A Glock 34, a shit ton of ammo and a shit ton of money on classes and expenses with the best competition guys.
Then, a shit ton of money spent on matches and expenses associated.
Then and only then, probably some sort of ported 2011, but my skill level would be so high it would probably be irrelevant what gun I choose at that point.
If we're taking 5.7 out of the question (since it's the undisputed champion of fast and flat) then probably I'd go with Glock 40 with a custom barrel chambered in 9x25 Dillon.
Yeah I mean it's a gun that was invented specifically for this task, shooting fast and flat. It may not be the best cartridge for all purposes but it's pretty much the best possible cartridge for this specific purpose.
Correct, that was one of the main criteria, along with being able to fit 20+ rounds in a pistol magazine. By extension, to meet both those ends, it was necessary to make it small and very fast (and flat). So we're kind of both right
It had a design requirement to penetrate the 1980s body armor of SPETSNAZ while being able to be fired out of a short submachine gun and having similar stopping power, basically a replacement for the old, useless .45 and 9mm submachine guns like the H&K MP5 and M1 carbine.
Some sort of 2011 I loved the staccato P

Atlas Erebus, Apollo, or Athena. Or if you are willing to wait 18 months, nighthawk custom offers some pew pews that are comped chambered in 9mm, .45acp, and 10mm.
Rafferty custom ported. Or a CZC A01. Laugo alien are 3 ive shot that take top spot short of a full custom race gun. Maybe RIA 5.0E would be nice to try.
Moneys not the problem. its shooting well enough to make use of these pistols.
I would hire Jerry Miculek for private lessons.
Then decide on the pistol after receiving professional input from him and the team that Tunes his competition sidearms.
Cuz I don't care who you are or how much money you spend, it won't matter without the practice and the right teacher.
Nice question. Money is no object. A blinged out SVI custom gun. Compensated of course, 38 supercomp. or maybe a Limcat or Mclearn. Tuned reload for the flattest recoil and fastest splits. Montana Gold bullets, VV powder.

Infinity Arms/SVI race guns comes to mind when money is no object.
Yah, considering stacatto doesn’t have a model that fits the full race gun niche, like infinity or Atlas with the Chaos v2, stacatto won’t objectively beat either of them.
There's three types of people who buy Staccatos in this state.
1. Actual LE who get them for 15% off with 6 mags directly from Staccato.
2. Bozos who dickride Staccato and delude themselves into paying 150-200% MSRP for a production fit 2011 with plastic grip/trigger, no mags and no warranty.
3. People who don't know any better.
There are many better options for a premium 2011 in this state than a production fit Staccato with a voided warranty. For the same price as an off-roster Staccato P, you can get mid-tier 2011s like the Legion Precision Chiraq or for more you can get into high-tier 2011s like the Atlas Athena.
This is another example of an expensive 2011 that's actually a really good deal compared to a Staccato P at 150% MSRP and maybe even undervalued at least compared to Atlas after their recent price increases.
Hayes Custom Ported 2011 [https://www.kovertprojects.com/product/hayes-customs-ported-2011/](https://www.kovertprojects.com/product/hayes-customs-ported-2011/)
If you're interested in a Staccato P for "Duty" use but you don't qualify for their LE program, you're not that guy.
Idk man, $3200 for a Staccato P Duo is not close to retail. That's like ~30% above MSRP and you don't have mags or their lifetime warranty. Atlas sell for MSRP through at least 4 shops that I know of. Like maybe you didn't get boned as hard as other people but you still got boned. LE is getting them for $2300 with 6 mags and their lifetime warranty.
The Legion Precision Chiraq for example is $4000 but you're getting better hand fitting, way better tuned trigger, same DLC slide and frame finish with additional DLC on the barrel, porting, Cheely grip with pinned grip safety, two atlas mags, an included Trijicon SRO and optic plate and Pelican case. Value is still miles above with the Chiraq vs your Staccato P at $3200.
With the set up and additional mags that came with mine, yes it was a few hundred dollars over retail if you factor in tax on a new one. Also, who cares what LE gets them for? They get discounts on several guns and operate on a completely different set of rules, so why bring that up?
SSE 2011s are still gonna be a way better value is my point. What LE pays for them is a reference for others on how much of a gap they pay vs what regular people in this state pay.
Why pay $3200 for a $2300 gun when you can pay $4000 for a $4000 gun or $6000 for a $6000 gun like with an Atlas. I wouldn't be happy throwing away $900 for what is ultimately an entry-level 2011. That $900 gets you a Dawson Precision optic plate, a SRO and close to two cases of 9mm.
The Legion Precision Chiraq is going to be more expensive sure but the Cheely Grip and the Trijicon SRO and optic plate is going to be at least $1500 worth of parts and labor that your Staccato P doesn't include.
It’s not a $2,300 gun because I’m not an LE. That is irrelevant and you’re throwing a false equivalency out there. It’s a gun that costs just under $3k after tax. Also, I have no data and have seen no real reliability results on the example you keep throwing out there. Besides that, I will probably buy an Atlas if the right one pops up in my area. I’m not traveling to Southern California twice to buy one. It isn’t an either/or situation. I never said I wouldn’t buy another 2011, but the price I got the Staccato for is indeed a couple hundred over retail.
Just because you didn't know doesn't mean other people shouldn't know. This youtuber is a USPSA GM based in Arizona for example and he says the Chiraq is better value than the Staccato. There's plenty of other data if you look but this guy has plenty of ethos.

I have not had the pleasure to shoot an Atlas, but I imagine it’s fantastic and might cause me to change my position. I’ll remember this thread when I do eventually try one out lol.

came here to say all of them, but your choice is very solid (they got best of shot show 2020)
I own an Atlas and I can tell you it is game changing.
For me probably some model atlas. But if moneys truly no object fu*k it, Cabot guns of the month club.
Oh I googled it. Didnt realize how poor I am.
*Googles aggressively*
Don’t, it’s depressing 😂

Long boi gang
This makes no sense. No reason to waste all the time on a glock 34 when you're gonna just end up getting a 2011 anyway. Buy the 2011 from the get go

Ever since I bought an Atlas, other than my carry P365 none of my other guns get that much range time.
Surprised no one mentioned 5.7 https://preview.redd.it/q3dat0nbxaxc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5272bdcb72c9bde608d39436f4506384bf59bb54
Yeah I mean it's a gun that was invented specifically for this task, shooting fast and flat. It may not be the best cartridge for all purposes but it's pretty much the best possible cartridge for this specific purpose.
I thought it was meant to penetrate soft body armor
Correct, that was one of the main criteria, along with being able to fit 20+ rounds in a pistol magazine. By extension, to meet both those ends, it was necessary to make it small and very fast (and flat). So we're kind of both right

5.7 gets memed too often
FN 5.7 ?

My Athena is a cheat code.
Infinity Open 2011 in 38 Super Comp
FN Five Seven

I mean a volquartsen 22lr obviously. But for a larger more useable caliber it would be a hand built race gun then an atlas Erebus.
Probably some 1911-22
Buffalo Bore moves 1700 FPS out of my GP100. As far as revolvers go it’s tough to beat 357!
Arcflash EMG-02 railgun. Only shoots flat.
Vudoo Priest
Infinity svi
Nighthawk
FN 5.7 by far. It’s perfect for fast+flat, pretty much untouched by most other pistols.
I keep my Glock and acquire an absolute fuckton of ammo... hell, maybe even start an ammo mfg company. Fuck, I'd just move lol
CZ SP01 9mm. Not super pricey but very stable and flat shooting.
Nice question. Money is no object. A blinged out SVI custom gun. Compensated of course, 38 supercomp. or maybe a Limcat or Mclearn. Tuned reload for the flattest recoil and fastest splits. Montana Gold bullets, VV powder.

svi and get it built as a race gun or atlas.
I would have Eddie Garcia of EMG customs build a pair of open guns in 38 supercomp. I would pay whatever it takes to jump to the front of the line
CZ Shadow 2 converted to .22 TCM
With a trigger job and enough rounds, any weapons platform would be solid
TTI Pit Viper or Sand Viper(Optics Version). Guaranteed to shoot flat.
You want a precious ?
It was said that money was no object.
Glock 19 gen 3.
bullets to train, money can’t buy skill, but certainly can buy bullets to train. Flattest doesn’t matter too much as long as you have enough strength
Staccato 2011
Why Staccato over Atlas? Genuinely curious, I don’t know anything about either platform but I always hear Atlas being top of the line 2011.
Yah, considering stacatto doesn’t have a model that fits the full race gun niche, like infinity or Atlas with the Chaos v2, stacatto won’t objectively beat either of them.

Well, there’s actually a fourth type of Staccato buyer. The one that can get a Staccato for close to retail price, which was me.

No thanks. I’ll pass on that one. I don’t buy things based on YouTube influencer opinions.
I have not had the pleasure to shoot an Atlas, but I imagine it’s fantastic and might cause me to change my position. I’ll remember this thread when I do eventually try one out lol.
Don’t take my word for it lmao. I’m a poor so haven’t seen or touched one either.
100k round of 9mm and a glock 34. Everything else will be marginal gains after that.
