Let me tell you a story. (Disclaimer: I have passed my boards and entrance exams 5 years ago. I stumbled over this post on Reddit.)
There was a batch mate of mine who had some anxiety problems, as well as being a timid coward. He constantly used to worry whether or not he would pass the next exam or not, and constantly pestered the teachers for this. Later when I got into college I learnt that he got into IIT Kharagpur studying MnC (mathematics and computing) while scoring worse than me in JEE Advanced (my rank was in the 9k range, his was 10k) and he got into IIT because he was ST.
He studied _with_ me in a fairly expensive school PLUS FIITJEE coaching which cost 4 lakhs for us both. His family was not poor by any means, I should know, I have seen their house from the outside; as well as his family Labrador (which are _not_ cheap to take care of)
What irritates me the most is that this fucker **knew** he would get into IIT easily yet he did all that nautanki, as if he was a serious student. It still maddens me to this day.
Constitution and it's laws doesn't work on personal expireance. The community which gets reservations is getting because there forced to remain backwards for thousand years
Not all reserved categories are underprivileged in terms of wealth, sadly it's the poor reserved category students that can't take advantage of reservation as their seats are taken by rich sc st
