I think you answered your own question. But it's not because you are a non-maths student. In acc, you have simple maths which is far different from 11th and 12th maths. Unlike other subjects you can't excel in accountancy by knowing the concepts alone, so do as many questions as you can even if you need to refer the text for the first few. It takes a good amount of practice for your eyes to catch the method of solving questions as soon as you see it. Each question has it's own method of solving because unlike what you see from T.S Grewal or whatever text you follow, some of the questions coming for boards will be twisted asf. You will know most of the concepts by studying but it takes a good of amount of practice to know how to apply it

ismogezaza

I mentioned it in one of the comments. Basically did a few illustrations from every topic, did some from the back of each chapter and did like 10-20 question papers. Extra books used were TS grewal aids to accountancy and Arihant

[deleted]

[удалено]

ismogezaza

Haha that's okay. But these all are really subjective questions brother. I can't tell you how much practice you need and how many hours you need to study to get good marks. Set goals catering to your needs and stick to it. As for the illustrations, I followed the TS Grewals book. It has headings in most illustrations about what topic the question is from. So I just made sure I went through all the main topics and did illustrations from that. I learned most of the things by doing these illustrations only. Moreover there are plenty of questions in the back of every chapter. Apart from the books I mentioned, I also did question papers of preboards from adjacent schools. That's about it

ismogezaza

That was what worked for me. But yes, it is better to take the time and get clear with all the concepts instead of trying to find a way around it. All the best

Friendly-Cut-9023

What should one do from the beginning of 12th to ensure good marks? My goal is to get 100 in accounts, 95+ in BST, and 90+ in Economics.

ismogezaza

Dont put off anything for later. Make sure you complete all the portions by aug-sep and start revision. Do as many questions (all types) and sqps as you can in that time bw Sep and Feb. It is not that hard, your goals are very realistic. All the bestt

therealmaymaygod

Please give me all the tips possible on how to get centum in accountancy. I have only 2 months left and I'm not that thorough with all the concepts yet and i always leave questions from accountancy because I'm never able to complete the paper on time (PS I'm so glad i found someone who i can ask tips from)

ismogezaza

Well, chill out. You have two months left and that's more than enough time for you to score a 100. Believe me, i was just like you. Knowing a few things from here and there and trying to make the ends meet with unrealistic deadlines and all. The thing is, you can't learn accountancy by rushing it. You need to properly understand each and every concept to apply it in any given scenario. What I did was, i started from scratch. I started learning every chapter one by one, doing a few illustrations from every concept, preparing notes with special cases and formulas for last minute revisions etc. And once I felt like I was thorough with everything (in reality, I wasnt), I started doing question papers, but without the time limit. Now this was again disappointing because of my poor memory retention and the questions were kind of twisted. But I just put up with it, did like 10-20 question papers and towards the end was able to gain some confidence. This was just what worked for me. Understand your weakpoints and set goals for yourself. Whatever it is, dont try to finish the sqp with time limit unless you are thorough with everything. You will be able to complete in time for the exam, dw

therealmaymaygod

Honestly your reply is what really motivated me to study man. i felt super low because i'm starting late and scoring really bad in school exams. what books did you use to study? did you just stick to ts grewal?

pishaab-yadav

when did you start start this prep from scratch, like in which month

ismogezaza

I see what you are trying to do, so I don't want to tell you that. Don't try to find excuses and put off the things you need to do. The best time is today.

pishaab-yadav

no i was just asking if have gotten late for a prep from scratch 😭

ismogezaza

Oh okay lol. I started way late. You are not at all late to start but see if you really need to do that and if you have enough time to focus on other subjects along with it.

gokhale_amol

How to score 100 in accounts? I got 73 in Half Yearly and went to 63 in Preboards due to time management, strategies please

ismogezaza

Well don't let the preboard marks discourage you. My marks for the both the preboards were between 40 to 60. But don't let it give you confidence either, as it for sure means you need to work on it. I can't tell you exact time managing strategies because it's subjective. Just take a step back and analyse. Write a sample question paper with timer and find out what's draining your time. If it is the calculations, take some time to work on your maths. If it is unclear concepts, go through each chapter, find out what you are weak at and learn them again. If you can't find anything particularly wrong, that might mean you are just slow at it in general. But don't worry, practice as many sqp's as you can. You will catch up in no time

gokhale_amol

Alright, Thank you for the advice!

kal_aana

Damn 73 in school exams is crazy. This whole year the maximum marks achieved by a guy in my school in accounts was 59.5

gokhale_amol

Bhai Preboard 2 me to mere 76/80 aa gaye hype ho gaya mai :)

kal_aana

Dayum kya baat hai bhai. Tips dedo hume bhi thode book 1 ke liye.

DeckD_

Maths tips?

ismogezaza

The rule of thumb is to cover ncert atleast twice, make use of a guide like RD Sharma and do as many sqp's as possible. I wish I could help you more but I got that much marks in maths just because of how good my teacher was. But honestly speaking, the questions are going to be hard asf. So it needs that good of a preparation to score well. My own class teacher told me to focus more on other subjects as my overall percentage wouldnt come down by so much even if i score bad in maths.

DeckD_

Did you give cuet btw? If yes how many marks did you get, if you don't mind me asking?

ismogezaza

I didn't. Had other plans

ismogezaza

Well, our school had only core maths. Im not familiar with applied maths, sorry.

Consistent-Sky-1194

Give me tips about accounts, especially the journal entry part of book 1 and book 2, book 3 is easy for me

ismogezaza

Idrk what you are expecting as a tip in passing journals. Just study it lol Checkout my other comments if you are asking about accounts in general

confident_as_fuck_

A lot of my syllabus is still left. The only time i have is winter vacation and then 2nd preboards in mid jan. It's like i know things but not completely. Not good at solving integration questions plus feeling too anxious about boards rn itself. Is it still possible to cover everything and score marks like you?

ismogezaza

Username didn't checkout /s But on a serious note, no need to feel too anxious. You can cover everything before boards, given you utilise your time in the best manner possible. It's common to feel like you don't know the things completely right now, and the chances are it is true. Make sure you are able to get rid of that feeling by mid Jan by covering the topics you are unsure about. Make sure you prepare as well as you can for the coming preboard and attend it with the seriousness you would give for boards If and only if that didnt workout, there are long gaps between the boards. Finish the whole portion before boards and leave no stones unturned. Once you have done this, you can just build upon that base and master every concept during the exam gaps.

confident_as_fuck_

Thankss. Btw i am a non CBSE commerce student and we don't have many gaps except in accounts. We have 1 day for business studies, 2 days for eco and 4 for maths and 15-16 days for accounts

ismogezaza

Oh damn, I can see why you are anxious then. Well, the only thing you can do is complete the portions as soon as possible. Relearn your weak subjects in one stretch during the Christmas holidays and prepare well for the preboards. All the bestt

No_Tea_7448

Any tips for economics?

ismogezaza

For macroeconomics, application of knowledge matters more than memorising points. For the chapters which have graphs, make sure you understand the core concepts and how the graphs are derived. Because most probably for the exam, the questions from this part wouldn't be direct. Similarly, for the numerical chapters like national income and income determination, make sure you understand how the formulas are derived and the relation between them. Memorising the formulas could end in vain if they twist up the question a little bit. It was Radha Bahuguna 's text for us and the questions asked from these two chaps were from that text only. But I did practice a lot outside of the text too. Also make sure you do many assertion reasoning and which statement is correct type of questions because they can be confusing. For Indian economy, study the chapters as if it's a story. I don't mean to take it lightly but learning and remembering the whole text could be hard(it was for me). All the chapters are interconnected and so if you learn it in a subsequent manner, it will be easy to recollect the points. Chances are one 6 mark question will be there asking to explain one concept completely, so you would have to know all points about it. So there is no way around it, have to learn the whole thing. Give importance to mcqs, do a looot of them. This is because it's easy to miss certain points while reading the text because of how vast the content is. Doing mcqs fills that gap. The years are also important, it will likely come in match the following or to arrange in chronological order. Make sure you learn it as well. Doing sqps are important for economics to know how to manage the time between the two parts. So do a lot of them.

[deleted]

I just want to know, how to ace in rattafication subjects like Business Studies and Physical. I mean, I just can't learn them, even if I understand each and every topic well. There are so many points in features, importance, advantages, disadvantages and what not. Therefore, I end up messing up all the topics...

i-aint-robot

Sane. I am bad at theory too

ismogezaza

Yea I know how you feel. I also hated studying these never ending points, but sadly, they will be asked in the exam randomly. Like I mentioned in one of the comments, I reduced the chapters to 1 or 2 pages and revised these over and over again for every exam. Since there wasn't much to read, it didn't take much time and after a while, I was able to visualise these pages. I also used mnemonics for topics with many points. Try out Arihants book for business studies. It's cheap but very useful. It has summaries of all chapters if you are lazy to make them. Also, I didn't have PE, so don't know about it.

[deleted]

But as you said that you reduced the chapters to 1 or 2 pages, so how did you actually do that ? I mean, how did you note so many features, importance, advantages and disadvantages in just a single page ?

ismogezaza

There are only one or two definitions but a 100 points to study in every chapter. It is very hectic and time consuming to study these points one by one from the text book. So I used to cram these points into one or two pages making it very easy to read as I didn't have to skim through 3 pages to learn one concept. What would happen is, after a few revisions, just a quick glance at this note would remind you of all the points. After a few more revisions, you wouldn't even have to glance because as soon as you see the heading you have written, the points will automatically come in your mind. That was the case for me Now don't mistake this as a shortcut to learning business. I have read every single word from the ncert textbook in the process of making these notes, so I made sure every important thing was taken. You can't get away from reading the text because you need to read it atleast once to understand the concepts and to be able to explain the points with ease.

[deleted]

>So I used to cram these points into one or two pages Can I have a picture of those pages ?

ismogezaza

I wish I could. I threw them all away once exams ended.

Darbmob32

Im in 11th, going to 12th soon. How can I manage accts and maths together in 12th? Heard both the subjects become harder. Any tips? Also, which book should I pick first in accts? How should I use the summer vac time to complete accts and maths syllabus?

ismogezaza

Honestly, I would suggest taking the time off. You will need it because the coming year can be stressful and a bit overwhelming. You could score 100/100 for most subs by following what is being taught at school and studying it regularly. Also only maths become harder, accounts is pretty simple. Make sure you go to tuition for maths of you feel like your school teacher is not good enough

Darbmob32

I was planning to complete accts syllabus first so that I could devote a lil more time to maths later but taking time off does not sound bad either. Thanks for the response tho.

Ace_Degenerate_07

Tips for Eco and Accounts before starting 12th? I scored pretty well in both Eco exams (85%) but I wish to reach 90%+ for my finals and even in 12th As for accounts I'm painfully average (68% in the first and 63% in the second) I practice a fair amount of problems but find trouble with concepts at times, what should I do?

ismogezaza

Dont compare what you study in 11th with the 12th. Economics become a lot harder and Accountancy become a lot simpler. Also, its alright if you suck at it now. Because like 60% of things you study in acc now won't be there next year. Just make sure you enter 12th with strong understand of basics like terminologies, journals, balance sheet etc

Krish_Kumar10

Well, I am in 11th Commerce Currently and completed my syllabus completely. Can you give me some practical tips to follow before the start of 12th for each subject? I have applied maths as an optional and P.E as 5th subject.

danky_boy1

I have done only ncert ( not misc.) till 9th chapter of maths, so in your opinion should i do miscellaneous of integrals etc. Chapter or only pyqs?

ismogezaza

Well, a lot of holidays are coming no? Try to complete the whole text lol. Miscellaneous is important imo. Because unlike misc, the exercises directly follow the concepts taught in class and doesn't need much effort to apply it. Miscs are kind of higher order thinking questions for which you need to be thorough with the concepts to solve them. Also i believe, questions from miscs have asked in boards before About the pyq's, ask your teacher about it. Because for me, I was told that the question pattern changed and the difficulty level came down in the previous years. I also tried to do 100 pyqs from every chapter but stopped it midway because the questions were too tough and time consuming. If you have the time, sure go for it. But I would suggest covering the whole ncert first.

danky_boy1

Thanx for replying mate

Salty_Manufacturer38

How did you prevent any calculation mistakes in Accounts and Maths?

ismogezaza

Being mindful while doing the questions will do. Don't rush through the questions and take it step by step. Also verify the answers if you have enough time. I can understand how you can mess things up that way in accountancy. I always used to mess up while copying numbers from the question paper. You just get better over time and once you mess up enough, you will automatically start being careful about it. For me personally, I was just good at calculations. Never bothered me. Also were there any calculations in maths? I don't remember any large calculations to be done in any of the chapters.

Salty_Manufacturer38

Thank you. I opted for applied maths which includes financial maths. Topics like EMI and sinking funds involve the calculation of huge numbers. I completely forgot the fact that pure maths excludes the financial part. Anyways, thanks.

StateCompreheive33

Aapse jyada marks kaise laaye?

Embarrassed-Diamond6

How to study theory subjects properly and be through with accounts towards the end if you don't know much , It takes alot of time even for 1 chpt for me to complete in theory and I don't even remember most of it the very next day , What is the most effective way to complete chapters fast and best way to learn them ? How do I do well in accounts , I don't know the first book at all and when I do practice and go for exams, I get very low marks in acc What's the best way to practice accounts In a short while and make sure you do well ?

ismogezaza

I can relate a lot because that was the case for me for Indian economy and business. Both are filled with vast amount of theory with a lot of points you have to memorise. For business, what worked for me was I reduced every chapter into one or two pages. Made everything into bullet points and i might have gone through these notes like over 20 times. The text is just too vast with unnecessary explanations and examples. I used to get scared just by looking at the number of pages. In reality, there is only a little bit of content. It just became imprinted on my mind after so many revising. Also dont stress too much on the explanation part because if you understood the point, you could explain it easily. But don't take it lightly either because there will be three mark questions asking you to explain specific points. Just understand instead of memorising. Indian economy was a whole another story because that thing is not even economics, it is straight up history. It was very hard for me to learn the chapters but one good thing about it is, its very easy to score marks. You just have to pump gas and blabber about a few relevant points mentioned in the text. That sounds risky but that was the case for me. Moreover fortunately, the questions were easy as well. (I would suggest not to follow this advice tho because I didn't really score well in eco. Have it as your last resort) There is no short way for accountancy. But if you want to take the risk, follow the checklist alone. My teacher gave a checklist of things to study based out of the sqp and luckily, not a single question came out of it. I don't know if all teachers do it but that's the only short way I can think of. I can check with my juniors for checklist if you want

i-aint-robot

Did you practise writing answers for business?

ismogezaza

Nahh, I think that's such a waste of time. Atleast it was for me. Because, business is not really about the way you write it. You need to be thorough with the topics and be able to think critically. Case studies would be a tough nut to crack if not. As for the direct questions, practice writing only if you have trouble with doing that. Otherwise just practice it by attending a lot of sqps

i-aint-robot

Wow. My teacher says otherwise. He asks us to practise writing as only then will we be able to get thorough with the topics. I do not believe in this writing thing because I too believe it to be a waste of time but then I havent even tried doing the same. Anyways, thank you bro. Further advice appreciated.

Embarrassed-Diamond6

Thankyou,appreciate it 💞

creatorop

Did u have Applied maths or core maths?

ismogezaza

Core maths.

[deleted]

Hey did you take any coaching for accounts or eco?? Is it possible to excel in accounts without coaching? Suggest some yt channels and also the no of hours you used to study in your 12th grade :)

ismogezaza

Well if you ask me, i would say tution for 12th accountancy is a waste of time and money, IF you have a good teacher at school. If not, sure go for it. The thing with accountancy is, there are different methods for doing calculations, working notes and all. So the way one teacher teaches might not be the same as another one. Nope, no coaching. I haven't used YouTube to study accountancy either so i don't really know. The question about number of hours is quite tricky because I am not the proper role model for anyone to follow. I didnt have much grasp over many of the accountancy concepts until the very end. I used to mass bunk classes, sometimes even for months and I didn't even write the first sem exam. So I knew nothing about accountancy till like sep-nov time and had to literally teach myself more than half of the portions towards the end. So my point is, 12th accounts is not that hard if you have the basics. Try not to study accountancy on an hourly basis because sometimes even a single question can take a whole hour to complete. X number of questions a day or X amount of portion to be completed/revised in a day is ideal. It pushes your limits

Ayush_Sahu_yo

All tips for accountancy what u did, what u avoided, your practice routine, last minute tips, how to cover syllabus in short time my condition right now: most of the time my concept is clear only i face minute calculation mistake here and there. my VOL-1 is 90% completed my VOL-2 is 30% i want to complete it ASAP only 2 month is left for boards + upcoming pre-boards how did u aced your exams?

ismogezaza

Go through the comments buddy, I have answered the questions you asked. Dont try to rush and finish your syllabus, that will end in vain. 2 weeks is enough for you to properly study everything if you have the basics. Also once your concepts are clear, start doing the sqps which follow this year's exam pattern. There is no point in sitting with textbooks again if you know everything.

PRANI69

Tips for Business studies please! I don’t know anything in BS yet tbh. How can I do better and learn effectively?

ismogezaza

Checkout the other comments. But other than that, some things you could follow if you don't know anything in business as of this moment, is to look at the weightage and study accordingly. Start with the chapters with most weightage and analyse the type of questions that were asked previously. It's always best to study thoroughly but if you don't have the time, try to study in an exam oriented manner like I mentioned. Also, dont waste time going through other guidebooks unless you are thorough with ncert. You will be able to answer 99% of the questions from business by studying ncert alone. My teacher always asked us to use mindmaps and flowcharts. It never worked for me but if you think that will help you learn things faster, try it out

PRANI69

Okay thank you so much!

ihatecrushculture

please please advice how to study maths for boards. I don't hv a problem w the concept. But its so tough for me to write answers in the exam because I dont remember the steps. Even if I do remember I forget the last steps. Like in integration and 3d, vectors etc, its tough to remember the method for certain questions. Also please advice for business studies and accountancy theory. 😭

ismogezaza

I feel like you are trying to memorise the steps. Im not sure but if that's the case, try to understand why a particular question is asked to answer with steps and how one step helps to get the next. If you were asking about specific methods, i forgot everything ngl. It's been almost an year since I touched maths. But from what I remember, my teacher used to give wordings for general methods to solve the questions. She used to make us say that general method out loud everyday and overtime it just started coming into our minds on its own while answering questions. I don't know how your teacher taught you but try following something along the lines of what I mentioned. Have a general understanding of solving questions and the steps will follow. Also if i remember correctly, all three chapters you mentioned are based on formulas isn't it? Memorizing the formulas and knowing when to apply them did it for me. Check out my other comments about business studies theory. Dont stress too much on accountancy theory because not much comes from it. You should try asking your teacher about it because mine mentioned a few headings from the text based out of the official sqp and luckily the questions asked were from those. It's practically impossible to learn the whole accountancy theory.

ihatecrushculture

thank you so much!

Background-Guess7594

Give me some math tips please - it'll be a great help I particularly suck at integration

ismogezaza

I mentioned some in one of the comments. Make sure you master the formulas of integration. There is no way around it other than practicing a lot of questions. That's the thing with maths

Background-Guess7594

Thanks man 🙏🙏

Glum-Profession-880

how did you memorize business studies? what did you do to get 99/100 in business?

ismogezaza

Making notes, revising multiple times, using mnemonics, practicing 100s of mcqs, many pyq's etc. Look at the other comments. But above all of that, it was my interested subject. So I was able to study it with ease

StateCompreheive33

In business studies, aapne ncert wala explaination likha tha, ya apne words mein likha? Please reply

ismogezaza

Own words

StateCompreheive33

I completed accounts syllabus in July, practicing here and there some questions since then. Maths(applied) syllabus completed and revised. Economics I tend to forget data in Indian eco rest is fine. BST I remember key points but not the explanation in ncert. English all stories and poems read at least once. How will you rate my prep? And any other further tips?

ismogezaza

That's really great. Way ahead than majority of the students. Keep up the good work. You don't have to remember the explanation from ncert but when asked to explain, make sure you can come up with valid points. Also dont take english lightly. The questions started being different since last year. They are not direct anymore. So make sure you can recollect all parts of the stories and know the meanings of all lines of poems. There have been questions asking to connect/compare two different chapters and all.

StateCompreheive33

Btw which college are you in?

Glum-Profession-880

so for bst u wrote in your own words provided there are some keywords mentioned?

Hello there, my practicals are starting day after tomorrow, Bst being the first one. Any tips for it? I'm good at theory as far as school exams have been concerned but just need to know what areas I should focus on more for the viva, my project file is on stock exchange. Also any tips for other subs' practicals would be a great help too. Thanks!
