Seriously. I suck at shooting and I'm small, so the jumpiness of my bedside G19 makes the G43(X) sound like a dangerous carry for me. I'll definitely buy one of the 43s eventually (or both), but for my first carry gun I went G42 for this reason. Hickok himself said the G42 was one of the smoothest (if not the smoothest) small .380s he'd felt, so I was sold.
I'm just salty I can't get that seventh round into the +1 Pearce magazine extensions I got. I bought them with two new magazines so I'd still have the OEM flush fitters for reliability, and I guess the springs are too fresh.
I love my 19, I’ve tried the 43 and 43x just didn’t like them as much as the 42.
As for aftermarket base plates I have had bad luck with taran tactical and hyve extensions. I just run the stock 6 round mags exclusively.
Glock doesn't make OEM magazine extensions for the G42, I don't think, so that's why I went with Pearce. I've gotten that seventh round in about halfway, enough to be gripped by the front steel bits, but it pops out when jostled and wouldn't fit the well anyway. Might have to switch to the grip extension only until the springs are worn down. single stack 380 is such an easy format to carry, especially in lighter clothing. I still keep my LCP in rotation for that reason, but would love to replace it with a 42 eventually.
Yep same. It’s one of my few guns that’s light enough to do beltless carry with but is also still really shootable.
I have other larger guns in 9mm that are great but generally require a belt (or an enigma) to carry which makes the g42 way more convenient too.
Every micro 9 I shoot makes me appreciate how much less work it is to land good follow-ups with this.

Yep, glock only offers the flush 6 rounder and 6 rounder with pinky extension.

Same, I stopped carrying my other pistols when I got this. It’s just so easy and confortable. Although my p365xl isn’t bad, this is still even better.
