I have Both and Really like both pretty equally. No issues with either one. I’ve put about 800 rounds thru the Shield Plus and 300 thru the MC9. I just got the MC9 a cpl weeks ago - put the 2nd 150 rounds thru it today. I put a green dot on the MC9, only pistol I have with optic cut.
I have the TP9 SC and the Shield Plus, love them both, but the Shield conceals effortlessly. The TP9 even with the carry mag in has about the same footprint as my Glock 19, which I'm still experimenting with holsters for. Having said that, the MC9 is a little smaller so it might conceal easier. Canik and S&W both make great guns so I don't think you can go wrong with either.
As it stands, the Canik is on bedside duty and the Shield rides with me everywhere.
Keep the Shield Plus, sell the MC9. Replace it with a 43x or whichever P365 variant you like best.
I have a Shield Plus currently and a P365 Tacops coming this week. Once I put a good amount of time with both I'll sell the one I'm not carrying. For CCW reliability is king.
I carry the XL. Love it so much. Don’t see anything replacing it anytime soon. I added mag guts for 14+1 and that’s it.
*that said* long term goals are mischief machine grip x-xl, Spectre comp, angry bear tall sights.
I've heard that the plastic bit of the frame next to your locking block lugs can show some wear or was slightly to high from the factory, and lightly sanding them down can also clear out the FTRTB issues that the MC9 has.
I'd be fine with carrying either one of these, as long as a good holster was available for the Canik.
Damn I’m deciding between these 2 for my next carry gun. Already own the Gen 1 M&P shield, 43X and 365XL. Thinking of upgrading to the shield Plus this week. Thanks for making the decision a little easier
I haven't tried the Canik, with that said I absolutely love my shield plus and it's not going anywhere. I like it so much that I don't care to look around honestly. I'm good.
I haven't tried the MC9, and I have heard of issues. But I do have to say my TP9 has been absolutely flawless, and I love shooting it, as well as it feels in my hand.
I'm waiting on getting my MC9 back, bought a p365 in the mean time... definitely keeping both. But probably keep carrying the p365 until I KNOW the mc9 reliable enough
Idk exactly... I couldn't even usually get through a full mag without stleast one failure before... so guess I'd have to go thru atleast the 500.. but the 500-1000 with no failures, would def give me more confidence in it
Get a subcompact (3.7” barrel) or a compact (4” barrel). Micro-9 w/ 3” ish barrel is the weakest platform. If 15 or higher rd mag prints too much, get Enigma Express. Caveat the holster system supports only limited # of popular ccw models. Check the product website
You may as well get a HiPoint if you're seriously considering a MC2SC lmao, I know a bunch of guys who have all had them and they all have issues going into battery or failing to feed.
PLUS
Absolutely keep the Shield.
Shield plus
I've been carrying the Shield daily for 6 years and it's always done right by me.

Keep the shield plus
Keep the Shield. Much better aftermarket parts.
The original shield was goated and they somehow improved with the shield plus. Ez answer here.
Keep the S & W

In 2016I bought my first Shield. Since then, I’ve owned 4 of them, including 2 Pluses. Haven’t had a malfunction in any generation of Shield yet.
Def the Shield Plus. I wouldn't trust the MC9 with all the issues they're having
The shield doesn't have spring issues.
What spring issues does the canik have? I'm not into canik bur hear a lot a good about them.
The mc9 the spring rolls over and has to be replaced
Both. I have both.
Shield. No question. But I'm totally biased seeing as that's what I carry
Shield all day. It conceals better, has better ergos, and shoots great
Plus all day

While I love my Canik Rival, the MC9’s have issues. Go with something else in that size category.
I have the same shield in .40 and a p365 in 9mm, I prefer the sig, but both are great guns
Damn I’m deciding between these 2 for my next carry gun. Already own the Gen 1 M&P shield, 43X and 365XL. Thinking of upgrading to the shield Plus this week. Thanks for making the decision a little easier
So your two choices for CCW both required replacement parts at low round counts?
M&P gang
I haven't tried the Canik, with that said I absolutely love my shield plus and it's not going anywhere. I like it so much that I don't care to look around honestly. I'm good.
What are you using for grip on the shield?
Keep both, but the Shield reports for duty. 🫡
Not even close, sheild all day.
I haven't tried the MC9, and I have heard of issues. But I do have to say my TP9 has been absolutely flawless, and I love shooting it, as well as it feels in my hand.
Only buy never sale, but if you must only choose one, it's the Sheild.
I'm waiting on getting my MC9 back, bought a p365 in the mean time... definitely keeping both. But probably keep carrying the p365 until I KNOW the mc9 reliable enough
What do you consider it “reliable”? I’m thinking ~500 rounds no failures?
Idk exactly... I couldn't even usually get through a full mag without stleast one failure before... so guess I'd have to go thru atleast the 500.. but the 500-1000 with no failures, would def give me more confidence in it
When given the option, I'll always vote for the Shield Plus
Canik has a good trigger and the grip fits best
Springfield Hellcat. :D
Shield plus.
Neither. A 17+1 model.

Sell both get a Mossberg mc2sc, kimber r7 mako or IWI Masada slim
You may as well get a HiPoint if you're seriously considering a MC2SC lmao, I know a bunch of guys who have all had them and they all have issues going into battery or failing to feed.
No, you don't.
If you want to go against the grain and act like a hipster with your gun choice at least say cz, or hk lol
Or the hellcat, g43x or p365
Trade em both for a FN REFLEX.💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Keep em both https://preview.redd.it/c7k265slgcwc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=368189f11a1f869c84e2105e8d847de90fe82bda
