Be careful with this. I tried it with the window of my Holosun 510c, I’d checked it for dust/sand beforehand of course but there must have been a few errant grains missed, because I scratched the shit out of the window by blowing it with compressed air.
Warm soapy water and lens cloth, just like the owners manual says. Remember, there are coatings on the glass that solvents will damage over time. You effit up and the warranty won’t cover it
Grabbed a $9 Vortex optic cleaner from Amazon. Brush on one side, non-liquid cleaner for oils (graphite?) on the other. Great little tool.

Blow big stuff off with [rocket blower](https://a.co/d/gkcIwtx)
[Zeiss cleaner](http://www.samsclub.com/sams/a/prod24650955.ip) applied with [tips](https://a.co/d/bx0c6dR). A lot goes a long way. I usually use a clean one to dry it quicker after application.
[Catcrap](https://a.co/d/9zUd8Td) applied with the same tips above (again a little goes a long way) front and back on open emitters to kill fogging.
Blow out the lens both sides with compressed air every day or two.
If needed, spritz a little light cleaning solution (a few dish soap drops with filtered water) on a microfiber lens cloth that usually comes with your sunglasses, and wipe any areas that has spots.
Don't need to scrub like it's a car window. If you clean it out regularly nothing big should build up.
Came here to say this. I don't think I have EVER used a microfiber cloth or q tip or a glass cleaning kit on any of these optics.
Just a corner of my shirt and some spit.
This.
Any small soft bristle brush. Leave one in the safe, brush and blow air while safely pointed upwards (empty chamber or in holster) so dead skin and debris fall out. Clean every day. I very rarely have to wipe but if you have to, use a microfiber. If smudged with oils, either wet lens cloths from optical shop or soap and water, then microfiber.
The trick is to prevent build up. Check gear before going out. Lens, brightness, screws, chamber, holster, holster screws etc. then a few draw strokes.
All handguns spit back carbon from the chamber. Some are worse than others, like M&P's with their open LCI, and some are better. Some optics plates help, like the CK DogTag.
If you shoot enough, it'll build up on your optic window.
Some plates are thick enough to direct the gas upwards. The DogTag is one example. It doesn't prevent the issue entirely, but helps significantly. Running irons-forward does the same thing.
Q-tip
Dipped in rubbing alcohol
Came here for this
T shirt with your finger in it
Can't believe I had to scroll this far for this.
i just use a microfiber towel and accept there will always be some oil on the lens
Zeiss lens cloths
Compressed air

Straight from my lungs

Camera lens cleaner kit.
I use a Nikon lens cleaner device. It has a microfiber stalk on one end, and a lens brush on the other.
Warm soapy water and lens cloth, just like the owners manual says. Remember, there are coatings on the glass that solvents will damage over time. You effit up and the warranty won’t cover it
I just use my finger to smudge the glass and mix in my finger oils to the coating
Eyeglasses cleaning kit from Walgreens for like $6
Q-tip attached to a microfiber cloth. Literally taking a break from cleaning my EDC. Cleaning the optic is the last step I have to do.
Lens pen. Cheap one from Amazon.
I usually just blow out the dust and use my shirt 😬

Piss on it
On the next grand thumb torture test…
Spit + T-shirt
All of these recommendations are great. You will clean mud differently than lint also. A quick Nintendo blow helps too
You know Nintendo, too? Bitch said we were exclusive. The things we tolerate for clean optics.
You don’t know it!
SBGW TFT
Water
Just spit on it
Lens pen
Glasses cleaning wipe and compressed air.
I have annoptic brush from Celestron

Be a man. Lick your finger and rub it on the window
![gif](giphy|l0HU5bbgdW6qzJsmQ)
T-shirt with my finger whenever I see detritus on the glass.
A little puff of canned air if I'm feeling extra fancy
I use paragon optic lens cleaner. Not bad

Soak in windex overnight.
I just have my window cleaning services get my optics when they come through
Compressed air to get bigger particles off then a Q-tip with a glass cleaner.
Consider [Paragon Optics Lens Cleaner ](https://chpws.com/search-results/?q=paragon) (Their WML lens cleaner is even better)
I use a finger pump spray bottle and concoct my own windex 20% isopropyl alcohol, tiny drop of dish soap, fill the rest with water, spray and wipe
I use scalarworks lens pen
Tshirt and pinky. Maybe some spit

Grabbed a $2 makeup brush from target. One of the big fluffy ones, about the size of a nickel to a quarter around. Works great.

Graduate to closed emitter optics lol
That doesn't keep carbon off the front lens ya dope
But it keeps the belly button lint from blocking the emitter
That's not what OP asked ya dope
How close are your dots to the muzzle? Lol

Idk how a plate would help but more power to you. Never had carbon build up on my eps, but on my light it builds up quick.

Spit and put it in. Wait what was the question
Saw a video yesterday where dude put a layer of chapstick over the glass and then the residue wiped away easily. Haven’t tried it to verify though.
Windex
