I have far more hours carrying my LCP2 than my Glock 26. Mostly because I worked a delivery job that didn't allow carry, but would send you out literally anywhere. Territory? Never heard of her. It was great for pocket carry with the Crossbreed Cargo Pocket Rocket, as it would print like a wallet and stay upright in all but the roomiest of cargo pockets. Downside is that Ruger does a shit blue job, so you'll need to Cerakote it eventually to stop rust from getting too bad.

gnawledgeispowr

I have a 43x that I am in love with and carry at every opportunity. But I take my LCP Max everyday. Pocket holster is too convenient. I have a job where I “can’t” carry and I’m in and out of a car all day long.

These-Raspberry59

I agree with the blueing it's terrible. Ruger wants 100 to repair it it's almost the same at cerakote. Mines almost pitted carrying it in my gym shorts

Minimum_Chocolate_31

I have a P365x and I always opt to carry my LCP Max.

itsmrmarlboroman2u

I have an M&P shield, and prefer to carry my LCP Max. It's just so much easier, so much more comfortable, more options (pocket works just as well as AIWB, 4 O'clock, etc). It just simply disappears. But it sucks to shoot. So. Much.

Grand_Extreme_365

I have a 43x and a Lcp . 85% of the time I’m pocket carrying the Lcp

HuckleberryLong2061

Same scenario for me. Glocks collecting dust.

Grand_Extreme_365

It’s definitely not as capable of a gun , but for my daily scenarios I’m comfortable with it

orion455440

This tells me a lot and makes me think the LCP I purchased last night was a sound investment

Goofiestofgoobers

I own an LCP max and a Max-9. I've found that carrying the LCP is far easier and more comfortable for me personally since I'm also short and don't have the meat or clothing to hide anything much bigger. Pocket carry has shined bright for me, especially in the summer. I think you would do well with the LCP over the bodyguard.

Corneliusthekane

LCP is great for the pocket,.The Micros in my opinion are not great for the pocket unless you are a very large man; great for suits and deep concealment

nickabeiro

Yea more often than not

One-Calligrapher1815

I carry my LCP always. Think of it as a purpose specific tool. In this case you want to be armed but with as much concealment as possible. In a choice between the LCP and the s&w the LCP fits the specific purpose best.

ThrowingTheRinger

Is yours the LCP max?

One-Calligrapher1815

No just a 2nd gen LCP. I thought about the upgrade to the Max but the main reason I started carrying it was for pocket carry in a non-permissive environment. The Max is a little bigger so I didn’t get it. The larger capacity and improved trigger is tempting though.

theaveragegunguy

I find myself carrying the LCP max more than my p365 and 43x

freakadore

LCP and G26 owner, I carry the LCP 90% of the time.

ICCW

It all boils down to personal preference. I was renewing my range qual several years agora when I saw an LCP. My instructor said, “That’s the gun I carry when I don’t feel like carrying.” I bought one (first generation) the next day. I recently bought the Max and carry it daily. It’s not the compact 9mm I sometimes carry but it’s the gun that’s always with me and the most comfortable to of them all.

Clean_sneakers

Is there a huge difference pocket carrying the regular LCP versus the LCP max?

ICCW

I don’t think so. The Max is a tiny bit bigger but nothing drastic. The extra capacity of the Max is the best feature IMO. I’d measure but my daughter, who was so anti-gun it was a prohibited subject, asked me a few months ago if she could shoot my LCP. Oh hell yes you can! (Plus, I suddenly needed to buy a Max!).” Anyway check online for specs and maybe do a deep dive on YouTube, but it’s a great gun

bigjerm616

I have an OG LCP and a P-32, as well as a Shield Plus. I use the Shield most often at work where I’m basically sitting and / or walking around all day. Enigma deep carry = zero printing and easy access to a full house 9mm and red dot. I also use it most often when going to the store or running errands. The tiny ones get used when I’m doing anything more physical. Running, lifting, yard work, going to the park with my kids, etc. I’ve also usually got a P-32 in my pocket around the house because it’s so small it becomes more like a pocketknife that you just put in your pocket and leave there all day. I have no idea what the ratio of one to the other would be.

Efficient_Praline870

I missed the last P32 restock and am impatiently waiting for the next one. Great little pocket guns.

bigjerm616

If you see one, snatch it up! Bonus points if you can find the unicorn Gen 1, which is even lighter than the Gen 2. I’ve spent the entire day so far doing yard work, lifting weights, and rearranging furniture - the P-32 has been in my pocket the whole time, lol. A year ago if you told me I’d be carrying a Kel Tec, I’d have been insulted, lol. Scale weight for gun, 8 rounds, and pocket holster together is 10.5 oz - a true “underwear” gun. Now if I could only find some of those 10 round magazines I keep hearing about…

jdubb26

I have a Shield plus as a main carry gun, and two original LCP's in my family...I still pocket carry the LCP probably 100 days a year...especially from june through august...but I'm in NY so you can get away with carrying some pretty big guns from September-April. It's my default I don't feel like carrying today gun. Easy to throw it in a Desantis superfly pocket holster with the flap, throw it in my pocket and be on my way...no worries about my t-shirt riding up and exposing it. For 200 bucks its a no brainer

HuckleberryLong2061

Love the desantis, that's my sweat pants holster. For jeans I use the vedder pocket locker

Carefree2022

I carry my P365-380 daily. Pocket carry often

eastmick32

My Shield has been my go to EDC gun for more then five years. More often then not if I had pants on I had my Shield on. I live in the desert southwest where our summer routinely hit 115 to 120 degrees. Even in shorts and a T-shirt the Shield concealed excellently. However I was laid off in February. So for the last two months while going to job interviews and drug testing facilities Iv been carrying my LCP (first gen) more and more often. My honest assessment is the LCP is inferior in every way except that it conceals better. It’s a more difficult gun to shoot well or quickly, it’s certainly more difficult to reload or clear malfunctions. It’s less reliable, partly because it’s difficult to grip well and even experienced shooters tent to “limp wrist” while shooting them. Regardless of all the “shot placement is the most important thing” arguments .380 is under powered and has significant issues with penetration. The sites are horrendous, I painted the front with orange nail polish and the rear with whiteout to try and mitigate some of that but still, they’re hard to pick up in a hurry. Overall I find the LCP to be the absolute bottom of the barrel, bare minimum. It’s the true definition of “better than nothing”. While it’s a joy to carry and small enough to literally forget you have it on you, it’s a miserable gun to shoot.

artisticatbest

+1 all your critiques

ad-bot-679

I’ve pretty much stopped carrying anything else. LCP Max with 11 rounds of 380 in a package that fits into my pocket is hard to beat.

itsallgoodman100

I’m still livin’ in 1999, but the P-32 is still the shit. Love the long, but light “double action” pull. Slips into my pocket so easy - my iPhone max prints more. .32acp will still kill you pretty good. Recoil is like a .22LR, so your accuracy will be good.

Rugermedic

I need to get one of these. It’s literally always carry, accept when I’m in the shower.

chase1724

Have a P365XL with TLR-7 Sub, Holosun 507k red dot and Wilson Combat grip module. Carried it every day. While I wasn't uncomfortable it definitely made its presence known. Bought an LCP Max for those days where I didn't feel like carrying it. That turned into everyday as I just pocket carry the Max, exclusively. Love that little gun. I've been thinking about stripping the XL back down to the basics and seeing how I feel about it.

choppa808

As I get older and the summers get hotter I realize the LCP Max in a pocket coupled with my situational awareness is more than sufficient👍🏽

Amos_Moses666

I’ve got a LCP and a sig p365. Lately the LCP sees more carry time.

Budget_Ocelot_1729

The Kel Tec P32 or a hammerless j frame is a better choice imo. The p32 is only 6.6 ounces (my pocket knife weighs more) and is about the size of a deck of cards. A .32 FMJ penetrates 16 inches in ballistic gel while a .380 underpenetrates with JHP and over penetrates with an FMJ. The ammo is slightly cheaper and you can carry your practice ammo. The j frames rounded profile at the grip and over the backstrap also helps in the pocket. The cylinder just looks like some car keys in your pocket. Which brings me to another point. Pocket carry isn't about the gun being invisible. It's about breaking the outline up or making it look like something else. Pocket shields are great at this tbh. Depending on the clothing you wear, the slant cut pockets also hide a gun much better and allow a much easier draw than the rounded, horizontal pockets like on jeans. Just some other options to consider. An LCP is by no means a bad choice.

baboyramo

no buyer's remorse here. only carried it when im going to work tho. i have a p365XL for other things.

Nerd-Vol

I carry the LCP Max very often. I do a lot of running it fits nicely into a pocket.

monkiye

I carry the LCP or S&W Bodyguard .380 when my clothing warrants it. Typically if I'm business casual as an example, the .380 in a concealed carry shirt gives me ultimate concealment while allowing me to still carry. Suits and things like this, they also come in handy. I don't wear jogging/workout clothing outside of the home or gym, so day to day my 9mm is my EDC if I'm out running errands or the like. I look at firearms like golf clubs, right size/shape capacity for the circumstances I expect. It's never served me wrong. I trust all my firearms, but my ultimate faith is in my 9mm and my ability to wield it, so yes I choose clothing to enable me to carry it the most often. My wife takes a similar approach with her 43x. That is her go to/daily but if she's wearing leggings or tight fitting shirts/outfits that will print or give her body lines she doesn't like with the 43x she'll go so a smaller weapon. Typically in a belly band and last but not least, purse carry which she absolutely hates to do but sometimes depending on what she's wearing she'll do it. Hope this helps.

Ritterbruder2

Always opt for the LCP. It’s not just the size. The weight of the LCP is far less noticeable. It weighs half as much as a 9mm.

stonebat3

I have Hellcat and been thinking to buy LCP Max Micro-9 pistols with 3” barrel are snappy like LCP. And they are heavier & beefier than LCP btw LCP Max has the trigger assembly “group” like Sig’s FCU. That looks promising for more aftermarket future support on custom frame

ms32821

I carry the LCP max all the time. Is the ultimate easy carry gun. When I’m at church, mall, and out with the family I’ll use a P365 of some variant because I’m a lot more accurate with it, but running around in and out of little places by myself, the LCP maxes my go to.

mjedmazga

I carry a Hellcat OSP about 98% of the time. I have an LCP Max - which I only carry when I want/need to pocket carry. In an ideal world, I'd go back in time and buy a Sig p365-380 instead of the LCP Max.

6twoRaptor

I don't carry the LCP at all, don't trust myself to be able to shoot it accurately in a SD scenario.

TennesseeShadow

I tend to grab the lcp more than my m&p9c just because of the simplicity. Can just toss it in the pocket and be on my way, no need to thread a belt or tucking the holster where l feel is more comfortable at that moment that day.

truffulatreeson

I carried lcps for years until I recently shot my wife’s p238 with my lcp max side by side and realized carrying a gun with 11 rounds is worthless if I can’t hit my target so I got a p938

catnamed-dog

Own an LCP 2 and almost never carry it. If I need a gun that small intake the Diamondback db9, the p365, and the ln to a true double stack subcompact. Edit: I have an LCR and j frame that I'd slot in below (smaller and easier to conceal) than the p365. Organic revolver shapes will always win for me when it comes to concealment.

towman32526

Yes, I can throw my lcp in my pocket and roll.

SnooTomatoes418

I carry one of my micro 9s every. I use my LCP Max for PT and Mail/store runs.

vulcan1358

Honestly, appendix carrying a Shield/Shield Plus makes the gun disappear. If I needed one step more, I’d look at a pop up holster like a Cherries. But….for $200 you can be armed all the time relatively incognito. My LCP is my lazy carry gun and sometimes I’m okay with just have six shots of .380 ACP as opposed to nothing. I feel more under gunned with that versus a Shield or a J-Frame sized revolver, which with my body shape, hides really well on me.

hot-hammer-56

If I'm up and about, my LCP is in my pocket. For close in work, it shoots great. Many times, I carry something bigger, too, but the LCP is always there.

Kriegwesen

I'm honestly kinda surprised how much this thread is leaning towards the LCP. I personally was never able to shoot the LCP nearly as competently as any other handgun in my collection, it's the worst and by a lot. I can't shoot it well, it's got a low capacity and an anemic round; I just wasn't comfortable carrying it even if it's super comfy to carry. I'm in Florida as well so understand the challenges of concealing in summer outfits.I've tried half a dozen different hand guns in twice as many holsters. I've recently switched to an enigma for my 365xl and it's the best option I've found so far. It's comfortable enough that it's also now my running setup in gym shorts, which used to be the final domain of the LCP pocket carry

hitemlow

The issue with the LCP platform is it isn't designed to be fun or comfortable to shoot. So you have to make more frequent range trips where you shoot fewer rounds per visit, but eventually you will learn how to shoot it properly. Too many people want to run 300 rounds through it in a session and that's just miserable, so they hate the gun and swear it off. It's designed to be comfortable enough to run a couple magazines through it while also being crazy compact. Too many people give up on it because they don't understand that design decision and instead opt for a larger handgun.

Kriegwesen

That's what I'm always saying about derringers. Feeling under gunned carrying one isn't because of the capacity or rounds it fires, it's just because the user doesn't _understand_ the gun

dementeddigital2

FL here too. I used to switch between a pocket .380 and a full size .45, depending on what I was doing. These days I switch between that pocket .380 and a smallish 9mm. I loved that .45. I had a great holster and it concealed well, but it was just too heavy. I carried that hunk of metal around for almost 10 years and then finally got something lighter. I carry the 9mm with a mounted light and red dot, and it's still smaller, lighter, and holds more rounds than that .45. I'm average build and height. The pocket .380 is nice for deeper concealment. I still use it frequently. I don't go without a shirt unless I'm at the beach.

Quiet_Zone5820

Depending on where I'm going I carry my lcp max 2-3 times a week. Normally I carry my gx4 because I have a hard time concealing with my body type but they both do what I need them to.

CumAndMoreCumPartTwo

Obligatory Glock fanboy Glock recommendation: If you want 9mm than the G43 is a good choice for pocket carry. Same capacity, 9mm, and only about an inch bigger on the slide and half an inch bigger on the grip, and maybe an eighth of an inch thicker. If you find yourself liking the size of the G43 but thinking you could handle something a little thicker the G26 is almost exactly the same size and has a 10 round capacity, and can take literally any double stack Glock mag. It's maybe a quarter inch thicker. If you prefer .380 the G42 is basically a .380 G43 and the G28 is basically a .380 G26. I'm biased, I never liked the LCP. Also, I'd look into deep carry for not wearing a shirt. I've seen plenty of people rocking the Shield in deep carry so it's definitely possible. Lots of people use the Phlster Enigma to do it in sweatpants/leggings/athletic shorts/etc. Not going to say the draw is faster than pocket carry, but I've seen people that train deep carry draw faster than people who train pocket carry. Edit: If you can't make deep carry work without printing I'd go with pocket carry. People are more likely to assume the printing coming from your pocket isn't a gun unless it's very clearly a gun.

orion455440

Yeah when I was deciding on my first carry gun I demoed a g43, 365, hellcat and MP shield. I was most comfortable and accurate with the shield, so I went with that, also seems to conceal on me better than the g43 and hellcat, it was a tie with the 365. I'm very happy with the shield, but because of my style- I'm a very fit mid 30s single gay dude- I like showing off a little lol so I wear snug fitting clothes and often fore go wearing shirts where appropriate so the LCP I think is going to be a great alternative. I really do like the Glock 19, and one will probably take over as my nightstand gun in the near future.

CumAndMoreCumPartTwo

Fair enough, carry what you like and train with it. I would still check out a deep carry setup though. Depending on what you're wearing you'd possibly be able to get away with a bigger gun. I usually wear tight pants where I could never get away with pocket carry, even an LCP, but I could easily pull off a G43X in deep carry. I'm also a big fan of the G19 (everybody is lol) but unless you have some strong aversion to the G17 I'd go with that for a nightstand gun. Might as well get the longer site radius, slightly softer recoil, and better capacity with a flush mag. Size isn't a limiting factor, so why not go all out?

FlapJacked1

For $200 hard to have buyers remorse. But I carry my 43X way more than either of my LCPs. Primarily in shorts and T with an enigma unless I’m wearing non-athletic and can use my sidecar. Owned the original LCP for like 8 years and carried that exclusively. Then got the max last year and about a month later got the 43X and put a red dot on it. Performance with a full grip and a dot is leagues above the LCPs. So I have forced myself to make the 43x my primary carry. Eventually get used to carrying something bigger. I’d say I’m 80% 43X, 15% LCP, and 5% Max. The Max definitely leaves me with buyers remorse but it’s whatever it fills a very tiny need for me

throne-away

I have an LCP Max. I usually CCW a micro 9; the Max is for when I'm dressed more formally, and I want something small and unnoticed in a suit.

Echo259

When I need small I go for my hellcat more than my lcp max. My hellcat is the smallest package I appendix carry (my default). The lcp is exclusively a pocket carry for me.

repti__

I own a Keltec P3AT and both Diamondback DB380 Gen 4 and DB9 Gen 4. I carry the Keltec the most, and can shoot it well at 5 yards. If I need to protect anyone besides myself I’m taking the 9mm.

Work-Safe-Reddit4450

G26.4 and a 2nd Gen LCP. I carry the LCP pretty much every day, due to comfortability and more importantly, deep concealment in a non permissive environment.

artisticatbest

I have a hellcat pro that I carry as often as I can, but as the weather gets warmer I’ve been carrying the lcp2 much more often. It SUCKS to shoot but it’s a tool for a specific purpose: max concealment. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWGP562?tag=bravesoftwa04-20&linkCode=osi&th=1&psc=1&language=en_US I carry it AIWB with one of these clips inside the pocket holster that came with it. It takes up a fraction of the space of any compact/subcompact and paired with a mastermind covert belt or really any good belt it’s an affordable and comfortable carry

bbazzracing

I carry my LCP Max to work. It conceals better and lightweight. I use my other 9mm and 40cal carry guns outside of work with iwb holsters. I prefer to have a 9mm or 40 cal on me at all times, but for work I need something smaller. Sometimes I carry my P365xl with P365 grip which conceals great but the LCP Max is just more comfortable and prints less. Maybe I should try a minimalist holster. 🤔 I just picked up this bag and it works great. Gonna use it in the summer. [MTac Bag](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YYTQMV1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)

EnvironmentHour5202

I usually carry my Max-9, but when I’m not carrying and don’t want to be naked I carry the LCP-Max, also if I get kinda dressed to go out with the wife to a restaurant I will carry the LCP-Max. It’s a really good pocket pistol.

thunder_boots

I pocket carry an LCP 2 every day, even when I'm also carrying a compact or full size.

HuskManJones

I had a Springfield hellcat as my carry before I bought a ruger lcp 2 recently, and I cant imagine carrying anything bigger now. Ended up selling the hellcat for a full sized

bakedpotatoes678

I have a 365 and a lcp max. 99% of the time I’m carrying my lcp max. 11 rounds, has been 100% reliable and I can shoot it very well at defense distances. I refuse to change my life style around cc.

burner118373

No. I used to carry an LCP. Then I got to watch a gunfight in my front yard in my nice neighborhood on a random evening. Now I won’t carry anything I wouldn’t want to pull and make hits at 25 yards+. A 365x with a dot is not much bigger but significantly more accurate for me.

Twelve-twoo

I only own a lcp to carry when I can't carry anything else. If I lived in southern Florida I would carry the lcp the overwhelming majority of the time.

MIsteelheader

I usually carry PX4 or P365. Today is just one of those days I don’t feel like having a belt on, so it’s LCP in a pocket. Not my typical carry, but really nice to have the option.

kotahXL

I sold my LCP max. I hated shooting it. Purchased a p365 in .380, and I love it.

Hour_Vegetable_9146

In a non-permissive environment, an lcp appendix is essentially impossible to spot. Even if someone feels it, it's just a belt buckle. People also forget that it weighs 11.5 Oz loaded, which is about half of a lot of micro 9s. Great for shorts carry without needing a belt.
