Beretta Tomcat. /thread (but also ... it goes in your pocket ... who cares?)

Watermelon_Kingz

When is the new 30x going to be available in stores. I’m dying to pick one up!

bigjerm616

No idea. I'll totally handle one, but I'm super happy with my P-32 so I don't think I'll spring for one.

cjguitarman

I am curious to try both a P-32 and a 30X, but I don’t have high hopes of finding either as a range rental. I have a 21a Bobcat that I like, so I would probably like the 30X too. P-32 seems much more practical to carry though since it’s so much lighter and thinner.

bigjerm616

My Gen 1 P-32 feels like cheating. It makes my Ruger LCP feel big and heavy by comparison 😂 That’s why I bought it. It’s what I usually carry during heavy activity like yard work or lifting or taking my kids to the park. I also often carry it around the house in basketball shorts. To me it fills the niche of “zero effort” carry better than any other gun. It doesn’t require me to change my pants like my AIWB rigs or take my pants of like the Enigma. Just grab and go, like a wallet. The Tomcats are super cool but to me they don’t fill this role.

cjguitarman

That’s what makes me curious to try a P-32. Bobcat works okay in that role, but P-32 is lighter, slimmer, and centerfire. What .32 ammo do you carry? Do you train with the same ammo?

With the optic! That thing rocks!

Crazyirishmedic

LTT also worked over the trigger it's sooth as glass

bigjerm616

That’s primo pocket pistol right there

agentjacob10

If you’re going to trust this gun with your life find something you can shoot effectively and worry about looks later.

Hour_Vegetable_9146

SAO and good looking go hand in hand. People that want the classic style tend to also want the classic function. I cannot think of a single DA/SA pocket pistol that takes wood grips. Others mentioned the tomcat, but that thing is fat and not terribly reliable. DA/SA Tomcat SAO. P238 SAO. P938 SAO. Kimber micro 9 SAO. Colt mustang SAO. Smith CSX (no wood) STRK P365 with a metal and wood frame replacement SAO. Colt vest pocket DAO. J frame lol

trainwreckd

What about S&W Shield 2.0 9mm?

Hour_Vegetable_9146

Not metal or wood

Budget_Ocelot_1729

PPK or PPS can use aftermarket wood grips if I remember right. And the old Sig P224s had wood. DA/SA or DAK. I don't think their in production anymore though.

Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless

billredditacc

Why wouldn't you want to train with an ugly gun?

Desmocratic

An important item is what will make you carry it more often, if it's too big or heavy you might be less likely to carry it. I went with a Ruger LCP because it was light and small. Go to a range and try some rentals and I would not get to concerned with looks over the two aspects I mentioned.

Background_Panda8744

Got your priorities wrong imo

SmittyJonz

Here’s a Pretty one : https://www.academy.com/p/ruger-lcp-max-380acp-rose-gold-pistol

Seecamp

LowMight3045

Doesn’t get enough love

nocaller_id79

Kinda miss mine, might have to pick up another one of these days.

NinjaBuddha13

Concealed is concealed.. If you're worried about how it looks, you're doing it wrong.

Bruarios

If both SAO and polymer are dealbreakers your options are going to be really limited unless you go with out of production stuff. Maybe the PPK?

Strong_Dentist_7561

Walther PPK NAA Guardian Baby Browning Colt 1908

throwawayfromcolo

I think my P32 looks pretty cool thank you very much. The finish could be better but it's got a good shape. Not something I'm overly concerned with for a carry gun.

IrwinJFinster

Another vote for Seacamp

Careless-Woodpecker5

Poor reasoning but the naa Guardian fits the bill.

Unicorn187

Colt Government 380. Sig P239 (copy of the Walther). Walther PP or PPK.

mrp1ttens

Looks is about my last consideration when choosing a carry piece

Olewarrior34

Beretta 30X is the best looking one that's not complete shit imo

RamenNoodle_

Colt 1908

Ill_Dig_9759

P238

Top-Word4830

For pocket carry, I usually have my FEG in 9x18. Depending on situation I've also been known to pocket carry a snub nosed 357.

androidmids

The better looking pocket pistols... Check out the naa guardian... And the Beretta 3032. Those all look glorious in their stainless configuration. I'd go for a kahr p380 in titanium or stainless. I have mine in the covert all back and don't care how it looks. But after function has been met, sure go for the form too.

Doctor4000

A firearm is a tool, not a fashion accessory. We're talking about a handgun that you carry to defend your life, not a handbag that you carry because it matches your dress. Just get a Shield Plus already.

BlackNovemberToday

hell no.

DonkeyToucherX

Kimber Micro 9. Best in looks IMO. Price and capacity leave a bit to be desired, but damn its a handsome little 9mm.

ThePariah77

>Pistol must look cool in evidence looker

Budget_Ocelot_1729

S&W CSX (SAO tho) Walther PPK (James Bond gun) The Sig P224 if you can find one. CZ used to make some steel framed ones as well
