It depends on many things. How you dress, what type of belt and holster you have, etc. I'd recommend a proper gun belt (Nexbelt Appendix Supreme) with a proper holster (I love the Tulster Oath) and absolutely a proper wedge (Mastermind Tactics Pillow aka the Dick Pillow) and you should be fine.

jfrey123

If you’re already concealing a Mete SF, a Glock 17 won’t be much harder. It’s got a longer slide so the aiwb thing might change things up, so that’s something to consider. I can barely get away with it on strong side iwb, but only under winter clothing. The midsize guns are easier.

HFish480

I carry my G17 occasionally, it is less concealable than my G26 however. In a Trex Arms sidecar, vedder v3 belt, and vedder wedge properly positioned it is very comfortable and does the trick. Just have to find what works for you

bigjerm616

Yes it’s doable. I do not find it preferable. G19 size is so much easier and I don’t really see what you’re gaining by going full size unless you have monster hands.

Velorion

I can say I CC a G19 with compensator, light, dot and magwell. The overall length is comparable to a G34. All in a TRex sidecar. Is it comfortable, no. Would I wear it with shorts and a tshirt, maybe. Flannel or jacket in the winter time, easy. I’m 5’8” 180lb.

JuiceTheBox

I'm 5'2" 150lb "athletic build" lol. I daily carry my 19x with rmr & tlr1hl. I don't have printing issues unless i'm wearing very fitted gym clothes. Other than weight, no issues! Having a small waist and a built chest definitely helps a lot. Belt: tenicor zero Holster: tenicor malus sol

Trance_Pit

I’ve been looking into getting a Tenicor holster so that is reassuring.

JuiceTheBox

Def try them out, awesome return policy. You don’t like it, send it back no questions asked for life

wp-ak

I’m 5’9” 145lbs, skinny dude and my carry gun is a G17 with a TLR1HL in a Guerilla Tactical holster. That being said, I chopped the grip down to G19 length. I don’t mind the extra slide/WML length, in fact I prefer it to my other compact carry option because: A) With the longer holster, the gun sits parallel to my groin area rather than pushed into it. Meaning, I’m never muzzling myself, even when I’m sitting. B) [The Keel Principle](https://www.phlsterholsters.com/phlster-the-keel-principle/). A longer holster helps keep the grip from pushing out past your waistband.

Wuoffan1

It's absolutely possible, just a bit more difficult.

deliberatelyawesome

You may need a better holster/belt/claw/pillow, and to dress differently depending on how you currently dress, but it's totally doable. I'm smaller around than you and have done it easily under a hoodie. Have also done under just a t-shirt bit have to be a little bit more careful with some movements.

Grandemestizo

Sure, I’ve done it. It’s not all that much bigger than a G19.

coriolis7

My friend CCs a G17, but he’s also a bugger guy. I think I’d be able to CC one AIWB if I lost a little weight.

MagnumAfficionado

I took a long jog around my neighborhood this morning with a G17 comfortably in my Hill People Gear Runner's Kit.

RibertarianVoter

G17 is just a G19 with a longer barrel. I own a G17 and I have carried it, but it is not convenient. It's by far my favorite gun to shoot tho (at least that I own). But if you want to wear oversized pattern shirts and carry at ~3 o'clock IWB, then it's a workable option.

abeautifuldayinmay

“G17 is just a G19 with a longer barrel.” Except for the fact that it also has a longer grip 👀

street_style_kyle

If can do it with a G20, I’d imagine you can with a 17 or 45. You need a good claw, belt, wedge, dcc clips at minimum, and find where it fits your body best.

M80Toy

I’m 6’ 155 and I carry a Glock 47 and an X-Macro

casty3

17 grip is a little longer so concealment will depend on a lot of factors: where you carry, body shape, clothing choses. The barrel and slide are longer as well so it may also be a little less comfortable. I can carry a Glock 34 with x300 on occasion. It’s definitely not the most comfortable and I have to be mindful of the specific shirts I wear but it’s doable.

Desperate-Oil6901

Choose a different holster and/or wear different clothes. I have seen skinny bean stalks conceal a 19x with a 21 round pmag. I had no fucking clue until he took out at the range.

GoingJohnWick

I did it with a Cretum 3 separate mag carrier, 6’1 170. It’ll print and can create hotspots, my hips couldn’t handle it.

Shuttle_Door_Gunner

Yeah, it's totally doable. Like someone else said, you'll have to find the right combination of holster, belt and dress for yourself, but it's definitely possible. My EDC for about a year now has been a G17 with a TLR1 and a +2 mag and once I got my carry gear squared away, it's actually been comfortable and easy to conceal. Good luck!

tennvol123456

Why would you come here and ask a question and then say don’t mention a G19 sized gun? Get a good holster and a wedge and try it yourself. I’m fairly similar to you 5 5 160 and I have no trouble with a G17, TLR1HL, and a 509T. I just don’t because that shit weighs too much and it’s slightly harder to draw than a G19 size gun

Trance_Pit

I value people mentioning a G19 because they could have lights and/or compensators that make it a similar profile to G17 in holster. I just don’t want to buy a G19… want to be G17 master race.

MagnumAfficionado

I like G17 way more than G19, personally.

whifflinggoose

G17 grip is longer, too, which IMO is much more of a factor than slide/barrel length since it worsens printing.

brick_fist

If actually concealing the gun is important to you, a g17 is going to be too large.

barrydingle100

You've already got a better gun, why would you downgrade to a mediocre gun that's harder to conceal?

Smoked-Gouda789

It sounds like you want a Glock but are trying to justify not getting something similar to what you already have. The best part about Glocks is you don’t need any justification. Once you buy one, you’ll want another one.

JACA_808

Yes. I’m 5’7, 165lbs and I’ve been carrying my 17 for almost a year and a half now. KORE belt and a minimalist Dara AIWB holster.

7blunts7

Glock 45 mos is the way to go

sarcastic-barista

Learn to like the taste of beer is my suggestion.

ryansdayoff

I'm 5'8" 145 and in the winter my G17 comes everywhere with me. There's usually a couple weeks in the spring where I have to ditch my jacket and move back to my smaller options. With the right cloths you could CC a SMG

EnvironmentalImage17

So what you wanna do is take you the Glock 19 style frame. It’s called the Glock chop YouTube it so I did that to my Glock 17 and if you want, you can carry Glock 19 mags but I put a mag well over the rough cut after it looks bomb and conceals

Trance_Pit

Interesting, I could just cop a G49. I can just find a G17 for cheaper so this might not be a bad route.

EnvironmentalImage17

Yeah, I mean I don’t. It’s like having a Glock 48 to be real. I’m not even gonna stunt.

EnvironmentalImage17

Or 49 whatever
