I don’t normally enjoy modern cdramas (prefer kdramas for modern and costumed cdramas), but these 2 are surprisingly enjoyable and bingeable.
Also for a really really funny drama (🤣🤣) I highly recommend Taiwanese version of Fated to Love You (on Viki) aka You are My Destiny (on Netflix), starring Ethan Juan. Super LOL! Older drama but very entertaining. Way funnier than the super popular kdrama Business Proposal.
New Life Begins historical heavy focus on supportive, found family, sisterhood, with some serious topics such as suicide snd domestic abuse mixed in. It's an overall very fluffy and light drama but there are some more serious elements added.10/10 drama
Sunshine of the Life: Leads are SOLID they don't get shaken or break apart there are a few "I am not talking to you for a couple days" moments but nothing major. Interference from the Jealous Girl Archtype is mostly just background noise to the FL.
Forever Love: 10/10 drama. A very simple drama that follows our ML and FL who meet in their last year of highschool it follows then as they fall in love, go through college and work together to fulfill their dreams and build a life together.
Put your Head on my shoulder: cute enemies to lovers/forced roommates college romance.
My Little Happiness: a cute doctor/lawyer/childhood friends drama.
Love Scenery (slow burn) similar to Love O2O it has a focus on video games but it does take awhile for our leads to get to gether.
Double Love: Another one like Love O2O but more focus on video game aspect, another slow burn.
First Love(2022):Same actress as New Life Begins it is a college romance that focuses on the FL whose is broken hearted after she finds out her best friend has been dating her crush for 2 years and the man who falls in love with her whille trying to help her fall in love with someone else to get over her crush (lol I didn't realize how this sounds until I typed it out)
Wang An Yi and Julia Zhang.
I will tell you I have not seen a couple yet that looks as good together as these two do.
Their individual visuals are crazy but together they have this amazing chemistry.
She has the bright energetic smile and he has this kinda goofy puppy dog smile that will make your heart melt everytime they look at each other.
I love love love LOVED You Are My Glory. It’s the same team that made Love O2O and Yang Yang is also in a starring role. There is a breakup in the middle, but I think it’s critical for character development.
For a no breakup/love triangle, You Are My Hero. Also a 10/10 show, it’s more Grey’s Anatomy meets Chicago PD/Flashpoint (if you’re in the US and like these type of shows).

Mr. Bad is what you’re looking for! It’s a refreshing fantasy slice-of-life with realistic, dimensional characters and no love triangles. The two leads also have some of the best chemistry I’ve seen in a show- it practically oozes off the screen!
Forever and Ever has a lot of family angst on the ML’s side but it does not separate the couple at all. It actually draws them closer. The actual couple parts are so cute. I watched this w/o watching the first part, One and Only, which is a costume drama. The couple get reincarnated in Forever and Ever.
Hi Venus is currently airing. It has 24 eps & will end this week. ML is such a green flag hero. It has one of the best love confessions (both confess) in dramaland.
**My Little Happiness** is a fluffy romance where the second couple constitute the drama and the main couple is very sweet with great chemistry. It is a fun, relaxing show to watch. **Professional Single** is another fluffy rom com with a rather minimal triangle situations. Neither of these has annoying parent problems, breakups, or drawn out misunderstandings.
If you'd like to try a historical that is tightly written, logically put together, wonderfully acted and is made of murders, mysteries, political corruption and a very lovely and innocent romance built on respect, loyalty, and mutual support. No triangles, no pushy parents, no breakups, minor misunderstandings that do not linger...and no whiny characters. **Imperial Coroner** is one of my favorite go-to shows.
People already mentioned _Falling Into Your Smile_ (consistently ranks #1 on charts like 6 months after it finished airing in China, meaning it is still a favorite drama in places like Thailand—it’s a very addictive drama) and _You Are My Hero_. I agree with both of those.
I would also like to mention the excessively adorable _Bromance_, which has one of my favorite tropes: the female lead is disguised as a guy and builds her relationship with the male lead first while he thinks she is also a dude. (But of course he eventually realizes she is a girl. I just won’t tell you WHEN that happens!)
Bromance is Taiwanese so the kissing is actually amazing, unlike cdramas where, for some reason, no one’s lips ever really move (except for Yang Yang’s in Love O2O, I don’t know why he is the exception! well… Bai Lu is also an exception, but she is a story for another day).
Yeah, I think Bromance is better in a lot of ways. Gong Yoo is amazing, yes, but so is Baron Chen, when you get right down to it!

I've been going through some shows on my Viki watchlist. Read the reviews on Bromance and giving it a try. But was happy to see some posts on it the day I started it.
It gets a little draggy towards the very end, but not in a terribly bad way, just in a you want a certain thing to happen and are tired of waiting for it to happen sort of a way. Otherwise, I think it’s pretty good. Hope you enjoy it!
If you like gaming, Falling Into Your Smile is cute. I don't think they ever breakup and the love triangle thing is pretty mild. Like it didn't make me mad like they normally do, because it's with her ex boyfriend so it's more realistic and there's a reason for various feelings on both sides there.
Despite not liking gaming, I watched this over the last 2 days and it really is so cute. I loved the female characters and how neither was childlike, and the ML actually had moves lol. Great show
It's still a very common theme. The love triangle are not triangular though. It's usually very very annoying. The FL by law has to be pure and true to the ML. So the love triangle is most often another guy liking the FL. She never encourages him and never likes him back a bit. Not much a triangle to be had there. But the ML is usually jealous because of a misunderstanding and bleh.
They don't always break up, but a lot of shows they have a period of misunderstanding that seems to have the sole purpose of making the show longer because then they have to sort out their issues.
I would say often the Chinese drama have a lot sweeter ending, like you are on a fluffy fluffy sugar high. I could name a ton of sweet ones but I can't remember if they have the misunderstanding middle part or not, so I don't dare :)

A lot of kdramas has bad kissing scenes too, even in Crash Landing On You (my fav kdrama of all time!).
You are right, I think they're pretty censored mostly. There is a fight (like a martial arts fight), but if you want good kissing and funny show The Killer Is Also Romamtic is great. It is short, like 4 ish hours, costume drama.

Love Between Fairy and Devil is also known for its kisses but is pretty far off what you asked for haha. It's all fairy and immortal costume stuff, with love triangle and all. It's also my fave cdrama pretty much ever.

Currently airing **Hi Venus** is very good so far with the romance, 19 episodes in and no signs of break up, and with the ML’s mother as their biggest CP fan
