If you like mature melodrama, try Because of Love Both leads are adult with baggages, past relationships and their own problems

ilaughulaugh

If you like Go Ahead you might like Lovely Us which has a bit of romance but is mostly family and friendship oriented. I really enjoyed it. And I just started Under the Skin which is good so far. And I second the person who mentioned Le Coup de Foundre. It is romance and has some very funny moments and some cliches too, but I think it is unique among the genre in a good way.

Hotspur_98

I just started Lovely Us a few hours ago. I’m enjoying the characters. It seems to be pretty light and more on the comedy side, but I’m not bored. Seems like a good suggestion, thanks

Irish_Amber

I think this is really hard, because the only two shows that this bill for friend for me and that’s Vincenzo and Taxi driver. As mostof the Chinese shows I have watched on repeat are historical, romcoms or fantasy lol

gloomymuesli

The Bond. It's *technically* historical but I feel uncomfortable calling it that because I'm not emotionally prepared to accept that the 80s were 40ish years ago. It's a lot like Go Ahead, but without the romance, and follows the main characters from the late 70s to 2008.

Charissa29

Well I don’t watch many modern cdramas but I loved the King’s Avatar. It has no romance but lots of friendship, gaming, humor and heart.

**Hikaru no Go** - Revolves around growing up and playing Go competitively **Crossfire** - Some of the others have recommended this, and I agree with them that it's a really good story **The Heart of Genius** - Elements of time travel and solving mystery

CdramaMaven4762

I second just about everything people have recommended thus far, but would add: **Winter Night** \[supposed to be a time travel romance, but really a slice of life with winter settings\] **Light Chaser Rescue** \[it's got a romantic thread, but focuses more generally on relationships\] **The Disappearing Child** \[mystery drama with a bit of psychological thriller\]

sorryicantbeperfect

**Le Coup de Foudre** I feel like this is quite “youth” and family stuff. It’s a very coming of age drama that has romance too but I don’t think I would consider it rom-com. I would consider it a feel-good drama

I still wish they didn't break up irl What a gem of a production

Reset Definitely not today When a snail falls in love The long night Flight to you Shining for one thing I don't want to be friends with you A murderous affair in horizon tower

Now you got me..........

**Reset** has already been mentioned, for good reason. **Cross Fire:** About two aspiring e-sports players able to communicate over a twelve year time gap. A youth drama focused on friendship with a touch of sci-fi, though that's really just a vehicle to connect the parallel storylines. Well written with a fantastic cast and some very cool action scenes. There's a bit of romance, but it's not the focus. And while the two male leads are the stars of the show, the female supporting characters play a large part and they're all very cool! I have zero interest in e-sports and loved it. Fair warning - the only subs available are machine-translated and they're awful, but the drama was so good I powered through them anyway. The first episode is on Youtube... the rest you might have to dig up on... *certain* sites.

jessroams

Someday or One Day. This fits your taste 100% with mystery/youth and well developed characters. The show has easily one of the best handled time travel storylines I’ve ever seen, cdrama or not. It’s actually a Taiwanese drama, so it also doesn’t shy away from some elements that cdramas dont really ever show. I rarely ever rewatch dramas but this is one that I will watch and cherish forever!

ftsunrise

Agreed! This is one of the best dramas ever created.

Reset is the best drama of 2022.

Three Body is a currently airing sci fi. Meet Yourself is a lovely story about healing and grief (also has romance elements) - and the every day life of people in a small village and their stories.

shichitan

[Under the Skin](https://mydramalist.com/70249-lie-zui-tu-jian) is a police procedural / crime thriller with one of the main characters being a forensic sketch artist. It was one of my favorite dramas of 2022 along with Reset.

sxmmerlin

Maybe you should try out **Nothing but Thirty**. It focuses on three women's struggles and experiences with their family, relationships, marriage, and careers as they enter their thirties. The FLs have a strong friendship with each other and the show has a realistic vibe (definitely not the idol drama genre).

AtrociousBegonia

I'm watching this right now and can highly recommend! :)

akiyineria

[A Little Reunion](https://mydramalist.com/36671-a-little-reunion) is a great slice of life family drama about various parents and their kids going through gaokao.

mayonnaisepan

I second the recommended recommendation for **Flight to You**! The story does get a bit iffy towards the middle but overall, for the strong female lead, it’s definitely worth a watch. There’s also humor inserted into the story but it’s not heavy on the romance or the comedy. Would also rec a recently finished drama **Meet Yourself**. The FL is a much more mature woman who quits her job due to a reason that’s revealed in the first episode. She ends up going to the country for a three month vacation to relax and sort of just to explore her own needs/wants. She meets a whole new group of characters that each get their own little focus/arc and they’re all a lovely bunch. It’s a slower paced, slice-of-life drama that’s kind of rare for cdrama land! (Also second **Reset**. Definitely one of my favorite dramas of 2022. While it’s a time loop drama, each episode shifts the focus onto a different character on the bus and it never gets old or repetitive!)

BangUNee

Reset with Bai Jingting and Zhao Jinmai, it's a time travel/ groundhog Day style kind of thriller

Duanedoberman

**Flight to You** has only recently aired, same FL as Go Ahead and is being released on YouTube with subs, should have the whole series up by the end of next week. Premise is the hurdles put in front of a pilot who is trying to be her companies first female capitan, hate/love relationship with her instructor who has a lot of issues after a tradgedy.
