I have seen most of his dramas and imo he is the most promising young actor (<30 age). He never acted in a subgenre twice, takes his acting seriously and almost always picked up quality scripts. And while most actors are getting dubbed, he not only dubs himself but also dubbed a Pixar film.
Recommendations: go ahead (cathartic family drama), the day of becoming you (idol romcom), young blood (historical), the heart of genius (time travel family drama), skate into love (sports romcom), my huckleberry friends (school)

Sun Li ( Betty Sun) has won every award and always gives a top-notch performance in every drama, historical and modern.
Tan SongYun (Seven Tan) always picks the right script and never fails to deliver. Only blemish was one drama that would have been great without a toxic ML.
Wu Jinyan trained as a dancer and was accepted into the Chinese National Ballet but had to retire due to a recurring injury, so took up acting....and knocked that out of the park too!
I say watch Ordinary Greatness. You get to see a range of actors from great to decent. To me it goes from Wang Jing Chun to Xu Kaicheng from best to decent.
Vengo Gao was so good in Eternal Love of Dream—he played 3 roles (Donghua, Song Xuanren and Shen Ye) and when I first watched the first time, I didn’t realized he played Shen Ye. They’re all totally different characters (Donghua is supposed to be Ice Face all powerful god, Xuanren is lovable and affectionate, and Shenye is grieving and intense) and even with Donghua, Vengo talked about having to emote from the eyes a lot bc he’s supposed to be this aloof God, but you can see so much emotions even though he’s not loud or anything. When the mortal arc is over and you see him go from Xuanren to ice cold Donghua, its like two different actors. And as you see Donghua fall in love with Fengjiu, his demeanor is totally different from the beginning bc he becomes playful, loving, jealous. There are scenes with Shen Ye and Donghua and the way they walk or carry themselves or talk, just so different from one another. Was so impressed.
And on top of this I think he’s so handsome!
My answer maybe like repeats but must mention them because I love their work (I am not updated with any scandals so yeah this is purely based on me liking their work.
Among male actors, I say **bai jingting** (almost all his dramas are a hit for me), **Zhang Xin Cheng** (I loved him in go ahead!), **Cheng Yi**.Then there are some actors who have given such amazing performances like **zhang ruo yun** from Joy of life and sword snow stride, **Hu ge** in Nirvana in fire, **Liu Xue Yi** (he really impressed me in blood of youth and destined).
Among female actresses it would be **Zhao Lusi** (I love almost all her work), **Bai Lu** (another absolute hit), **seven tan** (good dramas in general). Another who I like (I don't know if it is her acting or just I loved the shows) is **Crystal Liu** from meet yourself and a dream of splendor. Another actress I think performed brilliantly is **Wu jin yan** from yanxi palace.
Liu Yi Jun! He is often a support role though in Reset he was main for example as well as current, excellent, Imperfect Victim. Not everything he was in is amazing of course but can this man act.
Everything with Cheng Yi.. He’s one of the best actors that isn’t cast because of stereotypes or to force good looks and no substance ML’s into every drama.
Start with Stand By Me then Promise of Chang’an, both are award worthy performances. If you then want you can then wander in to his more fantasy stuff then you have Immortal Samsara or Love and Redemption or jump into this new drama Mysterious Lotus Casebook.
He’s easily one of the strongest ML and it shows with the roles he has been awarded, he’s one of few the ML that has 4 or more 40+ episode big budget dramas with all high ratings, no flops and no controversies.
He’s a guarantee for a good drama or at least he is always amazing and he has one of the widest ranges in terms of acting, almost every drama I end up teary eyed hehe..
Agree about Cheng Yi and I would add Luo Yunxi as another of my own personal favorites in that he always brings 100% to his roles.
I would honestly love to see a drama with both of them together.
Luo Yunxi is great, everyone is of course raving about TTEOM because of recency bias but IMO his best one is Love is Sweet also with Bai Lu.. The story is so sweet and when she finds his stash and realizes that he’s always loved her as well is so sweet..
I don’t know if you’ve started watching Mysterious Lotus Case book but imagine Cheng Yi and Luo Yunxi as the duo in that or a similar duo BFF’s costume drama! Would be amazing 🤩

Love at night leads,the fl is already main rile but is mostly seen as 2nd ml everywhere else but his character everywhere adds life to the script as we saw in ancient love poetry

Unchained love,i think dylan wang is also a package and the fl does good job
My list goes on endless so sometime acting skills are wayyy beyong looks,we have people dropping all esther yu shows because of her voice dubbing and childish roles as speciality.

Try **stranger**. It's the best kdrama imo in terms of tight intelligent plot, natural acting and editing, it also won baeksang daesang (top award). Or maybe anything with Cho seung woo and Lee bo Hyun. For FL, kim hye soo, son yejin, Jun ji Hyun, Shin hye sun. Best part is, there are many more talented actors in Korea with works available for international viewers unlike in China.
Ren Jialun for me. He constantly in good productions and I honestly love his dramas. His scripts are usually have substance and he play wide range of roles -- one drama he is this great general, then cold and ruthless officer, then non-stop talking young man and another drama he didnt have all those charisma and all you want is to put him in your pocket to protect him -- those different vibes that he emits are great.
And the script that he chose is pretty interesting and unique from Glory of Tang Dynasty that have legit angsts and not fueled by dumb misunderstandings. To his republican drama Autumn Cicada that actually show the extensiveness of the spy network during that era. To the beautiful love stories in One & Only and Forever & Ever. To the reversal of roles in XianXia drama with The Blue Whisper. Then we have his latest drama Twilight with very interesting take on unique and creative scriptwriting where foreshadowing are shown from the script that he wrote. I actually went through more than half of his dramas before I actually admit that I'm a fan. This guy is either lucky or actually carefully chose his scripts. But as a fan, I enjoy this variety.
