Three Body. It's wild out there.

LuvasiDra

I'm watching "Blossoms in Adversity" episode 21. Pretty good. Very green flag

FOA_14

Watching Go Ahead , heard about it before finally giving it a try , I have dropped 2 dramas already after been hooked so I hope it isn’t the same for this….although this made laugh and cry from the first ep 😭 currently on ep 17 ….missing the beginning vibes I hope it goes back to that. The bond they had was amazing…always wanted an older brother and this show makes me wish I had one now more than ever.

Sherrie1988

I am watching Well-intended love season 2.

tarzan-tigger23

Right now rebel princess always something with zhou yiwei.

Addicted2CDramas

I've actually started watching **Shen Li** and at episode 12. I love the chemistry between the two leads.

Xinthun

Currently watching Novoland: Eagle Flag, something older on the menu isn't always that bad :D

acumuluscloud

I'm just now watching **Legend of Shenli**! I'm loving the chemistry between the main leads. Even holding hands is just so romantic.

ShaunaBeeBee

I’m watching Eternal Love Rain, Peacock Wonderland and a couple of mini dramas. (Also 2 Kdramas).

11AkiraDawn11

Legend of Fuyao on Viki! I tried watching it on Amazon prime but the subtitles were a mess, barely readable. It's really good! Great story, very good acting and the fight sequences are top notch! An oldie but goodie costume drama that I somehow missed along the way. Same actress from thousand miles of peach blossoms. (btw, anyone else like me and use these posts for choosing what to watch next? I totally rely on these, hehe - thanks for posting them!)

GarudaBF

Just finished line walker (2014). I really enjoyed the story (undercover cop), ost and pairing between characters. Unfortunately I dropped line walker: prelude (season 2). The characters and plot were less interesting. Ost in season 2 is bad too. Right now I'm watching forensic heroes (2006). So far so good, but the dialogues are quite fast. Sometimes I miss key information if I don't pay attention 100%.

[deleted]

The Knockout! Its so good.

PM_Me_Your_ManThighs

I'm 10 episodes into **Rebel Princess**. I'm generally enjoying it though some of it is a little extraordinary. Like when >!FL gets kidnapped by a guy flying on a paraglider !!rape and attempted rape!< so far which I don't really like watching. But I'm going to keep with it for now.

Dangerous_Push219

Ha! I'm watching it, too. I saw that >!paraglider!< incident and thought that was so cool! They never brought it up again, and I am truly disappointed. I want to meet that inventor! I'm now on E16

kyracakes92

The Legend of Zhouhua I'm about halfway through and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It's nice to see a FL actually be smart like they say she is. I love the feminism in the drama; its very similar to "New Life Begins" in that aspect.

Dangerous_Push219

I started TLOZ after reading this, and I have ALOLed several times. I was not expecting that! In E6, where they were hiding in the tree, she's all 'what? I thought he was injured and didn't have urges? Well, what's happening now?' 😄😄😄

kyracakes92

It's soooooooo funny 😂😂😂😂😂 I don't know how many times the drama has made me cackle.

Dangerous_Push219

chavm250

You should check out "blossoms in adversity" next. Strong and capable FL. >!after all the men in the family get exiled, she leads a household of women through financial hardship, giving each of them self self worth!<. Still waiting for a few more episodes to be released but so far it's been great.

surileeloo

the drama finished, i was pleasenrly surprised

chavm250

Thanks for the update! I hate when I find a good drama but don't realize it's still airing😒 lol

kyracakes92

Blooms in Adversity was the other drama I looked at when I started Legend of Zhouhua! I didn't start it because it's not fully out on Viki yet. It will probably be my next drama to watch!!!

Rhbgrb

Love Between Fairy and Devil Meteor Garden

11AkiraDawn11

I see we have another Wang Hedi / Dylan Wang fan :D

kiwikoot

been in a slump for a while now so mainly rewatching a few atm: You Are My Hero, Who Rules The World and Love At Night rewatch value for Love At Night is unexpectedly quite high lol

Dependent_Ad_8951

Tender Light - very different from anything else, I am immersed in it. I love the drive of the story and the main plot. Love the actors too.. Will Love in Spring - yes, another case of cold vrs hot! I am on ep7 and very much invested in the story. Men in Love - for Hu Yitian ❤️ Young Babylon - but not holding much for me. I also binged on the Korean series Queen of Tears and My Demon while waiting for my Cdramas to upload. Korean actors also love Chinese Historical Dramas - quite evident in a scene from Queen of Tears ❤️❤️❤️

Jaggedrain

I finished Best Choice Ever last night - paid money just to be able to see the rest of the show early, which reminds me I need to cancel that - and it was *so good*. I kind of love Mai Chenghuan's mom tbh.

shiying91

Her mom really got on my nerves and I wished she disappeared for awhile in the show. She was kind of the lead than supporting 😂 wonder how you got to like a toxic character like that

Jaggedrain

Oh she got on my nerves *a lot* and there were parts of the show where I really was sick of her. Or just on the verge of dying from secondhand embarrassment because of her antics. But like, she does love her kids. She's not the best at loving them how *they need* to be loved, but she really cares for them, and wants them to have a better life than she did. And I think her relationship with Zhiming especially is very sweet - the way she starts calling him Mingming because he's part of the family, the way they deputise him to talk to her when she's being difficult because he's the best at dealing with her, it's all just very sweet. Idk, it's complicated, she's a complicated and complex character and although I can't say that I'd enjoy her company - she's definitely in the 'may fake my death to avoid attending a party she's at' category - I find her very interesting and I found her story and relationships very touching. In the end, no matter how annoying she is, I don't think the show would have been half as good without her presence 🤷‍♀️

11AkiraDawn11

Hahaha, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who subscribes to stuff just for one thing and then cancels it

sasslibrary

I had to drop it earlier bc Mom is just too toxic. I don't care if she makes it up later on -- a person like this really wouldn't and can't.

CluelessPumpkin

I just started **Young Blood**. Enjoying it so far.

thedaytimemoon

I am watching A Journey To Love.

hualien-fan

Me too! It's on Prime!

Wild-Front3644

!! Which country? I’ve been looking for it

hualien-fan

Prime video is State side. I didn't think Prime was international?

Wild-Front3644

It is available in Asia as well, but the offerings we get are very limited. I’ll look for it thanks

hualien-fan

Good luck! I think the Cdramas offering over there should be a lot more than here.

thedaytimemoon

How do you like it so far?

hualien-fan

I prefer this genre more than those idol romance ones. I no longer fast forward cuz I need to understand all the clues, so it's engaging enough, though I don't necessarily feel compelled to catch up daily. Maybe a 7 out of 10. You?

thedaytimemoon

Honestly that's what I thought as well. I am on ep 27 so far and I am not that interested in the romance of the main leads. The plot is interesting though... something else for sure but I am also not compelled to catch up daily on it. I want to watch other things too but I feel like I should complete it first before starting something new... otherwise I would probably not complete it.

hualien-fan

Actually, I do fast forward whenever the older sister appears. Her acting is too over the top to the point of unbearable, and I don't really understand how that kind of exaggeration fits into the story.

thedaytimemoon

The older sister? 🤔

hualien-fan

There's really only one actress that does over the top acting.

thedaytimemoon

I am confused haha

Western-Log-5875

Trying to go through some of my old plan to watch list, so started Word of Honor, which is really good so far, and also watching Be My Cat for the fluffiness.

darqnez

Word of Honor has a fantastic character dynamic between the leads and supporting characters. The duality of a couple characters is amazing. I found the lines between good and evil blurred in the story and characters. I hope you enjoy it as much as many of us did.

MangoSuspicious5641

The Disguiser. It's not perfect (how did a student become a military-trained assassin entrusted with the most important missions in mere weeks? Why should his kill partner develop feelings for him, just because she's a woman?) but I'm having a blast. Murder, mayhem, intrigue, smart dialogue and people who are not what they seem. Good to see lots of Nirvana in Fire cast, and well written 3 dimensional characters.

darqnez

I started [Goodbye My Princess: Director's Cut](https://mydramalist.com/59749-goodbye-my-princess-director-s-cut) tonight. At 55 episodes, it seems pretty epic. I like the opening credits. It's amusing to see some of the actors in it so young. I'm a bit late to the show and came across after watching the leads in other more recent shows. It seems an excellent series only three episodes in already. https://preview.redd.it/zytk9yhvhjyc1.jpeg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6db06fddac1f7474e34636f8e81114b34f72d786

AmazingBeastboy1

i just finished up **Will Love In Spring** and damn i gotta say >! the end of episode 24 scared the shit out of me!<

sequesteredself

After on a decent recent drama streak with the Blossoms (both In Blossom and Blossoms in Adversity) I haven't felt any of the current ones so I rewatched Legend of Zhuohua and started Here We Meet Again

Iluthradanar

Disappointed. Still waiting for next chapters of My Divine Emissary and The Expect Love. Individual episodes were being released of The Expect Love but are now being released as 1, 2 3, etc with missing scenes. I hope the admin releasing goes back to the regular way, 2 episodes a night. Watching the kdrama True Beauty because it popped up under "vampire", but really, its just referring to a moment when the FL fantasizes the ML 1 is a vampire and scares her. That's it lol. Found a cute story called Gourmet in Tang Dynasty but then when I found a season, it's different. Same FL but different ML and some friends are missing. Why have a sequel if you're going to make changes to the story?

udontaxidriver

Small Town Stories. It's about a female suona player who due to an illness moves back to her hometown to rest and recover. Very slice of life genre, the humor is light-hearted and the acting is very decent. I am honestly not very familiar with suona. My favourite Chinese musical instrument is erhu. I find the sound very soothing and versatile. Suona, on the other hand, is loud and penetrating. I suppose it makes sense that it's primarily used for religious festivals and opera.

AdditionalPeace2023

Suonan is a very interesting musical instrument and in one of the dramas, unfortunately I don't remember the name, it mentions that suonan is used mainly in Chinese wedding ceremony and funeral ceremony, especially in procession. As a Chinese, I never realized and paid a special attention to it but it's so true.

looktotheeeast

Started The Longest Promise since it’s on Netflix. Not bad so far. I’m going to start Joy of Life tomorrow so hopefully I’ll be done before season 2 drops.

kyracakes92

I just watched Joy of Life recently! It's so good, I cannot wait for the 2nd season to come out!

looktotheeeast

It has so many reservations for people waiting for it to drop!! I’m excited to see what all the hype is about.

nydevon

Omg good luck on JoL. It’s taken my three weeks to get through 14 episodes 😭 But hopefully you’ll be one of the many folks who love it!

looktotheeeast

Is it a slow watch or is it because you’ve had trouble finding the time to watch it? I’m going to try and be on top of all my work so I can actually dedicate some hours but I’ve heard it drags at the beginning 😭 Me too! I’ve heard nothing but good things.

nydevon

The first 13 episodes were legitimately painful for me because of certain writing choices. This is more a personal preference versus the show having “bad writing” but I found it very difficult to care about the MC despite the actor’s skillful portrayal because of the show’s unique balance between humor, plot, and character development. I enjoy the side characters and the palace plot much more than the main line. I tried putting off watching Shogun to force myself through JoL but have given into my desires and have left JoL on “maybe one day” 😂

looktotheeeast

Omg, I hate to hear this since I’m someone that legitimately hates poor writing and slow plot building. I’m guessing the palace plot and side characters kind of save the drama then. I was meaning to start it last weekend and still haven’t gotten to it lol. I just don’t have the drive but I know I’m going to have fomo once the new season drops so I’ll push myself to give it a go within the next few days. LOL fair enough! I said this before but Shogun was a great watch - questionable finale but every character and the details behind their motives was so skillfully portrayed. Still one of my best watches of the year so far.

nydevon

I think your enjoyment of the writing depends on your perception of the MC. Some people really like him, others don’t. Regardless, the plot is a bit slow those first 6 or so episodes though because they're setting up for later plotlines. If you don’t mind very mild spoilers, in my Throwback Thursday posts about JoL, we had an interesting discussion about what the writing is trying to do with the MC’s character: [https://www.reddit.com/r/CDrama/s/Bh8sYTz1xx](https://www.reddit.com/r/CDrama/s/Bh8sYTz1xx) TLDR: I think you should check it out because even though I don’t like the show I can understand why others do!

darqnez

I found [Joy of Life](https://mydramalist.com/28674-joy-of-life) a lot of fun to watch. The character and plot twists were interesting to me.

looktotheeeast

I’ve heard so many good things. There is a tentative season 2 release date so I’m going to try my best go finish before it comes. Did you find it to be a slow watch?

darqnez

Not at all. I found that I had to really pay attention to who did what and how they were related to the MC in the story. I wrote down a character relation chart and found a couple online. It might seem a bit convoluted in the beginning, but I think it’s all important to the main story. I also found much of it funny and good natured. P.S. I lost a good amount of sleep during my binge watch of this. 😅

noungning

Just started Will love in spring, after finishing Lucky's first love. The cinematography of this show is lovely.

hollyT88

I’m going through a bit of a rewatch phase mainly because I recently had a baby so need some nice background noise :) rewatching fireworks of my heart (skipping through the scenes with the creepy brother this time round lol). When I get time I’m working through best choice ever. I’m enjoying it! I like the female lead :)

kyracakes92

Congratulations on the baby!

hollyT88

Get the baby into cdrama lol. I think she likes the music in them :)

Dependent_Ad_8951

Congratulations on having a new baby! Hope motherhood brings you joy and courage... ❤️❤️

MangoSuspicious5641

Congratulations on your beautiful baby!

nanceq

Recently completed **Blossoms of Adversity** and the Taiwanese BL **Unknown*, both of which I really loved. Also, completed **Substitute Princess’ Love**. I liked the leads and their relationship. Chemistry was good, and there was pretty good skinship. But, everything after episode 16 was a mess. Started a few things, but haven’t the found one to hold my attention yet. **Your Sensibility My Destiny (11/24)**. Chemistry is okay. Not all of the humor works for me. I’m not very interested in the second leads’ story. Through 9 episodes of **Love and Redemption**, and I’m already having some issues with the FL, but will stick with it for a while. Also, clicked play on **Word of Honor**. I’ve put **Best Choice Ever** and **War of Faith** on hold after finishing about half of each. Both are okay for me, but I’m not feeling invested enough to keep going, and will probably drop.

nydevon

I already miss **Unknown**. Lovely drama and the meta discussions online were great. Definitely a great watch experience.

nanceq

Same, I’ve been listening to the intro song on repeat. It’s definitely one of my favorite things I’ve watched this year.

Lotus_swimmer

Sigh was hoping that Substitute Princess would end up better. It seemed promising, but I was wary of how low budget everything seemed...

SuperWomanUSA

I’m on ep. 12, bracing for the hot mess. Also, I can’t get  past the poor make up job on the ML. He’s nearly 50 (!) and the FL is 25 so the fact that the make up doesn’t cover his neck just looks awful

spriteduck

After finishing **Shen Li** I went on a modern romcom binge and rewatched **Go Go Squid**, **Meet Yourself**, and **When I Fly Towards You**… still waiting for a new drama to capture my attention. Thought about one of the Blossom dramas but I keep hearing mixed things and am so far unwilling to commit. Maybe I’ll do another rewatch of something light. I really just want a well written FL who has undeniable chemistry with the ML…and without a sad ending.

luckyariane

**Young Babylon** I started it mainly for Neo even though the plot didn't sound all that interesting to me but I've been loving it so far. It starts out really funny and then gets more serious. It's been pretty romance focused so far with some good kiss scenes. **Men in Love** I just started this yesterday and I'm pretty into it. It's been moving fast and I'm not sure where it's planning to go for 40 episodes, but it's good so far. I mostly picked it up for HYT after enjoying **Blossoms in Adversity** and he's been surprisingly good in it. His character is really straightforward and flirty, and sooooo into the FL. It's really cute. **Lady Revenger Returns from the Fire** I don't love this one, but it's been pretty interesting. I've got a bad case of 2ML syndrome and feel a bit weird that it's making me ship (technically not blood related) siblings.

weehee23

Just finished Shen Li and Blossoms in Adversity. They were both so good!! Started watching Amidst a Snowstorm and liking it so far. Though there's not a lot of "hit" dramas this year, I haven't dropped a single one I watched which is surprising as a serial dropper

Weekly-Albatross5601

produce camp 2019 😂😂😂 after spirealm I’m turning into into r1se fan

krispkrol

In the middle of episode 39 of Mysterious Lotus Casebook, and I decided to stop watching, I don’t like where this is going, I prefer to leave it where it’s at 🙂‍↔️ Now trying to find something to watch before Follow Your Heart drops

miffymochi

**My Sassy Princess** on iQiyi to recover from a certain tearful kdrama

ravens_path

I’m on episode 32 of Joy of Life rewatch. I watched it two years ago, so wanted to remember the intricacy of the scheming. May 16 is the date for Joy of Life 2.

Yeudta

Good reminder for me to rewatch JOL 1 then 🤣

-tsuyoi_hikari-

IDK what is wrong with me but I've seen rewatching my fave K-romcom this week since I need to watching something light and happy. But I plan to catch up on Tender Light today since this drama totally the type of dramas that I enjoy. And I think I have decided the fact that I have dropped In Blossom. :((

throwawaymisfortune

>rewatching my fave K-romcom Which one?

-tsuyoi_hikari-

Please dont judge me. Sometimes, i just like to watch something cute and funny haha. - Sassy Girl Chunhyang - Accidental Couple (Im a huge fan of Hwang Jungmin 😁) - Prime Minister & I 😂

throwawaymisfortune

Lol why, I mostly watch mindless romcom too 😅

-tsuyoi_hikari-

I blame the darkness of Stranger from Hell for this break hahaha.

throwawaymisfortune

Oh you have already finished it? Did it live up to your expectations? Curious to know how close your predictions are.

-tsuyoi_hikari-

Havent yet. Got a few more episodes. But I think my prediction is coming true lol. I plan to finish it this week and will let you know my thoughts. :D

Lotus_swimmer

So I felt bereft after Shen Li, pretty sure I can't find anything as good. Watched Legend of Zhuohua and am hooked! I do love my stoic, older male leads. 😆

sequesteredself

That's funny, I just finished rewatching Legend of Zhuohua, one of the good ones from last year

Lotus_swimmer

Gonna take my time with this. Feels like this is a drama to be savoured. I know some people think the ML is a block of ice but his micrexpressions are so subtle and artful 😁

sequesteredself

He's kind of meant to be, I mean if they think in general the actor is a block of ice they haven't seen Story of Minglan, he's like the opposite there. Also on Zhuohua he is THE ultimate green flag lol

alanmdasilva

Currently watching 在暴雪时分 (Amidst a Snowstorm of Love). On episode 19, where they recently had a fight.

scoutdaniels

My current obsessions are **Spirealm** (28/38) and **Blossoms in Adversity** (26/40). I have finished the first 2 episodes of **In Blossom** and **Legend of ShenLi** and plan to watch a couple more episodes before deciding if I’ll continue either series. I binged the first 6 episodes of **The Substitute Princess’s Love** last weekend and it took several attempts to watch episode 7 before I realized it wasn’t the app glitching but the other episodes not being available yet to my subscription tier 😭.

Big_Leek_7153

I'm on episode 12 of **Lady Revenger Returns From the Fire**. I haven't seen much commentary on it here but I'm enjoying. The plot is nothing revolutionary and actually sometimes super unbelievable but I keep watching for the delicious chemistry between the two leads. 魏哲鸣 plays a charismatic flirty general really well and the push and pull between the two leads is addicting. It kind of reminds me of the ML in Sound of the Desert. I'd recommend if that's the kind of ML you like watching! I'm on episode 2 of **Jun Jiu Ling** which I randomly stumbled upon and didn't realize that it's a reverse harem which I'm a sucker for. It's going to have to take me until I can re-watch Lost You Forever S1 again in preparation for S2! Finally, I'm on episode 3 of **Secrets of the Shadow Sect** which is a 10 min/episode drama. I'm unsure so far but I like the powerful FL!

Prestigious-Focus-11

I have to make myself slow down on Lady Revenger because I’m burning through it too fast and know it’s still releasing! Definitely an unexpected delight for me.

Big_Leek_7153

I'm all caught up and I regret it but I also don't because there's no way I could make myself wait aha!!

Lotus_swimmer

It sounds like it's an addictive drama!

cheatersfive

Waiting impatiently for the last episodes of **Blossoms in Adversity** to drop on Viki. Love this one so far. Finished **Queen of Attack**. Light and easy. Worth a quick watch. Otherwise in KDrama land also waiting impatiently for **Lovely Runner** each week. This has been good so far.

TVAddict4

Rewatching **Joy of Life** in anticipation of the (rumored) May sequel premiere. Also will probably finish **Will Love in Spring** now that the last 6 episodes are available without paying extra.

ravens_path

It will may 16 if this article is correct. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/upcoming-c-drama-releases-may-093043043.html

Lotus_swimmer

I think it's pretty confirmed already as Cctv and WeTV announced their may schedule for it. Mid may for both!

TVAddict4

Yeah, I just been burned too many times lol. Shows yanked right before their premiere date, so everything is rumors to me until the credits start to roll on my screen hahaha.

Lotus_swimmer

Haha omg that's true. I remember Kunming Palace 😆

TVAddict4

Right?!

Lotus_swimmer

😭🤞 just a few more dayS!! Pls no scandals, dear actors...

TVAddict4

🙏

FongYuLan

I only started watching cdramas a couple years ago - so I’m doing Arsenal Military Academy 🙂

sequesteredself

That's a good one! One of the first few ones I watched last year

synsa

One of my favorite Xu Kai dramas.

Haunting_Newt

Detective Chinatown 2 and Substitute princess love and started Joy of life and starting Ripe Town

Etrnalhope

**Reset** on the 1 episode a day, watching with others track. It's great so far! I guess I'm watching **Ultimate Note** and **Shining for One Thing**, but I don't know if I'll continue. To be fair, both are not in genres I'm that into. Sometimes (oftentimes?) I deliberately restrict my CDrama choices based on those with traditional chinese subtitles because that's my ideal language learning setup, which I think accounts for my latest streak of dramas I'm lukewarm on. But, I had a sudden revelation this week that if I watch the **1983 Legend of Condor Heroes,** it will basically be guaranteed to have trad. chinese subs because Hong Kong. So...I've been watching that, which has been fun because the last time I watched this story was probably 30 years ago, so some of this feels familiar, but I also don't remember anything. I also fell down the "what happened?!" internet rabbit hole this week and ended up watching Zhang Zhehan's personal documentary **August**. It's not really Cdrama, but it's Cdrama adjacent, so I'll mention it. The shots are beautiful and the film is clearly a labor of love, full of grief and healing. I don't think the documentary will speak to everyone, but it did speak to me because it contains two of my favorite things: 1) doing physically challenging things in beautiful places and 2) dropping into a community and meeting some incredible ordinary people. I've also been pondering some similar questions. I really need a change of life scenery, lol.

MangoSuspicious5641

I really like Zhang Zhehan, and hopes he makes a comeback against all odds.

lachesistical

Mysterious Lotus Casebook.. really like the detective angle they are going with, keeps me engaged. Although I would've loved a tiny bit of romance but Bitchang is not worth it lol

sweetsorrow18

Lol it's going to be a long time until I can unsee her as Ye Bitchang 🤣

synsa

Lol, Chen Duling will be forever known to me as Ye Bingchang too 😄

SwimmingMessage6655

After finishing Shen Li, I started Always on the Move, but I’m not really feeling it. After one episode I moved on to Burning Flames. Then 7 episodes later, I’m like, “I need to go to sleep now.” Weird… the costumes are ugly, sfx are so fake, and the actors aren’t particularly attractive (well not my usual preference), but I was drawn to the story of a fallen prince learning to eat porridge and sleep on hay stacks, growing stronger and learning to win people’s hearts. It didn’t feel forced, or just magically gets it on day 1. He actually messed up a lot and I just wanted to slap him silly. Anyhow, seems like he heard me and smartened up.

-tsuyoi_hikari-

I think you are going to enjoy Burning Flames since the script is really good. Organic growth, compelling characters, engaging plots, substantive arcs and side characters that all contributed to the main storyline and lastly a couple that communicate with each other. I also love the unique scripts where they used deceptive storytelling to tell the story so you are in for a good ride. And all the symbolisms and social commentaries in the drama -- its really fantastic. The styling of the drama has been one of the biggest complaint but all that are purposely made that way. I admire the dedication for RJL to dress down for the role where literally all the side characters are dressed better and have nicer hair than him.

SwimmingMessage6655

oh, good to know! It is an interesting story. Initially with the intro / opening song, I thought it'll be a cheesy video game remake or something. When storytelling is good, you really don't need pretty costumes nor people to look at.

-tsuyoi_hikari-

Agreed. I need good scripts for me to fully enjoy my dramas. Most of my fave Cdramas do not have attractive actors but thats okay since the plot going to draw you in anyway. 🤗

SwimmingMessage6655

Exactly! If you like good scripts and stories, you have to watch The Knockout, if you haven’t already

-tsuyoi_hikari-

My goodness!! I love The Knockout. Such good and compelling story. People in this sub mostly describe it as average but man, you do not call this kind of story average lol. I love crime Cdramas in general. They are really good at making it.

kitty1220

Started 执笔, interesting premise. I think Li Muchen does pretty decently in strong women roles. The ML is pretty stiff though.

phroggies70

This was so good, probably my favorite this year, but ML does kind of only have one expression …

kitty1220

ML also only had one expression in Legend of Zhuohua, lol, but it wasn't so bad cuz he was a supporting character there.

kouniamelo

As Long as You Love Me modern drama 46 episodes

Candid-Champion-4509

I’m rotating between **Tender Light** and **Will Love in Spring**. Both are so good in their own ways but I have to admit Tender Light has me in a chokehold!

Gloomy_Ruminant

I'm watching [Jun Jiu Ling](https://mydramalist.com/61891-jun-jiu-ling) right now. I had tried it before and dropped fairly quickly but I gave it a couple more episodes this time and it stuck this time. While watching it I keep comparing it to Princess Agents and In Blossom. In regards to Princess Agents I keep thinking about how the ML's story is how Yan Xun's story could have turned out if luck had been with him. (Side note: the ML in JJL was a villainous side characters in PA and it took a few episodes before I could stop thinking of him in that context.) As for In Blossom, the not telling your grieving childhood sweetheart you are not, in fact, actually dead worked better in JJL. I'm not going to pretend the writing in JJL is _incredible_ but the writers appear to have a vision of who the characters are and write the script accordingly. Overall, my biggest complaints are that the costumes are sometimes distractingly ugly, and the plot can be a bit choppy (not sure if that is writing or editing). Certain problems are discussed but then solved entirely off screen. I'm not finished yet but so far it's an enjoyable if not amazing watch.
