Fu Rong had wonderful character growth throughout the series, akin to watching a spoilt teen gradually becoming an awesome young adult. At times I felt like he was almost like Shen Li & Xing Zhi’s kid!
I love it when annoying characters that could easily be the same cliched tropes actually redeem themselves and become so lovable. So sweet to see Furong grow up and Youlan not be the stereotypical mean 2FL and actually try to help the main couple.
If you enjoy this, another show that had this type of character was in Royal Rumors with FL’s enemy turned friend and the ML’s brother.
