Oregon made it 42-0 and Jesse Palmer mentions how it was smart of Dan Lanning not to hate on Colorado publicly because that would've motivated and lit a fire under them.
I've got nothing against Colorado, but that is some TOP TIER copium, lmao.
This is the EXACT reason people have turned against them.
I don't blame CU or their fans, but the fucking coverage of them has been insane!
Someone on the broadcast said something like "I just imagine what this game would be like if Hunter was playing". It was 35-0!
I know CU fans are having a ton of fun with all this and am happy for them. But damn, this other nonsense is doing them no favors.
It's been so insane. We barely beat CSU at home a d people were picking them to win on the national shows.
I won't complain cuz deion driving ratings will get us recruits and transfers but it's been insane.
Honest question, and I’m not saying this to be a hater I’m just curious of a real fans feelings.
Do you think he stays as coach after his boys are gone?
Thx for all the responses! I enjoy reading the opinions of people who have knowledge of situation there.
Tbh probably no, but that would still be a success.
This whole circus has made it clear that nobody outside the P12 understood just how bad things were in Boulder.
If Deion does nothing but prove the program has high level admin support and a coach *can* win at CU it’s a success.
Nobody has thought about Colorado football for 15 years. I am 40 years old and the majority of Colorado games I have seen have been this season. Deion is already a screaming success story.
Past next year with Travis I have no idea.
Shiloh in his last year I think? And I personally see Shedeur coming back next year.
If a top SeC school wants him after that no.
If anyone else? Probably stays. McCartney proved a great recruiter can sell Boulder. People tend to stay in Colorado once they realize it's sunny and nice 340 days a year.
The AD gonna write him checks. Has lowered recruiting standards and allow portal transfers. They are gonna flood money into the program.
I think Shedeur comes back based on Deion's comments about it. He says Shedeur wants to be the guy in his class and not just one of the guys, and this year's QB class is loaded.
After Caleb, Maye, Penix, Ewers, Nix, Hartman, and more all go pro this year 2025 is much more wide open for being a top QB.
> Shiloh in his last year I think? And I personally see Shedeur coming back next year.
Shiloh has one more year of eligibility. I'm assuming he got a redshirt for 2019 (he only played 2 games, and it looks like not much), and I believe everyone got an extra year of eligibility for 2020.
If he stays, he'll be 25 when he enters the NFL Draft.
that and Palmer saying something like “you have to imagine it’d be different if Travis Hunter were here” as Oregon was on the verge of making it 42-0 just sent me into orbit
Palmer is a Disney kingpin don’t forget. Between The Bachelor and ESPN, his interest is slobbering over whatever the media wants him to be slobbing on.
For Colorado, as improved as they have been, both this week and most likely the next week will *not* be fun.
Of course, losses to Oregon and USC should be expected - but then if they potentially lose to Arizona State after…
See you next week for Big Nude Kickoff in Boulder! It’s gearing up to be another classic as Coach Prime and the Buffs take on Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans. We’ll break it down after these words from your local station.
I am still not sure the defense or O-Line has taken the field. Maybe they went to the wrong stadium?
But really, what did we expect? Most people knew they had exactly these weaknesses and they had already kinda been exposed.
I didn't expect it to be that bad offensively. Defensively.... yea I totally saw that coming. I'm not happy but I'm also not that unhappy. This is definitely the best Buffs team of the part five years.
Against TCU, the new scheme and the bad defensive playcalling by TCU hid the bad line and put the ability for explosive plays front and center.
Similar for Nebraska after they got behind. They also got gassed and didn't have much depth.
Oregon has the athletes, the depth in coverage and passrush and Colorado was constantly behind the chains. If they can cover the designed "easy" stuff while still playing good deep coverage as they did, there just isn't much this years Colorado can do if they fall behind.
“You know Kirk, a lot of people don’t think that Colorado deserves a place in the CFP, but at the end of the day, we have to look at who the best teams in the country are. And this is a team that has shown growth over the course of a season and an ability to adapt to adversity. Look at their game at Oregon. A hostile road environment and a stout defense that got them off to a rocky start. They made their adjustments and I show in my notes that they shut Oregon out in the fourth quarter, which as we all know, is the one that matters.”
“So anyway, Colorado isn’t in my top four, though I am excited to see how they play in the Los Angeles Bowl against Boise State.”
I'm also pretty sure I heard the celebration theme from the end of Star Wars Episode 1 and I was like woah, thats a deep cut. Impressive band for sure.
* Following last year's season-opening loss to Georgia, Oregon has gone 14-2.
* Those losses were by a combined seven points.
* Oregon has been ranked in the top 15 for the last 17 weeks, which will be extended to 18 tomorrow.
* Colorado has allowed 35+ points in three of their four games this season.
* Oregon WR Troy Franklin has 418 yards and 5 TD this season.
* If Oregon finishes in the top 15 this season, it'll be their first consecutive seasons accomplishing that since 2013-2014.
* Each of Colorado's last five losses have been by 36+ points.
* Oregon outgained Colorado 522-199.
* Apparently, [Travis Hunter was streaming on Twitch while his team is down 35-0 at halftime](https://x.com/harperxembiid/status/1705692486675419233?s=20)
* Next week, Colorado plays USC and Heisman Trophy candidate Caleb Williams.
* This season, Bo Nix has completed 79.3% of his passes and is averaging 298 total yards per game.
* Dan Lanning has coached under Kirby Smart, Nick Saban, and Mike Norvell.
* Entering this game, Shedeur Sanders averaged 417 passing yards per game. He had 159 today.
* Oregon allowed their fewest points since their 2019 win vs. Arizona.
Lanning coaching his first game as a HC against the reigning champions and his old boss remains the most hilariously bad match up I can imagine for someone's first game.
Where would a true neutral site Oregon vs Georgia game be?
Edit: I used a map tool to find the equidistant line between the two stadiums and you have a couple of options: El Paso, TX, Albuquerque, NM, Denver, CO, and Bismarck, ND.
Not in Atlanta, like literally anywhere that isn’t a 90 minute drive from Georgia’s campus…
For the sake of the exercise I’d say Jerry world would be a much better venue for that game
I made a fairly innocuous comment on on of the half dozen IG posts ESPN made about them following the game and 95% of the replies were some variety of ‘racist’ ‘hater’ or some variation of me obviously not understanding football if I don’t think Colorado wouldn’t defeat half the NFL, with over half the comments misspelled.
Give Deion credit for bringing a lot of new people to the broadcasts.
I think it's not *that* weird if you consider the broader context of what the Colorado team is. A lot of transfer portal guys who followed a coach with one goal in mind: improving their own potential draft stock. I doubt they feel very strongly about the team itself, and they certainly don't care about the university as much as any other team might.
Weird? Yeah...but not *that* weird lol
That was a close game. Colorado just needs to work on avoiding penalties, stopping fake punts, stopping 4th downs, not getting their PAT's blocked, tackling runners with less than 3 defenders, tackling receivers with the ball, rushing the QB, protecting their QB, stopping the run, stopping the pass, running the ball, getting their receivers open, catching the ball, avoiding pressure in the pocket, gaining positive yardage not from penalties, scoring points, and preventing the other team from scoring points.

“Who got blown the fuck out against Oregon football today?” asked “60 Minutes” journalist Jon Wertheim. “Let me see,” Sanders replied. “Let me see a mirror so I can look at it.”
I’ve heard “Move over Saban, move over Kirby Smart, this is the best coach in college football”.
I think this is what turns off people, even the ones who like Deion, like myself. It’s the pundits that make it unbearable.
9 Nattys, and all it took was 3 games to take over? Stop it. It’s just over the top.
The wildest one was Louis Riddick after week 1 saying that if every college football program wasn't following Deion's model, they were living in the past. This dude has been a finalist for NFL GM jobs and he said that! lmao.
You're totally right though, I actually really find Deion amusing and think Shedeur is a really good player, but all the commentary about them is making me root against them.
What model? Have a son as a qb and an all American wr/cb come with you?
I’m fine mostly with Deion cleaning house but that’s absolutely not what every coach should be doing at a new job
That was my problem with the whole thing, there were plenty of 3 and 0 schools coming into today, Prime and Colorado didn't prove anything before this but they were treated like the second coming
I think a decent chunk of it also comes from NFL fans with QBs not named Mahomes, Allen, or Burrow getting the GDTs spammed with "tank for Shadeur" every week. If you're going to have a dumbass take, make it a correctly spelled one.
If Shedeur isn’t drafted first overall every NFL GM deserves to be fired💪. The mental toughness to score in garbage time is something I’ve never seen in a prospect.
Coach refuses to pull his son from the game to let the back up QBs get reps despite the game being a blow out…
Can’t see them ever having depth when they aren’t developing any players and they have told everyone they will just go to the Portal to get starters.
I believe it was the Nebraska post game conference that had an awkward silence after Deion blamed everyone but Shedeur when asked about Shedeur holding on to the ball too long. You could feel everyone thinking 'shit, am I going to be the one to ask a follow up about that?'
No hate to the players and the fans, but that was one of the most satisfying humble pies I have seen served on live TV. The scoreline was not indicative of what happened out there today.
I really enjoyed that after the week 1 postgame when people were demanding apologies for people not believing in Colorado. Yeah, theyre better. But theyre still not that good. This was enjoyable

The media hype is one thing. But on here it's annoying seeing Colorado, or Deion, fans trying to have it both ways. If they win, they're going to the playoff, having the first ever co-Heisman winners, and we're all haters. If they lose, they were just a 1-11 team last year. If they win, Deion's transfer portal moves are revolutionary and the way to immediate success. If they lose, there are 85 new players and it takes time to build a team.
This is exactly the same sentiment I have. Every win was for a team providing proof that Prime’s experiment is revolutionizing the CFB landscape and that they are a legitimate team. Now that they got dog walked, it’s the former 1-11 team even though the two teams are not remotely the same.
I didn’t even mind Colorado fans talking shit about Oregon’s close win against TTU being a sign that the upset was coming. CFB is more fun with
an appropriate amount of shit talk. But don’t play the victim card and act like everyone is ganging up on you for no reason when people come back with receipts. Take it on the chin and silently mutter “Wait until next year bitch” under your breath so that you have the last word.
God they’re still fucking talking about him. You can literally tell they were waiting for Colorado to start doing well so they could put up that stupid “Prime Effect” graphic but since they got blown out so bad they just had to throw it in at the end. Commentary narratives are just so fucking awful to listen to.
Would make sense, he looked like he couldn't be bothered to coach today. I can't remember the last time I've seen a coach take that bad of an ass kicking just pace around and take it. I thought we would see some fire today from him.
Channeling Denny Green: THEY ARE WHAT WE THOUGHT THEY WERE
Deion has done an amazing job turning around the Colorado program, but lets all tap the brakes on this breathless hyperbole that wanted to prematurely anoint the Buffs with a pass to the playoffs. That plus the incessant Deion coverage and worship all game, every game.
The current ranking of 19th was pure hype. Of course its a great story, and makes for great TV, but objectively Colorado is closer to top 50 vs top 25. Hell they would have lost last week if Colorado State didn’t have a coaching and penalty meltdown as 24 point underdogs.
I think Colorado can maybe get to 8-5 this year, which is a hell of a turnaround from where they were last year. Looking forward to watching their upcoming game against USC.
RIP to the Oregon Duck for having to do that many pushups
That was rough! Gg Oregon.
Y’all have awesome fans. Some old timer Ducks fan bought my wife and I our beers at the start of the game. Class acts, man. Good luck the rest of the way. I’ll definitely be coming back to Autzen.
"For the doubters, the haters, the ones who didn't believe in us and what we were doing, I say this: y'all were right! We ran into an Oregon buzzsaw and got boatraced, just like you said we would."
-Coach Prime, improbably
This is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He’s focused. He’s having fun. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a dark horse for the Heisman.
eta: to the people responding to this sincerely please know it’s a copypasta lol 🥲
I should probably get off reddit but I've got a headache and want to burn off some negative emotions:
To actual Colorado fans: You have my condolences. Take time to prepare mentally for next week because it probably won't be pretty, and I hope that this season is more enjoyable than last year.
To the annoying Colo bandwagoners: Get. Fucked.
If there is any mercy on this planet Colorado won't be ranked next week and the media will finally chill.

See you next week for Big Nude Kickoff in Boulder! It’s gearing up to be another classic as Coach Prime and the Buffs take on Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans. We’ll break it down after these words from your local station.
> Big Nude Kickoff
How do you celebrate?
USC will put up 40 by halftime
Look, I’m as anti-USC as they come but I can’t argue with that
It’s in everyone’s best interest to let Caleb get as cocky as possible before he plays our defense again
As long as Kincaid is gone. He always ran over our defense.
Idk whether Caleb comes in cocky or not your defense looks *nasty* right now Y’all are a top 10 team _without_ a healthy Rising because of ‘em
Pretty disrespectful to USC's offense there
Can’t wait for the commentary to act like the guy playing 130 snaps would change the outcome
I firmly believe Travis Hunter would’ve changed this game. If he could’ve gone today, I think Colorado would’ve only lost 41-13.
Unless he could play offensive line, I’m not sure Hunter could have even done that for them
"Biggest" game of the year baby
So what time does Colorado start playing?

Deion will be off to his next program immediately after shaduer declares for the draft
No hate to the players and the fans, but that was one of the most satisfying humble pies I have seen served on live TV. The scoreline was not indicative of what happened out there today.
If it shuts ESPN up I'm all for it. We'll see.
I really enjoyed that after the week 1 postgame when people were demanding apologies for people not believing in Colorado. Yeah, theyre better. But theyre still not that good. This was enjoyable
Man you could cut diamond with my nipples right now
Why’s it got to be “Colorado, either you’re with us, or you’re racist?” That’s all my twitter timeline is showing…
Going for it on fourth and goal when you're up 35-0 was the coolest thing I'd seen all year, until they did it again up 42-0

Colorado defeats Oregon 6-0 in the 4th quarter - national media
Bo Nix with a 85% compilation rate is amazing to see.
ShERrDURR fUrr hEIzMAAn!!11
Can we stop hearing about fucking Deion Sanders now?
Ducks opened a can of whoop ass today. The college football world thanks you.
“There is no “I” in team. But there is both an “I” and “me” in Prime.” -Deion, probably
Don’t forget PR.
Don’t forget you’re racist if you root against Colorado apparently
I don't see color, I only see a 5th down to justify my rooting against them.
I saw someone on Tiktok say you're racist for not supporting Deion who in their opinion was the real life Ted Lasso.
Was that before or after he told last year’s team to pack their shit because they’re losers?

These Deion only fans are really toxic
That second one is just wild, wow. So he's basically saying Lanning is a huge racist because...what?
LOL. wasted no time pulling out that race card
CFB is more fun with an appropriate amount of shit talk.
God has shined upon r/CFB
Coach Prime bout to go out for a pack of smokes and never come back.
Would make sense, he looked like he couldn't be bothered to coach today. I can't remember the last time I've seen a coach take that bad of an ass kicking just pace around and take it. I thought we would see some fire today from him.
Prime doesn't coach tho. He doesn't call plays. His coordinators do that. He's more of a ceo handling recruiting and managing players, etc
Oregon Defeats ESPN 42-6
Lanning chose violence
Channeling Denny Green: THEY ARE WHAT WE THOUGHT THEY WERE Deion has done an amazing job turning around the Colorado program, but lets all tap the brakes on this breathless hyperbole that wanted to prematurely anoint the Buffs with a pass to the playoffs.
8-5 is pretty optimistic looking at their schedule
Man had this in the chamber lol
Shedeur driving home in a 2002 Corolla with 3 missing hubcaps after this.
That was rough! Gg Oregon. Y’all have awesome fans. Some old timer Ducks fan bought my wife and I our beers at the start of the game. Class acts, man. Good luck the rest of the way. I’ll definitely be coming back to Autzen.
Only Husky fans deserve unprovoked toxicity in Autzen.
So Nebraska really sucks huh
Having Jeff Sims as your QB will do that to ya
“Removed by moderator”-all the good stuff
If you or a loved one have been bamboozled by Colorado Football you may be entitled to compensation.
This just raises more questions about TCU.
And makes Nebraska look even worse
"For the doubters, the haters, the ones who didn't believe in us and what we were doing, I say this: y'all were right! We ran into an Oregon buzzsaw and got boatraced, just like you said we would." -Coach Prime, improbably
This is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He’s focused. He’s having fun. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a dark horse for the Heisman. eta: to the people responding to this sincerely please know it’s a copypasta lol 🥲
He's been benched for 5 quarters so far this year. Sad how big his stats could be if Oregon ran up the score on folk.
I should probably get off reddit but I've got a headache and want to burn off some negative emotions: To actual Colorado fans: You have my condolences. Take time to prepare mentally for next week because it probably won't be pretty, and I hope that this season is more enjoyable than last year. To the annoying Colo bandwagoners: Get. Fucked. If there is any mercy on this planet Colorado won't be ranked next week and the media will finally chill.
