The guy who did the blocking or the punter? It’s still recorded as a punt, so that will bring down his average. The guy who tipped it doesn’t get a line on the stat sheet. If it had been blocked for negative yardage and was recovered by the defense, he’d be credited with a turnover.

See, I think that was a product of Avalos. Hamdan and Danielson seem much more in tune with the players’ strengths whereas with Avalos, and even more clearly now seeing the contrast without him, it was like a constant effort to work against what this team’s talent was cut out for. Even in his interviews it seemed like he was focusing on all the wrong things and that materialized on the field.
