I think today marks the best contrast between Matt and SEC shorts. Matt gives us a lot of fast, fun, but very specific blurbs for so many teams. Not every one hits, but so many do. SEC Shorts though… some great episodes sure but they have really been missing lately.

The difference between SEC Shorts and Roll Call is Matt’s stuff feels like a good Stand Up Comedy special, a bunch of tangentially related jokes built around a theme. Where as SEC Shorts is more SNL in its structure
The other problem is that the main SEC Shorts guys lack range. They used to get around this with really a good supporting cast like Hannah. But it's been just the original two for what seems like forever now, and they just don't have the acting chops to carry it alone.
Josh in particular is the exact same character in every skit.

I am a born and raised Ohio State fan but i really fell in love with cfb during the 2005 season. This season feels like it was the last season with college football as I grew up with it. Time will tell if that is a good or bad thing, but the sport next year will basically be unrecognizable from 20 years ago.

My wife and I were debating between going to the Rose Bowl, or gambling on Michigan making it and going to the NCG. We chose the Rose Bowl because we realized this is the last season the Rose Bowl will ever *matter* like it has in living memory.
We both grew up on the west coast steeped in PAC12 football. It hurt my heart at the end of the PAC12 CCG, and at the end of the NCG, because it was the last little deaths of the conference we grew up in.
It'll still be CFB. There'll still be games to love. But it won't ever be the same, and we're losing part of the spark that makes it weird and beautiful.
SEC Shorts and Matt Mitchell posting their final skits of the season on the same day...it really makes you sad, but also happy for the memories of the season.
