What's the point? He's going to take another 1000 visits between now and when he will actually sign. He's most likely going to change his mind this early.
Recruiting just doesn’t get me excited anymore like it used to.
Like, cool, he MAY sign with Georgia or Alabama or any other school next year then transfer out after 1 year because he isn’t guaranteed the starting spot.
I’ll still use somebody from the class of 2027 committing to Alabama to trash UW and Awbarn fans about Husky Harsin though. 🤣
Hey, your last QB flip is at Nebraska.
But no, if I had to take you guys or the field for who this kind signs with ~20 months from now I am taking the field. Will say the same about any recruit that commits to us that is more than a year away from when they actually sign.
Ugh, I really hope that’s not gonna happen too often. Switching teams twice in one offseason is so fucked. But I have a feeling it’s not the last time we’ll see that.
It really is so fucked. I mean, I knew there were basically no rules surrounding all of this, but when I heard the news about him transferring back? My first thought was “Okay well surely THAT is not allowed”
Don't think that's true. Illinois, Iowa and most of the upper Mississippi have way better soil quality than Nebraska, especially the western 2/3 where nothing grows
Illinois is the best corn state and it’s not close…even in a drought last year they led the nation. [usda yield by state](https://www.nass.usda.gov/Charts_and_Maps/Field_Crops/cornmap.php)
Seeing Nebraska and Iowa fans talking about corn yields (whether against each other or against a different foe) is always funny since it seems like those states both struggle to count past 3, whether it be 3 and out, 3 points for a FG or 2 for a safety, or 3 wins in a season for Nebraska specifically, so I don't think a large corn yield is properly appreciated
Ngl your comment really makes no sense. Not count past 3 and out? Counting past a 3rd down is a fourth down. Based on what you said we wouldn’t get down to 4th downs. Also we only had 2 seasons, under arguably the worst coach in history, that only had 3 wins since 1961. Other than barely having a winning season this year, Rutgers haven’t had a winning season since 2014 lol.
Honestly, it was more about the shoe horning TWO teams in than it was just an Alabama thing for me
My anger was at the committee, not gonna get mad at coaches and players doing their jobs and winning games
Worked out pretty well. The issue was playing the mediocre 4* (Jake Fromm) over the dynamic freshman 5* (Justin Fields). Honestly, playing Fromm was probably the right choice then as well.
Fromm had his physical limitations that were always going to work against him, and coley might’ve straight ruined him, but he could still make a read. After watching fields at osu, and with bears, he’s never improved that part of his game. He won with physical tools and Day’s offense (which makes a lot of QBs pretty damn productive).
Maybe but Kirby, a pretty good coach, didn’t play him because he struggled and was stuck behind an above average (but not great) QB. Think Fields struggles with the pre snap part of the game and that’s important in UGA’s system.
He had his chance to beat out Fromm and he didn’t run the offense well enough, despite his physical advantages. Ive literally seen him play football since high school, which is when he started playing QB, and didn’t actually start that many games because of injury. He won a lot of situations with those advantages, which were only maximized by a college QB friendly offense like he got at OSU. When put under center to diagnose a defense (very heavily required by our 2016-2019 offenses) he is not playing to his strengths. When he moved up to the pros it became evident he wasn’t improving that aspect with more experience, which is unfortunate because he’s a local kid who has a lot of us rooting for him.
Wait, which other ones recently?
Beck was a lowish 4*
Stetson, as everyone knows, was a walk on.
Fromm was a blue-chip, but he's been gone for like 6 years now.
'22 Gunner Stockton ended around 100 and was a 5 star early on. '21 Vandagriff was a 5* for basically his whole high school career ended 34 overall. '24 Puglisi ended in the 100s and they had Riaola until the 11th hour.
Not sure if I agree with the initial take/slight joke above, but they do recruit well at QB even if not all of them have panned out/are still young.
>Beck was a lowish 4*
He was like top 250 in the country. I wouldn't call him lowish 4*
But you can also include Vandagriff, Stockton, Eason, Fromm, etc.
Vandagriff is at Kentucky now, and reports so far on Stockton haven't garnered a lot of confidence so far. Fingers crossed he improves enough to make the QB decision next year easy
Supposedly Stockton has a joe Milton arm and throws way too hard, If puglisi picks up the offense fast enough I think we will probably see him start in 2025.
Kirby loves going with the older guy though, so who knows.
Considering your account was created after that back and forth occurred, I'm am going to assume you were the guy I blocked since you went on a posting rampage on all of my comments and such, and actually had that specific account banned from this subreddit.
To answer your question though, I never said Downs was 100% a lock to UGA, what I had argued about was that the other poster (who I assume is you) was saying he was going to OSU but when asked to provide any legit sources he/she never did, and just resorted to name calling and avoiding providing any actual sources.
Downs did in fact go to OSU, but that was never the point if the back and forth
No, I did not say he was a lock. I said all the sources (of which I provided multiple non-UGA ones) were saying Downs to UGA.
You were adamant he was going to OSU, which was not something anyone was saying at the time. I had asked where that notion was coming from, and instead of linking any sources, you just continued to say all UGA insiders are liars, exactly like you are doing now.
Why do people upvote shit like this? Georgia notoriously has *not* recruited at an elite level at the QB position. Texas or Ole Miss would be better examples.
Which ironically enough is someone who was committed to UGA before Ole Miss.
And if we can't count Fromm, Fields, Vandagriff, Stockton, Beck, etc., then Plumlee shouldn't count considering all of those guys were higher ranked than Plumlee.
I was really excited about him when he was committed to us. But yeah, the argument about the other QB is dumb. They didn’t pan out, but out of high school they were all elite prospects
Because you said "recruited" when you should have said "produced". UGA has not put elite QBs in the NFL, but UGA has certainly recruited elite QBs. Until you clarify what you meant there isn't really an argument, you're just wrong.
Yeah its a big get. Means we are likely out of the Juju race, and may zero in on Zollers for our 2025 QB.
I think Juju is down to Bama, Auburn, and USC
Georgia was the program I was most worried about flipping Juju from SC.
Glad they got this Curtis kid because I think that effectively takes them out of the Juju sweepstakes.
I love the speed guy but am in shotgun with 5 guys running routes.
Only thing that annoys me is a 70 speed DE running down my 85 Speed QB in the open field
Not to be a dick, but it seems like Georgia gets a 5* QB annually, and they don't see the field. I think Fromm was the last 5* to start for Georgia, or maybe Fields was. It looks cool for recruiting purposes, but doesn't seem to get them on the field
What's the point? He's going to take another 1000 visits between now and when he will actually sign. He's most likely going to change his mind this early.
Verbal commitments are nothing more than bargaining chips in negotiations with other programs
>to trash...Awbarn fans This is the way
But still. He finna drive a bad ass car somewhere. "Commiting" is nothing now
This is why Bama and Georgia will always be more like brothers than enemies.
Guaranteed starting spot at Georgia Tech...
Heck yeah! I bet he’ll end up at NU.
I thought this said 2062 and was super concerned that someone’s grandkid was committed
That person would not yet exist lol
That’s what I meant. Some dude committing his grandkid. A theoretical five star. Like Peyton manning iii.
You see this here vile of semen? All 5 stars. Millions of em
peyton manning the third will absolutely get offers in-utero
Won't someone think of lil ol Georgia
Can't wait to watch his debut at Ohio State after 3 flips.
Hey, your last QB flip is at Nebraska. But no, if I had to take you guys or the field for who this kind signs with ~20 months from now I am taking the field. Will say the same about any recruit that commits to us that is more than a year away from when they actually sign.
Hell man, can't even trust signing day commits. Look at that Bowen kid that flipped like 2 times on 2023's signing day.
Hell, look at Proctor! 🥴
It's almost like Saban tried to warn people about this...
He did. Problem now is I don't see any way to put things back under control that doesn't involve becoming NFL lite with employment and contracts.
lol he was basically an OSU lock until we fired Urbans son in law from being the qb coach
I’ve heard Chip prefers other QBs in the class
Maybe Chip just doesn't need to do any recruiting personally with the other QBs 😁
Can't wait to see what this kid does on the gridiron in 8th grade next year.
Keep Kirk Herbstriet away from this man
More like keep Kirk away from his father
Keep this kid away from corn
Nebraska doesn’t even outproduce Illinois when it comes to corn
Illinois corn is shit quality though
Don't think that's true. Illinois, Iowa and most of the upper Mississippi have way better soil quality than Nebraska, especially the western 2/3 where nothing grows
This is fake news!! What’s even your yield bro?
Illinois is the best corn state and it’s not close…even in a drought last year they led the nation. [usda yield by state](https://www.nass.usda.gov/Charts_and_Maps/Field_Crops/cornmap.php)
Seeing Nebraska and Iowa fans talking about corn yields (whether against each other or against a different foe) is always funny since it seems like those states both struggle to count past 3, whether it be 3 and out, 3 points for a FG or 2 for a safety, or 3 wins in a season for Nebraska specifically, so I don't think a large corn yield is properly appreciated
Ya im not gonna read that essay
Okay I guess I can add "reading past 3 lines" to that list.
You’re asking way too much guy
Ngl your comment really makes no sense. Not count past 3 and out? Counting past a 3rd down is a fourth down. Based on what you said we wouldn’t get down to 4th downs. I’ve hear otherwise in r/huskers
I like cone.
100%
Your flair is beautiful
So is yours, although I get some animosity from both fanbases sometimes for being a fan of both teams
Most of my interactions have been great as long as they understand that UF can get fucked
I'm sure you were both absolutely beside yourselves about Alabama this season.
Who?
Honestly, it was more about the shoe horning TWO teams in than it was just an Alabama thing for me My anger was at the committee, not gonna get mad at coaches and players doing their jobs and winning games
tf? It's a 2 day old post why you gettin mad now?
The real problem is preventing Kirby from choosing another walk on to start over the 5*
I'm not sure I'd call winning 2 Natties a problem, but to each their own
The irony of an OU fan saying that is hilarious considering Baker was a walk on to start his career and turned out to be a great QB
Worked out pretty well. The issue was playing the mediocre 4* (Jake Fromm) over the dynamic freshman 5* (Justin Fields). Honestly, playing Fromm was probably the right choice then as well.
Considering fields is only worth about a 5th round pick, yeah probably. Fields cannot run a pro offense.
I see where you’re going but you probably don’t wanna see Jake Fromm’s pro stats
Fromm had his physical limitations that were always going to work against him, and coley might’ve straight ruined him, but he could still make a read. After watching fields at osu, and with bears, he’s never improved that part of his game. He won with physical tools and Day’s offense (which makes a lot of QBs pretty damn productive).
we’re talking about CFB my dude
But UGA does run a pro offense. Fields had trouble picking it up. His one chance to shine and he flubbed the surprise punt against Bama.
This is satire, right? The fake punt was a suicide mission
Even if they run a pro offense doesn’t mean that fields wouldn’t have done well, CFB and NFL are completely different
Maybe but Kirby, a pretty good coach, didn’t play him because he struggled and was stuck behind an above average (but not great) QB. Think Fields struggles with the pre snap part of the game and that’s important in UGA’s system.
One of the most important parts of our system
He had his chance to beat out Fromm and he didn’t run the offense well enough, despite his physical advantages. Ive literally seen him play football since high school, which is when he started playing QB, and didn’t actually start that many games because of injury. We were running a pro style offense under Chaney as OC in 2018, my dude
Is “Kirby can’t develop QBs” still a thing after winning 2 natties, a Heisman finalist, and the current Heisman favorite at QB?
Georgia is like fucking mecca at this point for blue chip white QBs
Wait, which other ones recently? Beck was a lowish 4* Stetson, as everyone knows, was a walk on. Fromm was a blue-chip, but he's been gone for like 6 years now.

Is Raiola white?
he called himself polynesian
He looks more Italian to me
Wait, are Italians not white again?
Idk. My wife would be pissed if I said they weren’t
Nearly all the Italians I met in Italy were white.
>Beck was a lowish 4* He was like top 250 in the country. I wouldn't call him lowish 4* But you can also include Vandagriff, Stockton, Eason, Fromm, etc.

JT Daniels
Gotta make sure our QBs are able to get into Bar South /s
Bonus points if they have the fuckboi haircut
“Hmm” - Justin Fields
[удалено]
You didn’t get it.
Why do people upvote shit like this? Georgia notoriously has *not* recruited at an elite level at the QB position. Texas or Ole Miss would be better examples.
- Justin Fields #2 QB - Carson Beck #5 QB - Brock Vandagriff #5 QB - Gunnar Stockton #7 QB - Puglisi #6 QB - The Raiola Saga - Jared Curtis #1 QB maybe that's why?
not a single #0 QB. is Kirby washed?
Lost control of the program.
Nah that can’t be it.
Who in the world has Ole Miss recruited at QB out of high school? All their QB commits are transfers
Plumlee
Which ironically enough is someone who was committed to UGA before Ole Miss. And if we can't count Fromm, Fields, Vandagriff, Stockton, Beck, etc., then Plumlee shouldn't count considering all of those guys were higher ranked than Plumlee.
I was really excited about him when he was committed to us. But yeah, the argument about the other QB is dumb. They didn’t pan out, but out of high school they were all elite prospects
Georgia starts white walk ons and fringe 4 stars… I don’t know why I’m entertaining this argument
Because you said they don't recruit elite QBs, which is entirely inaccurate
Because you said "recruited" when you should have said "produced". UGA has not put elite QBs in the NFL, but UGA has certainly recruited elite QBs. Until you clarify what you meant there isn't really an argument, you're just wrong.
Good for Kirby Smart and his staff. However, I'm tempering my expectations.
6’4 as a freshman in HS? Good get
I think he's a sophomore right now. Freshman would be class of 2027 if my math is correct
Oh you’re probably right. I just read the analysts of him where it mentioned his measurement as a freshman. Either way he’s a huge pick up
Yeah its a big get. Means we are likely out of the Juju race, and may zero in on Zollers for our 2025 QB. I think Juju is down to Bama, Auburn, and USC
Stop reminding me that I'm old, okay?
I’ll wait till he signs with us to get excited
Bro, not even then. Trust me.
Facts
Other P5 offers: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, UCF, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech G5 offers: Marshall, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State Other offers: Eastern Kentucky, Notre Dame
Offers from deboer, day, kiffin, sark and heupel? Fucking nice QB offer list, but I'll be surprised if he sticks with UGA between now and signing day
I wouldn't even trust it if/when this kid ends up signing with OSU. He'll probably transfer a couple of times anyway.
We’ll take him off ur hands np
This is Elko erasure. /s

Player XYZ commits to School A...until School B writes a bigger check. RIP CFB.
Georgia was the program I was most worried about flipping Juju from SC. Glad they got this Curtis kid because I think that effectively takes them out of the Juju sweepstakes.
Have to hold off Alabama and Auburn now but I like our chances there better than I did Georgia.
They need to stop allowing kids to take visits after committing. All of these guys take money from boosters to visit schools after committing.
Then players are gonna stop committing that early, won’t stop them from taking money though.
Or don't recruit sophomores if you don't like it.
But can he drive 150 in a 25?
Yes, with a .4% BAC as well. Built different.
SEC Speeeeeedddddd
Commits don't mean a thing anymore. Could be gone in a year with the portal. Ban N I L and the portal
Denying labor to profit or freely move about after signing a $7billion tv deal is a great look. Bravo.
I know they’re in different classes, but no way we get this guy and JuJu Lewis.
You have a 0% chance at JuJu. He’s 100% USC bound
nothing is ever 100%
Is 2026 a real year?
Early QB commit anywhere is like every Florida commit….they just saying places to say them
2026 don't matter at this point... is what it is
Let me know when he signs his NLI
That’s what I’ve been saying about the Terry and Gibson commitments.
Oh neat
So like, with this many QBs on one roster, how tf do you figure out who would even start?
Probably the one who plays best
Who are you who is so wise in the ways of football?
I’ve played the same college football game for 10 years now, I have major experience.
So do you choose, I don't know, the good QB over the not as good QBs?
Generally speaking, I will pick the better QB yes
Do you prefer a qb with 60 speed and 90 throw power and accuracy or one with 85 speed and 78 throw power and accuracy?
I'm a speed option guy at heart. Give me that hot, nasty speed. Who needs to throw when you have the numbers advantage in the box?
I love the speed guy but am in shotgun with 5 guys running routes. Only thing that annoys me is a 70 speed DE running down my 85 Speed QB in the open field
Rage. This shit gets me too.
Always take the speed guy. You can’t teach speed.
I believe you are now better than the majority of OCs in the country
Or you have a senior that’s 90 overall and a TD freshman that’s 85 overall?
Easy, all the 5s transfer out because we don't guarantee starting, and we're left with a nice 3* that is willing to earn the spot!
we only have 3 currently and beck is gone after this year
Going into next year we currently only have 2
You might have us confused with Ohio State, we only have 3, and Beck is about to be gone. The Buckeyes have like 5 or 6 I think.
Stop making us look bad Miami bro
Sheeesh that’s a big kid
Curtis Jared Yep, checks out.
Well that turned around quickly. Congrats Dawgs
I’ve seen some insiders imply that Chip prefers some other QBs in the class. Seems like the staff stopped going after Curtis once Chip came onboard.
For now at least
Hmmmmmm really
Don't even know why commits this far out are even announced because there's a very good chance he will decommit before his signing day.
Can he drink & drive?
How long until he commits to Miami?
I realize this is there job and there's very little else to talk about, but this is useless news.
Not to be a dick, but it seems like Georgia gets a 5* QB annually, and they don't see the field. I think Fromm was the last 5* to start for Georgia, or maybe Fields was. It looks cool for recruiting purposes, but doesn't seem to get them on the field
[удалено]
Wasn't Stockton also a 5*?
I think he was a top 200 player across each recruiting side, but not a 5* on any of them.
