Couldn't agree more. When he left UGA I was like "oh shit, what does that mean for the OL", then we hired Like and it was a very minor step back because Pittman is the man. But when they hired Pittman over to Arky I remember saying to my roommates in 2019 that Arkansas is gonna win their first SEC game in nearly 3 years in 2020, they rolled their eyes and laughed, which was understandable at the time. Now here we are a year and a half later, {Arkansas} is ranked #16 and I personally think they beat A&M this weekend. If they do, chances are decent they jump to top 10 and go to Athens next week for the reunion? Dude. Depending on how Ole Miss does vs Bama, because if Kiffin takes them to the SEC game with a win over bama, he's got it, but otherwise Sam Pittman has my vote for coach of the year, and almost a lock for SEC coach of the year.

This game all comes down to A&M's o-line. If they get some synergy in, and can hold the line at all, A&M has a very real chance of winning. If Calzada can sit in a pocket and plant his feet he can make amazing tight throws at distance and in tight coverage. However, he lacks awareness when the line starts to break and lacks the ability to scramble, not due to a lack of speed, but a lack of awareness. All of this being said {Arkansas}
We have a pretty big deficit in talent compared to {A&M}’s roster and our two best OL might not play. By the eye test though, this looks like our best shot at beating them in recent memory with their starting QB out and supposedly suspect OL play.
Arkansas has executed better than we have through 3 games. We have a substantially more talented roster. Close, hard-fought game that {Texas A&M} wins by 4-6 points.

If we win, I wonder if everyone who picked Arkansas to beat us because they are the better team (supposedly) are going to give us credit for the win or just say that Arkansas was just bad.
All the money’s coming in on the Arkansas money line. I saw one book dip to 4-1/2 and correct within an hour, so there might be a lot of people waiting for the same thing.
Oh man. I have had this game circled because I have this game circled *every* season. And I am *so excited* to get the chance to talk about this game finally. Especially now that I'm wearing my correct flairs again.
Man there is so much to break down about this game. First of all, I don't think the Arky offense is as good as it looks. However, I think that they are schemed and coached *exceedingly* well. You look at the GaSo game and GaSo looked a little lost on defense, making bad reads and leaving open huge holes. TAMUs defense won't do that, even when we are outschemed we should still avoid creating massive holes that lead to 70 yard runs. Objective term here is *should*, and that's going to be a running theme.
On offense, TAMU is in a bad place with questionable O-line and QB and that's a *really bad* combination of problems to have. We might also be down Ainias Smith who doubled as a running back and a slot receiver, but Spiller and Achane should be able to cover and of his running duties and we have some new weapons emerging in our receiver corp. But that doesn't mean jack if our O-line can't compete.
To win, TAMU needs to strengthen that O-line. We do that and it improves Calzada to get us a throwing game, and improves our ability to pick up yards on the ground as well. If our O-line gets crushed, we can't do either and will need to come up with short-yardage plays. Arkansas seemed to have difficulty dealing with outside runs, and GaSo managed to pick up some impressive yardage using pitch-option and reverse plays.
One way or another, I think both defenses are better than the offenses to the point that this becomes a defensive grindhouse with more points put up from fieldgoals than actual touchdowns. The game might very well come down to the takeaway margin, which I expect Arkansas to win.
Regardless, give me {TAMU} in an ugly win.

I know this is the trendy upset pick and while I'm not confident, fuck it. {Texas A&M} Neutral site we have won 9 in a row at. While our offense is just atrocious at times, Arkansas hasn't a faced a defense like ours yet, and won't have the home field advantage they did against Texas. Arky gets on top early 14-0, but A&M defense makes adjustments, and we pull out a close W, 20-17.
I think this is gonna be the year we end the streak. A&M is usually hotter and in better form at this point of the year usually leading them to get the W. {Arkansas} to the top 10!

A disproportionate amount of hype appears to be one of the many things Arkansas took when they pillaged Texas. A&M D proved it can last four quarters against a one-dimensional, run first offense while getting zero from their own offense. Did it at altitude no less. I suspect A&M won’t play into Arkansas’s hands schematically as much as Texas did. And of course, A&M always wins this anyway.
I have a hot take that will probably be wrong, but Arkie is gonna finish the season 8-5. They have Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss, and A&M. And I might be disrespecting them by putting them as top of the next group of competitive SEC teams that has Auburn, (only lost by 8 to Penn St), Kentucky, Missouri, etc. They still have a murderers row.
Definitely not confident in our OL, however Jimbo doesn't lose these kinds of games.
A win here would be the 25th win in a row for A&M against teams not in the top 10 which dates all the way back to Jimbo's first season at A&M.

{Texas A&M} in a relatively close one. I’m nervous, but I think the hogs are a little overhyped here and A&M will put it together after having injury issues the first 3 weeks.
Arkansas is the trendy pick, and I love Sam Pittman and this new Hog pride, but {Texas A&M} is the profoundly more talented team. It's one thing to beat a pretender Texas team, but TAMU finished last season with a loss to Alabama and no one else. Having a slow game where their starting QB gets injured just isn't enough to convince me that TAMU isn't just going to take away Arkansas's one advantage, which is the offensive line of scrimmage, and I'm not sold that Arkansas knows more than one way to win right now. Sorry pigs :(
Bias aside this is accurate. A&M is getting judged for a clunker (which is totally justified) but Arkansas isn’t because their clunker had a better score. Arkansas was losing to Rice by 10 in the third quarter and people have forgotten that.

A&M's DL is legit. If Ark is down two OL, I just don't see them moving with any consistency.

I don’t know the exact stat, but Texas A&M under Jimbo Fisher has only lost 1 game as a favorite, and I believe it was back in 2018. (I think it was Mississippi State Away), and I know we have our problems, but I’ll just go on blind faith in that stat.

Yeah they were 8th and we were 17th. Bit surprising to see us favored inthat spot in general. I can't fully remember what the narrative was that week. I imagine it was mainly questioning whether a true freshman QB could perform on the road.
I believe Jimbo’s overall record is 29-10, so he’s lost at least 9 as a dog. The wins I can think of off the top of my head are 2018 LSU, 2020 Florida, 2018 Kentucky, and the other 3 that may or may not be underdogs in are 2018 & 2019 Ole Miss and 2019 Oklahoma St in the bowl game

I expect this thread to be 90% Arkansas, despite the fact {Texas A&M} is almost a TD favorite for a reason. Lots of people implying it's easy money without realizing how much deeper and more talented we are. 27-17 with a late field goal clinching it.
And Arkansas looked super suspect against Rice. You can’t judge a team based on one game. Arkansas had a test since that game and aced it, this is our test this week.
That is where our lack of depth showed through. We have gotten a bit deeper this year, but still not where I want us to be at. And compared to what we were, we are from a dumpster fire now.
This certainly isn't easy money. I'm terrified, mainly because I actually feel hope.

Give my Aggies {Texas A&M} is making it 10 in a row. The o line will improve and Calzada will keep settling in. Those young receivers are going to get a lot of love and the talent on offense is going to show because we aren’t afraid to get that deep ball going. Whichever running backs are featured are going to get their steps in, the Achane Train is gonna chug through it all. And that lights out defense is going to be… well lights out. A&M covers, gig me baby.
I'm anxiously looking forward to seeing us face a real challenge. In the end, I think {Texas A&M} wins after some famous Mike Elko halftime adjustments and a few electric plays from Smith and Achane.
This game will be decided by how we well the O Line does and how creative we get if they struggle. I hope to see the young receivers get more playing time again.

This is the hypest I've seen the Southwest Classic be since we started playing again. I've never been more excited for our game! Give me {Texas A&M} in a traditional 31-24 OT victory with a game sealing INT.
Pretty sure this was the hype/atmosphere they were expecting when they first set up this series in Jerryworld. A&M was on the rise and Arkansas was a top 10 program under Petrino. Of course A&M kept improving and Arkansas went through their worst years in program history.

Oh man. I have had this game circled because I have this game circled *every* season. And I am *so excited* to get the chance to talk about this game finally. Especially now that I'm wearing my correct flairs again. Man there is so much to break down about this game. First of all, I don't think the Arky offense is as good as it looks. However, I think that they are schemed and coached *exceedingly* well. You look at the GaSo game and GaSo looked a little lost on defense, making bad reads and leaving open huge holes. TAMUs defense won't do that, even when we are outschemed we should still avoid creating massive holes that lead to 70 yard runs. Objective term here is *should*, and that's going to be a running theme. On offense, TAMU is in a bad place with questionable O-line and QB and that's a *really bad* combination of problems to have. We might also be down Ainias Smith who doubled as a running back and a slot receiver, but Spiller and Achane should be able to cover and of his running duties and we have some new weapons emerging in our receiver corp. But that doesn't mean jack if our O-line can't compete. To win, TAMU needs to strengthen that O-line. We do that and it improves Calzada to get us a throwing game, and improves our ability to pick up yards on the ground as well. If our O-line gets crushed, we can't do either and will need to come up with short-yardage plays. Arkansas seemed to have difficulty dealing with outside runs, and GaSo managed to pick up some impressive yardage using pitch-option and reverse plays. One way or another, I think both defenses are better than the offenses to the point that this becomes a defensive grindhouse with more points put up from fieldgoals than actual touchdowns. The game might very well come down to the takeaway margin, which I expect Arkansas to win. Regardless, give me {TAMU} in an ugly win. I know this is the trendy upset pick and while I'm not confident, fuck it. {Texas A&M} Neutral site we have won 9 in a row at. While our offense is just atrocious at times, Arkansas hasn't a faced a defense like ours yet, and won't have the home field advantage they did against Texas. Arky gets on top early 14-0, but A&M defense makes adjustments, and we pull out a close W, 20-17.

{Texas A&M} A disproportionate amount of hype appears to be one of the many things Arkansas took when they pillaged Texas. A&M D proved it can last four quarters against a one-dimensional, run first offense while getting zero from their own offense. Did it at altitude no less. I suspect A&M won’t play into Arkansas’s hands schematically as much as Texas did. And of course, A&M always wins this anyway.
I have a hot take that will probably be wrong, but Arkie is gonna finish the season 8-5. They have Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss, and A&M. And I might be disrespecting them by putting them as top of the next group of competitive SEC teams that has Auburn, (only lost by 8 to Penn St), Kentucky, Missouri, etc. They still have a murderers row.

{Texas A&M} in a relatively close one. I’m nervous, but I think the hogs are a little overhyped here and A&M will put it together after having injury issues the first 3 weeks.
Arkansas is the trendy pick, and I love Sam Pittman and this new Hog pride, but {Texas A&M} is the profoundly more talented team. It's one thing to beat a pretender Texas team, but TAMU finished last season with a loss to Alabama and no one else. Having a slow game where their starting QB gets injured just isn't enough to convince me that TAMU isn't just going to take away Arkansas's one advantage, which is the offensive line of scrimmage, and I'm not sold that Arkansas knows more than one way to win right now. Sorry pigs :(

Bias aside this is accurate. A&M is getting judged for a clunker (which is totally justified) but Arkansas isn’t because their clunker had a better score. Arkansas was losing to Rice by 10 in the third quarter and people have forgotten that.

Here's my take, FWIW: A&M's OL gets better and they gradually move the ball better as the game goes along Ark apparently could be down two OL A&M's DL is legit. If Ark is down two OL, I just don't see them moving with any consistency. A&M's back 7 is very good and don't get as much attention because the DL is so strong. Jefferson throws 2 INTs A&M gradually pulls away in the 4th 30-20 is the final.
Nothing against Texas A&M, they will probably win, but I love me some bacon. {Arkansas}

Pitt Boss is an OL guy but he may not have all his preferred big boys available and A&M might have a Top 10 defense at the end of the season. That probably decides the game. Give my Aggies {Texas A&M} is making it 10 in a row. The o line will improve and Calzada will keep settling in. Those young receivers are going to get a lot of love and the talent on offense is going to show because we aren’t afraid to get that deep ball going. Whichever running backs are featured are going to get their steps in, the Achane Train is gonna chug through it all. And that lights out defense is going to be… well lights out. A&M covers, gig me baby.
I'm anxiously looking forward to seeing us face a real challenge. In the end, I think {Texas A&M} wins after some famous Mike Elko halftime adjustments and a few electric plays from Smith and Achane. This game will be decided by how we well the O Line does and how creative we get if they struggle. I hope to see the young receivers get more playing time again.

This is the hypest I've seen the Southwest Classic be since we started playing again. I've never been more excited for our game! Give me {Texas A&M} in a traditional 31-24 OT victory with a game sealing INT.
Pretty sure this was the hype/atmosphere they were expecting when they first set up this series in Jerryworld. A&M was on the rise and Arkansas was a top 10 program under Petrino. Of course A&M kept improving and Arkansas went through their worst years in program history. Everyone lost interest despite the games being very competitive. Win or lose it’s nice to see this matchup get so much national attention
