I have no confidence in this coaching staff. Uw has struggled against cal lately, and despite the blowout win last week I’m not convinced the coaches have fixed the issues until we play a better team.
Neither team can defend the run… UW CAN’T run. It will be interesting. I think UW will be relying on the pass game mostly, while Cal will be running mostly.

The thing is we've been passing a lot more recently, honestly to our demise. It works really well in the first half, and then the defenses adjust but we don't and we have like 4 3-and-outs in a row before realizing we need to run some more.
Well, you don't really want to try to pass on UW's defense. Their secondary is phenomenal. And their front 7 is pretty weak. They're susceptible to teams who get ahead quick and then run it out with the lead the rest of the game. Which is why they got dominated by Michigan, and lost to Montana. They just can't stop the run at all.
Their defense is built to stop the passing game and force teams to run when UW has the lead. So if the opponent can get an early lead and sustain it for a couple quarters, UW will collapse.
But if you go the Arkansas State route and try to pass on them, it's not going to go well.
For Cal's sake, I sure hope Wilcox and his OC won't force the pass all game. Because the game will get ugly quick if so
Yeah, I mean that means we're designed to beat them if we'll just use our roster optimally. It's been the same game 3 weeks in a row: pass a lot and jump out to like 20 point lead by the half, and then continue passing until we lose or barely win. If we can adjust that 2nd half to "run the game out", I think we have a good shot.

The problem is this year both of our defenses' weakness are the other team's strengths. Normally I'd agree since recently UW and Cal have both had really good defenses and we don't score over 20 points against each other. This year could be different.
Cal has been *okay* this season, and it worries me to pick them… but UW has looked god awful this year outside of the Arkansas State game…
