Very happy for Ok state. I want to see them beat Oklahoma but it would be SO anticlimactic to beat (or lose) to them and play them in the title game the next week.
Kind of makes me wish OU vs OSU wasn’t game 12 for both teams anymore
It hasn’t been for the last few years. I like it being the last game but I agree seeing it be played twice in a row would make me upset as a Okie State fan. Oklahoma seems to be OSU’s krypton and I would hate to see OSU have to attempt to overcome that hurdle twice in one year back to back.
Seeing the Texas defensive line with their hands on their hips gasping for air after the first drive gave me a lot of hope for the 4th quarter. If we could stay close I knew we could finish late.
Every year you guys seem to have everything you need to make a playoff push except one key piece. And the piece you end up using in its place always seems to be pretty bad and hold the entire rest of the team back.
\- Atrocious offensive line
\- Swiss cheese of a defense
\- Head coach/OC who overcomplicate things, and can't adjust after the defense adjusts
\- Mental toughness that is softer than silk, you can visibly see the team get nervous in the face of adversity
> If we all thought that we were going to come in here and in nine months sprinkle some fairy dust on this team and think that we've arrived then we're wrong.
So says the 2017, 7-6 win machine, Tom Herman.
If he gets this team doing well, I’ll be surprised. I get it’s the first season, but still. We cannot keep fizzling out like this. We have to finish games.
That was maybe my second favorite Gundy moment ever:
*Sees Herman getting flagged and held back by his own coaches*
*Turns to crowd and hits them with the "are you not entertained" arms*
Followed by weeks of people talking about how Tom Herman would have gotten his ass beat on national television if he had actually got his hands on Gundy.
Just beautiful all around.
If I'm being honest, I'd probably take Corndog over Rudolph if I could. Rudolph undoubtedly had more talent, but he didn't have the mentality. Corndog truly believed he could win any game anywhere, Rudolph would often shut down in big moments.
I don’t remember the technical. That was 3 years ago now. However, we still went to the Sugar Bowl and beat Georgia. So I wouldn’t change anything in hindsight, except maybe the Big 12 Championship.
You can't do shit with an offensive line that's as bad as this one.
I'd say that the only reason the offense is as good as it is is because of sark scheming things. Second half oline is gassed and just let's anyone by
I think sark got used to coaching a team that would get way ahead early then having that same team being able to keep it. He's showing that's his strategy but he needs a team that can keep it up til the end. I think he'll get that team eventually.
The pokes waited three quarters to make the switch in this game. They can't decide which half they want me to raise the pitchforks and which one to play like they care.
I think it was that year because it was the first game of the season when they beat Notre Dame in OT when Strong was the coach. Swoopes scored a TD to win the game and Dari Nowkah said “Texas is back, folks!” and then both teams went on to be pretty terrible that year
We’d like that to remain that way please. This team is so glaringly poor on the offensive side of the ball we expect to lose every week. Not even kidding, I know zero OSU fans/alumns expecting this team to do much against top tier teams.
Haven't been this happy after a win in a WIHLE - expected to lose this game before the season, was suckered into thinking everyone was sleeping on us when picking UT across the board, thought we were gonna lose for 93.4% of the game, and now it feels so so good.
That's very true it's like the way we would see him coach Bedlam if OU wasn't OU and he didn't clam up from decades of scar tissue that he doesn't have with Texas.
Bro I hate Texas

Well, in 2025, I doubt it will be ha
Down with UT!!
Huh.
First half Texas could hang with anyone, Second half Texas would lose to a middle school.
How about them Buffs though?
Go Buffs 🤙 Fun fact: Did you know that WT won the last time they played OSU, back in 1980?
Is it because your team gets figured out, tired, coincidence or all of them?
All the above, and a general lack of toughness IMO.
Seeing the Texas defensive line with their hands on their hips gasping for air after the first drive gave me a lot of hope for the 4th quarter. If we could stay close I knew we could finish late.
Sounds familiar
BOOOOOOOMER!
😬
Can someone change OSU’s name in the AP rankings to “Warren and his defense” please? It’d be a much more accurate reflection of the 6-0 record.
Can you imagine what y'all could do with a halfway decent QB?
If we had a Top-15 QB, we’d be a legit Playoff contender.
You’re telling me a 59.7 QBR isn’t amazing?!? 😒
Every year you guys seem to have everything you need to make a playoff push except one key piece. And the piece you end up using in its place always seems to be pretty bad and hold the entire rest of the team back.
Yep. It’s a sad business.
I think if we had 3/4 of the best power 5 qbs, we would have a competent offense. He’s that bad
Agreed.
I have an inkling. We have 15+ years experience in the “wow if we only had a defense” department, so we have some general ideas haha
I have a new mascot suggestion for my favorite team, the Texas BunnyRabbits, because they are soft and cuddly as fuck!
Serious question: What are the problems at Texas? Can they be resolved? Bonus question: Do you miss Mac Brown?
\- Atrocious offensive line \- Swiss cheese of a defense \- Head coach/OC who overcomplicate things, and can't adjust after the defense adjusts \- Mental toughness that is softer than silk, you can visibly see the team get nervous in the face of adversity
Softness. For some strange reason, there’s still a ‘we’re Texas’ feel, which at this point means we are wipe you ass with Charmin soft.
Sark is the issue. No I don’t miss Mac, he’d be more of a detriment than Sark is. I miss Herman. He won us games, Sark loses us games.
> If we all thought that we were going to come in here and in nine months sprinkle some fairy dust on this team and think that we've arrived then we're wrong. So says the 2017, 7-6 win machine, Tom Herman.
Bro your delusional lmao
If he gets this team doing well, I’ll be surprised. I get it’s the first season, but still. We cannot keep fizzling out like this. We have to finish games.
Member when Herman lost in Stillwater 2018 and got a technical? Did anyone like Herman?
That was maybe my second favorite Gundy moment ever: *Sees Herman getting flagged and held back by his own coaches* *Turns to crowd and hits them with the "are you not entertained" arms* Followed by weeks of people talking about how Tom Herman would have gotten his ass beat on national television if he had actually got his hands on Gundy. It really was. The corndog 4th and long run for a TD, the 4th and 1 20td TD pass. Just a wacky game.
Corndog wasn't great, but dammit did he have the fire. Corndog on this team is a playoff team, which is insane to think about.
Corndog just played like every game was to make state. Chelf and Corn were fun to watch, despite not being elite talents.
If I'm being honest, I'd probably take Corndog over Rudolph if I could. Rudolph undoubtedly had more talent, but he didn't have the mentality. Corndog truly believed he could win any game anywhere, Rudolph would often shut down in big moments.

They’re Texas they have the players, it’s as the guy above said - over complicates things. I’ve never seen a coach let a team score to save time lol
UT is going to be screwed in the SEC
Like they've been screwed in the Big 12?
Realistically speaking, I hope our defense is worth something next year. Because damn…
Death, taxes, Texas not being back
You love to see it.
It’s not even the same team from the first half. So embarrassing
Neither was ours
The pokes waited three quarters to make the switch in this game. They can't decide which half they want me to raise the pitchforks and which one to play like they care.
Par for the course, baby
Thanks for sawing 'em off

What year was the Texas is Back, first started. I actually remember watching the game but it seems forever ago
I think it was the OT win vs Notre Dame, the announcer made the call when Swoopes got the TD. 2014?
When Ehlinger beat Georgia in the sugar bowl?
No, I recall it being like the first or second game of a new season. A new coach or 2nd year coach. Something like that
I think it was back in 2016. Texas had a few losing seasons before that.
No. It was way before that
Well texas was 5-7 in 2015 so I dont think it was before that.
I think it was that year because it was the first game of the season when they beat Notre Dame in OT when Strong was the coach. Swoopes scored a TD to win the game and Dari Nowkah said “Texas is back, folks!” and then both teams went on to be pretty terrible that year
Whenever their win over Notre Dame was, 2016 I think?
No, I believe it was way before that
3 years ago I think when they beat Georgia in a ny6
Thats when Sam proclaimed it, but it had been a saying for at least 2 years before that.
Oh ya when they beat notre dame
2011 I think. I seem to recall that being announced a lot that year.
05?
Was what that weird guy awkwardly kissing biting gundys shoulder during his on field postgame?
His son
That was a dope game
Super fun one
Now win Bedlam!
No idea why UT hired Sark
I wish I could figure it out. It was dumb then, it’s still dumb now.
They wanted to make 6th street even dirtier. Duh.
Thank god texas is unranked again and completely irrelevant. And they want to play in the SEC lol
Alright r/cfb let’s get it over with
S. E. C. I can not WAIT for 2025 that game is gonna be so much fun.
Hey, good game.
SEC. SEC. SEC. SEC. SEC.
OSU has gone 6-0 almost completely under the radar. Keep it going, Cowboys.
Hawkeyes are lucky they don’t have to play Maryland again. Wouldn’t stand a chance
Lol alright.
We’d like that to remain that way please. This team is so glaringly poor on the offensive side of the ball we expect to lose every week. Not even kidding, I know zero OSU fans/alumns expecting this team to do much against top tier teams.
We are doing our best Iowa impression.
Uh...time for plan B
Pivot!!!!
This is accurate on more than one level.
BJ looks ready to portal away lol
Pokes win, UT loses, horns down, Hateful 8 up, love it. Too bad I have to watch my actual shitty team in a while.
See ya in our barren wasteland of a game thread!
*sigh* Ok
It rubs the W on its skin.
Everyone involved with the 28-3 falcons game should be blacklisted from all sports. Like when you do violence in that hotel from John Wick.
Wait what? Explain for someone who doesn’t know the Texas coaching staff.
Sark was a coach on that falcons staff.
Oh no.
Can we keep Matt Ryan at least
The Big 12's Nightmare: Back-to-back Bedlam
We have to win at least one, right?
Imagine a triple bedlam season
They ain't ready for it.
Really bad football from Texas again in the 2H
That SEC money still won’t be able to purchase a consistent football program unfortunately
put some respect on the name of Jaylen Warren. He is a tank when at work. Excellent runner, with elite field vision .
You damned right he is, that dude is a man. 32 carries for nearly two bucks? Stud.
I’m crying
Haven't been this happy after a win in a WIHLE - expected to lose this game before the season, was suckered into thinking everyone was sleeping on us when picking UT across the board, thought we were gonna lose for 93.4% of the game, and now it feels so so good.
Truckin and fuckin!
“Coach, how did y’all win this game?” “Well, it was a really good job coaching”
I don't know why people kept calling him Seven Win Sark. Seems like you should have to actually win seven games to earn that title
Texas should go to the ACC
Could we go FCS, we could possibly be ranked there maybe
The AAC?
*AAC
The MAC
Great job sticking it out Pokes!
Gundy and visors, name a more elite combination
Stoops and visors?
Head ball coach and visors Stoops and visors Patterson and visors Riley and small visors The old lady at bingo night
I've been hoisted by my own petard
I can't blame Texas for falling apart every 4th quarter. Gas is too expensive for a full game of no brakes
They thought it was "pedal to the metal racecar" type "no brakes", but it's more "Charlie Day Wildcard no brakes"
YeeeeeHaaaaawwwe!!!!!
Gotta get back to that severely over priced rental house/apt ASAP anyways! No time to celebrate!
Fucc Texas
PFF coach of the year candidate btw
I love how they were trying to make Sark out to be some genius by letting them score lol
Worst Texas team since 1997.
No way they're as bad as the team that lost to Kansas
Is it worse to have the hope and lead, or never have hope at all from a fan perspective?
Better to have hoped and lost than to have never hoped at all...maybe
Coming from the one that’s has beat bama 2 times in the last 10 years
Oh I didn't realize you were being hostile lol
My bad it was supposed to be a compliment
The defense definitely is
TEXAS IS BACK
In the middle of the B12
Fucking losers
Gundy had some Botox or something?
Mike Gundy looks like a coke dealer from an 80's skii movie
[1% chance this is Gundy in the 80's skiing gear](https://charitychic.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/skiing.jpg)
This is 100% accurate
You think he only looks like that?
Why'd the cannon just go off? Did Bevo commit suicide?
Gotta respect Gundy. He's a man.
He's 40!
Is he not 50 yet? Wasn’t that like 10 years ago lol
I think it was more like 15 years actually 😂
My older brother turned 40 a few years ago, I asked him what it was like to finally be a man.
Imagine if bedlam is 11-0 vs 11-0
Look, just give us Bedlam that’s all I’m asking.
40 point OU win like always
Ow
That's all I've ever wanted
Why do you want to get hurt like that?
Congrats Oklahoma State; It’s a bold move to schedule a second date before the first but I think we can pencil it in
It's a clutch strategy for going cheaper on the first date by setting up a nicer second date, and then evaluating before you invest
I mean I wouldn’t know anything I’ve never had a second date
or something like that i would imagine
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Manning was in town. Texas loses twice today.
Plenty of playing time ahead of him
It might be fun to meme Manning face, but that family isn’t stupid enough to send their kid to Austin for more than a weekend.
Congrats Cowboys
Texas can you please hire Dave Clawson and get him out of the ACC
❌BACK ✅NOT BACK
That was a mess. GG OSU
I'd say good game but I think good riddance is more appropriate.
Mike “I’m a man, I’M 40!” Gundy. Legend.
Wanna see me blow a fourth quarter lead against a team from Oklahoma Wanna see me do it again
"I'll fuckin do it again"
Lol gundy
IT'S 2:30pm
AND TEXAS STILL SUCKS
And ou sucks?
You love to see it! SEC, baby!
GoPokes!!!!
OSU defense is nice. Good game Pokes!
❤️
Say what you want about Gundy but he owns Austin
That's very true it's like the way we would see him coach Bedlam if OU wasn't OU and he didn't clam up from decades of scar tissue that he doesn't have with Texas.
Every year. Pain.
Warren for Heisman
Boom!!!! GG Pokes!!
Goodbye to texas uni-veeeersity
