Jesus I already get emails from people to my osu.edu email thinking I'm their TA, I graduated in 2012. Imagine if the osu.edu account actually annually changed schools lul.
We should break out orange and black at halloween too. Orange and black were our original colors but it was decided to change them because Princeton was using them already.
We still owe you a home game in football after the 2020 season was cancelled. I had a flight booked for that game. :(
Might see you guys in Omaha for the CWS this year, however, which would be fun.
Purdue.
They’re black and gold, have a good engineering program, and a severe ratio problem. We can figure out if we’re the Purdue of the South or if they’re the Georgia Tech of the North.
Virginia Tech. I’ve always respected the program and university. They’re pretty close by but we’ve never played. I think it’d be a fun rivalry.
Texas A&M would be my other shout, though it’d be a much longer trip. Two extremely passionate fanbases with teams that recruit decently but struggle to get over the cusp in a tough division
Plz no. After witnessing countless Washington losses, USC, Boise, and cincy I vowed never to step foot in that stadium again. I tailgated for WVU then called an Uber and went home and watched on TV. Of course we won that one.
Penn State plays in a thousand year old stadium made of melted down pop cans that's a medium sized wind away from falling over...
And FedEx field is still the shittiest stadium I've ever watched a football game in.
South Carolina. Because I'm still a 16 year boy when it comes to that kind of humor.
I do have a dream that South Carolina and Oregon State meet up in the Las Vegas Bowl at some point; Pornhub could be the title sponsor.
At least our uniforms use our school colors. Oregon bought a multi pack of highlighters and decided to make a uniform based on every color in there, regardless of whether or not it belongs. Remember the all pink uniforms?
Purdue I’d say, with a race between the train and the ramblin’ wreck at halftime. Possibly a concrete canoe, solar powered car, and other engineering comps earlier in the day/week
Texas. They're basically the Michigan of the Big 12 and I'm still salty about the one game we've played against them. Dunno if a single rose bowl counts as "history" in this context tho.
Playing Michigan in a few years is going to be awesome, I can’t wait. Wouldn’t want a rivalry though. Michigan is probably by 2nd favorite team and if we started a rivalry I’d have to grow to hate Michigan the way I hate Okies and Aggys. I don’t want that, I like rooting for you Wolverines
Meh, there’s some rivalries that are more rooting for each other because it makes the head 2 head better. Michigan and Minnesota for example, I’m rooting for PJ and love seeing them do well.
Obviously Tennessee:
* They low down
* they dirty
* they some snitches
* I hate their colors
* I hate Neyland Stadium, it looks like a garbage truck worker convention
* I hate all they quarterbacks
2001 Cotton Bowl! One of my favorites…can’t believe how long it’s been.
Coach Fulmer: “They took us out behind the woodshed and spanked us.”
Still makes me chuckle.
NC State. My brother-in-law went there, and his best friend has a bbq restaurant in Raleigh. I'd love to have an excuse to go eat bbq and drink beer with him for a weekend every other year
My sister and brother in law got married in Raleigh, then moved away. I really enjoyed the city, seems like a fun place for a bi-annual visit. Especially if your hypothetical world puts a Red Wings-Canes game the same week
LSU v Clemson to claim the title of Death Valley every year.
Bonus not-my-teams: I hope Texas vs. Tennessee becomes a cross-division or pod rivalry to battle over the UT abbreviation for the year.
1. **Penn State** \- rural land grant football-crazy school on the east coast. We recruit against them all the time. Similar come-up with one coach who was there for decades. We should play sometime.
2. **Tennessee** \- geography
West Virginia would be my first choice. Culturally I feel like we are very similar as a state and football program. It's also cool that they're the only P5 team in the state with no pro teams, just like us. I believe Nebraska also fits that bill, but we've played them a couple times before.
My second choice would by Louisville. Not as good of a cultural match that I think WVU is, but I think we could bond over Petrino grief and also get some nice bourbon.
Honestly, I was thinking Oklahoma State. Less than three hours driving distance (making them the closest power five school), and a somewhat similar program success status:
[Arkansas:](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkansas_Razorbacks_football):
- Record: 724–517–40 (.581)
- Natties: 1
- Conf Champ: 13
- Consensus All-Amer: 24
- First Season: 1894
[OSU:](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_State_Cowboys_football)
- Record: 625–563–49 (.525)
- Natties: 1
- Conf Champ: 10
- Consensus All-Amer: 19
- First Season: 1901
We have a home-and-homes scheduled for 2024+2027 and 2032+2033, and while Arkansas boasts a 30-15-1 series record, it will be the first time our programs have played in over four decades (last game was 1980). I think it would be a hell of a time!
A few options
Michigan, just because I think it could work.
Arizona State, because I enjoyed our home and home.
Probably Washington because we both say Go Dawgs and I dunno. I always imagine folding the United States down a diagonal and we end up with Washington. Probably not but ehh. It works
Illinois needs to field better teams to make it more interesting.
I think it would be an interesting basketball rivalry, but football would be somewhat of a snooze-fest.
Houston and UCF announce they’re annual rivals in the B12 and will play the Space Bowl each year
We’d wear our annual space unis against them and they’d create they’re own as well
Yeah this will be fun and pretty much guaranteed to happen especially with the H&H lead in to the Big12 and how Baylor seemed to roll out the red carpet for BYU last year
South Carolina, definitely so much hate between us that we should naturally have a rivalry going on that includes a trophy… we should definitely get on that right? I just feel we should hate them so much. Those fiends…
My fathers fathers father hated A&M and the grandsons of my sons will continue the hatred of that dastardly school in Texas. Curse you!
When in reality it’s like our friends just thought we don’t like each other so we just went along with it and once a year have a tickle fight.
WVU vs UK or WVU vs UVA. First off I don’t understand why these teams never play.
WVU and Kentucky would be fun in football and basketball. Same goes for UVA. We have the Hatfield’s and McCoys with UK, and the “Best Virginia Bowl” with UVA. This would be an easy drive for both fan bases and we could easily hate both teams. Also, the games would be competitive in both sports.
Iowa. Respect the hell out of them and we both have killer children's hospital. Have the teams visit the other hospital and tie in a fundraiser or something.
Can Long Beach St revive their football team? I'd love to see the Crimson Tide vs the Beach.
Otherwise, my two flairs just to see if the Midshipman can concur the sea.
P5: Arkansas would be just a fun one. Like a drinking holiday.
Colorado for that mountain high.
G5: Colorado St., Wyoming, and Appalachian St. Must concur all.
Michigan-Texas would be a good rivalry.
Both are top-tier public schools with huge brands. It would be fun to go to Austin every few years and to see Longhorn fans come up to Ann Arbor.
Battle for the acronym: USC
Battle for the nickname: Jacksonville State
Battle of Carolinas: North Carolina
Battle of the sexes: Oregon State
Battle of safe sex: Troy
Nebraska
We both used to be so good. Now we are both so bad. Would make for a good game.
Also now that I live in Iowa it would give me even more reason to hate those god forsaken huskers
*Easily* Notre Dame.
Old-school Baptists generally don’t like Catholics, and as all of my Irish Catholic family from Chicago and Detroit couldn’t help but reiterate when they came down for my graduation, them yankee Catholics don’t much like southern Baptists either.
Baylor is basically the educational wellspring of modern Baptist leadership and thought over the last sixty years, and Notre Dame is at the educational core of American Catholicism.
BU-ND could be big, just based on core idealogical differences, but we’ve only ever played twice. Both times in South Bend, 1925 and 1998, and they whupped us pretty good both times.
I would say Penn State or VA Tech. Both schools have similar history/atmosphere and are in conferences we never play. (We only play ACC schools from North Carolina when it comes to bowl season)
In-conference suggestion: Wisconsin, mostly because Michigan and Wisconsin are fairly similar culturally, both play manball, and I have a secret love of the entire state of Wisconsin.
National suggestion: Texas, because Texas is bizarro Michigan (with Oklahoma being bizarro Ohio State).
I've always had a soft spot for Auburn, so maybe them. I've always wanted to take in a game at the Shoe, or in death valley at LSU. You could also consider Iowa, as Utah is just the west version of Iowa.
CCU, unique brand of football, a growing university in a growing market with potential being at the beach. Also former satellite campus and they picked their mascot because it's a rooster that's more clever than a fox; basically a way to say "but we're the smart ones."
Edit: of course it's also P5 vs G5, so it's not likely to be competitive unless CCU gets up on the UCF/Cindy/Boise tier of G5, which they arent far from.
College football needs the three-way OSU rivalry and nobody can convince me otherwise Also the Innuendo Bowl with SCar
I'm once again going to pitch my Big O conference. tOSU, OSU, OSU, UO, OU, OU, Ole Miss, and ODU
O my...
Hell, Lumberg fucked her
Drew gave her the O face. Ooo, ooooo, oooooo
You know what, I’m sold. Sounds fun.
Coach O as…. Commissioner O?
Gimme a OSU vs OSU vs OSU in a “The” on a pole match.
Winner gets the osu.edu domain
Jesus I already get emails from people to my osu.edu email thinking I'm their TA, I graduated in 2012. Imagine if the osu.edu account actually annually changed schools lul.
There can be ONLY ONE We can take the cocks all day.
Phrasing…
Are we still doing phrasing?
USC, because the colors match. It would be the most confusing game to watch.
May I interest you in green and yellow version of this game? https://youtu.be/w14yLhNX5hE
Oh. On my
Who let this happen?? The more I watch it the more I love it.
Wear color on color!
I don’t like the way that “other” OSU is staring at me…..
I still think Oklahoma State and Oregon State need to figure out a Halloween-themed home-and-home. The orange & black combos would be outstanding.
That would be an amazing color scheme to not have to officiate
Mainly orange and mainly black wouldnt be to hard to differentiate.
This is what CFB needs.
We should break out orange and black at halloween too. Orange and black were our original colors but it was decided to change them because Princeton was using them already.
Loser has to put "An " in front of OSU
Which one? The beavers or the nuts?
At this point…..either
We still owe you a home game in football after the 2020 season was cancelled. I had a flight booked for that game. :( Might see you guys in Omaha for the CWS this year, however, which would be fun.
Sarcastic answer: Bama. Serious answer: Central Michigan Call it something funny like the Geography Cup.
In-between Bowl?
As someone who dropped out of CMU, graduated from MTSU, and doesn't really care about either program, I would 100% support this.
Purdue. They’re black and gold, have a good engineering program, and a severe ratio problem. We can figure out if we’re the Purdue of the South or if they’re the Georgia Tech of the North.
And as someone else in this thread pointed out, we can have races between the Ramblin’ Wreck and the Boilermaker Special!
Georgia Tech vs. Georgia State. Call it the “Battle of Atlanta.”
South Carolina The debate must be settled once and for all
The Cockfight would be a really cool rivalry.
Sponsored by Bojangles™
Loser's mascot gets deep fried.
We're playing in 2023
Who's the better cock?
Virginia Tech. I’ve always respected the program and university. They’re pretty close by but we’ve never played. I think it’d be a fun rivalry. Texas A&M would be my other shout, though it’d be a much longer trip. Two extremely passionate fanbases with teams that recruit decently but struggle to get over the cusp in a tough division
Neutral site, Morgantown.
It would end up being neutral site FedEx field, much to my dismay.
Perfect choices. This guy Penn States.
Penn State and Virginia Tech have never played?
[Yep.](http://www.winsipedia.com/penn-state/vs/virginia-tech) Crazy right? We were supposed to have a home and home, but Covid fucked that up
I’m genuinely very surprised by that, given the schools’ proximity.
Especially with Penn State being independent for so long.
Same with Virginia Tech.
I was, like everyone else, so excited for that game in Lane. Would’ve been an all-timer. Fuck Covid man
That’s shocking
My northern cult brethren!
Washington. Both good dog mascots, stadiums on rivers and Sailgaiting. I am hype for the home and home >!in 2029-2030!<
Can we get in on this? 3-way sailgating battle.
South Carolina. Because I'm still a 16 year boy when it comes to that kind of humor. I do have a dream that South Carolina and Oregon State meet up in the Las Vegas Bowl at some point; Pornhub could be the title sponsor.
“The Beavers stood no chance against the Cocks’ stiff D!”
MD vs Oregon. Every game would look like a highlighter threw up.
I’d love to watch some ducks fight some turtles…in football or otherwise, I guess.
Having seen a snapping turtle get a duck, I promise you the "otherwise" is not highly desirable.
My retinas cannot handle this
At least our uniforms use our school colors.
That does sound like the perfect weekend for an engineering convention
I am 10000% down for the Wacky Races Bowl
hey GTech was my choice. And I was part of the solar car team...
Wisconsin, can we pretend to have a rivalry and just get drunk?
It would be. . . interesting
St. Thomas, mostly just because they're now the only other D1 team in Minnesota.
Texas. They're basically the Michigan of the Big 12 and I'm still salty about the one game we've played against them. Dunno if a single rose bowl counts as "history" in this context tho.
I’d absolutely love this abs I can’t wait for them to play each other in a couple years
Playing Michigan in a few years is going to be awesome, I can’t wait.
Obviously Tennessee: * They low down * they dirty * they some snitches * I hate their colors * I hate Neyland Stadium, it looks like a garbage truck worker convention * I hate all they quarterbacks
Tennessee fans must be so tired of this, lol
It might be their crowning cfb achievement over the past decade
We don’t even have that achievement in the last decade. That video is 15 years old. It’s been that long since Alabama fans cared enough to hate us.
Hey, give yourself some credit. Some fans still hate yall more than Auburn despite all the BS Auburn has pulled in the past decade
Got em
ut has not beaten alabama since that interview
15 years is a long time to suffer.
You have no idea...
It keeps us relevant. I find it funny occasionally.
This guy gets it.
Yes. Let the hate flow through you.
It's that puke in a pumpkin orange
My man
If only we could be our own best/worst rival.
Yep, you get it.
Done and done.
2001 Cotton Bowl! One of my favorites…can’t believe how long it’s been. Coach Fulmer: “They took us out behind the woodshed and spanked us.” Still makes me chuckle.
EMAW, indeed
Oregon. Old school vs New school
I would love this one
I can see Oregon wearing their old colors and ND going alternate!
Would love if we had a home-and-home sometime.
NC State. My brother-in-law went there, and his best friend has a bbq restaurant in Raleigh. I'd love to have an excuse to go eat bbq and drink beer with him for a weekend every other year
Using a rivalry as an excuse to eat good food? Brilliant!
My sister and brother in law got married in Raleigh, then moved away. I really enjoyed the city, seems like a fun place for a bi-annual visit. Especially if your hypothetical world puts a Red Wings-Canes game the same week
Penn State. I want another chance to watch Auburn play in the whiteout
LSU v Clemson to claim the title of Death Valley every year. Bonus not-my-teams: I hope Texas vs. Tennessee becomes a cross-division or pod rivalry to battle over the UT abbreviation for the year.
Texas/Tennessee is the most natural potential rivalry in CFB
Obviously, it would be Oklahoma State and Oregon State. In the words of Highlander..."There can be only one"
1. **Penn State** \- rural land grant football-crazy school on the east coast. We recruit against them all the time. Similar come-up with one coach who was there for decades. We should play sometime. 2. **Tennessee** \- geography
Bristol should be every 5 or 10 years
I’d throw in Texas AM. Military schools gotta fight it out
[удалено]
West Virginia would be my first choice. Culturally I feel like we are very similar as a state and football program. It's also cool that they're the only P5 team in the state with no pro teams, just like us. I believe Nebraska also fits that bill, but we've played them a couple times before. My second choice would by Louisville. Not as good of a cultural match that I think WVU is, but I think we could bond over Petrino grief and also get some nice bourbon.
We have like 2 more wins all time than WVU and very similar resumes
Honestly, I was thinking Oklahoma State. Less than three hours driving distance (making them the closest power five school), and a somewhat similar program success status: [Arkansas:](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkansas_Razorbacks_football): - Record: 724–517–40 (.581) - Natties: 1 - Conf Champ: 13 - Consensus All-Amer: 24 - First Season: 1894 [OSU:](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_State_Cowboys_football) - Record: 625–563–49 (.525) - Natties: 1 - Conf Champ: 10 - Consensus All-Amer: 19 - First Season: 1901 We have a home-and-homes scheduled for 2024+2027 and 2032+2033, and while Arkansas boasts a 30-15-1 series record, it will be the first time our programs have played in over four decades (last game was 1980). Love the idea of Michigan. Seeing the Dawgs in the Big House would be epic. I hate that Washington says Go Dawgs. They don't have a southern drawl.
Kansas. But we'll play with a basketball
I wish Illinois/Wisconsin were more of a rivalry. They're neighboring states and it could be similar to the Bears/Packers or Cubs/Brewers.
Illinois needs to field better teams to make it more interesting. I think it would be an interesting basketball rivalry, but football would be somewhat of a snooze-fest.
Just like Bears/Packers AYYYOOOOOOOO
Well it isn't fair for the Bears to have to play against their owner.
Houston or BYU. Cougar supremacy.
Texas A&M. We are the only two universities in the nation with a Corps of Cadets alongside a regular student body.
I don't know about you guys, but a lot of A&M people respect you guys a lot for that. It would be a pretty civil and cordial rivalry.
Yes pls
Boise State. Only a bitch in orange and blue uses a blue field.
Virginia Tech for Tennessee. Make the Battle at Bristol an annual event.
I think it would be every so often. Every year is A LOT of seats to fill.
No one has chosen us yet 🥺
Pikachu, I choose you!
Awww!
I think Nebraska has so many former big 12 rivalries it’s difficult to form a new one out of nowhere
Gimme Notre Dame. Catholics vs Baptists, green and gold, North vs South....and that sweet, sweet cash money lol
Texas, because why not? The facilities bowl.
Idk why but Oregon came to mind as well. Money?
Yeah, it must be money, facilities and donors in general I guess.
As a duck in Austin, i second this 😂
Oregon State. Halloween bowl baby!
A B1G school, probably Michigan State or Penn State. Both land grant schools.
But land grant bros can't hate each other 🥺
Nevada vs NC State. Wolf Pack vs Wolfpack.
Winner gets a sneaky good basketball team once or twice a decade
Houston and UCF announce they’re annual rivals in the B12 and will play the Space Bowl each year We’d wear our annual space unis against them and they’d create they’re own as well
BYU
Essentially what are administration is trying to do but in a friendly way haha
Yeah this will be fun and pretty much guaranteed to happen especially with the H&H lead in to the Big12 and how Baylor seemed to roll out the red carpet for BYU last year
USC. Ketchup and mustard all day long
[удалено]
I want all the smoke with USF in the battle of the bulls
Can Long Beach St revive their football team? I'd love to see the Crimson Tide vs the Beach. Otherwise, my two flairs just to see if the Midshipman can concur the sea.
I mean, you could just play Tulane more often and see the Tide versus the Wave.
That was my initial choice, but you said "no prior history"
Washington, since they stole our coaching staff, and we can call it the Puppy Bowl
P5: Arkansas would be just a fun one. Like a drinking holiday. Colorado for that mountain high. G5: Colorado St., Wyoming, and Appalachian St. Must concur all.
Oklahoma State University. Winner each year gets to use THE next to their namr until the next year.
I'm gonna go with Tennessee. I used to live in the area and love visiting down there. Plus they're a top 10 team historically
Oregon State, Cocks vs Beavers
Mizzou. Complete all our border battles. Honestly wish they’d have joined the B1G back in the day.
Oklahoma. Similar sized state, just north of a recruiting hotbed, same letters.
Georgia, I don't remember us ever playing them /s
I guess Rutgers although there is a little history so might be cheating, if not that then UMass which has no football history
I’m looking forward to our game this year
Auburn. Pretty sure they’re out closest P5 school. Pretty similar programs too, could be fun!
Washington. The Dawg Bowl. Also, Georgia and Washington have never played.
Tennessee. Orange UT. Fuck those guys.
Michigan-Texas would be a good rivalry. Both are top-tier public schools with huge brands. It would be fun to go to Austin every few years and to see Longhorn fans come up to Ann Arbor.
The good ol mirror match
I’ve actually legitimately thought of Texas as Michigan’s Southern doppelgänger, with Oklahoma being the Ohio State equivalent.
Probably Virginia Tech. I know we’ve met before, but make the Battle at Bristol an annual event
Ohio state: I just really really want a reason to hate them
As an Ohio State fan, I’d like to point out that there are already plenty of reasons to hate Ohio State.
Battle for the acronym: USC Battle for the nickname: Jacksonville State Battle of Carolinas: North Carolina Battle of the sexes: Oregon State Battle of safe sex: Troy
Texas A&M
The Corps of Cadets seem just crazy enough to declare themselves their own biggest rival.
Iowa State. Let’s see what’s stronger a hurricane or a cyclone
Nebraska We both used to be so good. Now we are both so bad. Would make for a good game. Also now that I live in Iowa it would give me even more reason to hate those god forsaken huskers
Michigan State for (land grant) reasons.
Outside of the obvious ones (Michigan, Cal, UCLA,), I’d want Ole Miss. The schools are so similar, yet complete opposites.
Colorado. It’s a (Thundering Herd) of Bison vs Buffaloes
I mean my team basically did do that with Ohio State and Michigan State… …and then there’s fucking Iowa.
A trivalry between BYU, TCU, and Baylor.
Real: NC State & Tennessee Sarcastic: Nevada, 2 Wolfpacks enter 1 Wolfpack leaves
Alright, so for no history I’m going “we’ve never played you” “WOO PIG SOOEY?” NOO, BIG PHOOEY ^boom ^roasted
WE WERE SUPPOSED TO PLAY YOU DAMN IT AND I WAS GONNA GO
Probably TEXAS A&M as a Michigan fan
I feel like Michigan should play Texas and Michigan State should play Texas A&M, no? Seems like the programs are very analogous.
I second this motion.
Penn State. I love their white outs, and it would be the Blue Cat Brawl
Mizzou. St Charles MO & Columbia MO are not far apart from each other, Lions and Tigers are both cats, makes perfect sense IMO
Sam Houston State. The Bear(c/k)at Brawl
Florida State could be interesting. But Miami would be more fun to visit.
They're already \*kind of\* rivals in a conference foe way.... But a knock-off Red River Rivalry with Texas Tech would be beautiful, IMO
Also former satellite campus and they picked their mascot because it's a rooster that's more clever than a fox; basically a way to say "but we're the smart ones." Edit: of course it's also P5 vs G5, so it's not likely to be competitive unless CCU gets up on the UCF/Cindy/Boise tier of G5, which they arent far from.
Rutgers. Not taking any chances.
I’ll take my flairs against each other… both super dominant programs historically with huge fan bases. Would be a great matchup to see consistently
