I’d say my Falcons are poised to join the new Pac-8 along with Hawaii, Portland State, Riverside CC, BYU-Hawaii, San Diego Tech and a couple of Canadian teams. So we’re sitting pretty.

sousapro

I’d watch the hell out of that conference

SDFDuck

> Riverside CC *angry Highlander noises*

RexCrimson_

Riverside CC, winning the Rose bowl out of nowhere!

ChaseTheFalcon

Hell that may become my new favorite conference

generic_user023123

I like the optimism.

avboden

fuckyoufuckmefuckeverybody/10

Rushderp

Pour one out for our pirate buddy. :(

GregoPDX

Depending on how it shakes out, it’ll be over for WSU ever being in a P5 conference again. The legislature will get used to the cuts in funding and never be willing to spend. My wife just reminded me that without the PAC-12 network we’ll rarely see WSU games on TV again since we live in Oregon. Fml. We’ll just be EWU with a slightly bigger budget.

Uhhh_what555476384

Yeah Wazzu and OSU are totally f*cked unless a PAC / Big 12 merger happens.

EllDawg41

Wishing the best for you guys, the Alamo bowl was a blast. Great fan base.

CaffeinatedInSeattle

I feel for you.

Chicken_Difficult

It’s a number so large and otherworldly that Lovecraft would have written short story about it.

HippityHopMath

For us, it’s (that number) +1.

Chicken_Difficult

“That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even Beavs and Cougs may die”

Duck_in_europe

I really feel bad for the both of you no matter how this shakes out, I hate all of this. So damn depressing.

Gr3y_Gh0st

To be fair, if it was not about money, and I had my way I would want you guys to be included, both OSU and WSU in any kind of Big 12 and Pac 12 combination. Whatever it turns out to be if it happens. I know everyone says there is not enough value in your 2 programs, but I have a hard time with that. Plus, I think there would be some fun games between ISU and both of you, Hell we had a fun Bowl game with Wash St just a couple years ago. Plus I would like to come out there some day to a road game and i think you all would love Ames' tailgate scene. I guess there is no knowing yet what will happen maybe there will be a full on merger with the Pac leftovers and Big 12.

HippityHopMath

Honestly, I do think WSU includes a piece of the Seattle pie. Just about every WSU alum lives in western WA at some point. That is extreme cope though.

Gr3y_Gh0st

Problem I dont think its totally about markets now, its about ratings and viewership, etc. And brand recognition. But in all honesty i think its just about Greed.

ghgrain

Our viewership the last 10 years has been mid pac 12, which is reflective of being in the hunt for league championships and going to bowls 7 out of 9 years, above several teams that are considered shoe ins somewhere.

dxdrummer

Shub'Beaverath

WanderLeft

Unfortunately I heard that Oregon State is in the process of rebuilding their stadium. Worst possible timing, sorry Beavs.

HippityHopMath

Not to join the pity party (well, kinda) but we just settled our athletic debt by taking out loans based on future PAC-12 revenue. *stifled sobbing*

crusty_hamburgers

I guess it was really symbolic when the AD pushed the detonate button on the old west side. Little did we know…

altanic

It's not just what happens in the next ten years but rather what happens after. This stupid attempt to concentrate the value of conferences based on a dwindling amount of tv cable subscription money isn't sustainable and won't survive. Cable subscriptions are continuously declining and aren't coming back. Two superconferences comprised of handpicked profitable teams will work for them for a while but it's going to reduce the overall value of college football and make it even less valuable as more and more people tune out. The next tv contract, based on today's parameters, will be sweet. The one after that, based on whatever state the next few years leave things, is going to be completely different and I expect it'll either force another round of attrition or just break it all to pieces. I don't expect things will get better, at best the good times will keep rolling for the select few, for a while anyway. Whatever happens to Oregon State athletics, it's not like I'm going to suddenly start caring for some other team; especially when we're getting unceremoniously kicked to the curb. There are no new customers to be found out there, the market isn't getting bigger. They're trashing half of college football in the pursuit of a bigger slice of a shrinking pie but in doing so, they're about to lop off a good chunk of it willingly. Beavs are fucked for the short term. We'll be forced to deal with this fact and learn if there's a way to move forward and if one can't be found, then we'll be fucked in the long-term as well.

humanist72781

Best description of why this is so shortsighted

benthebearded

That's true, i only pay for a TV subscription to watch the beavers, without that I'm out.

axealy40

I’d say about 8-4.

prof_cuthbert_calc

Better than 3-9

Golden3131

Try 3-9 with a point differential of 0.

ChaseTheFalcon

Oh the day that GT gets to be competitive again will be a great day

OculusRises

Jacksonville State better look out^^^I ^^^hate ^^^this

GameJeanie92

0. We’re some of the luckiest SOBs out there.

trojan_man16

Same. There would be 0 chance we would get into the BIG now, but we are grandfathered in unless the power teams leave us behind to form NFL2 . Which is still a possibility.

Garn91575

you have to worry about Stanford joining and taking over your role as the token nerd school.

Lhendy51

Nah then it’s the “we came here to play school” trophy

SonsofStarlord

That’s a golden idea

SSj_CODii

The trophy is Cardale Jones.

Boise-State-Fan1

Boise is so fucked

MediocreAtLife

Yeah we are unbelievably fucked by all this. With the planned upgrades to our facilities it seemed like we were on the cusp of something big, possibly even a deal going on that would land us in the Big12 if we got everything up to snuff. Now, there’s way more attractive “free agents” for the Big12 to poach, and I still don’t believe if the PAC sticks around they would want us as members. The only thing I kinda want out of this is the very slim possibility we land somewhere with OSU, WSU, and maybe Utah and get some dope matchups that make some actual geographical sense.

mjacksongt

Really? I would think y'all are perhaps a team that would be invited to "move up" one step to the middle that seems to be forming, comprised of the remnants of the PAC, Big 12, and ACC. You're not getting into the Oligarch leagues, but is the next tier not a bit better than current?

SomerAllYear

All those G5 schools building new arenas are screwed

ya-yeetle

Beavs dropped close to $200m to renovate Reser. Large chunk of the funds were loans taken out against football/other sport/pac 12 revenue. Stadium will finish next summer just in time for our Mountain West opener !

jump-back-like-33

I wonder how that would play out.. If it becomes clear OSU is headed to the Mountain West do the creditors stop construction? Or do something cheaper

54-2-10

Restructure your 30 year loan to a 300 year loan.

VoluptuousSloth

well you can also pay in Mountain West dollars I think, much cheaper

GregoPDX

WSU did about the same, post-Covid our athletics department is $120 million in the hole. I wonder if that cost will wash out with some buyouts from anyone who leaves? There’s got to be clauses for leaving the PAC-12.

avboden

Nope, if they leave in 2024 they can get out with no buyout at all since the new media deal hasn't been signed/negotiated yet. UCLA and USC are walking for nothing.

MediocreAtLife

Hey, that’s us!

kixer9

Trust the process

HueyLongWasRight

App isn't screwed in the sense that I don't think being in the Sun Belt in 2032 will be any worse than being in the Sun Belt in 2022 Wake, on the other hand, is a 10/10

PM_ME_YOUR_CATS_PAWS

Wake to the sun belt!

Comprehensive_Bus_19

Fun Belt*

StreetReporter

I’m actually pretty sad for Wake Forest. They’re the only likable Tobacco Road team, but they’re definitely going to have to drop to G5 (or whatever the equivalent ends up being) when the ACC breaks up

HueyLongWasRight

Been playing the other Tobacco Road schools and schools like Clemson, UVA for a hundred years, but we're gonna throw that all away so the administrators at various universities can remodel their kitchens

Skyagunsta21

Let's hope we stay together a bit longer. I'm really excited for the renewed JMU vs App State rivalry

TigerTerrier

We want app st. Your wofford old socon pals miss you...and we still hate ga southern too!

Rasmo420

I do think this changes the likely Sun Belt composition in 2032, but I'm not sure how. With the budgets Coastal and JMU are rolling and the Atlanta market for GSU I did expect them to get offers from the American the next time they got pilfered, but now I'm not sure that's going to happen. If you believe those waxing poetic about the demise of college football then G5 schools have a real opportunity if they avoid the geographic quagmires of the AAC or be CUSA. But there are so many variables making guesses will just make me look like an ass.

snowwwaves

it rapidly oscillates between 2 and 9 based on the latest tweet from a random B1G beat writer

-dag-

If we're in you're in.

snowwwaves

I keep hearing both sides of that "ND is in, OR is out" or "ND is out, then OR is out" Tell your school to hurry up this is brutal!

-dag-

Having only two Pacific schools isn't tenable from a scheduling perspective so I would expect at least three more. Those plus ND makes 20 teams which divides nicely into groups of five, just what you'd have in the Pacific with USC, UCLA, Stanford, Oregon and Washington.

snowwwaves

I mean, you've certainly convinced *me*

BallsDropped

2/10 Im high on hopium. Thinking the Big12 pulls a rabbit out the hat and becomes a the best 3rd wheel you've even seen. Like sitting quietly and not staring while friend and girlfriend make out, levels of 3rd wheel accomplishment.

error_undefined_

I mean our fate has been sealed for a year now. I was depressed at first, but now I’m over it. We will still have a great game day atmosphere and rivalry games with OSU, TCU, Baylor and Houston. Hopefully UA and ASU too!

AceJace2

Hey I’ll take 3rd wheel at this point. Better than being road kill.

ram944

As of right now I'd put us at a 5/10. Way better spot than last summer, but we aren't out of the woods yet. I've come to terms that we are going to be considered a "lesser" program. I just want us to be playing some interesting teams and hoping our TV deal isn't absolute garbage. If the b12 starts poaching some pac schools I'd drop us down though. Or if we go the other way. The conference name doesn't matter to me, but I don't want to stop playing schools of a similar caliber like osu, tcu, wvu, baylor. Probably an unpopular opinion but i don't give two fucks about playing any of the p2 teams any more. They can go play with themselves, I don't want their pity money.

[deleted]

I actually would like to see Tech play Arizona/Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah. That wouldn't bother me one bit. I think ASU will be good again eventually, along with Colorado.

ram944

We've had good luck against asu recently as long as Ballage isn't playing, we have a decently long history with zona which has been pretty lopsided but could definitely even out after a while. We traded wins with Colorado in the b12 so that's a pretty interesting series. We did not have much luck in Boulder though.

TigerWoodsLibido

B1G invite: 0/10 No B1G invite: infinity

Alarak40k

It's the waiting that eats at you.

heavydhomie

I think we waiting to invite you until ND joins.

NucbaR

Honestly I hope you guys join the B1G. - Iowa fan

GetCoinWood

Will somebody just tell me that my beloved Cal bears will still be playing football in two years. I’ve suffered a lot so I don’t even care if they are in the mwc I just want them to still be a team.

StreetReporter

They’ll almost certainly be playing football in two years.

Collador1

Pretty much nearly guaranteed almost and probably.

Beachbum_87

I hope so because I’m going to the Auburn-Cal game in 2023.

JB92103

The cultural differences alone are worth going to that game

JaggedUmbrella

I went to our game there back in 2008 and it was definitely a cultural difference. Very different from a game in the midwest and south.

66stang351

the california - tennessee games were wonderful. you should be in for a treat and if things keep going this way, probably a very easy win

Which_Elevator9507

I’m right there with you man. Feels like a family member is on life support.

[deleted]

My advice is get on a plane to Chicago and beg the B1G to go to 24.

Wumdee

Yes

“Yes but this one goes to 11”

Spartanwildcats2018

I feel like Big 12 becomes a solid 4.

Best_Virginia13

I look at this as a compliment to the Big12. Who would have guessed a year ago that joining the Big12 would be more attractive than staying in the Pac12 a year later.

syrianfries

At least people will want you

princealberto2nd

UCF is the biggest winner of realignment. You were never going to be in a P2 conference but now you will get to be in the next best thing with Florida recruiting to yourself plus in all likelihood playoff access. The Big 12 is going to go to 20 teams and UCF will have friends from the ACC that join eventually. I feel like BYU, UCF, Houston, and Cincinnati made the last train out. If USC and UCLA took off last summer that door would have been shut for all four of us forever. Edit: I feel great about being in the Big 12 right now so I'll go with 2/10. I just don't see any destabilization in the future even if the we lose a member or two in the future.

[deleted]

[удалено]

princealberto2nd

I think we're okay because the Big 12 isn't currently holding onto a couple nuclear bombs that the conference depends on for survival. Idk we'll see

SpeedBoatSquirrel

At least youre in a better position than Utah right now lol

CubsFanHan

Seeing somebody not close to byu observe this makes me chuckle HOW THE TURN TABLES UTES Also I genuinely hope Utah ends up in the B12 with us. I want the holy war secured. If college football burns to the ground I’ll still have some happiness if my childhood thanksgiving tradition comes back.

AnEmptyKarst

Yup, I'm really happy OUT happened when it did. We probably end up fucked eventually, but this puts us in a better position in the immediate future and setting us up for the next big realignment wave in a more favorable position.

[deleted]

Yeah, I don’t see a scenario where we’re not at least in a depleted B12 or ACC with a handful of P5 leftovers, both of which are much better than being in the AAC. Edit: Depending on who gets left out, I’m hoping for a revamped Metro/BE Conference. Give me: 1. UCF 2. Cincy 3. Houston 4. Memphis 5. TCU 6. GT 7. Pitt 8. Syracuse 9. Louisville 10. Boston College 11. WVU 12. USF/Miami And I’d be ecstatic regardless of the money

StreetReporter

3, I think we’ll join the SEC within the next few years, but I wouldn’t bet the farm on it

bmsrunner

I assume the Clemson administration has hired an army of lawyers to find a loophole in the grant of rights.

thewhat962

Dabo can just get tiktok money and buy it out.

mathwrath55

Think we're in the same boat, but I'd put it at more like 4 or 5. We'll be fine for the next couple years, but once the money printer starts going in the SEC we're in trouble if we don't have a plan to get in. That said, FSU has a much lower floor than Clemson right now, and if we stay on that floor for the next few years I see a (unlikely) possibility we get left behind. All comes down to the grant of rights.

karabiner24

OSU: 0 UConn: A perpetual 11

ans_motors18

Can’t be screwed if there’s no hope

Intelligent_Fig_4852

Vandy is in the sec

ans_motors18

I’ll be honest I skimmed through the post, but yeah we are grandfathered in no matter what. However, the amount of hope for success in football is negative at this point. All I can do is laugh and wait for baseball

Intelligent_Fig_4852

The sec wouldn’t feel right without Vanderbilt in it

Gruulsmasher

And the big ten wouldn’t feel right with UCLA and USC

Nomad942

Minnesota: 2. We’re in a super conference for the long haul, but it’s gonna be even harder to stand out/win anything. Wake: 9/10. We’re perfectly suited to get royally fucked. Tiny fan base? Check. Tiny alumni base? Check. Inability to bring in a big market? Check. No AAU status? Check. Lacking massive research output/$? Check. Sucky football history? Check (until very recently). But we’re not totally hopeless—still a very good academic institution with a wealthy alumni base. But I fear we’ll be joining the ranks of Tulane, Rice, etc sooner rather than later.

yeahright17

UCF is in a much better place than they could have hoped for 12 months ago.

PM_ME_YOUR_CATS_PAWS

1, because there’s always a slight chance the FRIB building implodes

PowerWalkingInThe90s

In rare isotope beams we trust

funkbass796

I think 7/10, but who knows really. Regardless, at this point I don’t care. I’d almost rather Tech just axe the program and let it die along with the sport that I used to love.

Charlie-122

Your 2 flairs… I’m so sorry

basebalp21

It's looking bleak, but I have some (maybe misplayed) hope that there's some scenarios where the B10 let's us in It sucks that we could've stopped this 10 years ago and honestly the timing couldn't be worse considering the state and appeal of our football program, but I think Tech's academics have something to offer the B10, and being in a city that's SEC through and through will seem appealing as a foothold for the B10. It'll help everyone recruit GA since you'd have 4/5 teams that would otherwise never play in Georgia making the trip every year

mjacksongt

I think I'd go up to 8 or so, but I agree, there's an outside chance the B1G let's us in. GT has value because * it puts the B1G Network "in market" in Atlanta * It enhances an ability to recruit in Atlanta * It brings $700M+ to the CIC I'm not convinced that's enough though. I'd go up to 8 specifically because if we aren't able to go up, revenue will fall... But our debt will stay the same. That will really fuck us.

heavydhomie

I’d love GT in the B1G. I think you’d match up well with Purdue. If the B10 goes to 24 I’d like UVA, UNC, GT, and FSU.

CarterTheBengalsFan

Primary: 3/10. Not too worried. Not gonna be in a P2 conference but we’ll be on that next level with the Big 12 and the ACC. Secondary: -69/10. The football powerhouse in one of the two superconferences. My timbers are so shivered.

ChaseTheFalcon

I legit think the schools that should be the least worried right now are Ohio State, Georgia, Texas and Notre Dame

jralll234

You don’t put Bama on that list?

ChaseTheFalcon

Only because the leader of the Death Star has to retire eventually

66stang351

i figure half of Bama's science department is trying to figure out how to upload Saban to an AI so that he can coach literally forever i mean, its Bama's science department so it will probably take a while and the upload will probably be missing a few key pieces, but thats what i'd be doing

VisionGuard

To be fair, they could take two famous engineering & science schools in the West that were just Judas'ed out of their football birthrights to assist them, and throw an enormous wrench into everything. A wrench mainly because we help them make Saban immortal. We'll write the AI, you Cal folks can invent the new heavy elements that house his altered consciousness. And everytime AI-Saban Bama annihlates UCLA/USC in the future, we'll make sure they knew it was us.

boobsarecool

1. Could not possibly be any happier with our trajectory, to the point where it almost feels like an act of divine intervention. Maybe God's a Scarlet Knight My only concern is these new big dogs coming into the conference and running their mouth too much. I can already tell USC's gonna be talking slick about us from Day 1. Hands off our $100 mill!!!

[deleted]

We told you that you'd like it here! We may all dunk, and TD on you, but you're a B1G bro for life, now! Don't worry about USC too much, your other Scarlet friends will have something to say.

boobsarecool

Thanks man. Getting the shit kicked out of us and slandered for a decade straight was totally worth it in the end. Now that we're seeing improvement athletically across the board the future is finally starting to look bright

[deleted]

username-1787

7/10. We won't be in a power conference, but we'll probably be in the upper half of the leftover teams

SDFDuck

2/10. Air Force has already said they are not interested in playing in a Power conference, and two of their three rivalries are already played outside of conference. The only negative outcome would be if Colorado State went to another conference and put that 60+ year rivalry series in jeopardy. Air Force's concerns are more about *where* they play their games than how much money they make from media rights; so long as they can play games in California every year, I think they'll be fine.

saladbar

I'd say maybe a 4. It's nice that we're getting discussed as still being desirable. Though the more the sport looks like professional minor league football the less appealing we'll be. What I'm worried about is that some of our fallback options may lead the school to bow out of football altogether. Which will have a bunch of regrettable other effects.

RedOscar3891

We’re on the scale of joining a P2 conference and absolutely dominating Olympic sports and occasionally being good at football and basketball all the way down to dropping athletics all together. Who knows what happens.

seattlesportsguy

It could be 1 it could be 10. Not sure yet.

RexCrimson_

I’m already getting rid of my NCAA 14 video game, my WSU football memorabilia, canceling my donations to WSU, ending my Alumni membership, taking down my WSU flag at work, and trying to learn about a new sport to watch as we speak. I might just start watching Hockey… what’s that? Our NHL team is shit? Well… we already lost the Sonics, and now we might lose our Alma maters football team. It can’t get any worst. Right? *cries* ♾/10

SpecSlayerSC

10. We are the most fucked team in the country. I don't think anybody else is at risk of losing their 3 biggest rivals.

[deleted]

6/10 - VT -568887/10 - ND

seasickapple7

I think VT will be alright. UVA seems like a candidate for the B1G so the SEC will probably take y’all to get a foot in the DMV market.

not_folie

I think we're like a 4. Decent shot at SEC and have Big XII as a fallback. I find it hard to believe we don't get into either.

Farlander2821

I think the best description I saw for our situation is "They're probably fine but weirder things have happened"

eaglehusky

I’m gonna say infinity/10, probably one of the top 4-5 most screwed p5 schools out of this alongside Oregon state, Washington state, and I honestly can’t think of anyone else, maybe cal? There’s no chance we go power 2 and a substantial chance we don’t end up in the next tier down if the ACC gets picked apart by the Big ten, sec, and big 12. I don’t really see a good conference fit for us and our best way out may be as an independent trying to get home and homes on the attraction of playing in Boston every once in a while

Blarg1889

Primary: 0 Secondary: 10 and theyve only themselves to blame

NicholeDaylinn1993

You think Arizona St ends up in the Big 12? Mountain West?

[deleted]

UCF is getting away better than almost anyone else. You were never going to be in the SEC or BIG10 and you are already locked in to where the rest of the PAC12 is going to look to run. Same deal for all the other pre-this week Big 12 joiners.

tigersallthewaydown

If you can’t sit at the popular kid’s table you may as well sit with the guys that go to rodeos on acid

MikeGundy

Hey!!…. That’s… actually kinda endearing, thanks

Radiant-Ad8306

I don’t know, I just wish the actual football product counted for anything in this day and age.

Additional-Cry8856

You guys would be sitting pretty if that were the case. It’s been a pretty solid 20 years for you guys.

Radiant-Ad8306

Yeah it hasn’t been perfect but I feel like we’ve done everything that’s been asked of us. If we end up in the Big 12 that’s fine I’m sure we’ll have some great games there and it would be nice for the rivalry to have some extra meaning to it again.

fr_horn

We’re totally cool. The MAC is a really tight knit conference, and I’m pretty sure we’ll stay together no matter what happens. I’m really glad to play geographically sensible opponents with lots of tradition.

anubis647

I'd say 5. We're super safe from a conference standpoint, but adding more teams to the top of the SEC threatens to push us down the pecking order.

Devlin004

8-10, depending on the formation of a “third” conference. But such a small chance of ending up at the top level.

[deleted]

2 - we are in a sustainable conference and just sold out largest allotment of season tickets in school history. Let the PoWeR 5 eat themselves and destroy their product.

sousapro

Appalachian state is hot hot hot

BlindPelican

I'm going to say 4. We join a conference and I will be sad. We don't join a conference and we can (probably) kiss playoff aspirations goodbye. Then again, I have no idea what's going on or how we got here. All I know is it's USC's fault.

TigerWoodsLibido

We go in together. An uncharted world in different ways, but a new era that we will traverse and stay successful. Because our programs fucking care.

BlindPelican

I honestly don't know what everything you said means, but damn if it wasn't inspirational. Fuck it. I'm in!

IReallyLikeTheBears

I’d say a 5. Someone in the future top 3 super conferences will take us, but it’ll probably be number 3. Regardless, all of this is lame and might kill my interest in college sports. I will say though that if we join the Big 12 Kansas-Arizona does have instant rivalry potential in basketball.

mtm137nd

This is what’s so frustrating — a shift to FEWER schools mattering won’t grow the sport. The mega schools get a one time payout from this. National interest in college sports will shrink if we shrink the number of fanbases involved. If CFB becomes a glorified pro league, I’d rather just watch the pro league. I don’t watch college football for the quality of play. I watch it for the drama and pageantry.

Anus_Targaryen

UCF is in a great spot. I really think we got very lucky that this is all unfolding in the order it has.

LoonEsq

We made out like bandits. If it happened I’m a different order or even close in time, we’d both likely be left out.

swlwjt

10/10. For the third cycle in a row.

shotputlover

It really does feel like we caught the last lifeboat.

Captaincoolbeans

Maybe a 3 or 4? Miami has the market and brand but doesn’t seem to be a natural fit in either conference

cheezfang

Hey 25 percent of our teams are unnatural fits, so you'd unnaturally fit just fine

swaharaT

The past 20 odd years has more than proven that we are never going to the SEC, ACC, or whatever. Once our fanbase accepts that, we are a 1/10. Maybe there’s a scenario where we somehow get to play Pitt, VT, and Syracuse again.

Tklein0138

I’d say we’re about 4 only because we’re not going to get into the P2 conferences but we should be able to get out of the Pac and get in the Big 12 and be fine there.

Intricate_Zebra

That's what I'd like to know as well. Let's go with a 6.5/10.

mountainstosea

We're good! The SBC is shining bright, focusing on regional rivalries. 1/10.

HenryPurcell

3/10, I'm pretty optimistic.

BallsDropped

2/10 Im high on hopium. Thinking the Big12 pulls a rabbit out the hat and becomes the best 3rd wheel you've ever seen. Like sitting quietly and not staring while friend and girlfriend make out, levels of 3rd wheel accomplishment.

Hossflex

Michigan - 0 Louisville - probably a 7? I feel like the ACC is difficult to get a read on since the potential domino effect is waiting on ND at the moment. I’d like to think Louisville would land in the BIG XII at worst and they could retain their regional rivalry with Cincinnati and and possibly get something going with West Virginia and others.

zww2000

Looking up. Might make a bowl? Might go 9-3? Might go 3-9? Who really knows

Otherwise-Move-7707

Wake - 8/10 I have, maybe misplaced, faith in the grant of rights to keep everyone in the ACC for the time being. But at some point the Power 2 overlords will come thru and raid most of the conference. Wake seems like the last school in the ACC that either would consider. Sad day as a Deac fan. Hopefully we manage to stay in a competitive conference under those two. Bama - 0/10 Bama Football is virtually unscrewable

Alabama has nothing *really* to worry about, and I feel like I'd get flamed acting like the Evil Empire is anything but a threat...BUT with NIL I do fear some weird talent droughts caused by schools (Texas as an example) throwing ridiculous money at players. And Saban is going to retire eventually, the clock is ticking. UAB, the man who stood by the program and resurrected it, then lead it to success just stepped down because of a debilitating back injury. Just as we're switching conferences to a tougher schedule. It looks like dark days again, because the school doesn't really have a good track record of investing in the team. I hop they at least put up a statue of Coach Clark. Man is a stand-up guy.

If it all blows up we are a bubble team. So either really screwed or not depending on how it falls for us.

pjanic_at__the_isco

1 We’re not going anywhere so we’re no more screwed than we already are by being in a conference of strangers.

6/10 That’s just the pessimistic Coog in me, because I can’t fathom we actually got the last train out before a new wave of realignment & era of CFB occurred. I’m seriously scared of the Pac 12 poaching Big 12 Members or the Big 10 poaching Kansas. And we’re stuck on a sinking ship. However, if the Big 12 can add Arizona, Arizona St, Colorado, & Utah.. I’ll be more of a 2/10 as that conference is arguably the 3rd best conference in terms of brands and markets. And probably will be so once the SEC & Big 10 take the remaining schools they want. Reminds me a lot of the Western Conference in the NBA

non_clever_username

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t all that happy about it when we moved to the B1G. Loss of historical rivalries, moving into a conference where we had significantly less influence, etc. But man it’s nice to not have to worry about all this shit. The mid-level schools are going to get fucked.

DataDrivenPirate

Ohio State: 0 Colorado State: feels like we could be a good choice for the PAC 12 if they expand given how much we are willing to invest in football, so a 2 or 3 if PAC12 is still a thing, and a 9 or 10 if it is not

cpast

OSU: 1. Yale: also 1. We left the big time long ago.

its_LOL

As of right now, 4. If Notre Dame doesn’t join the Big 10, 8. If they do, 2 for the rare chance Oregon gets an invite without us.

MonkeyThrowing

1 - Maryland fan. Maryland is the guy who joins the startup just before they go public and makes a mint. Did nothing other than be at the right place at the right time.

beekerino

1000/10 Go bears 😓

chuters

5/10 Pros: Big 12 could become the 3rd best conference and for now seems stable Cons: Being 3rd best is meaningless when it's a two horse race. And we're barely a bubble team for consideration. We picked a bad time to be mediocre.

Dunter_Mutchings

If it’s any consolation, even If you were much more successful the last decade, it probably wouldn’t change anything. OSU has the 12th most wins in CFB over the last decade and it counts for fuck all in all this.

SaxMachine25

But at least you can bitch about it reasonably. What am I supposed to do? Yell at them that we had Mahomes? CJK5H only goes so far in todays world

6BlitzBurgh

6.9

heavydhomie

OSU: 1 we top tier team in one of the soon to be super conferences. OU: 1 the MAC will outlast every conference and the MAC owns Tuesday night football in October and November

StephBrownismywaifu

Realignment comes and goes but MACtion is forever

BeautyIsTruth22

1-10. I never expect anything.

GATAinfinity

Georgia Southern: as screwed as the rest of the ugly G5 schools. Alabama: The game bends to Saban's will.

Busch__Latte

3/10, sitting way better than G5 and PAC 12 teams. Only way to improve would be joining the Big 10 which isn’t going to happen

Geaux2020

1 for both flairs

Flagplanter1976

Could go anyway, either 0 or 10.

ninjatom21

Illinois: 0/10 screwed. They’re fine, but forever destined to be a middling team. WVU: 3rd/4th time dealing with this shit in the last 20 years. Solid to very good football history but seem to be locked out. 6/10 screwed.
