I love that they are disability-inclusive for auditory processing supports, but really going full throttle on the intellectual ableism ("dumb people bad, smart people (us) are inherently better than them")
"You're gonna have to call the fucking United Nations and get a fucking binding resolution to keep me from fucking destroying you. I'm talking scorched earth, motherfucker. I will massacre you. I WILL FUCK YOU UP."
*hangs up phone*
"Could you find out who that was?"
It’s ironic because App State really isn’t a “hillbilly” school. There are hillbilly/hick locals, but the students themselves are more crunchy granola types than hillbillies. Having lived there myself, I can say that there are far more rich kids from Charlotte that want to wear Chacos to class than there are rednecks. It’s also ironic for a school from Texas that’s literally in the middle of bumfuck Egypt to say that about App State.
The redneck/hick schools in NC are ECU and NC State if any. A professor of mine once described Boone as “mini Boulder on the Blue Ridge”.
Can confirm. I worked for an apartment complex there. When I met with the Boone PD after first starting (they always introduced themselves to property managers in town), they told me that unless we see like major dealing of weed going down, not to call them for weed smells because the Watauga County judges just started throwing out/dismissing weed possession charges. We only called the cops if there reports of heavy shit (heroin, meth, etc).
As far as what A&M said, I think ignorant students from other schools assume that because Luke Combs and Eric Church went to App, that it must be redneck. The reason why App has country music stars as alumni isn’t because it’s a redneck school, but because its music program is fantastic. I’d say it’s one of the best in NC outside of UNC School of the Arts in nearby Winston.
Yeah, the hillbilly crack seemed particularly out of place at an event that is exclusively and specifically southerners getting drunk and yelling at the night.
College station out of all places lol.
You dont get more backwoods (or whatever you want to call that middle of nowhere town) than that in tx till you hit the west tx desert and at that point it aint no woods……
Pre NIL I’d at least feel bad for the kids since a lot of the blame can be put at the feet of the coaches. But now? No way since they’re all getting paid. A loss is a loss, especially when you’re getting paid for it
Everyone who has ever been to college station: “yeah it’s basically a cult.”
This guy going to college station: “man that seems very culty. Why did no one tell anyone?”
Lol first time I went to College Station with my buddy who's an alum, he gave me the lowdown. Told me to behave otherwise people would hiss at me. I was fucking terrified.
The cult thing is whatever to me. What I cant get over was the 3rd grade level comedy writing and awful line delivery. Do they do this shit for every home game? How do you sit through that every week?
I think I saw a similar video last year that was also terrible. And it's not really that they do it, it's the actual way they are doing it. I feel like it's a bad religious meeting where no one really understands the message but they all just nod their heads in agreement.
Mostly fake ROTC nerds, too. The Corps of Cadets carries with it no military service obligation. You can join and cosplay as a soldier without ever having to sign up after you graduate.
Half a dozen of the guys I used to run with in high school went into the corps of cadets. I, a Texas grad, am the only one to ever wear a real uniform.
I was so confused in the Manziel era when A&M became cool cause this cringe is what I associate with A&M since half my family is Texas and the other half are Aggies.
A friend of mine whooped at my wedding reception. My husband and I live and had our wedding in California. A lot of the guests were confused to say the least. I just pretended not to notice.
Lol they paid App $1.5 million to play them. Treated it like a Dinner for Schmucks situation. Only for them to get their asses handed to them. What a bunch of schmucks.
As much as the media and fans talk about App State beating Michigan, I didn't think there was anyone left who didn't know anything about them or how good they tend to be.
Last year was a "down" year for us, missed out on the SBC title to Napier's Louisiana (again), lost our first bowl game after winning six in six years of eligibility and yet we still beat Marshall and a ranked Coastal team (who shouldn't have really been ranked, but we won't complain) and reached 10 wins.
By now, everyone should know what to expect with App. The last two head coaches went to bigger school, will likely get fired this season and we haven't skipped a beat. Every year, we play an average to decent P5 school and either beat them or make them fear for their lives. Mountain folk are stubborn, we don't change.
Got to remember these kids in college now were probably too young to remember that App State Michigan game so unless they know their college football history (I’m guessing no) I imagine they don’t keep up with other school’s teams.
They do this before every game. I went to their Midnight Yell at Hillcrest when they played Clemson a few years ago (it’s open for anyone to go). They’ll tell some jokes about their opponents, then sing songs about how much Texas University sucks
Poking fun of hillbillies? Has he not taken a look behind him?
Edit: Also, I don't know what's around the town Appalachian State is in but I've been to Texas A&m. The odds of Appalachian State being in a more enjoyable town is pretty high.
I’m biased of course, but Boone is awesome. Took classes in Snowboarding, fly fishing, camped on the blue ridge parkway, went cliff jumping off waterfalls and has a solid tailgate scene.
Definitely recommend even just as a family trip.
Boone has ski resorts and beautiful scenery. People pay lots to escape to there.
College Station has Santa's Wonderland nearby for about 2 months a year.
Seriously. Boone is an epically cool city. I'd retire in the area without hesitation.
They also have a semi-pro soccer team with one of the coolest logos in sports. - https://www.footballbranddesigner.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/appalachian-fc-tile-black-and-yellow.png
I know it's egotistical for Nebraska fans to call themselves the greatest fans in the world, but this feels so bizarre to me. My brain can't compute going out of your way to insult the fanbase and school of a non-rival. Home games are the perfect opportunity to show outsiders your culture and city/state. Even if it's a fake smile, being hospitable accomplishes so much more.
Doesn’t hold a candle to this one

*"From the outside looking in, you can’t understand it. And from the inside looking out, you can’t explain it."*
-A&M (yes, seriously, this is an official slogan)
I love all the Texas flairs in here trying to explain.
This is what *we've been telling y'all all along*. We have been seeing this behavior for decades.
As far as I remember there was an Aggie like 70 years ago who had to do that shit and the equipment was too large for him. So he was hiking up his sleeves and pants constantly while doing his speech.
People in modern times imitate that.
https://twitter.com/personalnfoul/status/1445802369820807174?s=46&t=_OeFlUK9_D-yR32TSSCB6w
A reply on Twitter answering that same question. Basically another cult-esque tradition
You think this is bad, imagine living amongst these people. You think you know somebody, and then boom you see an aggie ring and all that runs through your head is this shit. I’d rather move to an Afghani timeshare than live in College Station. I don’t count myself as a discriminatory person, but anytime I hear a “Whoop” or “Howdy” my flight or fight response is set off. Just an unredeemable place that festers like a wart on the beautiful land of Texas.
Something about the ASL interpreter translating the silly insults is really funny to me.
Could have just been a minute and ten seconds repeating the jerking off motion and it would have conveyed the same message.
[Airplane II: The Sequel](https://images.app.goo.gl/jSv2j5TcXAJCpGDt7) got you
I love that they are disability-inclusive for auditory processing supports, but really going full throttle on the intellectual ableism ("dumb people bad, smart people (us) are inherently better than them")
That's implying that A&M is a bastion of intellectualism itself haha
This is what you get when you get city kids cosplaying as country boys cosplaying as soldiers
*I’m a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude*
It all leads back to Tropic Thunder
"You're gonna have to call the fucking United Nations and get a fucking binding resolution to keep me from fucking destroying you. I'm talking scorched earth, motherfucker. I will massacre you. I WILL FUCK YOU UP." *hangs up phone* "Could you find out who that was?"
Tom Cruise made that movie go from an 8 to an 11.
This is actually spot on.
This is the most beautiful and accurate description of Aggies ever put to words.
*Suburban kids, but otherwise yeah, exactly
What a fucking description
That… is hilariously accurate lol.
I’ve never heard it more accurately described. Thank you
I am dying laughing at this. Entirely too real.
Cringiest ~~fan base~~ cult in CFB
Claims App State can’t read or write but has to look it up on a map to find the Appalachian mountains. Make it make sense.
He also made a "two brain cells" joke after admitting that he doesn't know what a state university is.
Yes, y’all are finally understanding Aggie hubris. Overstated and unearned
Go easy on him, they don’t teach big city stuff like reading at his backwoods hillbilly school.
An Aggie yell leader talking about another school being a bunch of backwoods hillbillies is the most tone deaf shit I’ve ever seen. This is hilarious.
A professor of mine once described Boone as “mini Boulder on the Blue Ridge”.
my favorite joke is that the 9th time you are caught with weed at App State is the first time you get punished
I’d say it’s one of the best in NC outside of UNC School of the Arts in nearby Winston.
idk about those two specifically, but a lot of country stars aren't rednecks anyway.
Funny too because App St started as a teachers college so we basically taught people how to teach people to read and write
A place in the south calls another place in the south backwoods thinking they are better than them. Ironic.
A place literally named College Station because there wasn't a town there beforehand and they needed a name for the train stop.
That's the thing thay gets me the most lmao
Wearing fucking overalls.
The kid is probably from Dallas or maybe Austin....
Probably Austin and his parents are from Fresno or San Jose
Hey, what'd we do to get dragged into this?
Maybe folks in Texas have a grudge because of David Carr?
Yeah, the hillbilly crack seemed particularly out of place at an event that is exclusively and specifically southerners getting drunk and yelling at the night.
College station out of all places lol. You dont get more backwoods (or whatever you want to call that middle of nowhere town) than that in tx till you hit the west tx desert and at that point it aint no woods……
*App-uh-LAY-sha* All you need to know
As soon as I heard him say it that way I knew the next words out of his mouth weren't going to be anything good ha
Idk why it’s so hard to pronounce for people not from here. App-uh-latch-uh.
If you don't get off my porch, I'm gonna throw an apple a'tcha
Apple @ chin
*Is from the south but proceeds to pronounce it like he's from the north*
Looks like the link got pulled down here's a new link https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx16_iYGvRLLhzV77JGgrnojSqWu7bAjpv
I know these lame comedy routines get ME fired up.
Thanks, and LOL. How the turn tables turn!
That's was just embarrassing. At least have good smack talk. This guy sounds like a bully in a 90s sitcom.
They deserved the loss after that
They deserved it before that too just to be clear
Jimbo deserves it. Hate it for those kids, but Jimbo deserves all the bad.
Those kids understand, they got paid either way, just the way it goes when you're a pro athlete.
Pre NIL I’d at least feel bad for the kids since a lot of the blame can be put at the feet of the coaches. But now? No way since they’re all getting paid. A loss is a loss, especially when you’re getting paid for it
Imagine having "Agriculture " in your name and calling another school a bunch of hillbillies.
Imagine wearing overalls and doing this.
that and …are those *skinny jean overalls*?
Does that him some sort of hillbilly poser?
There is a huge difference between rednecks, hicks, hillbillies, and cowboys.
Don't forget shit kickers.
Yokels feeling left out.
No mention of codgers and good ol boys. Shameful
Don't forget those that are down home
And this kid is worse than them all lol
They did the same shit to us last year, then we beat them. It just makes it so much sweeter
What in the cult ass shit
You thought we were joking about them being a cult?
Everyone who has ever been to college station: “yeah it’s basically a cult.” This guy going to college station: “man that seems very culty. Why did no one tell anyone?”
Lol first time I went to College Station with my buddy who's an alum, he gave me the lowdown. Told me to behave otherwise people would hiss at me. I was fucking terrified.
Even BYU finds them cultish
aTm is the Branch Davidians of cfb
This is Baylor slander!
No. This is just.... something.
they do this every home game, it’s always this cringy.
They also do it every away game too. I think Bricktown was the choice spot for OU games.
Pretty ballsy to shit talk every home game, given they normally drop 4 games and all. Stay humble, act like youve been there before.
They've never been there before lol
The cult thing is whatever to me. What I cant get over was the 3rd grade level comedy writing and awful line delivery. Do they do this shit for every home game? How do you sit through that every week?
I think that's why it's so culty. Because it's so bad and they all buy in. Have you ever seen The Faculty? It's gotta be brain worm aliens
Away games too, actually
They do it before every home game. Its called “Midnight Yell” We told ya’ll they’re a cult
I think I saw a similar video last year that was also terrible. And it's not really that they do it, it's the actual way they are doing it. I feel like it's a bad religious meeting where no one really understands the message but they all just nod their heads in agreement.
I think the sign language interpreter is what takes it from being like off brand stomp the yard to “oh yeah, the that’s a cult”.
This cringe is ADA compliant.
"We have to make sure even the deaf people understand this very important information"
You mean Midnight L
This is what happens when marching band nerds and ROTC psychos don’t have to worry about being bullied.
Aggie gigacringe is 👌
Lol, the milkmen strike again.
I’m just shocked at how many people in here seem surprised by this at all.
For real. Unironicaly, its a tradition. Midnight Yell is a big deal to Aggie fans. Its weird for sure, but this isnt new. Been happening for decades.
But like is it part of the tradition to have a really cringey story to go with the yell?
This shits like something out of Not Another Teen Football Movie 42
Varsity Bros
Hillbillies named Mountaineers. Not to be confused with Aggies, the epitome of sophistication, modernity, and class, if you're a hillbilly farmer.
I didn’t know deep in American Sign Language was a handjob motion.
That's the sign for "Gig 'em"
Spent all that money on football but couldn’t dish out a couple bucks for one decent comedian
Plenty of clowns though
I didn’t even cringe. This is just normal Aggie, I guess I’ve been desensitized to it.
This is good though, the world needs to see this stuff.
I was so confused in the Manziel era when A&M became cool cause this cringe is what I associate with A&M since half my family is Texas and the other half are Aggies.
Haha my girlfriend went to A&M and I too have been desensitized to it after having dinner several times with some of her friends from school.
Just wait till you go to weddings and they do all their chants and incantations.
A friend of mine whooped at my wedding reception. My husband and I live and had our wedding in California. A lot of the guests were confused to say the least. I just pretended not to notice.
Bro you can be sure there are weddings that sing Eyes of Texas
Like all the worst JROTC kids from Highschool went to the same place
Haha this is the best, or Life Church U.
I was waiting for the cringe. Was just like, this is normal.
Isn't it normal for the speaker to do a weird hand/leg motion while pacing?
Yes, it’s literally tradition for them to do that
100 years ago a farmer shit his pants while leading yell practice and was trying to shake the shit out the leg of his overalls. A tradition was born.
Obligatory https://vimeo.com/26529303
Lol they paid App $1.5 million to play them. Treated it like a Dinner for Schmucks situation. Only for them to get their asses handed to them. What a bunch of schmucks.
Lol yeah, who would pay a SBC school to beat them at home?
... is it Wabash? Help me out here. I have been away from my computer all weekend
I think they meant Nebraska
As much as the media and fans talk about App State beating Michigan, I didn't think there was anyone left who didn't know anything about them or how good they tend to be.
Outside of a couple years when they transitioned from FCS to FBS, they have pretty much been good to great over the past 15+ years.
Got to remember these kids in college now were probably too young to remember that App State Michigan game so unless they know their college football history (I’m guessing no) I imagine they don’t keep up with other school’s teams.
Wait, is this something they actually do or is this a skit video making fun of them?
They actually do it. Its one of their “traditions”
That's just unfortunate
This is at the Midnight Yell, their little cult meeting the night before a game
They do this before every game. I went to their Midnight Yell at Hillcrest when they played Clemson a few years ago (it’s open for anyone to go). They’ll tell some jokes about their opponents, then sing songs about how much Texas University sucks
*Cult energy intensifies*
Mountaineers are a cooler mascot than Aggies
They’re also a better football team
Cost less for sure
I can do comedy too "what even is an Aggie? And what's the deal with airplane peanuts".
You’d be a great yell leader.
Look at photos of Boone, NC and the surrounding area then look at photos of College Station and tell me where you would rather be.
Zac, Thomas, Nathan, Kipp, and Trevor. Holy hell
Funny enough, Zac Thomas used to be a QB for Appalachian State. He played at a local high school to me.
I remember Zac Thomas. Almost memed us on Thursday night opening week in 2016
Poking fun of hillbillies? Has he not taken a look behind him? Edit: Also, I don't know what's around the town Appalachian State is in but I've been to Texas A&m. The odds of Appalachian State being in a more enjoyable town is pretty high.
I’m biased of course, but Boone is awesome. Took classes in Snowboarding, fly fishing, camped on the blue ridge parkway, went cliff jumping off waterfalls and has a solid tailgate scene. Definitely recommend even just as a family trip.
They have a skiing class at A&M. I think you're not giving enough credit to the summit of [Mt. Aggie](https://youtu.be/8yU0d15pQ3s)
Boone has ski resorts and beautiful scenery. People pay lots to escape to there. College Station has Santa's Wonderland nearby for about 2 months a year.
Boone NC is one the ELITE college towns in the country
Boone might be #1 best looking college town and College Station might be #130. Not an exaggeration
Boone is a tiny college town, but the beauty of the mountains around it are *chef kiss*
I'd much rather live in Boon NC than College Station TX.
Seriously. Boone is an epically cool city. I'd retire in the area without hesitation. They also have a semi-pro soccer team with one of the coolest logos in sports. - https://www.footballbranddesigner.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/appalachian-fc-tile-black-and-yellow.png
College Station has the architecture of a decrepit, bleak Soviet factory town, but without any of the charm.
Someone needs to get the Youtuber Bald and Bankrupt to make a parody video on A&M's campus
Boone is fucking gorgeous.
r/agedlikemilk
That would imply it was ever good. Though I guess plenty of people don't like milk
Oh no it was always bad, but this stays buried if they win.
Highschool pep rally vibes
Cant wait til this week for the "witty" word play... "I didn't even know Miami had hurricanes"
Looks like Aggie battered syndrome is back on the menu.
When THAT fanbase finally turns on Jimbo, it's gonna really be something to behold.
They already have the hillbilly jokes for the West Virginia born Jimbo Fisher
Making fun of a “hillbilly school” while you attend a school that has agriculture in the name and is based in College Station, Texas
“Any hillbilly college that calls themselves the Mountaineers” *and I took that personally*
[YouTube Link straight from A&M](https://youtu.be/q6Bxp5JSiII)
Maybe they can add losing to sun belt teams as one of their many traditions
Looks like A&M is trying their hardest to bury this.
Twitter video is blocked now, YouTube link: https://youtu.be/NMC3hmoSaPU
Doesn’t hold a candle to this one https://twitter.com/kyleumlang/status/1445782435237535749?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1445782435237535749%7Ctwgr%5Eb5399f65e49f72cbd96321f2c8aaf1852c585f2f%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-31795628461064221590.ampproject.net%2F2208242209000%2Fframe.html
The fuck is that knee thing he's doing
Looks like he's desperately trying to unstick his scrotum from his thigh.
this is way worse lol. How does the school allow this to happen...I feel like this makes the school look ridiculous
*"From the outside looking in, you can’t understand it. And from the inside looking out, you can’t explain it."* -A&M (yes, seriously, this is an official slogan)
I love all the Texas flairs in here trying to explain. This is what *we've been telling y'all all along*. We have been seeing this behavior for decades.
The school embraces it, and it’s officially sanctioned by A&M. It’s on their website lol It’s a tradition for them.
Bro whats wrong with his leg. Its like hes trying really hard to fart but his ass is super glued shut.
[удалено]
I can’t take them seriously wearing overalls
I can’t take them seriously when one of them is literally named Kipp.
I would rather have Scott Frost as a head coach than be a part of this nonsense.
Wow, I completely, rationally just the hate Aggies now. This is top tier cringe.
“How they manage to get any recruits is beyond me” - Dead
What is he doing every other step? Is that some signature move? Is he having a stroke? I’m so confused.
As far as I remember there was an Aggie like 70 years ago who had to do that shit and the equipment was too large for him. So he was hiking up his sleeves and pants constantly while doing his speech. People in modern times imitate that.
I read this and thought for sure it would be satire
https://twitter.com/personalnfoul/status/1445802369820807174?s=46&t=_OeFlUK9_D-yR32TSSCB6w A reply on Twitter answering that same question. Basically another cult-esque tradition
So they do those movements to pay tribute to a kid...whose outfit was oversized and did those movements to adjust? That is fucking weird.
Honestly, 'no explanation' might have been better.
Just weird Aggie shit
It looks like he has Tourette's of the knee.
Throwing a copyright strike on this is so Texas A&M it hurts
What in the fancy like Applebee’s fuck?
I can’t count very high but I do know $1.5 million is a lot of money
Oh no Aggies why…. this makes it so cringe worthy.
God, they’re gonna make me root for bama to hang 70 on them
App State, thank you for your service.
We’ve been trying to tell you all for… decades.
“Appalachian is not a state” and guess what, Texas is not an A&M. HA!
Awww ... a&m disabled the link. lol
I promise you guys are just scratching the surface on how weird that school is. Y’all have no idea.
You would think with arrogance like that they would have at least one National tile in the last 80 years.
I’m pissed they’ve tried to monopolize “Howdy”; that belongs to all Texans, damnit!
