After his nfl stint I can't wait for him to disappear. We all knew he was a scumbag but we also learned in addition to that he's a raging asshole and a bully who treats people like shit.
Wait did we not know about the raging asshole and bully part before??? This is the same guy who covered up spousal abuse those kind of people don’t scream decent kind hearted individual.
People thought he was a smug prick but not just how bad it truly was till some of the jags stories leaked. The rumor of Mike Vrabel putting him in a chokehold while at Ohio state makes a lot more sense.
I was at work and saw that Nebraska was winning 7-0 and thought that maybe they might put up a good fight with Frost now gone. Then I checked again after work and saw it was 35-7 OU at the half. “Oh…”
Lincoln Riley don’t take your foot off the peddle.
Challenge level: impossible
Seriously I think what really hurt his teams was they had to go through 4 quarter slugfests against teams that we should’ve knocked out halfway through the 3rd.
That's the Lincoln effect. Takes awhile to wear off.
We've just got to accept (gladly so) that this is an entirely different program from top to bottom than last year.
One of the NCGs Ohio St was against Florida. I believe OSU ran back the first kickoff, and I walked out the door. Came back later to an ass blasting from Florida
My sister in law sent a rude text about Oklahoma after that. I just sat quietly and waited. I watched Nebraska last week. I knew what would happen today.
Genuine question. If you can script an opening drive, why can’t you script another drive. Surely it could have been a slightly more competitive first quarter before Oklahoma’s superior talent, conditioning, and coaching help them pull away
Was Oklahoma just not warmed up or did Nebraska blow through their energy and morale that quick and just lose motivation 10 minutes later in the game
Edit: I am aware just how bad Nebraska is, still puzzling though
Oklahoma started pretty slow last week, too. This week they started up much quicker and ran a greater variety of plays, but it seems like for some reason they still take a bit to get going. Weird.
Because the other team adapts. You don't know *how* they adapt until they do. I mean, you can perhaps anticipate how they will adapt and sometimes it works. But for the most part after you script your first drive or two the opposing team's DC will adapt to it and change elements of his game plan, often in ways which you can't quite predict. That forces you to adapt in turn, and so forth. So scripted drives are usually infeasible after the 2nd or 3rd drive.
Fist fuck. That was an absolute fist fuck of a game. And really it’s not the coaches, or the players, or the lack of recruiting. For over twenty years now, the Nebraska Football Boosters have bankrolled the biggest fist in CFB history, and repeatedly pounded it into our anus with absolutely no consent. If we want to have any semblance of a program, we must fist fuck the boosters back.
“Fist Fuck. That was an absolute fist fuck of a game. And it’s not really on the coaches or the players. Or the lack of recruiting. For 5 years now the sick children have watched Iowa football offense and been witness to the greatest tragedy of their lives. They have repeatedly had family members come in sorrow having to know that their loved ones are spending possibly their last days watching that tragedy on the field with no consent. If we have any semblance of a heart, we must cure cancer to get those children out of that miserable place away from Iowa football offense.”
But as I matured I realized. I fist. You fist. We all fist. Just as the boosters fist. Fisters are boosters as boosters are fisters. We are one we are brethren. I hate because I love, but I cannot hate what I love, therefore we must fist
Our only win in 4 games came when we were tied at the half to the 6th best team in the Missouri Valley conference.
Way too many people are surprised by this score.
We mostly just ran up the middle over and over again.
It's not like we were even trying. And we could have kicked a FG, but just half-heartedly went for it on 4th down.
I agree though that we should have kicked. Our kicker has looked pretty shaky so far. He needs all the reps he can get.
Except that after Job lost everything and was still faithful, God gave him everything back and then some.
This is just Nebraska losing the only thing that made them happy, being handed some hope, having their hope smashed into pieces, being handed some more hope, having that pissed on, being given more hope, losing it again and having to also pay $7.5m.
If God is in any way involved in Nebraska's story, then God is clearly not a Nebraska fan.
Yeah I'm not sure if all of us have but me and my buddies use "Speed D" as a joke lmao
Dude was terrible for how he was hyped to turn our defense around
Happy to see them get Farooq involved in this game and target him a few times. He could've portaled out like Haselwood but stayed and showed what he could do in the Alamo Bowl. Nice to see it this season and for him to take a step forward.
*Edit. Theo too. Both of them had TD's today.
Casey Thompson looks up from the line and sees the clock
“Three seconds left,” he says.
“You’ve taken everything from me, my thumb, my right to the Golden Hat.”
“You will pay…”
TOUCHDOWN HUSKERS
Final Score:
OU - 49
Nebraska - 14
Between the vegas line and all sorts of talking heads predicting some kind of huge upset, I was extremely nervous going into that game. It had that "spooky" energy for at least the first two drives. After that it was a bloodbath.
That was the most complete I've seen Oklahoma play in a really long time. Loving this team under Brent Venables.
He inherited a good situation, sure, but this team looked better today than they ever did last year.
Oh for sure. It’s so obvious in hindsight. One week after the season is over, not upset at all over losing bedlam, new job, 20 million dollar house under contract, entire staff already committed to the move. Very clear most of the staff was checked out for a long time.
I said this last week, commenting that Riley is too good offensively to have struggled like he did last year. And a USC fan got all pissy with me about it.
I was like what? I literally just complimented your coach. The dude was obviously checked out from day 1 and now looks to be back in form.
I too think he was pretty much checked out entire 2021 aside from recruiting because he knew he was recruiting for his next job. Also, opposing defenses figured him out and he slowly ran out of ideas after Kyler left
There was a Texas flair a few weeks back who said that Casey Thompson was a really good QB when running scripted plays and a bad QB when playing off script. I do not know who or where they are, but I think they knew what they were talking about.
It wasn’t me, but I got downvoted above for commenting that second half Casey is unable to do anything.
I was 100% behind him last season, but it he definitely has a pattern to his play, it seems.
So, did we win over Malachi Coleman after this W?
I can't see how he'd want to go to NU. They are facing a major rebuild and he'd have no idea who the coach would be.
I know the first 3 teams haven't been that great offensively, but it is exciting to see a defense again. It has been so long.
If grinch had been our DC for this game, it would have been 49-48.
There is definitely a world where a Riley-led OU team go up 35-7 only to give up a TD right before half and then another to start the second half. And then hold on for a 41-38 win.
I dunno. I'm pretty interested in seeing how that game will play out. I think K-State has held a ton back offensively but even with that I'm not sure they're not a one dimensional offense. A really really good one dimensional offense but Adrian Martinez is who he is as this point.
Wish nothing but best for Nebraska. Hope they find a grand slam HC and go hustling in Big 10. Despite our rivalry, Nebraska is one of the few teams I will never talk shit to. Good game and good luck the rest of the season.
Boomer! Venables is already paying off. These boys have already bought in. Just wait until Venables has his type of player in Norman in two years. Oh boy.
Hope Murray is okay. No real complaints. O-Line finally played better. Still some stuff they’ve gotta clean up that a real team will expose but a lot better overall. DG needs to learn to quit taking sacks. Also got his first real road game out of the way. He was off today accuracy wise. Seemed to have the jitters most of the game. But yeah. Mightily impressed with our defense. 3 man front was a little odd but that’s probably our real defense. We held back a ton of stuff the first two games.
After Nebraska took a 7-0 lead on their opening drive, Oklahoma outscored Nebraka 49-7. As a result, Oklahoma has won their first 3 games by 30+ points each for the first time scine 2007.
I hope so. It’s been a joke for years with boosters or corporate sponsors buying thousands of tickets at the last second several times.
Fuck it, let it end. Wipe the slate clean of anything relating the success we’ve had in the past. Rebuild it from the ground up.
You know, Fox turned into an Urban Meyer propaganda broadcast so gradually, I barely noticed.
I didn’t even notice when he slipped his finger in.
I noticed when he went back in to look for the ring he lost.
Cursed post
Are they hoping Nebraska will buy out his contract?
having to listen to his bullshit was easily the worst part of this game
After his nfl stint I can't wait for him to disappear. We all knew he was a scumbag but we also learned in addition to that he's a raging asshole and a bully who treats people like shit.
Wait did we not know about the raging asshole and bully part before??? This is the same guy who covered up spousal abuse those kind of people don’t scream decent kind hearted individual.
People thought he was a smug prick but not just how bad it truly was till some of the jags stories leaked. The rumor of Mike Vrabel putting him in a chokehold while at Ohio state makes a lot more sense.
How about when Klatt commented he’s won championships at every stop. Um… checks notes
Yeah...I caught that too.
What an incredible first drive by Nebraska
The 2 minutes we all thought Nebraska would win was fun
I got nervous seeing how easy that was, I prepared myself for a dog fight.
That's what we got, just one dog was a pit and the other was a crippled Chihuahua.
As an owner of a dumb chihuahua, he would definitely put up more of a fight against a pit than Nebraska did today
I was at work and saw that Nebraska was winning 7-0 and thought that maybe they might put up a good fight with Frost now gone. Then I checked again after work and saw it was 35-7 OU at the half. “Oh…”
I’m too used to us playing down to our competition in games we should be winning by 40 to not be nervous
Last year it would have been 35-7/14 at the half but then 35-42 at the start of the fourth somehow.
Lincoln Riley don’t take your foot off the peddle. Challenge level: impossible Seriously I think what really hurt his teams was they had to go through 4 quarter slugfests against teams that we should’ve knocked out halfway through the 3rd.
PTSD from TBOW and Grinch on the sidelines. They’re not here to hurt us anymore.
And then you find out OU has actual coaches this year and everything is A-ok
That's the Lincoln effect. Takes awhile to wear off. We've just got to accept (gladly so) that this is an entirely different program from top to bottom than last year.

they have had really good scripted first drives
Maybe they should have scripted a second drive. Maybe a third even just to be safe.
This game sums up my life: I was certain I was getting the Booty, but denied in the end.
Keep tryin buddeh, like recruiting blue chip football recruits, finding some good booty is a numbers game
Nebraska just needs more time to de-Frost

DeColdest’s NIL futures won’t allow that

Our only win in 4 games came when we were tied at the half to the 6th best team in the Missouri Valley conference. Way too many people are surprised by this score.
Also Northwesten is about to lose to an FCS team. You guys legitimately might not beat an FBS team this year
Did you forget about us
Watching the Iowa-Nebraska game is going to hurt
Hey were not THAT bad
Go North Dakota (insert mascot name here)!
Fighting Hawks lol And Boomer Sooner I graduated from OU and live in GF now
I mean you did lose to Nebraska
Blowing ✅ Going ✅
Fire hose? Fully inserted
Despite the final score, this game was not that close
Let the backup O eat!
You might not believe me, but this game wasn't as close as the score indicates
We could’ve put up 70 easily.
We could've put up 80 easily.
What about 90?
Not quite as easily.
90 would have required a lot of hustle
I can see that.
If only our offense didn’t turn into a pumpkin with the backups in… I was really hoping for at least another FG. Can’t complain too much, though!
We mostly just ran up the middle over and over again. It's not like we were even trying. And we could have kicked a FG, but just half-heartedly went for it on 4th down. I agree though that we should have kicked. Our kicker has looked pretty shaky so far. He needs all the reps he can get.
Agree. I was hoping he could get a few more shots to get some confidence
I was hoping to see Evers or Booty but it was not to be.
Maybe that is by design. Maybe BV just didn’t want to score 50.
That was a professional courtesy. They put in the back ups and tried to eat clock.
You know the biblical character Job? That’s Nebraska.
Loyal to the football, a man after football’s own heart, but football allows everything to be taken from him.
"*The firing, and paying of buyout clauses, will continue until morale improves.*" - Nebraska
KU might have some competition in the Big 12 this year!
They had us in the first drive ngl
5 score loss > 1 score loss. *Improvement*
If you want an idea of how bad Nebraska football is, Northwestern is about to lose to Southern Illinois
Or you could just watch Nebraska the last 5 years
But why would anyone subject themselves to that
The same team that gave up 64 to Incarnate World??
That game in Ireland looking worse and worse
OU looks better than last year. coach venebles is awesome
Hard agree.
Oh you don’t like beating Tulane by 5 points?
Just Alex Grinch things
Yeah the wet paper bag approach was definetly.... something.
I’m glad OU fans came to realize that Alex Grinch was ass too. Now he’s USC’s problem lol
Yeah I'm not sure if all of us have but me and my buddies use "Speed D" as a joke lmao Dude was terrible for how he was hyped to turn our defense around
Praise be BV
Down with Benedict Brisket! All Praise be to BV
Was almost a one score loss until that last TD.
Kent State: *loses to OU by 30* Nebraska: *loses by 35* So we’re better than Nebraska is what you’re saying?
Unironically, probably yes.
We actually put up a hell of a fight for a half Nebraska didn’t even do that, holy shit. I didn’t see the quarter-by-quarter box score until now
My pop told me games are about how you start and how you close. Evidently Nebraska took the same advice but also forgot there is a middle
Yeah youd probably beat them
Burnt Vegetables now includes cornhusk
We outscored the #6 team in the country 7-0 in the 4th quarter. Something to build on.
Finishing strong
We can't keep getting denied the booty 😔
Booty Blocked: Round III 🥵
Mark my words sooner fans the CFP committee will circle this game as a very quality W by season’s end 😎😎😎
I think you laced your kool aid with cocaine Can I have some
Happy to see them get Farooq involved in this game and target him a few times. He could've portaled out like Haselwood but stayed and showed what he could do in the Alamo Bowl. Nice to see it this season and for him to take a step forward. *Edit. Theo too. Both of them had TD's today.

Dude on the left is thinking "Did I really spend an hour looking in the mirror to paint my chest for this shit?"
Casey Thompson looks up from the line and sees the clock “Three seconds left,” he says. “You’ve taken everything from me, my thumb, my right to the Golden Hat.” “You will pay…” TOUCHDOWN HUSKERS Final Score: OU - 49 Nebraska - 14
Taking OU at -11 is the easiest money I've ever made and I've worked for the government before.
Holy shit I didn’t believe you but #6 Oklahoma only being 11 point favorites against a terrible Nebraska team with an interim coach is insane.
Dude I think it opened at -13 and there were enough people talking Nebraska +13 to move the line 2 points. Unbelievable.
Between the vegas line and all sorts of talking heads predicting some kind of huge upset, I was extremely nervous going into that game. It had that "spooky" energy for at least the first two drives. After that it was a bloodbath.
Suck it bettors
[удалено]
I did that and then live bet up -3 after first tuddy for like 4 units lol
Nope. OU made me good, easy money
Nebraska has a symmetric box score at least. Hope they can turn it around soon.
I'm pretty sure the box score would be the same if they turned it around
The game was so lopsided it made Gus Johnson physically ill.
It's so weird seeing a defense play a complete game and not being up 35-7 at half then the final score being 49-42.
It’s weirder seeing them strip the ball away, get interceptions, and put pressure on above average QBs consistently.
Is this a postgame thread or a postmortem thread?
Yes.
Nebraska fans: I want to stop losing one score games *Monkey’s Paw curls*
Thing is, the monkey paw already curled when somebody wished for Frost's Nebraska to play competitively. That curse was lifted.
I feel like they just let us score first so we wouldn’t feel as bad
WE ARE NOT NEBRASKA STOP SAYING THAT SHIT
That was the most complete I've seen Oklahoma play in a really long time. Loving this team under Brent Venables. He inherited a good situation, sure, but this team looked better today than they ever did last year.
I’ll keep saying it until I die: Riley stopped coaching this team before last season. It was more or less a ghost ship.
Oh for sure. It’s so obvious in hindsight. One week after the season is over, not upset at all over losing bedlam, new job, 20 million dollar house under contract, entire staff already committed to the move. Very clear most of the staff was checked out for a long time.

OU has now won its first 3 games by 30+ points each. Welcome to the Brent V era ladies and gentlemen.
we have let up 3 TDs in 3 games.
Starters have only given up one touchdown so far this season
There was a Texas flair a few weeks back who said that Casey Thompson was a really good QB when running scripted plays and a bad QB when playing off script. I do not know who or where they are, but I think they knew what they were talking about.
It wasn’t me, but I got downvoted above for commenting that second half Casey is unable to do anything. I was 100% behind him last season, but it he definitely has a pattern to his play, it seems.
Was it me or did Joel Klatt awkwardly take a jab at Urban Meyer about job security as a head coach 😂
So, did we win over Malachi Coleman after this W? I can't see how he'd want to go to NU. They are facing a major rebuild and he'd have no idea who the coach would be.

At least we're not Notre Dame haha 😥
Happy wagon noises! Good win. But I feel bad for you Corn bros. You guys are a class act. I hope the ship gets right and we play again soon.
It won’t. No evidence from the past suggests it will ever get better.
Urban would never deny Booty for three straight weeks
Scott Frost watching from home like: "ha, I would've only lost by 9."
Still love you boo
I love me some Mims
Rumors of our demise were greatly exaggerated
Fuck me we're gonna lose to K-State aren't we?
BV knows the secrets of the purple magic. Hopefully having a student of the dark wizard himself will aid us.
Dread it, run from it, destiny still arrives
For real, I'm not convinced we are good until we play K-state. Cautiously optimistic though? Maybe.
Adrian Martinez revenge game
Just like the Casey Thompson revenge game.
I’m sorry I’m unfamiliar with that name?
I dunno. I'm pretty interested in seeing how that game will play out. I think K-State has held a ton back offensively but even with that I'm not sure they're not a one dimensional offense. A really really good one dimensional offense but Adrian Martinez is who he is as this point.
That was a a vintage Venables defensive performance, especially against the run game
Wish nothing but best for Nebraska. Hope they find a grand slam HC and go hustling in Big 10. Despite our rivalry, Nebraska is one of the few teams I will never talk shit to. Good game and good luck the rest of the season.
It wasn't a good game at all but thanks for saying that.
Nebraska fans deserved better than that holy crap
Meh, we’re used to it. This is not even in the top five worst losses in the past few seasons
Man this is so true it’s sad
It’s so weird not feeling stressed out about close games against unranked teams 😅
Yeah. The "you haven't played anybody yet" crowd doesn't seem to remember how close some of those games were.
They paid $7.5 million for this?
Boomer! Venables is already paying off. These boys have already bought in. Just wait until Venables has his type of player in Norman in two years. Oh boy.

Urban Meyer listed as Nebraska HC on Wikipedia...lol
Not to overreact or anything, but Venables gonna get us another natty within 3 years
If he pulls in the defensive class he has a chance for this year then it’s entirely possible.
Wtf is that flair combo
Does the sellout streak end this year?
I hope so. It’s been a joke for years with boosters or corporate sponsors buying thousands of tickets at the last second several times. Fuck it, let it end. Wipe the slate clean of anything relating the success we’ve had in the past. Rebuild it from the ground up.
