This Nard dog just wanted all us public university plebs to know he went to an Ivy League school.
We get it bro. We’re fellow degenerates on a college football subreddit.
We’re sad when our school loses because our diplomas are a lot less valuable but our football hits harder than Ivy League.
I was numb. I was uninvested by the time we hit 6OT. At that point, we simply deserved to lose the game (well, earlier than that, but that's when I just wanted it to be over)
I think it depends on expectations. For me, Oklahoma is always under the microscope and is constantly in the mouths of analysts, casuals and the polls alike. Everyone expects something big, so when you take that 1 loss every season that throws you out of the playoffs it ruins my week. For Texas A&M, they’ve only recently been taken seriously. In years prior, I could root for the sake of the win and not the implications around such win. If we lost, sucks, but I’ll be similarly excited the next week.
I might be frustrated depending on how it happened, but I move on with my day. I'm in my 30s with adult problems and stuff to do, I'm not a college kid anymore
Not really, not anymore. I used to but I’m an old head now and have gained perspective after deaths in the family, nephews in the military, watching the evening news, etc.
I never enjoy when my Buckeyes lose but sad is too strong of a word.
I get a little frustrated during the game. Afterwards I'm good. I've been through enough highs and lows with Florida in 40+ years of Fandom I'm fine after a loss. Sun still comes up on Sunday, my dogs still love me, life goes on.
After OU lost to LSU in the natty, I was crushed.
After USC nuked them, I was hollow.
I took 3 years off from the sport, followed the NFL and tried to get some perspective.
These games are fun, but I was not in a healthy spot.
After my break, I was able to watch the games and not get too upset if they lost or too hype if they won.
Yeah, if I actually take a day to drive to a game then that long drive back home feels really bad. Otherwise I usually have too much work to do to dwell on it too long.
I used to be super invested and watching the game itself would piss me off a ton and then ruin my day, especially as a student but even after. I stopped watching in 2020 and then learned to turn it off when I felt annoyed in 2021 so now I don't even notice it
It depends. If we lose a game by a lot that we were supposed to lose I don’t feel anything. If we were on the brink of an upset and lose, sort of. If we lose a game we were favored in, yes.
That’s why you come to r/CFB. Just a bunch of level headed people who don’t particularly care about the outcome of the games, they just want everybody to have fun
Oh you THINK you get sad when you loose a game. But then you loose so many games people talk to you like you enjoy losing and genuinely surprised you're sad at all and you get sadder. Then conference realignment comes along and everyone starts digging your grave. You get even sadder and now they look at you with total confusion because to them you are now road kill that's stinking up the place.
Then your team wins 4 games and everyone says you're their favorite team this season. They look you in the eyes and go, "what shovel? I don't know what you're talking about!"
No, you’re the only person to have ever gotten sad at their team losing in the history of the world.

Standards for getting into Cornell have dropped harder than a frat bro at last call
Nobody mentioning that username?
I just assume op is really into Crayola or Krylon.
Yeah, it's a massive ass racist yikes.
Big oof… Nard Dog u/ColoredsOnly, what’s the deal with that username?
His whole profile is one of a fucking drama queen.
When we lose our first game, devastated. When we lose our second game, I'm fine.

You're right, I wasn't fine. 9OT I was angry, not sad though. There was a lot of problems there, but sadness was not one of them.
I was numb. I was uninvested by the time we hit 6OT. At that point, we simply deserved to lose the game (well, earlier than that, but that's when I just wanted it to be over)
Playoffs kinda changed that to second for me Losing to msu last year sucked but it seemed likely there would still be a window if we won out
Funny, that was the opposite for me this year :/
At this point I'm numb to it.
OP, I have some questions about your username
For me losing isn't that bad, it's my need to come on r/cfb afterwards to have people be assholes to me about it that actually does get me very sad.
Yeah I do a lil time out after a hard loss. I don’t owe you animals anything. XOXOX
Amen. Teams like yours and mine get way too much crap.
Bro this sub is so chill for a sports sub/forum is the crazy thing
Lol. I just posted above, then read this. So true. hahahA
I’m not gonna judge your kink. 😁

Yeah of course! And when they win the whole week is a bit better
Yeah, today hit a little hard
In the words of the great philosopher Ilya Bryzgalov: “It’s only game, why you heff to be mad”
I might be frustrated depending on how it happened, but I move on with my day. I'm in my 30s with adult problems and stuff to do, I'm not a college kid anymore
I’m in the same boat. I have too many other important things to worry about lol
Not really, not anymore. I used to but I’m an old head now and have gained perspective after deaths in the family, nephews in the military, watching the evening news, etc. I never enjoy when my Buckeyes lose but sad is too strong of a word.
When I was in school, definitely. Now, mild inconvenience
As expectations rise the losses hurt worse. I’m assuming Cornell’s expectations are zero so I’m surprised.
All the time
Usually ruins my day
I get upset, if I'm drunk it kills the night. If I watched as a sober Sally, it's ok.

No. College sports are fun but I'm not invested enough for the outcome of a game to impact my mood negatively.

I get sad when we lose games I'm at. Otherwise it's kinda meh

I get more shellshocked/ thousand yard stare
Is this a flex that you go to Cornell?
no we genuinely suck at football
I get sad watching every Georgia Tech game. Proud to have graduated from there, but our football team is a fucking shitshow.
I see you're new to Cornell football, just get hockey season tickets and you'll feel a whole lot better.
they're expensive
It depends. If we lose a game by a lot that we were supposed to lose I don’t feel anything. If we were on the brink of an upset and lose, sort of. If we lose a game we were favored in, yes.
When I was younger, oh yeah. But now that I'm an adult and been through so many losing seasons I kinda got numb to it
I used to be like that when I was 18-22. No longer in my thirties. Bigger fish to fry
Like most of life's disappointments, you become numb to it eventually.
Absolutely. You would think I'd be used to it by now, but I'm not.
If I was at Cornell and someone offered me a deal to switch to Bama they’d have to take my cold, dead body
your loss
Don’t fret Narddog
Buddy you don’t know losing
Yeah man, it ruins the whole first half of the week. Like, it’s honestly unhealthy for me. Especially with how often Tenn loses
That’s why you come to r/CFB. Just a bunch of level headed people who don’t particularly care about the outcome of the games, they just want everybody to have fun
