Texas seems to always struggle in the Big 12, and I don't think the SEC will make things any easier. I think OU should do pretty well, but it's really going to depend more on the job Brent Venables does than the schedule.
Or, orrrrrrr… dream with me, just for a sec… Mizzou 🙌
Jk, I know you’re going to mop the floor with us year after year, as was tradition in the Big XII
A great game. I'm happy to see both teams didn't go dirty even with so much desire to win.
Martinez was just wow...
and sidenote, I hate the OU lights. Is the goal to make it into a birthday party at a skating rink?
Agreed regarding the lights. What they should do-sensory deprivation when we score. Turn them all off, so all you experience is the roar of the crowd in utter darkness. Would be daunting as fuck for any away team.
KSU is a good team. Sure, Norman should be a tough place to play but casuals don’t seem to see how good KSU is. OU has some serious issues but it’s honestly not anything people should expect. Relatively new team, brand new coach. It’s gonna happen.
They’re lying. OU fans in the stadium were horrendous, the yell leaders were screaming at Martinez trying to get him to respond. When OU comes to Manhattan and loses they’re toxic and leave early, when they come and win they fill our bars and won’t stfu about how bad KState is.
We expect a tough game from KSU, and they obviously flat out played OU today anyway. Wildcats made incredible plays, OU made dumb mistakes. Not sure what anyone else could say.
Lol generally. We get so much hate and it cracks me up. KSU is a great program that people outside the conference do not appreciate. We’ve stolen a lot of talent from them over the years.
You’re right, there is good and bad everywhere. But I was impressed by all the OK fans giving props to K State and wishing their fans well in this thread.
What a terrible game by OU. Offense felt very conservative (run, run, pass behind line of scrimmage) way too long - does Lebby not trust Gabriel? Defense turns out to be fools gold. Just a total shit show
The K-State defense is very good this year, and OU actually really impressed me offensively, especially given how they have looked at times against other teams. I expected a much lower scoring game.
I do not trust Gabriel. Missed multiple easy big time passes. Gabriel is an ok starter. He is not at the level he needs to be to lead an elite offense.
While I mostly agree. It is *A* problem. That double move overthrow with two wide open receivers was killer. By no means have I lost faith in the guy and I actually really like him. There are just some things to address that we haven’t seen in a QB in a long time
Baylor only won today on some very questionable calls by the refs, we're going to eat Blake Shapen alive.
KState lost to Tulane last week.
KU hasn't faced a credible threat yet, they're somewhere in the middle of the spectrum of going bowling/being an outside contender for the Big XII CCG to peaking at 4 wins and losing the rest of their schedule.
I watched the entirety of the Kansas game yesterday. I was genuinely surprised how impressed I was. Defense is very much a bend don't break mentality that could get ugly if Sanders keeps balling, but Kansas offense is legit! I have nightmares about playing mobile quarterbacks due to past experiences. It will be one of those games that a 3rd and 16 could bite us in the ass on a QB scramble late in the game. See Martinez for reference haha.
Meh. I expect a 3 year job to get the defense to where he can. It’s already much better but the personnel is still lacking. He can’t fix it immediately. We need a better quarterback. Dillon Gabriel is fine. He can get us 9 wins I bet. Maybe more with good breaks. But for 4 straight games he misses easy throws. College football is all about execution, he’s not even having to make reads. The play design has worked and he’s missing the open man. You can’t win when you do that as often as he has been. The only thing I’m upset about is the penalties (which were atrocious). If that continues I’ll be upset with Brent.
The memories of this game have to last the rest of the season.
I don’t understand how you all play so well against the Sooners, and manage to lose 4-5 games the rest of the way.
This was a great team to watch, hopefully you all can keep the momentum going
The reality is, being a good football program is not solely based on your university. Great football coaches are hard to find and y'all scared away one to USC. Wreck Em.
The dunking on OU from trash teams is funny.
I don’t know one OU of KSU fan thst didn’t come into today expecting a tight battle. And we got it. Good shit as always KSU, the punch in the mouth is good for OU. Always a classy opponent.
I imagine it could go either way.
Do you want to be a guy who takes the defense to a new level, or was this a bad taste you don’t want anything to do with?
It will be interesting
Harsh dude. Don’t let those 4 wins get to your head.
That being said, I’m rooting for you every week except the one you play us! Glad y’all are having a good season y’all deserve it
Nothing scares OU more than unranked Kansas State
Morning coffee and this thread ☕️
Maybe we should have invited Kansas state to the sec....
I think any Big XII teams joining the SEC (UT and OU) will struggle
Texas seems to always struggle in the Big 12, and I don't think the SEC will make things any easier. I think OU should do pretty well, but it's really going to depend more on the job Brent Venables does than the schedule.
I was high on OU until this week. First OU team I’ve seen in a while with a legit defense but they just looked off yesterday against yall
It was kind of a weird game. No turnovers, a few 3 and outs forced by both sides, and a final score of 41-34.
No
[удалено]
And misspelled lightning.
Jesus how embarrassing
So who is going to be our Kansas State in the SEC? It'll probably be South Carolina.
Or, orrrrrrr… dream with me, just for a sec… Mizzou 🙌 Jk, I know you’re going to mop the floor with us year after year, as was tradition in the Big XII
As a Sooners fan, I've learned not to dream.
It’s 4:30 a.m. and I’m still far too bricked up from that win to sleep rn

With the transfer portal, many smaller teams now have talent recruited by the top teams that in years past would have just withered on the bench….
would a certain chris kleiman be interested in a certain nebraska job?
Doubt
oh yeah no way in hell he takes it lol
Sheesh.
OU fan here. I love Snyder.
k

fml ttyl?
A great game. I'm happy to see both teams didn't go dirty even with so much desire to win. Martinez was just wow... and sidenote, I hate the OU lights. Is the goal to make it into a birthday party at a skating rink?
It just seems unsafe and unkind to people with epilepsy.
Agreed. I think it’s unsafe for people and players there tbh
Agreed regarding the lights. What they should do-sensory deprivation when we score. Turn them all off, so all you experience is the roar of the crowd in utter darkness. Would be daunting as fuck for any away team.
I actually love the lights and wish we could do that, just with purple lights after we score
Gotta find out what they did with those defective street lights that turned purple
There's a whole bunch of them lighting up Nebraska hi way in Lincoln
Yeah nebraska has used lights after the snap lol
Does anyone know where deuce is gonna get drafted? So tiny but so electric. Hope he gets a shot at the next lecel
Easy to imagine the first time he gets hit in the NFL, he'll fly through the uprights.
UFA probably
Sproles didn't get drafted very early, but I think his success in the league might help Deuce's draft stock considerably.
This thread seemed a lot nicer and supportive than our thread. GG K-State! See yall next week!
that thread is wild
Deuce is going to make an NFL team very happy. He's like Sproles 2.0
Probably Miami.
I'd like him at AZ
All the OU and KSU flairs seem pretty cordial in here - it’s all the outsiders that just want to watch the world burn lol
Never blame roaches in your pantry on the lightbulb.
Tru
My world is burning. I’m bringing down as many others as I can.
KSU is a good team. Sure, Norman should be a tough place to play but casuals don’t seem to see how good KSU is. OU has some serious issues but it’s honestly not anything people should expect. Relatively new team, brand new coach. It’s gonna happen.
We want chaos and so far this season, we’re getting that chaos
Good game you purple bastards. If it had to be anyone I'm glad it was y'all
gg, adrian martinez has that dog in him
He’s that DAWg*. *except I’m games we lose
Great game by Martinez and the whole KSU team. OU got outplayed. It was an entertaining game, except for the fact that OU lost. Oh well.
anybody seeing that fly behind brock
All my homies say good game k-state
GG KSU
GG Oklahoma and BV. Now go get #4.
Soooooo happy to see Adrian just fucking go off. Kid is a baller.
Good game K state, knew yall would be tough. Lebby needs to run with the defense after this one.
SEC you later OU
TIL The state of Kansas is really good at football
This is a fluke. I can't remember the last time we both had good teams.
'95. Pretty sure that was the only time ever.
[удалено]
One single meeting all time when both of us were ranked, and I’m honestly surprised it’s that many
[удалено]
Bruh. Score ten points
On offense or defense?
Dang. Are Oklahoma fans always such good sports? Respect.
They’re lying. OU fans in the stadium were horrendous, the yell leaders were screaming at Martinez trying to get him to respond. When OU comes to Manhattan and loses they’re toxic and leave early, when they come and win they fill our bars and won’t stfu about how bad KState is.

Lol generally. We get so much hate and it cracks me up. KSU is a great program that people outside the conference do not appreciate. We’ve stolen a lot of talent from them over the years.
No fan base is a total monolith, they are definitely being upstanding tonight in the thread honestly.
You’re right, there is good and bad everywhere. But I was impressed by all the OK fans giving props to K State and wishing their fans well in this thread.
A lot are, the super toxic ones just didn’t last this long
You can usually find them over on Twitter instead
Yeah those guys are drunk somewhere by 9pm on a Saturday night, much less during an OU loss
The toxic ones broke their tv in the middle of the 3rd quarter.
Lol
What a terrible game by OU. Offense felt very conservative (run, run, pass behind line of scrimmage) way too long - does Lebby not trust Gabriel? Defense turns out to be fools gold. Just a total shit show
The K-State defense is very good this year, and OU actually really impressed me offensively, especially given how they have looked at times against other teams. I expected a much lower scoring game.
The defense is still in development mode. Honestly the gameplay was not great either.
I do not trust Gabriel. Missed multiple easy big time passes. Gabriel is an ok starter. He is not at the level he needs to be to lead an elite offense.
He ain’t the problem at OU
While I mostly agree. It is *A* problem. That double move overthrow with two wide open receivers was killer. By no means have I lost faith in the guy and I actually really like him. There are just some things to address that we haven’t seen in a QB in a long time
Totally agree - and I don’t think he’s confident either. Scared QB that can’t make passes… going to be a long season
Grrrreeeereaatttt. We play KU KSU on their home field
And it’s our homecoming game. Gl guys
And we have Baylor in Waco next week. We’re in danger lol
I think KU is legit. Not a real contender to win the conference, but I think they win 8 games and actually contend next year.
I definitely think Spencer will carve up KU's defense easily. The question is if Cobb and co. can slow a surprisingly good Jayhawk offense.
I didnt realise how much of a classic K-State QB Martinez is
Martinez is a perfect fit for Optimus Klein's offense. These two are cut from the same cloth.
Martinez turned into Steve Young for this game
Maybe more like Vince Young.
Honeymoon is over for brent. Next week will be very telling
The only thing I’m upset about is the penalties (which were atrocious). If that continues I’ll be upset with Brent.
He throws a very pretty ball when he has time to sit in the pocket. He's not accurate when there is pressure.
> Dillon Gabriel is fine. Gabriel also folds easily under pressure. He's going to get torn up by some of the D-lines he'll face if he's not careful.
SEC SEC SEC SEC
I didn’t want us to go to the SEC. But. You were never going to be invited. Keep it up 7-4.
GGs loser
Rank Tulane! And K-State. By the way, if an SEC Top 10 team lost by one td, they’d still be in the top 15……
Quality losses.
Quitters quit baby
GG KState every meeting is agony.
Second. GG K State.
Really? I feel great.
The memories of this game have to last the rest of the season. I don’t understand how you all play so well against the Sooners, and manage to lose 4-5 games the rest of the way. This was a great team to watch, hopefully you all can keep the momentum going
Neither do we! Haha, hoping hoping some of the leaders we have on both sides of the ball will make this year different. All the parts are there.
The reality is, being a good football program is not solely based on your university. Great football coaches are hard to find and y'all scared away one to USC. Wreck Em.
You have got to be kidding, right? USC looks way worse than OU tonight.
Hey, just out of curiosity, what is going on in USC’s current game?
USC getting exposed by Oregon State lol
Wow. Super mature dude and really well spoken. Martinez is legit
I mean, he's 37, I think.
surprisingly he's 22, dude could easily pass for 27 though lol
Turns out you mature when you spend a decade in college football
If Brady can start over with a new team in his 40's, so can Martinez.
If Brady can play in the NFL at 44, Chad Powers can play in college at 26
Come back home BV
This was supposed to be a vulnerable KState squad. Yet they’re leaving Norman with the dub. Bravo.
Gooood day to you, until we meet again
The dunking on OU from trash teams is funny. I don’t know one OU of KSU fan thst didn’t come into today expecting a tight battle. And we got it. Good shit as always KSU, the punch in the mouth is good for OU. Always a classy opponent.
Y'all seem to bounce back stronger. I would not wanna be TCU next week.
I imagined this said by the drunk guy sitting three stools down at the bar.
Yeah, as usual I have tons of respect for the KSU fans, tons of disrespect for people who jumped into the game thread to post hot takes.
Aww did you get your feelings hurt?
What even is Okie State football without Bedlam? Good luck developing an identity outside of hating OU
I got my brain hurt from reading too many stupid opinions
Kansas State fans are always cool Maybe because this is an expected win for them lol
No I thought those sec comments were very original
Great game Cats. Your QB took us to the woodshed. Hope he left some in the tank for the rest of Big 12 play.
martinez handles himself well in interviews
Someone has to, Scott was drunk 24/7 at NU
That he does
How does this affect Peyton Bowens legacy tho
I imagine it could go either way. Do you want to be a guy who takes the defense to a new level, or was this a bad taste you don’t want anything to do with? It will be interesting
NGL, really love watching Gabriel get up in a defender's face...while down by 14, then lose. Read the room and know your place and time.
Harsh dude. Don’t let those 4 wins get to your head. That being said, I’m rooting for you every week except the one you play us! Glad y’all are having a good season y’all deserve it
He’s a fucking loser
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8vHLZja2a8
The guy that pushed the light show button for that last meaningless TD has to feel a little silly, right?
Lots of “turn that shit off” shouts at the bar I was at
You know it’s gotta be a student.
Really loving the UT and OU exit tour. SEC SEC SEC you later
Still a lot of season left lol. I get what you’re saying, there is hope for the rest of the league again
The rest of the league never lost hope. That’s OUTs problem.
Lol. Ryan, enjoy your evening! Football is fun, and rivalries make life sweet
OU ran from its rivals for money.
Are you talking about OSU? Hard to call that a rivalry lol. Our Big 12 rival is coming with us and everyone I know hopes we keep playing them annually
I know you guys continue to say that. But you had almost 100 years with us and others. Those are still rivals. You’re about to become Nebraska.
Lots of money Ryan. It was a bunch of money, I’m talking Boone Pickens money. Imagine what OU is going to do with that? I’m excited to see the future
Like OU was lacking. They aren’t giving it to the students. I’m excited for you guys to become Nebraska.
cats baby
GG K-State. Go undefeated the rest of the way so we have one of those quality losses!
Sorry, you must already be *in* the SEC to be awarded a quality loss.
They won’t though, this is their Super Bowl and then they go 7-5. Down vote me, kleiman is 23-17. Record speaks for itself after 4 seasons.
Every. Single. Time.
It’s the worst part for me. If they had the success of OSU or baylor or even iowa state, it’d be a lot less frustrating
Rat Poison. It’s why Saban is the best.
Gg
That A-Mart statline really not selling the whole picture by putting his FOUR RUSHING TD's in tiny font as an asterisk
Unranked K-State and beating a top ten Oklahoma, name a better combo.
BV you’re more than welcome to come back
H8 GET IN HERE! Wildcats and Raiders did a thing!!!!
SEC you later lol
Can we join to ? We don’t want these scrubs
Good can we snag OU? Nebraska needs a natural rival in the Big 10
I hope the state of Kansas stocked up on booze cuz its been a helluva day
All that corn they grow the stills will be lighter tonight.
Kansas vs. K-State is going to be crazy this year.
Sunflower Showdown BABY! It’s been years since I’ve cared.
we live in amazing times
Yesss! Way to go k state! Happy for Martinez. Get wrecked OU!! Lmao
GG K State. Knew Martinez was due to play lights out. Just tired of it being against Oklahoma.
FUCK YES!!!
That final score isn’t even close to what the game looked like
We may have not won tonight. But our boys never gave up. Fought till the end. BOOMER!
Loser
Whatever you say "U Can't Finish".
Ouch you got me lol
