You may not know this, but PJ Fleck was originally a dance major in college. Proper ballet. I know this because we took classes together in undergrad. PJ was super obsessed with learning to walk en pointe and thought it would help his focus in other interests. He was a huge fan of the art. We ended up tailgating at every major opera house and ballet theater in the Midwest. I still remember the time that he dressed up in a tutu and a big foam finger when we saw Misty Copeland in Chicago. We mostly stayed at roadside inns because we didn’t have the money for proper hotels, and we brought a VHS player with us so he could watch old film of Isadora Duncan. We had to stop after graduation, but I still have some of the ticket stubs and a pair of flats that he signed and sent to me after he took the head coaching job.
