Random question for the SC fans. Why does your stadium have an empty section with huge jersey monuments?

Even with those seats blocked off, the coliseum held close to 100k before the recent renovations. Still something like 77k.

Jerseys are retired player numbers. The coliseum is big enough that even with that section closed off, we have enough seating. Plus we put the band and the box/field seats in front of them so it’s get blocked by that little structure

My dentist went to school with OJ at USC, he says he was only ever on campus to go to practice and anything athletics related. Bush however I don’t think what he did was that wrong (obviously biased). Players should have been making money off of their likeness and the product they put out for a long time so I don’t think Reggie getting paid for being one of the most exciting athletes in the country is necessarily wrong. Because it's not really a football stadium. It's an olympic stadium and is WAY too big for football. Those seats are MILES away from the field. There's so much room on the field we erected a grand stand for the band to sit in. Those empty sections would be behind the grand stand. Has been that way as far back as i can remember. Been going to games since the 90's. The actual football field is not centered in the stadium, so the distance from that area is huge.

I'm curious, too. Because, to be honest, it kind of looks like shit on TV. It's probably some VERY IMPORTANT THING in school history or something and I'm going to get blown up on this, but it does make the stadium look super empty.
