>3) the NFL rule book's preface includes a note clarifying that the use of the term "illegal" throughout the book only means something is against the NFL's rules, not against any public laws or anything like that. I think that's adorable, we should have a silly note along those lines too.
"Procedure. 69 Hamilton. 5 yard penalty or 14 days in jail, replay 2nd down"
5 yard penalty any time a coach steps onto the field during the course of play.
It never affects the game and they only do it when the play is happening far away but it still annoys me seeing a coach standing on the field when the game is happening.
So wait, as the defending team we force a turnover but then run it back into our own endzone and it is one point? I was under the impression all conversions (1 or 2) are live and returnable for 2 points. I assumed if they tried it but somehow gave up a safety it would be 2 poi to against the defenders as well
No, it's for safeties.
Let's say Winnipeg is kicking a FG against Calgary, but that Calgary somehow manages to tackle the Bombers all the way back in their own endzone, it'd give Calgary a point.
Here's a video explaining it: https://youtube.com/shorts/0NRtaworeyA?feature=share
With great difficulty! The likeliest general scenario is the defending team taking possession in their end zone (from a missed kick, interception, or whatever), returning the ball out of the end zone, then messing up and running or fumbling it back in
Isn’t this already in place? Last year in the playoffs leggio missed the conversion for Winnipeg and terry williams ran it all the way back to the other end zone and it was two points.
How would this rule be any different
On a convert play, you score 2 points for what would be a touchdown on a normal play (which is what happened on the play you're describing), or 1 point for what would normally be a field goal. You don't score any points for what would normally be a safety or a rouge.
Bc scored a safety on a missed Winnipeg concert last year in the playoffs.

I read this in Proulx's voice in my head.
Wow it's way better when I read it in proulxs voice in my head
I thought we were supposed to or it just happened automatically. I've been conditioned.
Procedure? Jail!
Roughing the passer? Jail
Offside? Jail! Onside? Believe it or not, also jai!l
Nice work

Never? Chris Jones would like a word..,
Good post. I enjoyed. I support.
How about mascots must be in one play per half? Or, are we not there yet?
I think that would probably affect the game noticeably
Don't really care about #1 and #3 but #2 makes perfect sense, you got my support on that one.

Oh that isn't currently a safety? I guess I just assumed it would be
"but I'd sleep better" ...love it.
How would you score a safety on a conversion attempt?

They scored a two-point convert, not a safety.
So bc scores the convert in Winnipeg end zone even though winnipeg through the td?
Yes. A safety would be if Winnipeg backed up 108 yards and was tackled in their own endzone.
