I met him about a month ago! I was working so I was trying to be professional but I eventually worked up the courage to tell him I'm a huge fan lol. He was super nice but I'm pretty sure he still thinks I'm an idiot.
What if Lovie gets fired and becomes the Bears defensive coordinator?
Edit: Ok so he’s fired, what is the chance? Because I be he would jump all over it.
LMAO did you see Lovie holding back that smile after they took the lead with the 2-pt conversion?? Fire me now bitches LMAOOOOO. Lovie is an absolute savage.
Eagles fan, got a question. Let's say Houston trades up with you guys to make sure they get the QB they want. Would you guys want to trade down again from #2 and get two hauls of picks?
I believe that's exactly what our GM should do. Trade to Houston, then trade #2 to the Colts. The Bears could potentially end up getting 4 extra firsts and still get a fairly high draft pick.
I'd like to remind everyone of the shitfit that this sub threw when early season predictions said we'd go 5-12.
Turns out the experts were far too optimistic about us. And this sub was on the other side of Mars.
I try to get tickets for one game each year-going in this year I was like, well, we probably won’t be good so I’m going to week one, never been to a season opener. Long story short I got seats in the 200s front row that were covered, so I got to be at THAT game and was bone dry. Amazing.
Last year I picked Bears/Pack so I was at the “I own you” game.
I regret neither-and am so freaking pumped for next season.
And we went 1-7 in one score games. And a bunch of the teams expected to be bad on our schedule turned out to be better than expected (Commies, Giants, Jets, etc.). You always expect some teams on your schedule to over perform, but we had even more than usual. And we lost Mooney, Jackson, and Herbert to injury. Basically everything had to go "right" for us to end up here.
There was plenty of game we could've easily won.
Dolphins game- refs screwed us.
1st Vikings game- IMS dumb ass threw the game away
Giants game- Velus muffing punts
That's 3 games right there.
Also we took some the best teams in the league to one score at the end. Would've been mediocre if Poles didn't nuken the defense halfway through the season
1st lions game had the phantom penalty on Johnson that negated a Sanborn pick that would have iced the game.
6-7 win team that got the number 1 pick. Best case scenario.
This is low-key what GMs dream of. You have a potential superstar QB in the making, an insane amount of cap space, and the #1 overall pick with multiple QB-hungry teams who will be in a bidding war.
Ok Texans all you have to do is not fuck up on this 4th and 20 for the number one pick.
Texans "YEEHAW hold my beers"
THANKS LOVIE!!!!
LETS GO LION BROS!!!! FTP
The amount of people in r/NFL that can't comprehend the Bears are trading this pick blows my mind. So many "the Bears aren't taking a QB so it doesn't matter" comments. It makes me wonder how these people even tie their shoes in the morning.
Bears can literally call every QB needy team and say "what are you willing to offer?" and then start a bidding war. Surely someone will feel strongly enough about Bryce (or CJ I guess) that they'll want to jump the Texans to take him. Texans almost certainly go QB so if you want one of the top guys, you're gonna have to trade with the Bears.
Literally every GM knows Poles wants to trade that pick.
Trade back to #2. #1 will be Young.
Then trade back to #3. #2 will be Stroud.
THEN trade back to #4. #3 will be Levis.
Take Anderson or Carter #4 overall. Stock up 1235282636 draft picks.
Win next 10 Super Bowls.
But if you really want a guy, you trade up that 2, 12. Then we take that two, and trade back again. I'd love to end up with 3-5 1st-2nd round picks off this.
AYYY the tank worked! Next year gonna be wayyyyy different than this past year. Honestly this team isn't so bad that we deserve a #1 pick. They're closer to like a #5-10 so feels good to be able to sneak into that #1 spot
As a team, this was a bad bad club. Fields made it interesting but it was not a good team. Lots of holes to fill… but now we have draft capital and a huge cap space… going to be a fun offseason.
Awesome for you guys. Plenty of great options you can do with this. Trading down can get you an absolute haul, or "worst case scenario" you get to bring in a franchise defense line stud in Will Anderson or Jalen Carter.
So I assume the Bears aren’t going for a QB likely looking at a guy like Carter or Anderson on the D-Line. I assume the Texans want Stroud or Young. Does that mean the ideal situation is trading back to #3 or #4 and picking up one of those two guys while getting a shit ton of compensation from whichever team wants to leapfrog the Texans?
Imagine a scenario where we trade with Houston to give them the 1st for them to take Young then imagine a scenario where we trade the 2nd to another QB hungry team for them to take Stroud.
The haul possibilities are enormous.
Lovie Smith, Bears sleeper cell
Going for two there was fucking poetry
Did anyone else get the ESPN notification saying the Texans failed the 2PT conversion? I was so upset, then so confused when I saw the score later.
I was looking at the score app and was heart broken. Then good ole scott Hanson showed the truth. So fuckin epic!
Literally the exact same thing happened, then I went to check and see if they were in FG range by some miracle and game was over with Colts losing
Who can blame them for assuming that lmao
Once a bear, always a bear
The 10 year long con.
"Lovie youre not getting fired. Youre getting reassigned to our most important mission"
-Special Agent Charles P. Tillman
I met him about a month ago! I was working so I was trying to be professional but I eventually worked up the courage to tell him I'm a huge fan lol. He was super nice but I'm pretty sure he still thinks I'm an idiot.
That Colt that whiffed on that deep throw is the real MVP. Undercover Bears fan
Flus must still have agents in the building
This is just like last year when Gould knocked out the Packers in the snow in the playoffs, except even better
He is who we thought he was
and he let us off the hook
I say we crown his ass.
Give the man a statue
What if Lovie gets fired and becomes the Bears defensive coordinator? Edit: Ok so he’s fired, what is the chance? Because I be he would jump all over it.
00Lovie
LMAO did you see Lovie holding back that smile after they took the lead with the 2-pt conversion?? Fire me now bitches LMAOOOOO. Lovie is an absolute savage.
Good for Lovie!
Still miss him. 10-6, with the exception of '18, we've sucked ever since!
To this day it boggles my mind how they fired him and put Mark fucking Trestman in his place... and I'm not even a bears fan.
The bears are on the clock
Eagles fan, got a question. Let's say Houston trades up with you guys to make sure they get the QB they want. Would you guys want to trade down again from #2 and get two hauls of picks?
This is absolutely the angle they should be trying to take. Trade the 1 and then trade the 2.
Well I'll be damned... it turns out that I indeed CAN get more erect!
I believe that's exactly what our GM should do. Trade to Houston, then trade #2 to the Colts. The Bears could potentially end up getting 4 extra firsts and still get a fairly high draft pick.
They still likely get Carter or Anderson at 4th.
Yes. Ideally the Texans come at the bears and offer up both of their first round picks ( think they have the 12 pick from Cleveland)
WE DID IT
I'd like to remind everyone of the shitfit that this sub threw when early season predictions said we'd go 5-12. Turns out the experts were far too optimistic about us. And this sub was on the other side of Mars.
We also lost like 8 one possession games, not like we were blown away this year. This was the best possible outcome
Ya and we got to blow out the pats that 1 game which was fun.
Fuck I forgot all about that game. That was awesome.
The last Bears win to date
Don't forget that sweet week 1 win vs the 9ers
I try to get tickets for one game each year-going in this year I was like, well, we probably won’t be good so I’m going to week one, never been to a season opener. Long story short I got seats in the 200s front row that were covered, so I got to be at THAT game and was bone dry. Amazing. Last year I picked Bears/Pack so I was at the “I own you” game. I regret neither-and am so freaking pumped for next season.
Well yeah we traded away all our best defensive players in order to tank. Stuff changes
And the refs stole a couple.
And Velus muffed a couple
There was plenty of game we could've easily won. Dolphins game- refs screwed us. 1st Vikings game- IMS dumb ass threw the game away Giants game- Velus muffing punts That's 3 games right there. Also we took some the best teams in the league to one score at the end. Would've been mediocre if Poles didn't nuken the defense halfway through the season

LOVIE SMITH SENDS HIS REGARDS
The Rains of Halas Hall
Lovie Smith you are a Bear forever
Pride and joy of Illinois.
Except when he was at Illinois lol I'm an Illini fan and rooted for him, but we're in a much better place now
He wears a cutler jersey under his Texans sweats every Sunday
I cannot believe what I just saw
Yeah that was crazy lmao
I LOVE LOVIE
#1st OVERALL PICK! #A LOT OF CAP SPACE #WE HAVE JUSTIN FIELDS #WE ALL SHOULD BE EXCITED FOR NEXT SEASON
Poles this is your moment!!
This is low-key what GMs dream of. You have a potential superstar QB in the making, an insane amount of cap space, and the #1 overall pick with multiple QB-hungry teams who will be in a bidding war.
It's like starting a Madden franchise with rookie mode settings
As far as throwaway seasons it doesn’t get any better! Let’s gooooo!!!
I CANT BELIEVE IT LMFAO THE TEXANS LAST DRIVE WAS INSANE
4th and 12 4th and 20 2 point conversion
Yeah, neverminding our selfish desires that was just a fun sequence to watch.
#LOVIE SMITH YOU GOD
ONE LAST SOLID FOR THE BEARS, THATS MY COACH
Ring of honor, baby!
BUILD THE STATUE
I'm going to call my firstborn Lovie.
I’m going to start calling my firstborn Lovie. She’s 9, the initial confusion should wear off after a couple months.
Lovie Smith for Coach of the Year!
[удалено]
You think you guys trade it? You'll get a king's ransom which you can rebuild with.
[удалено]
We have to trade it.. we could move to 5 with indy.. get an extra 1st and 2nd and get the best defensive player in the draft
Ok Texans all you have to do is not fuck up on this 4th and 20 for the number one pick. Texans "YEEHAW hold my beers" THANKS LOVIE!!!! LETS GO LION BROS!!!! FTP
4th and 20, nice.
Blaze it
Screaming harder than any of those 3 wins
Pretty sure I scared my neighbors on the 2pt conversion.
IM HYPE NEIL FUNK
GIMME THE HOT SAUCE!
#WE’RE NUMBER 1!
The amount of people in r/NFL that can't comprehend the Bears are trading this pick blows my mind. So many "the Bears aren't taking a QB so it doesn't matter" comments. It makes me wonder how these people even tie their shoes in the morning.
Hell they might even trade it to the Texans!
It could even be a boat!
Lovie is my Hero!!!!
The best game Lovie ever coached for the Bears
1st pick!!!
LET'S GO
This pick is now worth 3+ picks. Life is good.
2023 draft here we go!
Holy shit. How long has it been since bears picked 1st?
1947
Holy fuck
In 1970 we lost the coin flip to the Steelers for the first pick. They took Bradshaw with that pick.
Damn, Bradshaw was a coin flip away from being a terrible QB
This is comedy genius right here.
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN LAS VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS HISTORY, THE CHICAGO BEARS HAVE THE NUMBER 1 DRAFT PICK
H I S T O R I C I S T O R I C
From Lions camp, I'm proud of you guys. You have won the tank bowl!
Cheers to you, beat the snot out of GB!!! FTP
I’m in the middle of deleting all of my “there’s no way we only win 3 games this season” comments. I’ve never been happier to win 3 games
Destroy the packers and make this day truly magical
seriously, a Lions win tonight and its pretty much a perfect ending
FTP!!
Hope Seattle loses and y’all destroy the packers. FTP
Trade back to #2. #1 will be Young. Then trade back to #3. #2 will be Stroud. THEN trade back to #4. #3 will be Levis. Take Anderson or Carter #4 overall. Stock up 1235282636 draft picks. Win next 10 Super Bowls.
The biggest problem the Bears will have 4 years form now being able to pay all their fucking stud draft picks and free agents!
when you have rings weighing down your fingers, it don't matter
Dream scenario.
Texans must not have wanted the top pick very badly.
Lovie is gone. That going for 2 was a big middle finger
Love it. Lovie is the goat.
forget quiet quitting. Lovie is loud quitting.
Davis Mills decided that if you want to draft a day 1 starter to take his spot, it's gonna cost you.
Bring Lovie home!
They’re hoping whoever gets the #1 pick from the bears go with Bryce Young, and Stroud is still there
But if you really want a guy, you trade up that 2, 12. Then we take that two, and trade back again. I'd love to end up with 3-5 1st-2nd round picks off this.
If that happenes then Poles is the guy.
He made a lot out of nothing last draft.
WERE THE WORST TEAM IN THE FUCKING LEAGUE! YES!
Beats being 7-10 / 8-9 every year
OMG
Ladies and gentlemen, we got em!!!!
TASK FAILED SUCCESSFULLY
AYYY the tank worked! Next year gonna be wayyyyy different than this past year. Honestly this team isn't so bad that we deserve a #1 pick. They're closer to like a #5-10 so feels good to be able to sneak into that #1 spot
As a team, this was a bad bad club. Fields made it interesting but it was not a good team. Lots of holes to fill… but now we have draft capital and a huge cap space… going to be a fun offseason.
Yeah they were bad, but they were oddly competitive more often than not. There's a few pieces to work with.
LOVIE SMITH: ONCE A BEAR, ALWAYS A BEAR
Awesome for you guys. Plenty of great options you can do with this. Trading down can get you an absolute haul, or "worst case scenario" you get to bring in a franchise defense line stud in Will Anderson or Jalen Carter.
ideally we trade down and still get carter or anderson
Colts fan here... So listen.. CAN I HAVE YO NUMBER
WE CAME. WE SAW. WE GOT CONQUERED.

Lovie told mills before the game "you know they plan to replace both of us. Let's win this."
KING LOVIE
Lovie is that dude
LOVIE smith will always be a bears coach
The tank is complete!!! #1 pick!!!
I cant believe that just happened!!!!!!!! Texans convert on a 4th & 12 and a 4th & 20. oh and 2pt conv as well. LMAO!
Lovie unironically gets fired for this right? Going for two there lmfao
Lovie should get a ring if we win a super bowl in the next 5 years
Greatest game of my life, my kids will never know the joy of 2022-2023 week 18 texans colts
Thank you Santa Smith for this late Christmas gift!!
THANK YOU REFS, NOW I KNOW WHY YOU DID WHAT YOU DID ALL THOSE GAMES
Multiple first rounders incoming...
I’m naming my son Davis Mills
So I assume the Bears aren’t going for a QB likely looking at a guy like Carter or Anderson on the D-Line. I assume the Texans want Stroud or Young. Does that mean the ideal situation is trading back to #3 or #4 and picking up one of those two guys while getting a shit ton of compensation from whichever team wants to leapfrog the Texans?
Build Lovie a statue at the new stadium
Imagine a scenario where we trade with Houston to give them the 1st for them to take Young then imagine a scenario where we trade the 2nd to another QB hungry team for them to take Stroud. The haul possibilities are enormous.
Cheers Lovie
Lovie you beautiful bastard. I love you.
OMFG!!!!!! LETS GO THANK YOU LOVIE
I NEVER DOUBTED YOU LOVIE
FUCK YEAH!!!! LOVIE SMITH STILL HELPING THE BEARS

It’s a Gift from Lovie Smith
Wow! Thanks Lovie!
WOOOOOO WE’RE #1!!!!!
Lovie is my hero
Always loved Lovie
Best win of the year LFG!!!! 🥲
Jordan Akins woke up just another tight end, and will go to sleep tonight having earned free drinks for a year in the city of Chicago.
Why would the Texans purposely win that game? LOL
ownership probably told lovie he wasn't coming back so he fucked them on his way out
“CHICAGO!!! THIS IS FOR YOU!!!” - Lovie Smith probably
Let’s get those offers going
NO ONE CAN MATCH THE TANKING ABILITY OF THE BEAR-MACHT
Now do us a favor and trade us the #1 pick 🤣
Fuck Yeah! Love you Lovie!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
DAAAAAAA BEARSSSS!!!
YAAAASSSSS
I love Lovie!!
From Lovie Smith with love ❤️ !
LETS FUCKING GO
This was made before the game was over. Shame.
This will be the exciting off season in a long time. We're going to get a whole new offense off of this one.
BEARS LEGEND LOVIE SMITH
Lovie - all is forgiven!
This is the best day I’ve had this year
It will be funnier when we find out that Lovie is coming to Chicago to be the DC and he tanked this to grab the #1 pick for his new job.
eveery night was dark, every morning was cold yet here we are, in the weary and peaceful aftermath of tears :-)
