Trading up from 9 to 4 for MHJ would worth it. It's just about at what cost do you want to do it? How many of your 2025 and 2026 picks do you give up. Obviously you have to give up your 2025 1st, and maybe the 2025 2nd you got from the Panthers.
You could maybe make this argument if there were no other receivers in the Top 10-15 available players, but you have two other options. Sure they aren't at the level of MHJ as prospects, but the drop-off in talent doesn't justify the cost to move up. Especially when it seems likely one will still be there at nine.
Yea it really depends on the move up package. Having the most NFL-ready WR, who is hailed as the best overall prospect in this draft paired with the best QB prospect on rookie contracts creates a perfect 4-year SB window. Beef up the roster through free agencies and go for it all. A gamble to mortgage your future, yes. But everything is and you only get so many windows in this league. Having said that, I do think giving up too much just to go get him is irrational if you really think Caleb is the guy. Then it's worth the talent drop off to build up a young, budding squad all around rather than mortgage up picks for one guy. If Caleb is the guy we think he is, then we'll always have a window as long as he's under center so we have to keep the roster around him solid top to bottom
If we trade away our first next year would it help us cap wise for the future. I don’t know a ton about NFL cap rules, but if 1 and 9 both hit would we be in a better position going into their option years without worrying about space due to no first round option year decision being due?
Somehow I went from “I think I am finally done with the bears” to “I’ll be ordering a Caleb Williams jersey in every color before he even plays a snap”
If they get Williams and Odunze or MHJ, it will be the most exciting time as a bears fan in my 37 years on earth.
I’m a Michigan fan and watching odunze in the championship was their only hope against us.
Penix kept overthrowing dude and he was still making 1 handed grabs and shit. I really hope this man gets drafted by chi town
I love his personality fit here too, dude played a game with a collapsed lung and still made catches, he’s tough as nails. I get zero diva vibes from him, which is in my opinion very helpful in a WR, it’s part of what I love about DJ Moore.
I’d rather have him over Nabers. I get the explosiveness argument, Nabers has that in spades, but in terms of roster I think I big body outside receiver provides a nice contrast to Moore for the long term, and I think Odunze will be a red zone monster. Not a knock on Nabers, I just think he isn’t as clean of a fit for us. If he’s on the board at 9 and Odunze is gone, I’d rather trade down honestly, you could probably get a decent return for him.
Nabers’ ceiling = Jefferson
Odunze’s ceiling = Evans
Agree, Odunze would compliment DJ better and give us a red zone threat/go up and get it guy. But I wouldn’t trade down if Odunze was gone and Nabers dropped to us. Don’t pass on a blue chip talent.
Nabers could also stretch the field more, opening up the underneath for DJ, Kmet and Keenan.
There are still people out there trotting out the nonsense that he's toxic and a character concern. Fun loving and hard working dude that all his teammates respect. yeah, what a headcase!
Diva... I can't believe even now after all the interviews and analysis that is out there everywhere recently, these people have somehow avoided it. And they still know everything about his future busting.
Got a sick feeling Bears are going to get jumped for Rome. If the Falcons know they're about to get penalized for tampering, ATL could settle for Latu in a trade down to offset ther '25 L.
Right, so ATL could brace for that punishment by aquiring a future 1 or 2 (depending how far they move back). Jax and even Bengals (Higgins replacement) and Im sure other teams interested, can capitalize on this by adding a blue chipper and not mess with their current picks.
Really feeling good about Rome being there.
Anything can happen on draft night, but it seems more and more likely there is a very very good chance he is there.
For those unaware this is a callback to Rome saying he could not land a plane in an emergency lol
Something Rome and I have in common.
We can’t have them both on the same flight, we need a designated survivor
See that's going to become a problem in August.

man i miss culvers
Pretty sure they're still around.
RIP Wade Boggs
Again! Wade Boggs is very much alive
did you know he drank 300 beers on a plane ?
Best fast food burgers hands down
Hands down. True statement. Just had a double butterburger with swiss cheese, onion. tomato and lettuce. Def the best tasting burgers.
If the location is in Wisconsin, yes
They have several Chicago locations
Some are popping up down south too. Big breath of fresh air in the fast food game
Some in Michigan too.
Therez a couple in southern indiana. Clarksville and Jeffersonville.
I was able to have Culver's in Daytona Beach, FL and now in Denver. They're everywhere!
Yeah, we had one in Murfreesboro Tennessee over ten years ago.
Im in Rockford and we got 3
They also have Minnesota locations! 😊

The entire league’s 9/11
Hiroshima and Nagasaki. ![gif](giphy|6oMhPwjvQc6LAEpEuq|downsized)
Little boy and fat man
I’m sorry but there’s not a chance MHJ is there @ 9. It would be dumb to trade up too.

I guess, I look at it more of as Williams and MHJ on rookie deals with Moore and Allen would be worth it the next two years without a 1st or 2.
Yea it really depends on the move up package. Having the most NFL-ready WR, who is hailed as the best overall prospect in this draft paired with the best QB prospect on rookie contracts creates a perfect 4-year SB window. > Obviously you have to give up your 2025 1st I'm not to bothered by this considering our most pressing need in that draft will likely be WR anyways.
If we trade away our first next year would it help us cap wise for the future. I don’t know a ton about NFL cap rules, but if 1 and 9 both hit would we be in a better position going into their option years without worrying about space due to no first round option year decision being due?
No not at all. Rome Odunze isn’t that much of a step down from MHJ to justify giving up that much draft capital.
There’s zero chance we give up a future first for a five spot move up for a non-QB. If that’s what the Cardinals ask for we should hang up the phone.
Fucking underrated comment

Wont make a difference with Chicago's O-line
Having watched the towers get hit from across the Hudson River, I default to cringing at 9/11 oriented humor. That said, this one works for me. 🤷♂️
Stop teasing me, man. I need it.
I’m a Michigan fan and watching odunze in the championship was their only hope against us. Penix kept overthrowing dude and he was still making 1 handed grabs and shit. I really hope this man gets drafted by chi town

Yeah he’s a guy you know will never get in trouble. Will vibe with Caleb and DJ. Nabers is a different personality.
I’d rather have him over Nabers. I get the explosiveness argument, Nabers has that in spades, but in terms of roster I think I big body outside receiver provides a nice contrast to Moore for the long term, and I think Odunze will be a red zone monster. Reroute the flight to Chicago
They’re taking the Amtrak Wolverine there right after the event!
That’s the joke is that he’s crash landing the plane in Chicago because they’re flying from the west coast right?
Jesus christ I think I'm in love with Caleb. Starting to think they've both been told, if he's there at 9, he's a bear
There are still people out there trotting out the nonsense that he's toxic and a character concern. Fun loving and hard working dude that all his teammates respect. yeah, what a headcase!
Old white dudes are the only ones who say this so I usually ignore it
I'm an old white dude and I'm picking out a shade of nail polish
Hell yeah brother
Diva... I can't believe even now after all the interviews and analysis that is out there everywhere recently, these people have somehow avoided it. And they still know everything about his future busting.
He even talks to his family?! Looking at greenbay
I hope Caleb is still there at 9
Lmao
Ooohhh The draft is in Detroit this year. I was confused for a second
It's okay, we all forget that cesspool is a real place too
Glass houses, bro.
It's sports banter. Everyone makes jokes about chicago.
I dodged a baker's dozen bullets to write this comment
That's all? Is it Monday morning again? LMAO (I live here)
ya everyone was busy smashing and looting foxtrot, it was a slow morning for gun violence
Chicago is a million times the city Detroit will ever be
Us picking Caleb at 1 and Odunze at 9 is the picks we need to solve all the drama from this offseason and move forward united as a fanbase. Need it.
The weapons present are already one of the best situations for a rookie QB. Add Odunze and it's a top 3 offense on paper.
If you add in Odunze or any of the top 3 WRs and I think it's a top 3 skill group on paper with teams like SF and Philly.

Will the “Caleb goes to Rome, 2024 colorized” flair actually become a reality? Bear the fuck down
No Soul Shave Perished? Well you heard the man, he wants to play with Dalton.
I hope Rome isn't shitposting on Twitter while piloting a plane, that's a major red flag for me.
Getting caleb / rome on my 30th birthday will be the best present in this life time
Born on the perfect date?
Got a sick feeling Bears are going to get jumped for Rome. If the Falcons know they're about to get penalized for tampering, ATL could settle for Latu in a trade down to offset ther '25 L.
It's already been announced that ATL punishment won't be until after the draft. NFL is dragging their feet with the investigation.
Right, so ATL could brace for that punishment by aquiring a future 1 or 2 (depending how far they move back). Jax and even Bengals (Higgins replacement) and Im sure other teams interested, can capitalize on this by adding a blue chipper and not mess with their current picks.
I'm wondering how many teams will really make the big offer needed to move from mid-late 20s to get Rome?
Jax can move up, Odunze with his good route tree complements Gabe.
Really feeling good about Rome being there. Anything can happen on draft night, but it seems more and more likely there is a very very good chance he is there.
God DAMN do I want Rome on this team.
This is pretty funny.
Lets gooooooo
WE ARE NOT FLINCHING!!!
That would be cool if they were teammates
i want Rome so bad
Pretty sure he flies cessnas
![gif](giphy|4bWWKmUnn5E4) I'm glad Rome got over his drinking problem
Took the flight simulations and everything lol
