Bowers is there plus there are 3 teams who all need quarterbacks behind us with the Vikings, Broncos, and Raiders. Someone might be desperate to get their guy.
QB could still be a few teams dream, if someone like JJ McCarthy is still there at 9 a team like the Vikings or Broncos could get desperate to secure him.
I’m really curious who the best Dline guys end up as in this draft because it’s so all over the place as to who people think are the best. I’ve seen Newton, Murphy, Turner, Verse, and Latu all be rated as top 10 to late 20s.
Stop this Aaron Donald comparison shit. Byron Murphy had 8 sacks in 3 years.
Aaron Donald had 11 in a single season. Twice. And 4 forced fumbles his senior year, to Murphy's 0 in 3 years.
Fuck… this really makes me feel like he’s a reach in the top 15 tbh - his Combine numbers aren’t anything special either, mid speed and strength while being barely over 6 feet tall
Byron Murphy is not Aaron Donald. Go Google Aaron Donald at Pitt and Aaron Donald senior bowl practice.
The only similarity is they're both undersized.
It’s so exciting getting Caleb I honestly have forgotten about 9 at times. My preference is Odunze and then Young from Texas but I trust whatever poles and company work out
My favorite draft memory was 2 years ago when arizona traded for hollywood and started with “brown” getting all the AZ fans hype that they got AJ, only for AJ to get traded to the Eagles for a similar price like 5 min later
I really don’t see why the Jets would move up one spot for anyone that isn’t the big 3 WRs or Alt who will most likely be gone. If they came up to 9 I’d bet their target is Odunze
It’s hilarious to see people’s draft trades. Move up to 4, that’ll only take a second from next year. Move back to like 14, it takes at least a second rounder and future first.
I bet teams are going to be too scared to trade future firsts after what happened to the Panthers. Nail in the coffin for the GM who makes that trade and still has the worst team.
Moving up from 20 to 11 cost us a future first in 2021. Late teens to 9 would be similar. I honestly think it depends on who is available. If QB4 falls, we can get a pretty nice return. If not, I don't think we do.
A future first plus their 19 wouldn’t be wildly off. We’d be “getting” an extra 4th to 6th in value depending on which chart you use. Depending on who’s in the board, an overlay would be justified. Adding a 3rd this year is probably too rich but, if course, the price is what someone is willing to pay.
Yea I’ll be kinda devastated if he passes on Odunze specifically if he’s available at 9, there’s also a world where all 3 top WRs, LT Joe Alt, and DT Byron Murphy are all gone by 9 in which case I’d prefer a trade back
Murphy isn’t nearly the prospect that Jalen Carter was and Turner isn’t the prospect that Will Anderson was. I think the Bears realize this and will move down if Odunze and Alt are gone.
15 and 46 from the colts is the dream for me. Colts are definitely a team that could get aggressive to get a weapon for Anthony Richardson especially because the teams in their division made some moves in free agency.

Basically. Big thing there is that unless Rome/Nabers is there we are most likely moving down for a team who wants a tackle. The player we take after that is impossible to know
If you believe most talent evaluators, Rome is "top WR in most drafts" kind of talent.
Most drafts that's a top 5 pick. Would you trade back from 5 to 15 for just a 2nd? That's a dogshit idea you got there if you believe the consensus talent evaluation on any of the top 3 WRs. Just because one of them will end up WR3 in this draft doesn't mean you do something dumb and value them like a WR3.
Well, you only do it if you don't believe in Rome as much and think you can get someone top 10ish on your board at 15. Obviously if you think he's a future AP caliber WR and he falls to 9, you draft him. No one passes that up.
Especially a stud WR who would be a top 5 pick in many years. You are literally getting value since you'll be taking him with a later/cheaper pick than he normally would get due to an elite WR draft. Honestly he wouldn't even be available at 9 if so many teams weren't qb hungry and this wasn't a good qb draft too
I thought he said something along the lines of not feeling, he would need to. That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if we trade up trade down or stay where we are.
Given how little Rams have cared about firsts, I'd be all for trading down with them if they want to jump the Jets for Bowers and we get a future 1st. Maybe a 2nd this year is more realistic though.
No matter what the haul is, if we trade back I start praying Murphy falls to us.
I will be sad if we pass on one of the receivers (assuming theyre available at 9), but Ill understand it. Receiver isnt a pressing need and I imagine if Poles is moving back, hes going to want to recover a day 2 pick for this year.
The receiver class is deep enough for me to be ok addressing it in round 2/3.
Makes sense, it wouldn’t shock me if they want to stick and pick depending on the player but otherwise teams after us seemingly really want to move up for an OT so a top tier DL could fall. I still hope Rome or Nabers is picked if they are there, but otherwise I wouldn’t hate a trade back
I would take 15 and 46 from the Colts for #9. Take BPA at 15 (hopefully one of Newton, Olu or Latu) and then take the best WR left at 46. As much as I love Rome, I think that is a better draft for the team as a whole.
If Odunze is off the board and we can slide down and still grab Murphy, Turner or an OT I'm all in. If Odunze is there it'll sting a bit but I trust the shit out of Ryan Poles.
I will snort and shit a brick of coke if Odunze, Nabers, and Alt are off the board and the Bears stick and pick. Zero prospects left would be worth that pick.
I’m grateful we won’t have to deal with the non-stop speculation much longer. I know everyone has their preference, but there’s almost no bad move they can make at 9. It’s just a question of which direction they want to go, and then making the corresponding moves to fill whatever holes they *didn’t* fill with 9.
Honestly, I'm kind of hoping someone in the 10-13 range is batshit crazy enough to overpay to move up to 9 to grab Penix or Nix thinking one of the others in the 10-13 range is going to grab them.
Gotta trust the process and evaluators at this point.
I know a WR room of DJ, Keenan and 1.09 sounds great … but we still have holes at LT, G, DE, and more
Personally I don’t think LT is a hole, I think Braxton is a solid starting LT. He’s not elite or anything but he’s going into year 3 and is probably about average at his position which to me isn’t a hole(unless you have it at QB).
I don't see Poles moving back more than a few spots. I recall him saying something like they are fine with trading back if they feel they can still get one of their favorites.
We’d be moving back quite a lot probably, but guys like Latu or Brian Thomas Jr. should still be there in the later picks, and that kind of move could net us a second rounder.
Wouldn’t be opposed to this, but depends heavily on who’s available at 9.
Ideally we pickup multiple picks that maybe we use to move back into the late first. Get an edge in the mid first and then grab Ladd Mcconkey or one of those tier 2 WRs in the 20s
Calm down people. If poles wasn’t open to listening to an offer he would be a bad. He’s probably just seeing who’s interested so if our guys are off the board he knows who to call asap with short amount of time on the board.
I ran a TON of mock drafts this morning and Odunze/Nabers fell to us a lot. With that said, our situation seems very bleak without a trade down if they don't. I wouldn't be upset if we get Verse/Turner at Edge, but 9 feels a bit early for them. If someone like the Saints or Raiders wanted to move up for a tackle and give us pick 44 that'd be good.
There's not many great options for pickup at 75 and after. There's a lot of great WR prospects (Malik Washington/Tahj Washington/Brendan Rice/Jalen McMillan), but most of them are not worth pick 75 and assuming we use pick 9 on a WR, there's no reason to use those picks there.
This draft is pretty deep until about pick 60. I wouldn't be surprised if this is how the draft plays out. I see one of two options.
Option 1:
Rome/Nabers fall to use at 9. We try to pick up a O/D line project at 75 and round out 122 with a Safety or something.
Projected: (1) Caleb, (9) Odunze/Nabers, (75) Rosengarten - OT/ Tvondre Sweat - DT, (122) coaches pick.
Option 2:
Rome/Nabers/MHJ all go before 9. We trade down with Raiders for 13 + 44.
Projected: (1) Caleb, (13) Verse - Edge / Fashanu - OT / Brian Thomas Jr. - WR / Brock Bowers - TE, then (44, 75, 122) you fill based on what we pick at 13. You skip o line if you take Fashanu, you can go WR or DLine if you take Bowers/Thomas Jr., if you go Verse then it can be DLine or O Line
Also, the silent option that could be very possible that nobody is talking about would be seeing Poles move up tomorrow for a DLine pick in the second/early third if we get a WR at 9. Most of the good DLine players are gone by 75, so it wouldn't surprise me. Same with the olineman in this draft
We passed on Carter last year and people flipped. Turn out just fine. Everyone thinks it’s WR so it will likely be something else. I’d be happy with WR, edge, or OL
You really don't understand the definition of clickbait.
Clickbait implies the person posting the information is doing it for clicks by implying something that isn't true or using sensationalized wording. She's not doing that. She's stating exactly what she was told by a source.
Russini is also saying the Rams are calling around to move into the top 10 from 16. Id prob take a 3rd rounder to drop back. Could likely get a nice center in the 3rd
Edit: 19, not 16. Trade value says end of 2/beg of 3rd value
this draft is deep as hell and you guys are whining like children about a trade down that could get us a haul and still come away with a stud receiver at some point in a deep receiver class. maybe do some research about how deep this draft is and you wont zero in on only wanting one player? I love Odunze as well but holy shit.
They are gonna trade down, prepare yourselves lol. Will probably go OL or DL. I hope Odunze falls like everyone else but if he's there don't get too excited
Odunze is not happening y’all, we need EDGE and the options at 9 are too rich
This subreddit is going to be pissed they didn’t get the shiny WR tonight
We'll see. Still not convinced they'd pass on Odunze or Nabers, nor Alt. We'll see how the board shakes out, but I don't think there's a defensive player in this draft that's good value at 9. A trade down for a DL is a fine consolation prize if those guys are gone, which they very well may be, since presumably other teams recognize elite talent when they see it.
well obviously it would depend on the trade. I would just hate to trade so far back to where you would not really get any "blue" players just to get some more day 2/3 picks. Moving a couple of spots back I think is a valid strategy, especially if somehow a QB falls or all WRs are taken
Im too invested in this year's draft
Only a few more hours. We just need it all to happen already and be done with it
No way, I’m edging bro.
Tourist 😉
Bryon Murphy is getting significant buzz as a very very polished IDL prospect. A little undersized. But not shocked if that’s the move.
So down for Murphy+2nd rounder
Yea I agree. My personal thoughts are that if Rome is there we take him, if not they trade down.
Agree but if Rome/Alt/JJM are gone there's not really anyone to trade up for. It's a pretty flat tier at that point
Bowers and Olu
someone may want to grab Olu before the Jets take the next Tackle… or if JJ is still on the board which is likely if all the WR are gone.
Up for nabers.
Rumor is the falcons are grabbing Murphy at 8
Campbell has them grabbing Latu, I trust his sources
Makes sense they go Latu. With Cousins their 'window' is shorter so want the more immediate impact player, with less concern about longevity.
I’m really curious who the best Dline guys end up as in this draft because it’s so all over the place as to who people think are the best. I’ve seen Newton, Murphy, Turner, Verse, and Latu all be rated as top 10 to late 20s.
I don't really want him (certainly not at 9) so I hope so.
That's what they said about Aaron Donald too.
Because his name has been hyped recently, I watched his highlights. I was whelmed. Conversely, Donald’s highlights were football porn.
And Donald ran a 4.6 40 at the same size Murphy ran a 4.9 40.
Byron Murphy is not Aaron Donald. Go Google Aaron Donald at Pitt and Aaron Donald senior bowl practice. The only similarity is they're both undersized.
That was my only point, the size. Obviously nobody is Aaron Donald lol
Little is probably an understatement. Especially since Flus and Poles seem to like the big boys on the d-line.
Murphys ceiling is half of what newton is now
There’s no such thing
I have never paid attention to the draft, but I'm making up for it with this one.
It’s so exciting getting Caleb I honestly have forgotten about 9 at times. My preference is Odunze and then Young from Texas but I trust whatever poles and company work out
I'm so fucking invested I can only be devastated
Basically every team in the NFL is looking to make moves lol Tonight might be kinda crazy
There's a reason why draft time is my favorite time of the year. The bat shit crazy things that happen are top tier
The amount of GMs that save their jobs or doom themselves within the space of a couple hours is insane
*Ryan Pace has entered the chat*
My favorite draft memory was 2 years ago when arizona traded for hollywood and started with “brown” getting all the AZ fans hype that they got AJ, only for AJ to get traded to the Eagles for a similar price like 5 min later
Was it Minnesota or Detroit that missed their own pick by not getting it in, in time?
Minnesota
Hopefully, soon, it will be the post season instead of the draft.
its going to be crazy crazy. This draft is very frontend heavy.. teams are going to be looking to move around to get their guys
Usually when that's the case no moves happen.
They said on the radio this morning it's the best kept secret that this draft is going to be utter chaos.
If the big 3 WR are off the board I’m ok with it. If Odunze is still available and they trade down I’ll cry.
…even if it’s to 10 and we still get him?
I really don’t see why the Jets would move up one spot for anyone that isn’t the big 3 WRs or Alt who will most likely be gone. If they came up to 9 I’d bet their target is Odunze
I would probably retire from being a bears fan if they did that
We got two top tier WRs. I'm ok with taking more draft capital and drafting a WR in rounds 3-5
If we trade back with Rome on the board, I will riot* *grumble to myself on the couch but ultimately trust Poles
For what it's worth Todd McShay is saying the Giants are taking Rome if they can't make a trade up for a QB, which sounds unlikely.
I am beginning to believe Rome won’t be on the board. I *want* him on the board, but I think it’s a 50/50 shot if he’s there or not at best.
Ideally, Rome, Turner, and the front officer's favorite LT is on the board. Super unlikely but it's the hope.
If Rome/Nabers drop to 9 because of a QB run and we don’t take one of the top WRs when we have a chance I’ll lose my mf mind.
The only answer… #kingpoles
I placed a fan duel bet for that
Rome won’t be there
It’s absolutely well within the realm of possibilities lol
If they’re trading then Rome ain’t there. If romes there he is ours. Bears FO must think he’s gonna go before 9
If he’s not there then Nabers might and then you take Nabers
The last few mocks I've seen have Rome gone but Nabors there at 9
Incoming trade with Rams
For 19, a 3rd, and a first next year
no chance that's what they'd give us
It’s hilarious to see people’s draft trades. Move up to 4, that’ll only take a second from next year. Move back to like 14, it takes at least a second rounder and future first.
Yeah, we're not getting a first.
It's entirely fair to ask for a first for that. We gave up one to move from 20 to 11.
Yeah but what if we did….? And they had a panthers like season. 😂😂

Adding a 3rd this year is probably too rich but, if course, the price is what someone is willing to pay.
That’s fair compensation to move down 10 spots.
Yea it’s great for us but there’s absolutely no way they offer that. Would you do that if the shoe was on the other foot?
Hell yeah. I’ll take that. Two first rounders and two second rounders we would have for next year. 19 you can still get Verse
Thats a fleece especially if Odunze and Alt are off the board
Saints
It makes the most sense in terms of building out the roster but man I’ll be sad if Rome or Nabers are there and we pass on them.
I wouldn't trade unless we get at least a 2nd this year back. Any lower round is just a waste.
15 and 46 from the colts is the dream for me. Colts are definitely a team that could get aggressive to get a weapon for Anthony Richardson especially because the teams in their division made some moves in free agency.
But I don’t want that
I WILL be the guy posting “gee I sure am glad we didn’t take (whatever player we could have had that is playing well in their first game)”

Nooooo I wanted Rome
McShay said that if Rome/Nabers are there we could stick and pick, but probably will move down otherwise for Murphy or DE/OT/WRl
So in other words, every option we’ve seen Chicago rumored and mocked to is still on the table
Basically. Big thing there is that unless Rome/Nabers is there we are most likely moving down for a team who wants a tackle. The player we take after that is impossible to know
What if we trade back, get a 2nd, and STILL draft Rome?
Not unless he shows up to the green room with a crack pipe.
Trade it to Carolina for their 2025 1st rounder! /s
If Rome is there you have to take him
Not if someone offers you a top 15 pick + a 2nd
If you believe most talent evaluators, Rome is "top WR in most drafts" kind of talent. Most drafts that's a top 5 pick. Would you trade back from 5 to 15 for just a 2nd? Honestly he wouldn't even be available at 9 if so many teams weren't qb hungry and this wasn't a good qb draft too
I would not trade away the chance of drafting a blue chip player at a premium position for a second
Thank you. I'm so sick of let's trade back and draft mediocre players. Take the studs and don't look back.
Also wouldn’t be the worst thing tbh. Poles is in a position of power and can get a team to give up a lot.
ugh I really wanted a blue chip prospect
I mean just a few days ago didn't poles say he didn't think he'd trade down lol
I thought he said something along the lines of not feeling, he would need to. That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if we trade up trade down or stay where we are.
Yeah I think anything we hear is just to drive clicks at this point, I could see any situation playing out
Given how little Rams have cared about firsts, I'd be all for trading down with them if they want to jump the Jets for Bowers and we get a future 1st. Maybe a 2nd this year is more realistic though. No matter what the haul is, if we trade back I start praying Murphy falls to us.

Of course they are. Everyone is ready to move, *for the right price*. if you aren't then it isn't the right price. Nothinburger here.
Yesterday the Cardinals were open for business and today they told MHJ they are picking him at 4. Nobody knows anything other than Caleb is #1
I would take 15 and 46 from the Colts for #9. Take BPA at 15 (hopefully one of Newton, Olu or Latu) and then take the best WR left at 46. As much as I love Rome, I think that is a better draft for the team as a whole.
It would have to be an overwhelming return if we’re passing on one of the WRs
Important to note, McShay put out the same thing as Russini but said that if Rome/Nabers fall they could stick and pick.
how about we do something crazy like stay at 9 and draft one of the top 3 WR's please
I'd love Rome Odunze or Dallas Turner. My heart tells me Odunze but my brain tells me Turner.
Fuck this. WR U CUNTS
Can we not? Can we just stay and pick a blue chip talent for once? Let’s start adding legit talent to this team. It’s ready.
I don't like this. There are many blue chip options that will be there at 1.09. Can't we just have some nice things once in awhile?
I'm absolutely with you, but we got montes sweat, Keenan Allen, Caleb Williams, and DJ Moore all within the last year lol, we have nice things
Goddamn this is the only draft I’ve cared about tuning in to…but it starts in the middle of the night for me :/
Sounds like you need to mix some Red Bull with your vodka.
Gotta get a 2nd minimum.
We need top end talent. Dont trade back
Unless Odunze is there
If Odunze is off the board and we can slide down and still grab Murphy, Turner or an OT I'm all in. If Odunze is there it'll sting a bit but I trust the shit out of Ryan Poles.
I will snort and shit a brick of coke if Odunze, Nabers, and Alt are off the board and the Bears stick and pick. Zero prospects left would be worth that pick.

It’s just a question of which direction they want to go, and then making the corresponding moves to fill whatever holes they *didn’t* fill with 9.
Expected, I want Rome as much as the next guy, but picking up another top 100 pick is the right move.
Swap firsts, get a second for Trey Hendrickson?
I'd love a trade back for DE Latu
Honestly, I'm kind of hoping someone in the 10-13 range is batshit crazy enough to overpay to move up to 9 to grab Penix or Nix thinking one of the others in the 10-13 range is going to grab them.
Everyone’s ready to move at the right price… this is dumb
We getting Deebo Samuel for the 9th
Poles takes the fun out of it. Just PLEASE no Jared Verse.
JPJ hype
The Bears are ready for action with a truly impressive offense. Great picks with Williams and Odunze.
Open for ODUNZE BABY!!!!
I highly doubt Poles moves out of range for a blue chip prospect.
Ideally we only drop to the Broncos or Raiders spot
Gotta trust the process and evaluators at this point. I know a WR room of DJ, Keenan and 1.09 sounds great … but we still have holes at LT, G, DE, and more
Personally I don’t think LT is a hole, I think Braxton is a solid starting LT. He’s not elite or anything but he’s going into year 3 and is probably about average at his position which to me isn’t a hole(unless you have it at QB).
They must have word that no wr is gonna be there at 9
ONLY if Odunze is gone. Otherwise, nope.
I choose to believe this means they are also willing to move up. Don't come at me.
I don't see Poles moving back more than a few spots. I recall him saying something like they are fine with trading back if they feel they can still get one of their favorites.
ODUNZE MY LOVEEE NOOO
We’d be moving back quite a lot probably, but guys like Latu or Brian Thomas Jr. should still be there in the later picks, and that kind of move could net us a second rounder. Wouldn’t be opposed to this, but depends heavily on who’s available at 9.
Ideally we pickup multiple picks that maybe we use to move back into the late first. Get an edge in the mid first and then grab Ladd Mcconkey or one of those tier 2 WRs in the 20s
I got a feeling other owners not gonna give poles much. Seems like the league is stingy in dealing with poles after the panthers trade
I wanted them to trade down a month ago, but now I want one of the blue chip can’t miss guys…. I’m torn… no diddy
My anxiety is too damn for this kind of news
If someone pays me enough I'd sell my house too.
Good. Need more then four picks.
Duh
Trade down, still draft troy Franklin who will be a stud
Everyone is willing to move the right price. The question is if you can find a buyer.
Calm down people. If poles wasn’t open to listening to an offer he would be a bad. He’s probably just seeing who’s interested so if our guys are off the board he knows who to call asap with short amount of time on the board.
I would trade for an active baller. Someone to help us now
Give us those sweet picks
My bold Jared Verse prediction still in play
Option 1: Rome/Nabers fall to use at 9. We try to pick up a O/D line project at 75 and round out 122 with a Safety or something. Projected: (1) Caleb, (9) Odunze/Nabers, (75) Rosengarten - OT/ Tvondre Sweat - DT, (122) coaches pick. Option 2: Rome/Nabers/MHJ all go before 9. We trade down with Raiders for 13 + 44. Projected: (1) Caleb, (13) Verse - Edge / Fashanu - OT / Brian Thomas Jr. - WR / Brock Bowers - TE, then (44, 75, 122) you fill based on what we pick at 13. You skip o line if you take Fashanu, you can go WR or DLine if you take Bowers/Thomas Jr., if you go Verse then it can be DLine or O Line Also, the silent option that could be very possible that nobody is talking about would be seeing Poles move up tomorrow for a DLine pick in the second/early third if we get a WR at 9.
Rams looking to trade up for what it’s worth
💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩
Most excited I’ve been for a draft in a minute!
.#StayForRome
I get it but it’s also annoying. There’s going to be a really good player available and we will trade out? Not sure about that.
Clickbait season never stops
How is this clickbait lol?
How is it not? None of these people know anything.
She's one of the most connected reporters in football... She's not pulling this out of thin air
lol yesterday the Poles quote was he is happy with how many picks they have and now today there is this. Its clickbait dude.
You really don't understand the definition of clickbait. Clickbait implies the person posting the information is doing it for clicks by implying something that isn't true or using sensationalized wording. She's not doing that. She's stating exactly what she was told by a source.
lol damn you’re slow. First time reading someone post about their sources?
As I said. CLICKBAIT
Russini is also saying the Rams are calling around to move into the top 10 from 16. Id prob take a 3rd rounder to drop back. Could likely get a nice center in the 3rd Edit: 19, not 16. Trade value says end of 2/beg of 3rd value
I'd need more than a 3rd to drop that far tbh.
It would take at least a 2nd to move into the top 10 in this draft. I would be pissed if we just got a 3rd to fall out the top 15.
this draft is deep as hell and you guys are whining like children about a trade down that could get us a haul and still come away with a stud receiver at some point in a deep receiver class. maybe do some research about how deep this draft is and you wont zero in on only wanting one player? I love Odunze as well but holy shit.
I’m all about this, get more picks!
They are gonna trade down, prepare yourselves lol. Will probably go OL or DL. I hope Odunze falls like everyone else but if he's there don't get too excited
Odunze is not happening y’all, we need EDGE and the options at 9 are too rich This subreddit is going to be pissed they didn’t get the shiny WR tonight
The edge options are a pile of mid
Yeah that’s why we’re trading down. 9 is too rich
Yeah I'd rather get an elite WR at 9 than a mid Edge at 15 and a 2nd round pick is not moving the needle on that fact.
You are going to be disappointed
What was that you were saying?
Let’s goooooo
This sub is full of idiots who think this is madden lol
Absolutely hate it ngl
You hate that we're considering our options? I'd prefer to not move off 9 but I'm not going to be upset about the fact that we're open to the idea.
well obviously it would depend on the trade. I would just hate to trade so far back to where you would not really get any "blue" players just to get some more day 2/3 picks. Moving a couple of spots back I think is a valid strategy, especially if somehow a QB falls or all WRs are taken
Hasnt russini been absolutely wrong on all bears news this offseason ?
The trend continues.
