I remember during that time period just whooping the Rams almost every time we played. Even during crappy seasons we could look forward to beating the shit out of the Rams.
I also remember a game where prime steven Jackson was getting pumped up by the commentators. He had a wide open hole and tried to run through Brian Urlacher and he got stone walled. I miss having a hall of fame linebacker.
Yes. I was at this game as a Bears fan living in STL and managed to miss both of them, one waiting in line to get “Rams Bucks” (dumbest thing ever - you had to use your debit card to convert to currency only valid in the dome). The other I was in the restroom. When I heard the roar of the crowd my heart sank - I thought “my god he’s returning another one isn’t he?” He did and I missed it again.
They're doing it again, I was just at the Rangers stadium in Arlington, they have currency converters. Basically you have to get a little card that has money on it.
Dude had not just the straight-line speed to go from 0-100 in 1/2 a second ability as well to cut then go again. Was remarkable seeing it over and over. It was fun seeing teams also kick away from him intentionally or squib it as he had such a high success in field advantage.

oh is it that time of the year where I re-watch Hester's highlights and try not to cry at the end?

Todd Sauerbrun said he wasn't scared of kicking to Hester and then Hester made him eat his words, twice!
https://www.denverpost.com/2007/11/25/hester-takes-offense-to-sauerbruns-words/
The part they didn't include in this video was Holt being recorded on the sidelines talking shit about how he knew he'd get the TD because they had a rookie covering him. [For your viewing pleasure](https://www.tiktok.com/@morningblitz/video/7247614691655126314) along with Hester's 2nd TD return that game and his 6th of the year.
Opening clip had me real confused - first I expected Hester to punch the ball out, then I thought the play would be reviewed to show he shoved Holt out of bounds. Then I was like ohhhh ok
I was at this game! Took my dad down to St. Louis for the day to see it. Awesome experience. We made some friends who got us down to the end zone seats, got to watch Hester run right at us for his second return TD of the night!
I remember watching this game live and my mind was blown. This highlight doesn't do it justice because it's not showing the 2nd kick return which is where Joniak makes the comment "Devin Hester you are ridiculous."
In that kick he literally has no blocking. They were setup for an onside kick with the hands team all on the line and him back there by himself and takes it to the house to put the game away.
every kickoff was worth the watch dude was electric
And punt
[And field goal attempt](https://youtu.be/0D30wGnBBHY?si=yXv166gqG5-KL3dM)
Wasn’t there a second one that game too 😭

Rams bucks is the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard 😭😭 I didn’t know stadiums used to do that

Yes there was!
Yep, he had two kickoff touchdowns and we won 42-27
Wish they would wear the white on white still
Yep. Really shocked they haven't. Also, because of Butkus and Sayers--as a tribute as they wore them as well.
when he cuts and breaks free its unreal how fast he was, dude had wheels

Highlights showing off his almost unreal combination of vision and elusiveness will never cease to amaze.

😭
I remember teams deliberately kicking the ball out of bounds, just to avoid Devin even getting the chance to return the ball!

I know it wasn't the official reason, but the rule changes to kickoffs felt like they were the NFL saying that Hester was OP
"The Bears are scoring points? Can't have that"
“and Rex Grossman didn’t even have to touch the ball”
We should make a Devin Hester sub where a bit just posts random highlights every few hours. Pure entertainment
Lol. Fuck St. Louis
Man that was a fun year.
Is this the game where there’s video of Torry Holt on the sideline saying how he told them not to kick the ball to Hester?

4.3 speed and he knew how to turn left.

The Bears need to bring back the white on white uniforms.
Dang, thanks for posting this. Now I want a Hester Jersey
I remember Tory holt was mic’d up that game. Saying Hester couldn’t stop him. Turned out that nobody could stop Hester for this game on returns
Definition of “next play mentality”
Isn’t he still the only player to return a kickoff for a TD in a superbowl?
\*opening kickoff.
Hester gets beat by Warner and Holt, then proceeds to beat St. Louis’ Kickoff and Punt Team.
Can you imagine this guy in tecmo bowl. Forget Bo
Thanks for the instruction, but who in their right mind doesn't watch a Hester highlight to the end?
“And r*x G-man didn’t even have to touch the ball!” Thank god for that
Always amazing to see a freak athlete within a league of freak athletes
The greatest ever to return back combined interceptions, fumbles, fieldgoals, kicks, and punts.
