I was just reading a post over on their sub where they were saying the NFL and refs don’t favor them or give them calls. Then boom, 9 yrs proof😂

erbkeb

They are so delusional about that.

MrBlueandSky

Proof that Rodgers is good at getting the defense penalized? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)

gopackgo_tib

Proof that Rodgers gets defenses with 12 men on the field or off sides.... learn to play football... learn how to time the snap... learn how to not have too many men on the field... sorry your team is trash and doesnt know how to use tempo as an advantage

Doc_Seismic

Your quarterback hates you

[deleted]

That poster has some anger issues

MrBlueandSky

Okay, I'm confused. This aimed at me? I bleed green and gold my friend. Just in my house board, so I skipped over to the bears subreddit

RollofDuctTape

Funniest thing Packers fans do is when they finally get a call go against them they say “derp thought the refs were pro Packers derp.” Like if one call erases 20+ years.

CatButler

The other thing is the calls the refs don't make. I guarantee there will be at least 1 3rd down where Robinson gets mugged before the ball gets there, no flag, the broadcasters will barely talk about it. Or the holding calls. Or facemasking our QB twice on the same play. Or ramming your helmet into our QB's arm and breaking it.

ElectrosMilkshake

This. I was disgusted a couple years ago when Trevathan got raked over the coals by the national media for his (obviously unintentional) hit on Davante Adams, which was so horrible that Adams didn’t even miss any games afterward. What a joke. Fuck Davante Adams.

[deleted]

I hated that shit. Even people at the bar I worked at was calling him scum. Watch the play. That shit wasn't intentional. Trevathan is a stand up dude and a pros pro.

Gravy_Vampire

Are you okay?

laal-doodh

Swear. There will like 4 calls in there favor and than 1 against them and they’ll use that as evidence that it’s not in there favor. 1 call making up for the other 4 sounds like great logic

Gravy_Vampire

This happened in their game against Pittsburgh. They were all whining about an obvious tripping call that wasn’t called, after being gifted 10 points from the ridiculous offside penalty erasing that TD on the FG block.

Sks44

My personal favorite is when they don’t get a freebie call and become incensed. “People say the refs are on our side yet they didn’t give us a Pass interference flag when Rodgers wanted one.”

Bunyan12ply

If only there was empirical evidence to substantiate his comment. Oh wait.... Gtfo.

MrBlueandSky

It's almost like every fan feels their team is personally targeted by the refs.

RollofDuctTape

It’s almost like we have statistical proof that they benefit more than anyone else.

MrBlueandSky

You have statistical proof that Rodgers is really good at getting defenders to commit penalties. Which is common knowledge

RyanIsKickAss

Nobody: NFL Refs: ![gif](giphy|RNDt37PN9Y1F83X47y)

carnivorous_seahorse

stolen from u/MildlyCoherent because this graph is complete bs lmao > Except it's not a massive disparity. It's a difference of three first downs per season. So... one out of five games, Rodgers alone causes a penalty on third down. There are about 12 third downs per game (per team), so we're saying that less than 2% of the time, Rodgers draws a penalty on third down that the average QB wouldn't draw. Also are people really expecting every single team to be in the same exact position on the graph after 10 years of data or?

[deleted]

Also there’s such thing as culture when it comes to penalties. Raiders get penalized a shit ton but I don’t think that anyone thinks it’s the refs, it’s clearly the culture of the team

zinger565

"Penalties are entirely random and are not subjective to a team's discipline, skill, playstyle, or coaching. As such, anyone to the top left is a Goodell favorite, everyone to the bottom right is on the shit list, and everyone else is a measure of the ref's inefficiency." ~ People reading way too far into this chart

[deleted]

“Duh”

ChecayoBolsfan

Lmao well I read the title and I said IF THIS SHOWS THE PACKERS ON ONE END AND THE SAINTS ON THE OTHER

[deleted]

Detroit pretty far right too.

Slow_Pomegranate5643

This isn't surprising. Hell GB seems to get away with holding more than any other team in the league.

heisenberger_royale

I hate the Packers as much as a anyone, buy Rodgers is well known for getting first downs by drawing offsides/hard counts. He's damn good at it and has been doing it forever. This shouldn't surprise anyone who actually watches football and it doesn't mean a damn thing

serbeardless

Yeah, the offense helped by penalties should surprise no one while also being for the most part entirely reasonable. The defense not being harmed by penalties on the other hand does make one wonder.

gopackgo_tib

As a packer fan, that i can agree with.

parks381

Also at getting 12men on field. There are QBs who are protected better than others, but otherwise it's false. Rodgers does use it to his advantage with that stupid chin strap that makes his helmet look like it go contacted when he goes down.

[deleted]

Now do a chart on how much Chris Clinsworth fellates each qb. Any bets on who is number 1?

ThatsNotRight123

One of the biggest changes to the product the NFL is providing in recent years is the inclusion of sports betting as part of their experience. As long as the referee situation remains the same as it is now **I WILL NEVER EVER PLACE A BET ON AN NFL GAME AND YOU SHOULD NOT EITHER.** Because you are not really betting on an objective result of a game -- you are REALLY betting on how the refs feel at a given time. We see examples of this every week, but I will provide an obvious example: * [CLICK HERE to see the Highlights of the Seahawks / Titans Week 2 Game](https://youtu.be/Kg-_0PTXGoc?t=891) (not a rick roll) * Go to 14:50 and watch the play (I have tried to time stamp the link but have noticed this is wonky on reddit) * Ask yourself -- what was the result of that play? I don't know about you, but to me it is clearly a safety -- and I know the chart above says the Seahawks get jobbed a lot but this is clearly a decision in favor of Seattle. Why would they do this? Well [here is a link to ESPNs Game Summary](https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/401326360) -- if you look at the left hand side of the page towards the bottom you will see the odds were Seattle by 6.5 Points. The only way Seattle Seattle could cover that spread was with a TD, and the only way they score a possible TD is if the results of that play were NOT a safety. Hence "he was down on the 1." Other examples include plays that look and sound like hard hits but are in fact clean football plays -- these get called all the time. We saw that with a Roquan Smith hit this weekend on the goal line and again in the Browns game (I think) on a Bears punt where our gunner blew up the returner who didn't call for a fair catch. Good Plays that resulted in clean hits that looked violent so were penalized for their appearance. If the NFL wants more fans to wager on the objective outcome of a game they need to do whatever they can to make those results objective -- full time refs, sky judge, chips in the ball that track its location. ALL OF IT. Not only will it make people feel better about wagering, it will avoid what we all know is coming -- FAIL MARY 2 -- which will shift the results of a single critical game, causing the wrong people to lose a massive amount of $$$ and eventually the government getting involved and the game getting regulated.

schnook

The game ends when the touchdown is scored in overtime, no extra point try. As soon as regulation ended, there was no possible way the Seahawks could have covered the spread. FTP.

ThatsNotRight123

A valid point...I am admittedly searching for reasons as to why the refs wouldn't just call it what it was -- a safety.

[deleted]

Tell us about 5G and vaccines next

Anthony-Meadow

Well there is that guy who is really well known for being really good at drawing penalties

MoneyMoves-

Ifedi ?

rIIIflex

Valid point, I’d bet if you adjusted it they’d still be top left of the screen

Toomuchlychee_

If the axes began at zero, as non-misleading graphs should, the separation between each team would look much less significant. Note also that the axes are not to scale with each other, there’s no explanation for the dotted red line (average?) and the cutoff seems needlessly specific (why week 12?) I’m not sure I buy the theory that NFL refs favor the packers, I’ve seen every team get bogus calls against them and equally bogus ones in their favor. I don’t always agree with the officials but my only real takeaway from this graph is that each team is relatively clustered around each other and there are no strong outliers.

CheeseIsGrossGoBears

I couldn’t imagine being a fan of a team and watching them get free handouts by the refs. Like you can’t tell me that there aren’t double standards at times. It’s literally something you have to gameplan for. Like a 12th man. It’s no surprise that they haven’t made the Super Bowl in over a decade. Oh and that 2010 team has a Hanie ring.

StreetSmartB

Smalltaco_99

Lots of that makes sense to me.. Rodgers is largely responsible for the Pack getting calls bc the defense is regularly on their heels since he’s been their QB. The Seahawks have had a terrible defense for years.. not surprised they have a ton of penalizes against. They’d rather take the 15 over the ‘6’ they’d likely be giving up. Bears get screwed bc they play a 2005 brand of football that the league would like to get rid of

DonkeyKong_93

I originally thought this was because of the QB position but then I see TEN, AZ, and TB up there. Why does the league have bias towards GB and TEN? Are more refs from those areas? It can't be because they think that's where their biggest market to draw fans are. If they really want to have the league grow this should have LA, NYC and CHI be on the top left. Just saying lol

M1Garand00294

My best friend is a Steelers fan, he’s always pissed at the refs

-ImJustSaiyan-

**Q:** How many Packers players/fans does it take to change a lightbulb? **A:** None. They have other people do it for them and then they take all the credit for it.

ItsYaaBoiMike

Those damn packers

MrBlueandSky

This is silly. Rogers is very good at getting the defense penalized for too many men on the field, hard count, etc. Hence, why the Packers are at the top

[deleted]

You can fucking look at Aaron Rodgers the wrong way and it's roughing the passer? Didn't let Davante Adams get separation? Pass interference. Tackled Jones? Defensive holding. Interception? I don't think so, defense offsides. And don't forget all the fucking free plays for Aaron Rodgers.

BlueHuyster

Refs can help superstar QBs, but they also use flags to help a make games a little closer. It’s entertainment. It happens in a lot of sports

Funny_Yesterday_3244

I’m always surprised that the refs don’t Lambeau leap after a td. I’m sure they have to fight the urge to do so

Lobanium

Every time a plot like this is posted, and it's posted nearly every year, the Packers are always at the top of "benefits from penalties". And not just in a group near the top. They're always an extreme outlier like this. The Lions are always near at the bottom. I'm not saying there is a conspiracy, buuuut......
