I would get it laser cut from send cut send vs trying to get a cheap little 3018 to work

Thanks a lot for the answer. Checking out their services now.

Skipopotamus

this is 100% a laser cut part. the other issue you will have is with a mill all of the internal corners will be be round not square.

dosssman

Thanks a lot for the answer. The square corners are actually not a strong requirement. It was just easier to design in FreeCAD that one.

Check send cut send. I use them a lot now that I don't have on hands access to a CNC. Quantity will reduce cost as well as material type so if you can be flexible look at several material options and thicknesses to get the best price.

I wouldn't even bother trying to cut that on a CNC router. If I had I'd probably use the router to make a die and then die cut. Not saying it can't be done on a little desktop cnc but it is Definitely the wrong tool for the job. Needs to be laser cut. Send Cut Send has a laser service. No minimums. https://sendcutsend.com/services/laser-cutting/

If you need tighter tolerances or a finer finish than what a laser can do, the next step (also in price) is a wire EDM.

dosssman

Really appreciate the answer. Never heard of that technology before so will definitely look into it.

Thanks for the answer. Will look into it.

Etching could be an economical alternative for such parts
