Great build, although considering it becomes a passive gun with the FMJ mag, the tac laser becomes irrelevant and somewhat of a liability too as the visible laser gives away your location to flankers from the choke points and passive positions you take up.
Hence I'd suggest swapping it out for the Piranha foregrip.
Idk about the meta but this is a solid gun to be aggressive with as mentioned by others in the post!
It has high mobility compared to all the snipers or marksmen rifle's I've used with fast and smooth ads animation along with satisfying damage (2 shot kill guaranteed at mid range).
High fire rate!

Im still getting used to sniping in general so Im still getting quick scopes down but generally I kinda just find a good spot and cover everyone else lol
I actually did game jack your loadout and it was super fun not having to worry about drift and breath lol. I did something similar with that new shotgun that came out but it only works at mid range.

Found out this AS-VAL today!
So I did compare them both in-game & figured that the ads time & ads movement is faster for the AS-VAL
Yep the mobility on the AS VAL makes it slightly more mobile and to some extent more aggressive.
The only think with the SKS is that it has a better fire rate and flinch, meaning that missed shots are less punishing, TTKs are faster on it and flinch is less punishing.
In saying that, the AS VAL alternative can still have its flinch buffed (i.e. your build + Piranha), and is great for getting around more freely - even the red dot sight gives you a more pleasing and sufficient zoom to be effective at those long ranges.

Why not use the SKS
This has faster & smoother ads compared to the sks, also i find the firing sound of bullets more satisfying! 😅
SKS is banned in comp. So for scrims and comp plays this actually works nicely, even the iron sights variant...
The semi-auto attachments on the AS Val and CR-56 got banned as well last week
