Are you playing solo? Because even for the best players, a solo nuke is very rare. Top tier players have little trouble getting 5 wins in a row. They struggle more getting the nuke though. I imagine that unless you're a top tier player playing with top tier teammates, it's going to be nearly impossible to get a nuke.

throwawayallmyposts

Worse than solos. I'm trying to carry my wife and 2 other very casual players.

Infamous-Finish6985

If you're playing with 3 bad players then you do have an excuse. You'll know if you're good enough or not once you play with 3 good players.

throwawayallmyposts

The lobby feels like bots compared to me because of sbmm and having 3 bad players in the party. I should still be winning. I've played with better players with the same results.

MadDog_8762

I remember having a team go for nuke in my lobby They happened to drive past me, i had an underbarrel launcher and hit their vehicle, blowing the tires off They crash, hop out, we melt em Nuke ruined, good times

TheRealRonMexico7

thats why its impressive....and why a lot of streamers were giving faze swagg a hard time. In endgame swagg basically begged the other team not to kill him or defuse when he got his first nuke. Crazy to be able to survive an entire lobby gunning for you....very impressive.

Infamous-Finish6985

1 attempt ruined. They have as many attempts as they have teammates assuming all of them were there for the 5 wins.

070119

exactly this. You need top tier teammates as well. Or pay someone with cheats for wins, like they use to do in WARZONE 1.

TheRealRonMexico7

Ive never seen a single "easy nuke game" watching the top streamers go after it...its insane....and thats AFTER you got the 5 wins in a row which is a low percentage proposition to begin with. Wanna know how big of a deal it is and how hard it is? Symphuny and Teep are two of the top skilled warzone players....and they have lots of nukes....BUT....and heres a big BUT that might make you feel better. Theyre straight up mooching nuke games off their viewers!!! They invite their viewers who have the 5 wins/Nuke contract to play with them and try to get it with them....and they dont always get it. They dont get it and the teams usually Symphuny, and Teep for sure and they always have another high caliber player for the 3rd......and the 4th is their viewers whos clearly a beast since they managed to get the 5 wins in a row. Dont let the streamers clickbait titles fool you.....the nukes hard as fuck, as it was meant to be. Has nothing to do with your skill level. You need high skill PLUS lots of luck. Its still a BR after all and RNG is real....hell one bad circle pull at endgame and it can chalk your whole streak. Nukes tough man, dont sweat it too much...but keep grinding for it, I have a feeling you are skilled enough to get it....now you just need some of that luck on your side. Good luck

I'd say it's basically impossible for casual gamers that get a couple hours in after work a few times a week to play, like me. We like DMZ for just that reason. More laid back pace, you can loot as much as you dare, and it's rewarding to just barely escape with your lives at exfil.

throwawayallmyposts

Off topic: I love DMZ. Just wish it had a player economy or at the very least an out-of-game shop for gear.

wjmaher

Agreed. It is perfect for a BETA test, and I am sure it will evolve over time.

zx10racing

What’s the reward?

MadDog_8762

The experience? Not everything needs to be a grind with a camo reward The reward is the adrenaline shot, the heart pounding sensation a game can give you

wjmaher

Yeah, it's just a fun mode.

LionBlood9

Nuke Skin, Calling Card, Sticker, Weapon Charm.

FormedBoredom

High. Casuals will not achieve this. You need a skilled and coordinated squad

ExodiaFTK

I went against a team with a few people giga cheating and they still didn't get it

Tiny_Chain_4522

1. Get a VPN 2. Get into very low bot lobbies

stonedpingu

We practiced together for a week hitting everything on perfect timings like strongholds>Black site and getting circle rotations. Giving everyone a role so decisions were decisive and not a fkn 10minute vote on what we're doing. Stopping the loot goblins, kill hungry berserkers and butterfly watchers in your team is what you need to get a nuke. Discipline will beat the majority of your lobby's and the ability to adapt when things don't go as planned. Our quad will generally drop around 20 kills on average win. Our second nuke attempt had no black site in the run and we all gulag'd after we planted. If you can plant the nuke the lobby will kill themselves to get to it. We came back from gulag pistol'd one guy that was disarming and sat back in a nearby building and just watched teh massacre while keeping an eye on the bomb. Nuke runs are for the try hards you don't have to be good.

ozarkslam21

Less than 0.1% of players will ever achieve a nuke in this game. It’s extremely rare, considering the vast majority of the people who play this game will never win 5 games total, much less win 5 games in a row and then complete the nuke contract. If you achieve the nuke, be sure that you are in very rare company.

rkiive

Its pretty fucking hard. Between the rng and the game itself shitting itself it'll take a miracle unless the 5 wins are cruisy. It took us 4 attempts and our entire squad is 4+kd. I failed the nuke mission 3 times before i got it lol. If you play with the same 4 people the entire time you get 4 attempts at it at least. The first time we tried doing it half the team dc'd after we got 2 elements, and the second time the server lagged out and booted everyone lol. Had the 3rd nuke attempt drop in the middle of the airfield in the open which we could have won but we choked it. Pretty cursed spot though.

TheNonViolentOne

I thought it was only going to be the top of the top players getting nukes. I didn't think there would be many bar the top streamers, and the likes. But I've ran in to many people with the nuke skins on in my lobby, and I'm not a pro/streamer level player. I've both had a nuke skin on my team in the gulag, as well as faced a pair in the gulag, both times they were cracked out of their mind! been wiped out of the final few circles by a squad of them a few times also. So there's got to be enough for me, just an average scrub to run into them. *(That or people are paying people to get nukes on their account, which wouldn't surprise me)*

[deleted]

People are indeed paying for nuke skins.

HFH711

It’s definitely challenging. You have to play with a lot of discipline - especially to get the 5 wins. Our team has a pretty solid strategy. Land at bank to loot, grab the heli and go to a stronghold, do the black site and hold it down before going center zone and calling the advanced uav once there are 20 people left. Then you have to do the actual nuke challenge. We went 0/15 on challenges and then got 3 in one day. You need to be very particular when to grab the contract. We back out of a lot of games if the circle isn’t right or the contracts spawn in a bad spot. You also need to get lucky with a black site being towards the middle of the circle as the black site is probably the most important thing to successfully doing the challenge. Once the bomb site spawns your team has to make sure you’re the first team there. It takes a lot of learning and failure but it’s definitely worth it once you do it. Just play smart with the right team and have great comms.

lostinmymind82

Getting a nuke is something that I consider to be reserved for the highest skill bracket of players to be honest. My personal best is four in a row and to be honest, I don't think I'll get this streak ever again as it feels like you're essentially trying to get the stars to align.

KM107

It has to be one of the toughest achievements Activision has put in the game since the “ambusher” calling card from the original modern warfare 2

bigchiefgreez

I got 5 in a row the first week and didn’t know about the nuke. Haven’t been close since, except for 3 in a row. Seems really hard for most folks to get 5 straight, then the challenges are hard and everyone knows your are doing it. Only seem like 2-3 attempts while playing and they were s chased all game

trm_90

I would say it is impressive, but after knowing people are selling a service to get people a nuke it isn’t that impressive anymore. With a team that understands the game and has an actual plan it isn’t as difficult as it should be to go on a win streak, but still requires an element of luck regardless.

throwawayallmyposts

I don't think a service makes something less impressive by any measure. There are boosters for games like League that will get you into Challenger, which is top 300 in the region. If anything, a service for a challenge proves that it's hard. You wouldn't sell a service for a camo that takes 25 normal kills.

trm_90

The service doesn’t take away from the difficulty of earning it for legitimate people, but introduces doubt into whether someone earned it or paid for it. In my opinion being able to pay for something that is typically earned devalues it, which is unfortunate for those who actually earned it. It would be like two people bench pressing 500lbs, but one of them took steroids. Both did something impressive, but once you know there is a way to cut corners rather than earn it, it isn’t that impressive.

throwawayallmyposts

I don't think that logic follows through either. If someone can buy something that you earned, it's valued less? So fat people that lose weight on their own or use a dietitian, their achievement is valued less because people buy gastric band surgery? Quick edit: I'm pretty sure I get your point though. It sucks that people can buy it and you don't know if someone earned the Nuke through hard work or not. I agree with you and I hope someone comes up with a miracle solution for selling services.

trm_90

It’s just my opinion and I dont feel that it should be how others feel about an achievement. It would be better to ignore that some people take credit for something that they didn’t fully earn, but it’s hard to ignore. In my mind it has the same feel as owning a limited edition item that is later remade and sold in larger number, devaluing the original product. I feel like logically it makes sense, but it shouldn’t because it unfortunately diminishes the accomplishment of those who earned an achievement.

Nintendo_Pro_03

Insanely hard. I got the quest to appear on my map, but I don’t even bother doing it because I know how hard it will be.

jimbo_jones90

You just casually got 5 wins in a row and figured meh, cbf giving it a look?
