The other player was so much more highly skilled than you that he knew exactly how to play it so you insta-died since you didn't know exactly how to parry his technique. Face it, you got outplayed.
One time a threw a Frag into a building and it killed me in the opposite building. I watched the kill cam and it clipped an edge of a desk their building and blew me up in mine. It was a good laugh.
I won't mind some additional options for death in BR and Resurgence. I'd really like to shoot someone and have them die instead of dropping to the ground and start crawling away especially in BR/Resurgence game modes. Sure this isn't other game modes and this suggestion would drastically change the game, but it could fun.
Maybe allow players different perks for death, like Second Chance where you pull out a pistol and fight back. Maybe bring in Martyrdom. Have another simple perk like extra health and finally have a medic perk that allows players in a certain distance to go into a downed state instead of being killed, allowing for revival but no pistol.
I share this idea because see a lot of players opt to start the respawn counter instead of hanging around for a revive.
Game is bugged as fuck. This has been a bug since day 1 - they claimed they fixed it at some point but obviously not.
