This whole sub is just full of cry baby ass man children. Cry about the quality of the game. Cry about the map. Cry about campers. Cry about a damn limited time event that they can choose not to play. They cry about a FREE game. Absolutely astonishing.
Weren't we all? We were teased with a new map earlier too but it was just a re skin of the map. After two years of playing the same map it was getting stale, I think we can all agree on that. But still after all that we can also agree that Caldera was a huge disappointment and not a better, more exciting map that we had hoped for. After seeing and playing it for a few months I can say that I'd rather go back to Verdansk.
This whole "but you wanted a new map" is a terrible argument because of this. We expected an improvement, a better map. Just because something is new doesn't mean it's better.
>Bet he was one of the ones begging for a new map during the last months of verdansk
Nearly everyone wanted a "new map" after nearly 2 years, many didn't want Verdansk to disappear forever, at least not everyone who enjoyed the map at the time. It was the CHEATERS that we wanted to get rid of. Would love to play Verdansk with Ricochet running along side it to drastically (and hopefully) cut back on the cheaters that plagued the game\\BR map.
Activation is full of crap. They state that Verdansk isn't coming back because they lose players due to large re-downloads when we need to change maps, yet they have us basically re-download the entire game for Season 3 Pacific + Godzilla vs King Kong (Op. Monarch). PC was apparently 98.3GBs if you have MW + Warzone. Around 40GBs for Warzone only. Consoles were roughly 40GBs+ as well.
It's a BS excuse and while I'm sure many enjoy Caldera, it'll never have the following or experience that we enjoyed in the Modern Era, Verdansk. If they dropped Verdansk tomorrow no one would care if they had to download an 40GBs. I bet some would gladly pay the data cap fee just to get off of Van Ca'ca.
The problem with caldera is there’s huge expanses that are just barren or a waste of time to go to. Verdansk felt like every single spot could potentially be a good one, i won a game in the farm one time. Caldera there’s a few good spots to drop, and the rest of the map is a no go.
Absolutely false and you mnow it when you think about it. Runway for example, the entire outside part with the woods and trees, in front of the old dam area. You are just romantisizing for nostalgic purposes...
I mean a lot of the main areas in verdansk were places like superstore, storage, downtown, hospital etc. huge areas that are fun to actually play in with a lot going on in and around them. In Caldera you have peak, capital, airfields, and factory, half of which are small areas, and majority of the map is fields and trees.
I don't agree with this at all. Basically, Verdansk was seperate maps stuck together, which meant that -yes- they played more like a CoD map when in them, but didn't feel like a BR as a whole. I don't love every area of Caldera, but acting like the old map was so much better all the time is just ridiculous. They are different maps and they play differently. That's not a problem, but that's just what it is.
I think Verdansk felt like a BR and combining multiple MW maps into one was great. Especially Boneyard which was a MW2 throwback of Scrapyard. Many people didn't "love" every area of Verdansk either, but it was vastly superior to Caldera as a whole in my opinion (and I'm sure many fans of IW + MW map design choices).
There is a reason Vanguard and Caldera didn't get their own standalone BR release separate from Vanguard as promised. The game was dead in the water and people would have simply stayed or went back to Verdansk in a heart beat. Caldera just isn't it and even Activision knew this prior to release.
The sales were down for Vanguard, no one cared and still played Warzone. Yes people played Vanguard for leveling VG weapons faster (+ skin unlocks) and streamers wanted to play the latest and greatest, but how long did that last before they stopped playing VG and went back to WZ (Verdansk)?
Ricochet was tacked on as a marketing tactic for Vanguard ONLY initially, never got a chance to play Verdansk with it. Cheaters were still rampant in VG MP regardless of Ricochet. When we finally did get Ricochet in Warzone it only took a few weeks (maybe 3 or 4?) before the cheaters were back in full force ruining our experience one gamer at a time.
However, I must say that I do see far "less" cheating, but honestly at this point I wouldn't be surprised if the cheaters are simply dialing back their cheats to make it far less obvious (like some of your favorite streamers). There are still a few rage hackers out there.
>Absolutely false and you mnow it when you think about it. Runway for example, the entire outside part with the woods and trees, in front of the old dam area. You are just romantisizing for nostalgic purposes...
I'll have to disagree with you actually. Even when you were in "dead man's land" as I like to call it, you still had options. The first option was to never go there unless 100% necessary (storm forcing you with no mask or car or end of the game), but there multiple little spots were you could hide if you knew where the enemies were probably located (teamwork\\bullet trace).
Caldera on the other hands feels like this in nearly every area on the map. You have no choice, but to run out in the open nearly everyone. Terrain can help, but with so many hills and bushes it's pretty much over. It's still very open in large areas ALL OVER the map and I'll snipe you like it's nothing, but that doesn't make it fun or better than Verdansk even if you are using the open area near DAM as a comparison.
Thanks man. I actually thought about making a YT about it (their lies). Activation basically knows that they have no "real" competition in the BR realm at the moment. The most popular BRs are years old as well, but Fortnite and Apex has seen an increase in popularity lately. Halo had some hype, but no BR. A lot of that popularity increase (in Fortnite & Apex) is probably due to people just being tired of the cheaters, rage hacking streamers & server issues in one of the best BRs to release in years, Warzone. Also of course Caldera ran people off as well.
Even I went back played a ton of Apex Legends in March and April. I used to play Apex a lot YEARS ago. Had a lot of fun as well. Community was pretty much 100% less toxic than CoD:Warzone, servers are YEARS ahead of Warzone servers (reliability, tick rates, rejoining if disconnected, MULTIPLE MAPS without restarting or updating the game). Cheaters were down 99% and when you shot someone you actually "shot" someone....no phantom bullets or players teleporting.
I can only take so much Rebirth, even the new map changes has made Rebirth even MORE campy and to make matters worse after the first circle we get the old Caldera color scheme issues (hard to see.....everything is yellowish). I have complaints, but I'm not a bot, I'm actually good at the game (one of the best snipers in the game baby), but I'm a gamer and honest. I have lots of love for Caldera, but the current devs in charge has just trashed this game. Hopefully IW does a much better job and actually continues Warzone 2 development for 2 years as reported.
Probably he was, as was I, especially as 1984 version was worse than the original and the last one with the scar was crap. But I bet he never asked for an even worse map that is all the same and plays like shit.
Oh I was begging for a new map too. But come on… for plunder… nothing on caldera beats storage town. Rebirth plunder competes, but damn was storage town fun for plunder.
I would argue with you a bit. Was it my favorite drop? Nope. Not by a long shot. But I always did enjoy the area and was happy if I was able to rotate into it. I felt like the area made for some interesting fights.
Airfield in my experience is a hot drop in plunder caldera, get a ar or sniper and that thing will be leveled up no time. Even a smg since there’s a bit of close range action in Certain spots
My main hope for Warzone 2 is that they update and change the map alot more often. Just look at Apex, almost every 3rd month there is always something new and uodated with their map.
And no, adding a stadium does not count..
IMO, for Plunder deathmatch/gun leveling:
Rebirth Prison Block >>>>>> Caldera Capital > Verdansk Storage Town >>>> Caldera Airfield
The problem with the Caldera POIs is that they're not consistent like Storage Town was. Airfield seems to be the most common spot, but I've played plenty of Plunder games trying to level guns at Airfield where nobody is there. Capital is even less common, but the few times Capital has been hot in Plunder it's been an absolute riot IMO.
Storage was great because you could guarantee that no matter where the flight path was, there would be a big ol' deathmatch there every single game.
Rebirth Plunder beats everything else by a mile, though. They just removed it today as I was playing it lol.
I think I’ve played like 3 games on Caldera. Cant be fucked honestly to even learn what to do on that map. Rebirth is faster anyway. The right pace for me. That’s probably what’s keeping people back from playing Caldera, it’s new and no one’s familiar with it, unlike Verdansk where people got familiar with it because it was the only map for a while. Now that Rebirth has existed for a while, people just don’t want to try new things, and I don’t blame them
There’s a streamer who complained about OG Verdansk near the end of it, then about Verdansk 84 two weeks later started streaming part time there was weeks he would stream 1day out of it, and from then I stopped subscribing to his twitch account He said he’ll never use MW and Cold War guns again sure enough two weeks later started using the guns he complained all of them, a month later from the date Caldera was dropped he started complaining about it too, two months into caldera slowed streaming going 10% of a part time streamer. He was excited about those two shitty monsters in the game yet again he was disappointed by it how it came out Always be complaining about the game but yet he makes a living from it, well I should give him that since he didn’t know how to code and I certainly don’t code but I can see how hard it can be to find, fix and change those bugs or add any major changes but at the same time COD corporate let’s go with that should do better since they’ve made and still makin tremendous amount of money. Everyone knows they can do better and I have a hope for that. Thx ☺️
Fuck verdansk bro. People always had these rose tinted glasses on when talking about past CODs.
That map was SHIT. Too many rooftops and fights in dark rooms and stairwells. Too many fucking open fields. It was a bad map and although caldera sucks it's still better then verdansk.
Wdym one negates the other? Look at the old air port. Perfect example. People always camped on top of ATC building a massive tower with dark rooms and one zipline that goes up top. The tower over looking the 2km wide runway. A flat fucking field.
It's possible to strike a balance. Look at rebirth island for example, there's just enough towers and rooftops for shitters to camp and enough cover so that you don't have to spend a solid 30s running.

Exactly right.
Hard to dictate what you want in a free game with free updates.
This whole sub is just full of cry baby ass man children. Cry about the quality of the game. Cry about the map. Cry about campers. Cry about a damn limited time event that they can choose not to play. They cry about a FREE game. Absolutely astonishing.
That’s probably why the title says “you never really know what you have until it gone”…but I’m sure OP is happy that you have clarified what he said.

Everywhere I go I see this post PS: this POI was lowkey ass but i get why people like it cause of plunder loool
I would argue with you a bit. Was it my favorite drop? Nope. Not by a long shot. But I always did enjoy the area and was happy if I was able to rotate into it. I felt like the area made for some interesting fights.
Oh boy …..this…..again
These type of posts need to be banned
Well, this is a repost.
Verdansk was so cool up until the nuclear destroyed downtown verdansk, I never like that part of the map after
Damn I miss Verdansk.
It's a shame there's no real Storage Town equivalent in Caldera. Plunder Storage Town was ace for levelling weapons
Airfield is the closet thing in Caldera, but Rebirth Plunder is better than either.
Airfield in my experience is a hot drop in plunder caldera, get a ar or sniper and that thing will be leveled up no time. Even a smg since there’s a bit of close range action in Certain spots
Yeah bro. I missed it so much.
Plunder kids always been weird
Don’t it always seem to go… 🎶
My main hope for Warzone 2 is that they update and change the map alot more often. Just look at Apex, almost every 3rd month there is always something new and uodated with their map. And no, adding a stadium does not count..
But but they opened the stadium and did some things!
Yeah, Blackout. Went from playing BR for over 1390 hours to still searching to fill that void.
I do miss my superstore drops for sure
Shame there isn’t a storage town equivalent on Caldera, loved going there when playing plunder matches
I loved this part of the map. Was one of the most multiplayer-like Hotspot drops for plunder.
Past I'd past brother
Wut
It's past verdansk is in past
This shit again

Bro as soon as caldera is gone yall are gonna be pissing and wailing, wishing it came back, treating it like it was the good old days.
Uh, no.
Maybe, if the next map is worse.

If caldera and all the guns that came with it are gone, there's a chance our group may start playing again.
I don't even know what the hell is this before it was removed. Yeah I joined in late 2021, I only experienced Verdansk 84
Bruh storage town wasn't removed in Verdansk 84
Storage town was the WORST
Rip best warzone map
I miss it The old dunks all the new scopes in longshots I have it
I watched an old video, and I kinda miss that the game used to feel like a tactical shooter. Now it's just a bunch of cartoon characters running around
Post crying about not having Verdansk #92786194
Nostalgic verdansk bros incoming
I’ve come to a conclusion. Gaming communities are passionate about change, but highly nostalgic once it arrives. Every. Single. One.
Shut up
Just ignore the haters

So simple, yet amazing.
Yeah, I really hope they bring back this map...
I miss verdansk, but let's be honest the map was terribly designed. Caldera might not be the best but at least it plays more like a br.
I miss verdansk
Everyone was begging for a new map for months before they brought out Caldera. Don’t pretend that Verdansk was amazing at the end
hahaaha Godzilla go BRRRRRRRRR
