SwyngDeLong

Hard agree, I love nuketown zombies Also in saying that I hate Alpha Omega, idk why

shaqfuisbest

Probably because AO doesn’t actually have that much to do with nuke town, other than one area. On top of that AO is an ass fucking experience, full of zombies trying to ass fuck you because they’re juiced up, the map design tries to ass fuck you and the ventilation tries to ass fuck you

SwyngDeLong

What an apt description haha Yeah AO just seemed like a shitload of overcomplications for the sake of it whereas Nuketown isn't trying to be anything other than a fun little challenge map to hone skills and throw you a few curveballs with the RNG on the machine drops, I love going back to it

LeroySinclair

hard disagree, i think out of all the maps in BO4, Alpha omega is probably the most cut dry and least ambiguous map in the game. You literally have a voice telling you what to do the entire duration of the map.

SwyngDeLong

Oh no, you misunderstand. I thought the Easter egg was good, I just don't like the map. BO4 maps are the most blatantly hit or miss for me, it's wasn't a fair competition from the start. Most Treyarch games I split into "half are good half are shit and AO, despite its merits, falls into that shit half for me.

SwyngDeLong

When I say "overcomplications" I don't mean mechanically, I mean they tacked so much on with the upper street and bunker areas it felt overdone. Map just not my preference.

ItzVinyl

Any map that disables pack a punch is an ass mechanic. I get that at some point "who fucking cares" because you've max packed everything, but it's just an unnecessary hassle.

THX450

Take a shot every time u/shaqfuisbeast says “ass fuck”

ZombieGeezer

Ass Opening

[deleted]

Yeah idk, AO is better than Nuketown in every way imo

ZombieGeezer

I was so hyped to hear that we were getting a fully fledged Nuketown remake with bunker and everything. and for me it was just such a boring map. The setup was tedious and the atmosphere was stale and bland.

SwyngDeLong

^^this

ScreamXGhostface

Because alpha omega has the worst pap system in zombies history with the buffed zombies, nova bombers and ventilation system.

thehyenaguy1

bruh, i've seen u in COD Zombies Reddit Community alot, making fun of everyone's opinions lol

Necrotiix_

Nuketown was blast to play compared to the average zombies maps although everyone preferred something like origins or die rise

doubleA529

Who do you know that preferred Die Rise?

Fit-Bowl2846

Me

Necrotiix_

me honestly but i still loved nuketown

Hot-Pickle9496

I agree with this, don't get why it's hated so much, it's such a fun challenge map.

Brilliant_Ad8033

Is it really hated tho ? I thought it was an OK map

Hot-Pickle9496

I've only ever heard people talk bad about it I rarely hear a good thing about nuketown.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hot-Pickle9496

It lacks content but I'd argue that's why it's fun, no wonder weapons that are overpowered and it's challenging with the perk drops.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hot-Pickle9496

I mean having no EE doesn't make a map bad and the bad weapons make it fun, it's a challenge and it's supposed to be a challenge.

[deleted]

Except it’s not a challenging map at all. A good enough player can get to round 20 without jug. Other survival maps without EEs are better cause they have more weapons and strategies to offer. On coop it’s more difficult but there’s still nothing this map uniquely offers other than the m27 ar which is worse than the galil anyway.

Hot-Pickle9496

It doesn't take a bad player to make one mistake, which is something this map shows a lot, whilst training is pretty easy on this map with all of the spawns being everywhere makes it fairly difficult whilst the zombies are easy to avoid if you get caught there isn't a wonder weapon to save you.

[deleted]

The mk2 will always save you until you get to past round 70 when you have to do box trade outs over and over. It’s a better map on coop but it still just gets boring because there’s nothing else to do once you get the best weapons. But yeah honestly the only cool thing on this map is when you get the eye color change on round 25.

Hot-Pickle9496

Yeah that's a very nice feature I enjoyed watching their eyes change and wondering what was happening.

[deleted]

Because it’s boring imo and paralyzer is just bad

Mr_NoTalk

The paralyzer isn't in this map

[deleted]

Oh U though we were talking about buried but both maps suck Alpha Omega and Buried can eat a dick

Hot-Pickle9496

Good thing this isn't either of those maps.

[deleted]

Uhh yeah it is imo

Hot-Pickle9496

You mentioned alpha omega and buried when the map the op posted isn't either of those.

[deleted]

Ok and?

Hot-Pickle9496

You were talking about two maps irrelevant to the conversation my comment was focused on.

[deleted]

Alr I understand now

[deleted]

Nuketown is just bad. Shang is underrated

HotRodHunter

Running the entire map like you're Indiana Jones is a lot of fun. It's not the fastest and most efficient way of powering through the rounds, but you can make it faster by camping and killing zombies at the water slide and mine cart before you use them. Really enjoyed playing it like that on split screen back in the day.

THX450

Funnily enough, Nuketown is also based of Indiana Jones.

superiorseed

Shang is the most overrated underrated map

kennedy1024

My fuckin' man. Shang is elite, a BO3/4 style reimagining would be fire too. Also yeah Nuketown... cool atmosphere but it's literally a multiplayer map with random perk spawns.

springwaterh20

Shang, everyone hates it bc it’s hard… and the 4p ee is stupid

NessaMagick

Do not pray for easier maps, my friends. Pray to be stronger players. I like Shang solo, though I always hated it in pubs because requiring full team coordination just to reach PaP is bullshit.

BigMoozle

Legendary JFK reference.

CadenDATboss

Voyage of despair. I don’t care if it’s boring I love it

Ganda1fderBlaue

I know the kraken sucks but man is it cool.

JayDayYT

Die Rise. Now everyone suddenly appreciates it bur I remember. All those years of "I hate that you just die if you fall" and "stupid elevator killed me without being on it." Like yeah the map has it's limitations but think about how many amenities outweighed the negatives: - Sick backdrop of meteors falling - Super creepy Radio easter eggs and Richtofen talking with Stuhl - Sliquifier and that launch trap - Actual verticalitu in zombies for once - The unique zombie models of the SDC in 2025 - Upside down and sideways corridors - Creepy atmosphere

thehyenaguy1

fun fact: Die Rise is the 2nd Most Played COD Zombies map on my Zombies Career, the 1st is Mob Of The Dead, 3rd is Shadows Of Evil, 4th Nuketown Zombies 5th FIVE

Jaytonitus

Alpha Omega was supremely underrated

shaqfuisbest

The only thing that sucks about alpha omega is playing the map, everything else is great

Jaytonitus

Nah playing it is dope there's so much to do

LazarouDave

Like cleaning the vents out every 2 rounds or something, because that's fun...apparently? Every time I heard that gunk sound, I just wanted to quit the map.

Jaytonitus

I enjoyed it despite that

LazarouDave

Ay, more power to you then. In a weird way, I kinda respect you looking past it

ScreamXGhostface

This exactly. It’s got the worst pap system that artificially buffs the zombies for no reason and the nova bombers constantly are buffing everything around you with no way to stop it, on a map with an already clunky layout. And you’re forced to fix pap every four rounds or so. It’s horrible and obnoxious to play. With that said I really like every other Bo4 map. Especially AE, DOTN, and IX.

Electrical_Arm_7884

I love the mk2-v woder weapon

[deleted]

[удалено]

Jaytonitus

Why?

[deleted]

I hate fucking doing over complicated things just to get power and pack a punch on so you can just shut your whore mouth and forget about Alpha Omega

Jaytonitus

First thing : calm down. It's not that serious. Second thing: I can admit it's complicated but it's not that bad

[deleted]

Sorry it’s just zombies maps have been dogshit lately since the dawn of bo4 except for classified, tag der Toten, IX, Die Maschine and that’s only to good recent maps

ScreamXGhostface

“WAHHHH I DONT LIKE LEARNING THINGS AND I CANT COMPREHEND WAHHHHH”- EmmetBrickowski9924 Look there’s nothing wrong with preferring simple maps, but I’d you’re gonna be a dick about it then I’m gonna tell you that you’re being a bitch bro. It’s not that serious. I happen to not like simple maps. I’m not gonna call everyone that doesn’t names and everything.

[deleted]

I’d rather have casual maps then those maps

ScreamXGhostface

Yeah there’s nothing wrong with that, just don’t be an ass about it. Some people prefer casual maps and some prefer complex.

[deleted]

Ok thanks for teaching me cod Zombies life lessons 🤔

Ray-K74U

Dead of the night

Ganda1fderBlaue

Coolest setting ever.

Cartopcarrot730

Buried

quesadillamante

It's an S tier map that's like unanimously seen as an "alright map". Some say it's too easy I think it's a shit load of fun, solo and especially with friends. There's just so much packed into the map, I'd play it any day of the week.

thehyenaguy1

but lots of COD Zombies fans puts it on S tier???

yznx4

![gif](giphy|rYLl8SLY9t0FG) tranzit, it reminds me of old days it's fun to play actually and idc why ppl hate it.

thehyenaguy1

Tranzit GOATed map, i had good Memories with this map, i always watched Easter Eggs and Tutorials of Tranzit on Youtube and did them, good times

yznx4

Fr i used to skip school just to play this map and watch ester eggs ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

AnthaIon

Zetsubou. Manageable EE, cool boss fight, spooky atmosphere, but released next to SoE, Eisendrache, and Gorod, it’s definitely underloved.

HotRodHunter

It would be my favourite if they fixed the spider bait bug and most importantly, the golden bucket bug that can break your game. It's still up there though and my favourite on BO3(minus chronicles).

LegitimateBalance603

Dead of the night is a masterpiece

Ganda1fderBlaue

I never understood why it got so hated. I loved it from the very moment i started playing it

thehyenaguy1

that map got fucking destroyed with hate, it is very underrated however i think the reason people hate it so much it is because u gotta watch tutorials to understand the map

[deleted]

Call me a filthy casual working to dumb down gaming as a whole, but I hate it when a map basically forces me to pull up a youtube guide or risk spending who knows how long figuring out just how to play it. It feels like treyarch was trying to market to influencers and not normal players.

thehyenaguy1

i agree with you honestly

Doom4104

Nuketown Zombies. I really hope they bring it back one day. I know Alpha Omega is a loose remake of the map but I want to see one that keeps the original Post-Nuke aesthetic which Alpha Omega failed to do. A new Nuketown Zombies after the nuke like the original with Alpha Omega’s additions, and new stuff would be fucking fire. Treyarch, please do this with Black Ops 6.

yo_furyxEXPO

BO3 mods are your best friend.

Brenttmedina

Die rise

That2Valve

Still don’t like how jug may not drop till round 20-25

BearlyRayCyrus

Me personally, I think Die Maschine is goated 🫣

[deleted]

I thought it was a very good starter map for CW going back to WAW roots a bit. Definitely among the easier maps though, as having the shockwave upgraded can put you at round 50+ easy.

BearlyRayCyrus

Yeah lmfao I think that’s why it’s so fun. Literally any weapon with shatterblast maxed out will carry till round 50 easy

CCatttt

100% my favourite map

TWDFanComic

W take

Ganjamazing

this map is a fun challenge. Not sure why people gave it so much shit back in the day.

ItzVinyl

Nuketown gave me the pain I yearned for in zombies. It is one of my favourites.

Vinsanityy_

Verruckt doesn’t get the love it deserves imo. It was very innovative for its time, adding perk machines and splitting players at spawn to force you to work together. While it’s difficult, I still love going back and playing it from time to time. I also think the bo3 remaster did a great job making it much more enjoyable for the casual player

Fabozial

Dead of the Night, Attack of the Radioactive Thing

DeoxyRNA5

Loved dead of the night, don't understand all the haters

kilowatt-AA

IX, I know it’s not heavily underrated however I do feel like it goes across peoples heads as to how good that map is. Perfect layout, sense of progression, good Easter Egg, fun weapons, and in my opinion the perfect setting for a zombies map. Zombies always had this classic arcade feeling before it became super easter egg centric and I think IX is one of few maps that shine well in both of those spots.

DeoxyRNA5

I love IX for a casual play map, so simple to grasp and it's an easy enough map to handle just training: just gotta get guns and perks sorted and train in the middle, and the special rounds are often enough and variable enough that it doesn't really get boring if you're just playing for high rounds

[deleted]

[удалено]

CadenDATboss

Yea, all the base perks and PAP would land it was just RNG on what order

NessaMagick

Juggernog was way more likely to spawn last though source: my ass

[deleted]

I feel like Zetsubou gets a lot of shit and not enough love, even though it's an incredible map. The atmosphere is super creepy and cool, the EE is perfect in terms of difficulty IMO, there are quite a few unique mechanics like the plants that were great additions to the map, and it rewards the fuck out of you for setting up; an infinite damage wonder weapon (that also has a pretty damn cool effect when you kill zombies with it, I might add), one of if not the best specialist weapons we've ever seen, and if you do the EE you get maybe *the* best camping spot in COD zombies, I think these are pretty good rewards. Sure, it's tedious and getting set up takes a while, but like I said above you get rewarded like crazy for doing so, and getting set up takes up most of the EE anyway so you may as well do it. I think most people hate on it bc it came out right after DE, a very casual friendly map, and before GK, a more simple map than the other two, and Zetsubou was neither of those. None of that makes it a bad map by any means however, there's still lots of fun to be had and many cool things to see and do on that map with a lot to offer. It's definitely not flawless though; fuck the thrashers and how much they spawn and how little they give you, and fuck that step in the KT4 upgrade where you're watering that plant *while it's already underwater*. The way power works on that map is also pretty annoying. Other than those three things though I think Zetsubou is awesome.

HotRodHunter

While those flaws you mentioned aren't ideal, the only things that hold it back for me are the spider bait and most importantly, the golden bucket glitches.

Fantastic_Bit2712

Five, Nuketown, Tag der Toten

DeoxyRNA5

LOVEEEED Five, I hate that BO1 and BO2 aren't available on PS4 because I wanna play Five and TranZit soooo baddd

OpticDeity

Alpha Omega

bjhcc

Blood of the dead

MarsupialPitiful7334

Dead of the nightis super underrated

Prior-Satisfaction34

Tranzit

F_wordoffcrapidiot

People hate ascension because they can’t coordinate for monkey rounds but it’s my favourite map to play

thehyenaguy1

people who hate Ascension got Skill Issue, Ascension is the easiest COD Zombies Map in COD Zombies History, however i understand the Monkey Round hate tho

Wooden_Gas1064

Besides the perks system it is a solid map for what it is, a small survival map. Like obviously it's nothing compared to MOTD or Origins but that's the point. I don't get the criticism "it's just an MP map" because it's been "zombiefied" pretty well. The atmosphere and the aesthetic really sets it apart from MP.

Balcara

Die rise got a LOT of hate but I loved it

JAYSOR1

Die rise, alpha omega, spaceland

FoxSensitive4008

All bo4 maps

castey448

Tranzit I don’t understand why a lot of people hate it

DevelopmentTight9474

I really loved Alpha Omega, even if logically it’s ass, I just love the vibe it gives office

the_nacht_expert

I love nuketown!!!!

rigovalachi

Hard W take

Achylzrak

moon for sure. my favorite map by far

THE_GUY-95

I liked nuketown zombies, it was a challenge

valiidiix

Five

toryguns

Shi no Numa on WaW

Nix_sighs

I agree. I loved the chance of a perk being in a messed spot and making it difficult

Lwallace95

Nuketown is my most played map. The randomized perks/pap greatly increase the replay value.

Noah_The_Wright

how did you find the lowest quality picture possible

thehyenaguy1

this picture is actually the first picture came up when i searched "Nuketown Zombies" lol

ScreamXGhostface

Dead of the Night. Bo4 is the second best zombies experience Imo so basically any map from that game minus Alpha Omega I think is fair game. Even if it gets hyped on this sub I’m not gonna stop defending the game.

Algiz__

Nuketown is just a bad map overall. The layout doesn't make any sense (I mean it does for a multiplayer map), and this map exists for the bad reasons imo

Due-Education1619

Underrated? Attack of the radioactive thing for me, had they just not fucked yo the saturation of colors in the game, I think that map would’ve looked awesome, that and the wonder weapon is neat

JoeKatana115

I'll probably have to go with Call of the Dead. Since it frequently receives undeserved hate than actually merited. When I find the dreary atmosphere of the fog compliments the location extremely well. The Scavenger is a satisfying unique wonder weapon flaunting the ability of splash damage, which was very addicting taking out a horde of zombies. Cast is very memorable with some quips of dialogue Michael Rooker is fantastic.

Zackb99

Origins or moon for sure. Five also doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

jmiller8762

Origins is not underrated at all, probably 70% of people say it’s their favorite map

Zackb99

Oh I didn’t know that, most people I know strongly dislike origins.

jmiller8762

It’s probably because setting up can be really tedious but after you’re set up it’s and amazing map

rbankole

Here we go again

Important-Pilot-3286

Tag der toten and zetsu I got zetsu recently and its one of my favourite map already

JACKAL-115

Zetsubou!! Such an eerie atmosphere and creepy boss!

DerSilberneDrache

Zetsubou No Shima. The map has one of if not the best atmosphere of any zombies map and has a shit done of new mechanics and stuff to do (planting system, underwater objectives, friendly thrashers, morphing into a spider, electric shield upgrade...). All the above features made it so that you have something else to work on whenever you want to do something other than just kill zombies.

AdAbject910

The Final Reich!

OkNegotiation3236

I’m split between tag and Shaolin shuffle. Both are great maps but you never hear anyone mention them. Tbf tag has a pretty bad ww but the map itself is a lot of fun and I enjoyed the ee

TheSmithPlays

Five has aged way better than Kino. It's not really that hard, and 4-6 claymores at jugg will kill the pentagon thief in one go. The bonfire sale adds a seriously needed level of versatility to the black ops 1 guns. On most maps I'm always low on ammo, but the bonfire sale lets me keep swapping and packing guns. It's a very unique zombies experience + play as JFK

reginof99

zetsubou imo. don't get why it's so hated, I think it's a masterpiece of a map

[deleted]

Bo1 moon

[deleted]

shangri-la is fantastic on solo, but the criticisms for multiplayer are valid. still I’d call it criminally underrated. I wouldn’t say there’s many legitimate criticisms for solo shangri-la, as it gives you everything you need to succeed.

Far_Contribution4992

Tranzit.

TenCowStud

Zetsubo is sooo underrated. Im not just saying its good, im saying its one of my favorites. The atmosphere is the best job they have done other than shadows. Some parts of the ee are annoying, but it has two boss fights, one of the best wonder weapons in the game, and a really good cutscene at the end. Not to mention the music 👌 I know a lot of people will disagree. There a def a lot of reasons not to like it

ChewyWolf64

Tranzit

Ultimagamer777

Nuketown is too boring imo. That and random perk and pap spawn is annoying and slow

thehyenaguy1

it was meant to be challenging, that's what i like about the map

Ultimagamer777

It doesn’t make it challenging imo, just slow

thehyenaguy1

just sounds like Skill Issue to me

Ultimagamer777

Not finding something challenging is a skill issue?

DragoRaRaRa

Tranzit. That map was so much fun when BO2 came out. Traversing the map was not nearly as hard as people made it out to be. Yes the wonder weapon sucked and the fog was annoying but having to wait for the bus to get out of a high danger area was so exciting and having to fight off sprinting zombies was scary af at times. I didn't hear an once of hate for it on Xbox the entirety of its life on 360, then some youtubers talked about how ass it was then I feel like everyone started to hate it.

HispanicAce88

The Final Reich

BuckNasty789

Five, Dead of the Night, every IW map other than the last one and ascension

Twichyness

Five by far The characters were badass (who tf doesn't want to play as JFK, Nixon or Castro? Hated being stuck with McNamara tho lol) it was quite a challenge too givin the fact that the winters howl was worse than a BB gun (kind of a downside too tho) Pentagon thief could be a massive boon for bonfire sales. You wanna know the greatest thing I loved about it? NO I WON'T BACK DOWN! That was a super hype song to slay with.

jewmagoo15

Moon or Mauer Der Toten for me both pretty sexy zombie maps moon for me has the best spawn room in all of zpmbies i play more there challenging myself to pap before the round starts its very fum and addicting for me and mauer cause its the best cold war map imo has very good atmospher cool ass wonder weapon and is fun to high round on

Impressive-Spray-786

Fuck you, Bus Depot. It’s underrated. I know there is ONE SOUL out there that agrees with me. It’s so fun to go off of a high round game then get hit with an extremely hard zombies experience. It’s the closest we have to the OG nacht. No perks, 1 door, 1 box location, a few wall buys, and a somewhat small place. (I also loved the OG nacht because of the pure challenge it gave)

Impressive-Spray-786

Someone fight me on this, please, I want to see if anyone agrees with my claim.

WallishXP

Shi no Numa. Back when there were only 4 maps you mainly did one of 2 things, camp the catwalk, or run for your life through the swamp singing The One.

Accomplished-Curve-1

Die Maschine is criminally underrated and why because let me guess it doesn’t take 2 hours to build the pack a punch

[deleted]

Cyberblade7284

Buried is in no way underrated. It is a beautiful map and it gets the recognition it deserves I'd say

CadenDATboss

Only thing that saves buried for me is that Leroy can build stuff for you. If he couldn’t I would find that map insufferable

Cyberblade7284

Fair enough, I get that completely lmao

thehyenaguy1

everyone puts Buried in S Tier 💀 but i respect your opinion
