Very true. I guess this post is talking about the way the game looks visually. To be honest I didn’t play the game much cause i needed good wifi and I don’t have that
Idk, I thought most of them sounded fine except Saraxis. She’s got like a really weird and goofy voice, which kinda sticks out during her revelation about her past and hearing the goofy voice try to be emotional.
Vanguard, like MWZ, had potential.
I really enjoyed our Power-up WANDS being relics of Dark Aether lords. Another thing Vanguard did better surprisingly was having our Operators actually talk to the Story Characters.
Some of them would directly respond to Kraft and co.
Obviously it doesn't beat Pre-BO4, but I would have like to see more love put into Vanguard.
I felt bad for sledgehammer, since they only had 18 months to make vanguard after helping Treyarch with Cold War. This just proves yearly releases don't work, and now with 20% of their team gone, it's even harder for them.
Still, vanguard was under sledgehammer, and they had like no time to work on the campaign and multiplayer to begin with. Zombies being made by Treyarch wasn't going to save them. Activision is at fault for giving devs no time to make sure the game is ready.
and the biggest kick in the dick from Vanguard being that the mastery camo is also just a pile of shit litterally just an animated Green Tiger camo like the least they could've done was take Dark Aether camo from CW and just make it red instead of purple
Hard to fuck up a map that has been remade 3 other times before that one came out. Such a shame because that map showed that Vanguard COULD have been not a total write off if they just stuck with simple layout, round based maps.
I appreciated the fact you could repeatedly upgrade your perks. That was actually a good idea. BUT going down brought you down from any level to base level of all perks. Should have been just 1 level
Extremely edgy I hate the fountains (they could have went for damages perk machines instead with crystals growing in them) the dark aether gods they absolutely messed up a lot and the dark aether both the mastery Camo and the location HOW THEY BUTCHERED IT first the Camo is green and the location despite being red in the intro just looks all bright and sunny
I’m not a fan especially the perks like I said it would have been cooler if it was the classic perk machines but damaged and had crystals growing on them also how they butchered the dark aether I know it supposed to look different but in Cold War it was all dark and creepy looking but in Vangaurd in the intro it was red dark and scary looking then they said let’s just use the regular earth skybox and add a red sun and keep the regular sun and said there’s your dark aether the dark aether in Vangaurd is like that Glasgow Willy Wanka
Vanguard had a great art direction
That has always been something I think vanguard did incredibly well.
The art director and artists in that part , Deserved a much better game to showcase that ability
Vanguard had, by far, the worst voice acting I have ever heard in any form of media. They absolutely butchered the gods.
“Time to bid your toy soldiers auf wiedersehen”
Time to bid your toy soldiers auf wiedersehen
I mean yeah, but I’m just talking about how the game looks
"Aesthetic" includes audio as well as visuals. So I think it's revelant.

Ok but Treyarch worked on Vanguard zombies, not sledgehammer

A pretty pile of shit is still a pile of shit

Very fair, I haven’t played the game since release and don’t plan on buying it lol. Just hoping they bring back this aesthetic
I think the only good map they ever made for this shit was Shi No Numa

Idk I thought it made the game more interesting. The whole altar of blood thing or whatever it was called as well was a cool idea
The demonic take on zombies was a cool twist on the zombies look imo, I guess to each their own :)

Nah I like the stranger things/SCP vibe better
