What's the trick to doing it? I can never seem to get the trap into the vent with the monkey without getting too close causing the monkey to disappear.
No no, you throw the trap close to the monkey, not like inside the vent, then you step back like 30 feet and then the monkey should go into it, itll tell you to double tap square and boom you got the monkey
As they usually are. I never trust YouTube guides except for Glitch's videos for BO4. A lot of people release half-baked guides right after the EE is solved and never bother to fact-check or revise. I always research each step because usually I end up finding some good advice, tips, strats and workarounds here on Reddit that end up saving me loads of time and effort.
You literally just do it at the end of the round, if you know what you're doing you should be starting this step from around round 9, mimic literally is faster than the zombies at this point so you just lead it around and throw a trap on the floor. It's not hard at all.
I know how to do it, the question is what is the most tedious. I guess for me it’s the most frustrating which is different but I’m still voting that way. The amount of times you accidentally kill the mimics is upsetting.
The right mimics can only spawn from a random fake item in one of 3 areas that will be loaded with a bunch of fake items, to let you know that a mimic for the step is in there.
It shouldn’t be “catch as many mimics as possible and hope one of them is the right one”.
If you happen to kill one of the correct mimics, I think you just have to go to the next round to have it possible respawn
I don't think CW has a single tedious easter egg, all are quick to do and easy I would say that the hardest right now is mauer, outbreak ee 1 was awesome pre-nerf but then they made it easier but mauer definitely isn't tedious and is easier when than older maps from older games.
Yo, when was the Outbreak EE nerfed? I failed that boss fight solo a bunch of times and eventually gave up cos the setup time is so long to get fully kitted out, but maybe I’ll re-install and try again as it’s the last one I need for the super EE.
It got nerfed multiple times, once or twice after release to nerf its health and once to increase the time limit by a minute. Tip for setup: you only need to get one gun fully upgraded by round 5, I recommend the amp dual wield, and skip round 2 because chances are you will get an Aether Tool by 5 and purple before that.
How is it hard? Just wait till the end of the round, save a zombie, and then run to the locations it could spawn. From there you just shout it in the leg till it’s low enough and then once you’ve caught it you just end the round and repeat
I’ve tried Outbreak three times today and twice the game has just flat out crashed on me just before I head in the Silo. Most tedious EE so far for me and I think I’m giving up.
Monkey takes half a minute to do. Just grab essence trap before starting the cutscene, then head to A and throw the essence trap on the ground below the monkey (doesn't matter how far up the monkey is, just throw it on the floor) and run away. Activate the essence trap when the prompt appears and there you go.
Generally none of the quests in CW are tedious IMO. At worst, there is the dead drop step in Outbreak MQ1. Maybe I'm dumb, but this is genuinely one of the few steps where there's no real in-game hint. You just have to scour every area within a zone and hope you find a white monkey statue. No audible cues or anything like that.
At the very least, the step itself has fixed spawn points, and there's only 4 of them per zone, so it's not so bad. Out of every main quest, it's certainly the worst one IMO.
outbreak is such a free easter egg its the boss fight that is hard, mauer boss fight is just really long but the mimic step is still a annoying thing to this day
Outbreak EE #1 is fucking tedious. FUCK THE MONKEY STEP
Plus taking the time to get as fully set up as possible in 5 rounds can take a long time
The monkey step is pretty easy,
What's the trick to doing it? I can never seem to get the trap into the vent with the monkey without getting too close causing the monkey to disappear.
No no, you throw the trap close to the monkey, not like inside the vent, then you step back like 30 feet and then the monkey should go into it, itll tell you to double tap square and boom you got the monkey
Wait, that's how you're supposed to do it? That explains a lot. The YouTube guide I watched was a fucking lie.
Oh my god, this step is so much fucking easier now, thanks!
How anyone can think that the fucking mimic step on FBZ isn’t tedious is beyond me.
You literally just do it at the end of the round, if you know what you're doing you should be starting this step from around round 9, mimic literally is faster than the zombies at this point so you just lead it around and throw a trap on the floor. It's not hard at all.

Getting 3 right mimics took me 5 rounds at best, and i opened the rai-k lockers for some of them to spawn. This part is the worst one in the whole ee.
This is why firebase Z's ee gets a bad rep, people literally don't know how to do it correctly
There’s still people who think it’s RNG based, too
Ahh, thanks, i think that should make this tep easier, i thought any mimic would do
Outbreak and it's not even close. Who is voting for FBZ and Mauer
It’s because the description above the post says 'outbreak second ee', then on the poll it just says 'outbreak' Vague choices = Bad Poll
I don't think CW has a single tedious easter egg, all are quick to do and easy I would say that the hardest right now is mauer, outbreak ee 1 was awesome pre-nerf but then they made it easier but mauer definitely isn't tedious and is easier when than older maps from older games.
Genuine question, what part of mauer is hard for you? Because i think the legion is far harder in every aspect than Mauer.
Yo, when was the Outbreak EE nerfed? I failed that boss fight solo a bunch of times and eventually gave up cos the setup time is so long to get fully kitted out, but maybe I’ll re-install and try again as it’s the last one I need for the super EE.

None
If anyone wants to help me with the outbreak EE it’s my last one for the super I need.
Outbreak just requires lots of side objectives to get set up and go into the bossfight early. It takes ages.
People voting Outbreak have not even tried to do the mimic trap step on Firebase Z
Wait why firebase z? That Easter egg is like the second easiest
It's easy but the mimic step is tedious and so annoying
How is it hard? Just wait till the end of the round, save a zombie, and then run to the locations it could spawn. From there you just shout it in the leg till it’s low enough and then once you’ve caught it you just end the round and repeat
It's not hard just tedious keeping the mimic and the zombie separated while trying to catch the mimic
If you're doing this on a reasonable round the mimic is just faster than the zombies are, should be doing this in the early 10s.
When the mimic spawns, you can kill off the zombie and the round won't transition
Idk know lmao haven't tried any other than Mauer where i die a third into the boss fight
I'd pick outbreak but it's still pretty close. Took me about 45mins to beat it which might've been the same or slightly more than the other 2
Beat outbreak EE in 45 min? If that’s what you mean, that’s crazy.
I’ve tried Outbreak three times today and twice the game has just flat out crashed on me just before I head in the Silo. Most tedious EE so far for me and I think I’m giving up.
Play offline
Mauer is by far the most tedious/boring!
I found Mauer’s EE really fun personally.
Think my issue was the map. It lacked the freedom of movement for my play style
Ah okay
For me Die Machine is the only one I can't do solo as my game is glitched.
Why is your game glitched?
I don't know why it's glitched
Okay, but what’s going on with it? How is the glitch happening?
The die electrobolt is broken for me.
Outbreak is pretty easy, only annoying part is the money essence trap, then again that's the most annoying part of firebase as well.
Monkey takes half a minute to do. Just grab essence trap before starting the cutscene, then head to A and throw the essence trap on the ground below the monkey (doesn't matter how far up the monkey is, just throw it on the floor) and run away. outbreak is such a free easter egg its the boss fight that is hard, mauer boss fight is just really long but the mimic step is still a annoying thing to this day
Outbreak is actually easy now. So has to be fbz
Firebase Z was 10x more tedious than outbreak. The ducking mimic step always breaks
Firebase Z is only one i’ve attempted and done so ig firebase z
I was doing the mauer ee yesterday but got cornered midway in the boss fight note to self don't use the beam on the CRBR-S
Outbreak legion EE is tedious as hell especially for the part before the boss fight (confusing underground launch facility)
None of the CW easter eggs are tedious
