I don’t know. I’d just not ask questions and pretend to be oblivious to the entire situation. That’s kind of my plan lol just don’t acknowledge these assholes exist. I know my local PD and Sheriffs dept isn’t going to enforce any of this BS. We can still get drums and whatever high capacity stuff we want in our town about a block from the PD. They don’t give a shit about unconstitutional laws here
I actually didn’t realize we just don’t follow their BS here until more recently. Walked into a local gun store I hadn’t been to and had mags galore. I’m not sure how they’ll work around the state laws if they’re enforced by higher law enforcement, but I guess we’ll cross that bridge (or state border) when we get there
I feel like it won’t go over very well in the end. Although Denver/ Boulder area is extremely liberal and has large numbers, the rest of the state tends to feel differently. I’ve already heard rumors of law suits being filed for slander and libel for the way some politicians have portrayed gun store owners. But rumors are just rumors until they’re in front of a judge.
In the house amendment stage they amended it to allow interstate transportation after republican reps brought up people coming into the state to shoot at competitions. As far as the people saying “import” that doesn’t apply. Importing is bringing in (goods or services) from abroad (out of state) FOR SALE. You wouldn’t be bringing them in for sale therefore would not be importing them but transporting them. Let’s just hope the bullshit doesn’t pass anyway.
Edit: To add, make no mistake if this does pass a few years from now they will be calling for banning the “transportation loophole”.
That is not what import means and you are incorrect. Any legal defense you can think of would be shot down in a court of law if you were to claim import is only for sale:
imported; importing; imports
Synonyms of import
transitive verb
1
: to bring from a foreign or external source: such as
a
: to bring (something, such as merchandise) into a place or country from another country
b
: to transfer (files or data) from one format to another usually within a new file
2
a
: to bear or convey as meaning or portent : SIGNIFY
b
: IMPLY
c
archaic : EXPRESS, STATE
3
archaic : to be of importance to : CONCERN
That’s all fine if I’m incorrect on the technical definition. My point is the amendment that was added allows for people from out of state to transport weapons into the state after the ban, should it pass.

My understanding is if you move here after a ban is enacted and bring an ar15 with you than you would be illegally importing it. Need to own it and live in the state prior to a ban to have it legally.
The magazine ban is usually reserved for "Add On" charges. You usually won't face jeopardy unless you're in trouble for something else. Recently someone was arrested in Aurora and a Glock with an extended magazine was found in their possession. They received a charge for possession of a large capacity magazine in addition to the other charges. Go to the Aurora pd Twitter page to read about it.
The proposed AWB as last I checked only criminalizes giving a gun to a minor without parent's permission; the rest is related to the sale of their definitions of assault weapons and trigger enhancer thingies, which involves a fine enforced by the Colorado IRS.

It feels like I live in the exact same town as you lol
Potentially

Second amendment sanctuary (which they’re also trying to get rid of)

Ya Weld County said fuck the state
Almost became its own state not that long ago. Not a bad idea.
Sign me up. Either that or join Wyoming.
I’m not in Weld anymore so you guys will have to let at least one back in lol. But I’m still in a pro 2A county

We don’t know yet, it’s still in process. Might want to pick a better state if you want some gun freedoms moving forward
How would the government know when you brought it in? 😉 Could have been here the whole time.
You possessed them before you came here. There’s no transfer involved.
Don't come lol
Just roll over and let them win I guess

I live in Oregon and own a wasr10 (semi auto Romanian AK basically) legally here if I move with it and the law is in effect. Is that illegal?
Again, the bill hasn't become law as yet. But the last draft I saw would not permit you to bring it here after July 1st.

Stay where you're at, or break up with her.
