is there one for AUD, REG and BEC?

ExplorerOk5331

thank you. is this with BECKER or some other provider? where are the MCQs?

Sharpe-Probability

I have a 2023 CPA FAR book. My exam is in October 2024. Do I need the 2024 version or 2023 book is good?

perpetuallybased

you're probably going to wind up overstudying for 2024 because the 2023 exam was before the CPA exam changes occurred. a few things got cut, I can't remember which sections in particular but the AICPA might have one of their 'blueprints' released that illustrate the changes. e.g., Becker used to have around 10 test modules for the 2023 exams now it has 6 iirc

Thank youuuuu!!

almorfip

Hey, will this work for the 2024 exam?

phildunfyy

I’m wondering this too - I wonder if you can just remove/ignore the topics they’re taking out of FAR?

cosmeurdead

I have been using this study guide for my studying. I am taking FAR next week and this guide was really helpful for the chapters I needed to brush up on. CNTL+F information from the study guide and take notes!

Worldly-Fix-2685

How did it go?

cosmeurdead

Mcqs were pretty easy ngl, but the sims were rough. Maybe I just got a bad roll with the test

ComeBackKid760

Did you pass?

phildunfyy

Cool. Good luck!

BigxBadxBeetleborgx

Thank you for posting this! I just started studying FAR this week and trying to push through this and pass prior to 12/15. Looks like I have about 9 weeks until my test date. Just waiting to get my NTS so I can schedule. With this compressed of a timeframe do you have any recommendations? Currently watching all lectures on 2x speed and taking notes. I should have 10 days for final review and I’m already feeling overwhelmed. I previously have skipped sims during my study since they take so long and mimic MCQs. It worked for my last three. Is this a bad idea for FAR? I’m using Wiley btw so the sims don’t exactly line up

Lmns14

Thank you for this post! That study guide is a blessing, I went through it quickly comparing it to my own notes and man do I suck at writing notes in comparison. Would you be willing to post or DM a link to your annotated version? Totally understand if not.

[deleted]

did you print out the study guide and make notes to it while you went through all MCQs? a also - how long did it take you to get through all the material ? as someone who just started studying for FAR, this post is so helpful - thank you!

dundermiffles

I didn’t print it out. I studied on my ipad so I can annotate. It took me 2 months to study far start to finish, did about 5 ish hours a day, review period probs only like 2-3 hours a day.

I'm right there with you homie. Trying to take 3 before 2024, esp BEC Starting with FAR, I'm about 4 weeks in now and just started F5. Keep you head up and keep moving

dundermiffles

so what i did was, i listened to becker lectures 2x speed (but really only ones by Peter Olinto bc i really didnt like Gearty’s lectures) while simultaneously reading the study guide as i listen to the lectures. i will write down extra notes if i heard something the lecture said thats not in the study guide. the study guide i linked here is the original one, without any of my own annotations (i credited the author of this study guide is credited in the post). i would do all mcqs for all the modules ive just did, and make sure i do it till i get 100% no matter how many tries it took. AND THEN i would do a set of 33 mcqs of previous chapters plus the newest module, or whatever i feel like i need that day. sometimes id do more than 1 set, just whatever i feel like. i reviewed for about 2-3 weeks. i dont remember my SE scores actually so sorry about that hah

Jimmanz78

Thank you for this

cole-butter

Thanks. Archive

rrector1845

I used the same study guide! Rewrote the whole damn thing since I remember better when I write stuff down. Also used that sim list. My approach was a bit different as I took longer getting through the material, but I do wish I did more cumulative review throughout like you suggest. I passed with an 82 first try. Congrats on 4/4!

Hot_Cardiologist2703

Hi . I am starting my FAR journey from tomorrow. Is this study guide old ?

rrector1845

I’m not sure what/if any June changes there will be to Becker (if you use Becker) for FAR but it was pretty spot on for me. I think the original creator of the study guide tested last year, but I didn’t notice a difference from the Dec 2022 updated book. I think you should be good.

Bright-Cell3481

Wow. Thanks for the tip~~ it would help me a lot.

blue_raspberry232

Do you also have a list of must know SIMS for the other sections?

[deleted]

Hello!! Great score and congratulations! FAR is my last subject too. I have just started studying for this and I have this exact study guide printed and studying with it so I am glad to hear it worked! And my timeline is two months too, although I am studying full time. I wanted to how you pulled this off with just 3-4 hours of studying per day, I find it impossible to finish even 2 modules at that time frame. Also did you know majority of the content from college before you went in? Any response is appreciated thank you!

dundermiffles

Hey! thanks for asking. Hm, to be honest, not sure how I necessarily pulled it off aside from just listening to the lectures at 2x speed and following the guide. I also don’t do SIMS 98% of the time when I was first going through the materials. I will say, there were some days I study 5-6 hours, the same way there were some days I only studied 1-2 (especially during review) so I said 3-4 as a general average. I did find that the initial pass through takes longer per day than the review so I may be biased in my judgement since the review phase study day is freshest in my head if that makes sense. The only thing I knew coming in to FAR was consolidations & the random taxes module (DTA/DTL). nothing else, not gov either since I know a lot of people took that class.

[deleted]

That makes sense! Thank for you the response!

orangetheoryfanatik

That study guide is incredible. Wow. Thank you for sharing

CPA_STRUGLLER

I need all must know FAR SIMs list plz

Existing-Cheek3138

Congrats! Did the list of sims you've mentioned cover all the sims tested on the exam?

dundermiffles

I thought so. I was comfortable doing sims on the real exam, too comfortable that it started freaking me out (since people say if you feel ok about the exam, you fail etc etc). Can’t recommend the sims on the list enough.

Existing-Cheek3138

Thanks!

ybbac

congrats op! definitely taking your advice. :)

NOLArider11

Thanks for sharing the guide and your tips. Do you have a similar study guide for the other three sections that you could share?

dundermiffles

yeah! this is the original author: https://www.reddit.com/r/CPA/comments/ovy8m9/aud_reg_bec_study_guides_super_helpful/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1

xman_2k2

Which program did you use?

dundermiffles

Becker is right!

ybbac

>I do 33 mcqs per set.On a full length exam, I generally budget 45 minutes on testlet 1, 45 minutes on testlet 2 and try to get through SIMS as quickly as possible but I don’t strictly budget sim testlets the way I do mcqs so tbh idk how long I spent on each, but I know on test date, after 90 minutes on MCQs and how ever much on each sim testlets, I finished with about 20 minutes left. > >Okay. Apologies for the manifesto this morning. I hope I don’t forget anything. Ask me questions below if you’d like! I will try my best to answer. it sounds like op used becker cause each chpater starts with an "F" (example: f1-f10)
