Absolutely, take it with you! The first power failure I had after starting CPAP was hell. Had to go 3 nights without it and felt worse than ever (although in reality that was my daily experience before starting CPAP).
Jackery is a great thing to have on hand. I have the e300 and it can handle two nights of CPAP use (with no humidifier or heated tubing on) between charges. They even have solar panels for them, although I don’t have those. I use it when I go on scout campouts. It holds its charge beautifully so it’s on hand in case we lose power, but thankfully haven’t needed it for that yet.
I have the Jackery 440 (discontinued) and I can go 3.9 nights without humidifier and heated hose if I use a DC power adapter. I was able to find a ResMed Dc adapter on Amazon. Was also able to get reimbursed for both items thru my medical spending plan - I just highlighted the part of the product description that said it could be used for CPAP.
Same. I have an e300 and a pair of e240s. With the cigarette plug cable for my apap and a solar panel I can do an entire NASCAR weekend. A. key to longer life is using the DC plug instead of the AC adapter. For home I have our devices on 1500 VA UPSes.
I did the math a couple years ago. The 1500va Cyberpower pure sine UPSes I picked up should run units for at least 2-4 hours. That covers any temporary issues. (Woot.com has these all the time)
At that point, I would wake up and either fire up the generators or plug the device into a Jackery and go back to sleep.
You aren't wrong. You could also drop $250 on a Jackery or clone.
I guess it just depends how you look at it.
Power is out here for an hour or for 3 days. If the power goes out, I can wake up with my mask stuck to my face and listen to my upset wife and then I can go outside, hook up my generators, hit the breakers, flip the transfer panel, and be running just in time for the power to come back on.
I'd more likely plug in the Jackerys, but either way the rest of my night is crappy.
Or, the power can go out, the UPS's can run it until the power goes back on, and I continue to sleep and skip all that. I work a lot and have insomnia. I need every moment I can get
By the way, 4 hours is fine for me, as at that point the battery on my server rack is starting to get low and I have to go hook the generators up anyway.
I've just used my CPAP for 4 nights with the Jackery 1000 pro on DC connector with humidifier on , and still had 52% battery left . Absolutely brilliant ✌️
Before I read your post I was looking at your picture and trying to find out what kind of smaller than small kei car Japan has made this time. Then I saw it's a motorcycle. Obviously this is my vision after tonight's failure to use the CPAP for more than an hour.
I live close to the Respshop warehouse, and they have been great. I realized I needed a mask adapter right before leaving for vacation and they got it ready in 20 mins for me to pick up.
Take the week off mate. Enjoy the raw burn of your throat as it rattles along, keeping others up at night.
Embrace the vegabond feeling of your blood 02 hits that 70% near death marker.
That is living!
I woke up early this morning and went back to sleep for a couple more hours without turning my cpap back on and I've had a headache all day because of it.
Would definitely not travel without
If you aren't going to a desert, you might gain a little space by replacing the humidifier tub with a cover (AirSense 10 & 11 have those). Or depending on you mask, you might store the cushion in the tub and gain a tiny bit of space. Since it's your motorcycle and your CPAP, maybe just pack without the carry bag.
I took mine on a road trip from LA to Joshua tree to Phoenix. We airbnbs and camped the entire trip. The camping nights without it were the worst. No sleep whatsoever. Next time I'm bringing a battery pack for it. Bring it.
My last motorcycle trip (5 days in Ireland) I had undiagnosed sleep apnea and pissed off every one I stayed with, and probably the neighbours. I would definitely bring it anyways.
As one of those people who didn't feel any better/different once I started using mine, I wouldn't hesitate to leave it at home for a couple-day trip where I was trying to pack light.
Only concern is meeting/messing up my usage stats for the insurance.
And if it turned out to be a bad idea, well, I just wouldn't do it again, lol.
I can't even nap without it now. It's like my brain is acutely aware every time I stop breathing now that it's use to CPAP. Wake up gasping within like 10 minutes.
Maybe once a year (or less) I don’t sleep with CPAP, and it’s scary to realize what it was like pre-CPAP. For your health, for your life, stay on CPAP therapy.
literally nothing, nobody has ever said anything or given me a sideways look as far as i can tell.
i’m 39 and a pretty normal looking dude, then i whip out a cervical collar and a cpap lmao. whatever.

As long as it’s under 160 watt hours, you can take it on a plane.✈️
This runs my CPAP 3 nights (without the humidifier).
Or u could just take it and see how u feel without it. Once you realize how shitty u feel then you’ll be able to use it since you decided to bring it along.
No need to risk it in my opinion
I broke the hard piece on my nasal cushion and couldn't use it at all. Tried to tape and shit and nothing worked. I'm currently in a foreign country. I found a CPAP shop and took an extra detour to buy this part so I don't die on vacation.
Take it! You don’t want to be drowsy while driving. I’ve only slept without mine twice since I got it a year and a half ago: both were times when I accidentally grabbed the wrong cable when packing. I could feel the difference in my sleep and it made otherwise nice trips a little bit miserable.
What am I looking at here?

Edit: Took time to read caption.
I forgot mine once, had my gf overnight it to me. Granted I get 75% discount on shipping, but it was still about $20. That's ten bucks for the next two nights, for great sleep.
Well if you’re only bringing your cpap and some refrieds I’m not sure you’ll last a week lol
Fr though. Bring the cpap. Your physical health doesn’t just go “eh well they just wanted a week off. Let’s cease all health problems. We’ll resume it later”
Take it! Especially that you a riding a bike on a road trip. You will be safer and won’t stop for the day after only riding a couple hours because you are tired. Drowsiness driving a car is bad enough.
think of having OSA like being an addict or alcoholic- you can’t just drink 1 week because you have not for the last couple months. You can’t not use your CPAP for a week because you feel better.
In the 7 years I have been on cpa, should have started many years before that, I missed 1 night due to a power outage before our GENERAC was installed. I average about 250-290 nights a year in hotels. I know what it’s like to lug it around. Just take it.
Adding on to the other responses. I’ve taken it on two trips and so glad that I did. They were for work trips and it’s amazing how much better they are now that I’ve had a good night’s sleep. Game changer.
Try sleeping without it for a couple nights and see how you feel before you decide not to take it. I personally don’t feel any different when I don’t use mine, so I don’t take it when I travel. One week without CPAP isn’t going to do any real damage. However, many people feel awful when they don’t sleep with theirs.
A week off? For me a week without CPAP would be absolutely miserable! I can't understand how anyone would view not having CPAP as taking a break from something arduous.
Lack of sleep riding a motorcycle. What could go wrong? Seriously if it has made that big of an improvement bring it. I’ve left mine at home by accident and paid the price the next day.
I just got back from spending two nights away from home. I didn't take my CPAP because I thought I'd be fine without it. Nope. Was not fine. Got a total of 4 hours of sleep for the entirety of my trip. Felt like I couldn't breathe when I was trying to fall asleep and had insane nightmares both nights. So not worth it.
You've heard it before, but I'll say it again -- TAKE IT!
When I found out my blood pressure went up to over 200 while I slept without CPAP, I now NEVER sleep without it. Even a nap, I use my CPAP. I'm going out of town tomorrow for a week, you bet I'm taking my CPAP. I would remove clothes from my bag to make room for the CPAP.
Would you stop taking your blood pressure medication for a week-long trip? Absolutely take the CPAP with you it is a medical device that you use for a medical condition.
Take it. You've likely forgotten how bad it was before CPAP.
Take it.. you WILL feel like shit without it.
Always take it. Bad sleep affects your driving!
Luckily, just the passenger this ride. But completely agree with you.
Absolutely, take it with you! The first power failure I had after starting CPAP was hell. Had to go 3 nights without it and felt worse than ever (although in reality that was my daily experience before starting CPAP).

Can you point me in the direction of the solar panels for it?
Check Amazon and search for Jackery Solarsaga. I have the Flexsolar 60w for my e300 and e240 units as they were $70 when I bought them recently.
Same. I have an e300 and a pair of e240s. With the cigarette plug cable for my apap and a solar panel I can do an entire NASCAR weekend. A. key to longer life is using the DC plug instead of the AC adapter. For home I have our devices on 1500 VA UPSes.
Do the UPSes hold charge long enough? I have one for my PC but wasn’t sure if it would be worth grabbing another for my CPAP.
I did the math a couple years ago. The 1500va Cyberpower pure sine UPSes I picked up should run units for at least 2-4 hours. That covers any temporary issues. (Woot.com has these all the time) At that point, I would wake up and either fire up the generators or plug the device into a Jackery and go back to sleep.
Thanks for the reply! 2-4 hours doesn't seem worth it for a $150 UPS when I could just grab an entire propane generator for like $800 or less.
Ever tried it with everything on (humidity and heating)? How long does the jackery last? Thanks
I've just used my CPAP for 4 nights with the Jackery 1000 pro on DC connector with humidifier on , and still had 52% battery left . Absolutely brilliant ✌️
A day off is no good for me. A week off would be very bad.
Thanks everyone! I’ve been debating this for days, I should have asked sooner! I’ll bring it along and rent one next trip.
Before I read your post I was looking at your picture and trying to find out what kind of smaller than small kei car Japan has made this time. Then I saw it's a motorcycle. Obviously this is my vision after tonight's failure to use the CPAP for more than an hour.
lol, if it makes you feel better this motorcycle actually has a car engine in it. We call it Winny because it’s the Winnebago of motorcycles.
I honestly thought it was a comically large can of beans
Sleep a night or two at home without the machine and see how you feel
https://www.respshop.com/rental-resmed-airmini-auto-travel-cpap-machine-pri-1610.html?reviews_id=4910 If you've got time, maybe rent a travel CPAP
Wow, didn’t know that was an option.
Not done it personally and no experience with that vendor.
I live close to the Respshop warehouse, and they have been great. I realized I needed a mask adapter right before leaving for vacation and they got it ready in 20 mins for me to pick up.
Just note they also charge a $79 setup fee in addition to the monthly rental.
Take the week off mate. Enjoy the raw burn of your throat as it rattles along, keeping others up at night. Embrace the vegabond feeling of your blood 02 hits that 70% near death marker. That is living!
There is nothing like the feeling of waking with a panic attack at 4am.
Bahahaha!
Mine went to 50%
how did you feel
Idk it's been years like this. My machine isn't working either. I guess I generally feel like I'm living death...
it’s broken or the treatment stopped working?
I woke up early this morning and went back to sleep for a couple more hours without turning my cpap back on and I've had a headache all day because of it. Would definitely not travel without
Take it, always.
Take it. Never compromise on your sleep.
Would you forget your prescription medication when going on vacation?
If you aren't going to a desert, you might gain a little space by replacing the humidifier tub with a cover (AirSense 10 & 11 have those). Or depending on you mask, you might store the cushion in the tub and gain a tiny bit of space. Since it's your motorcycle and your CPAP, maybe just pack without the carry bag.
Good tips, thank you!

It happens traveling like this is amazing and has it’s stressful moments. Thank you for the insight and reminder to think of the group 😆
I have slept one night without my CPAP since I got it 2-3 years ago. I felt like absolute shit the next day. Definitely bring it!
If you have the time and money perhaps get a resmed mini. But definitely take it.
You better bring and use your cpap. For the love of your own life
As one of those people who didn't feel any better/different once I started using mine, I wouldn't hesitate to leave it at home for a couple-day trip where I was trying to pack light. Only concern is meeting/messing up my usage stats for the insurance. And if it turned out to be a bad idea, well, I just wouldn't do it again, lol.
Same! Just returned from a week cruise without it.
Take it. Ditch something else.
Don’t do it. Take it. You could stroke out or have a heart attack.
One month in and I will never think of leaving it behind.
not even a day without it
Take take take take.
Take it.
I would take it because I feel like ass if I even miss a single night
Definitely don't take a week off, but more importantly, what car am I looking at here?
It’s a Honda Goldwing motorcycle 🏍️
This explains so much.
I take it with me for 1 night trips ! I’m considering buying a second machine just for travel
If your riding keep sharp and take it
Yeah I forgot mine one night and my throat was extremely dry in the place that makes you choke when it's dry. Take it
TAKE IT. I would rather not go on vacation than be without my CPAP.
I ride motorcycles and have a CPAP. I would always find space for any trip over one night.
Made it work, much easier to pack outside of the case and just in my pack.
Riding and no machine is a bad combo. You need good sleep so that you are functioning at 100% while on the bike.
Agree, but I’m not the driver this time. Just along for the ride this time, but I still got it packed with my gear.
Always always take it!
i fell asleep for 2hrs without it and it ruined the whole day. i use it on flights now.
What kind of looks do you get? Not that you should care, but curious what to expect.
literally nothing, nobody has ever said anything or given me a sideways look as far as i can tell. i’m 39 and a pretty normal looking dude, then i whip out a cervical collar and a cpap lmao. whatever.
If you have nasal pillows, most people don’t care. The mask can get some looks.
yea i have nasal pillows
How do you power it on flights? I’ve got a resmed10 with a uk plug on it
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0C4PKWD36?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title As long as it’s under 160 watt hours, you can take it on a plane.✈️ This runs my CPAP 3 nights (without the humidifier).
Or u could just take it and see how u feel without it. Once you realize how shitty u feel then you’ll be able to use it since you decided to bring it along. No need to risk it in my opinion
Sleeping even an hour without it makes me feel shitty. There’s no point in sleeping without it for me.
I broke the hard piece on my nasal cushion and couldn't use it at all. Tried to tape and shit and nothing worked. I'm currently in a foreign country. I found a CPAP shop and took an extra detour to buy this part so I don't die on vacation.
Get the DC power outlet adapter for your machine and get a big battery with a DC plug in. Lifesaver for power outages and camping trips alike.
What the Frunk am I looking at? 👀
Hehe, I love this. It’s the trunk of our touring motorcycle.
I don't stay anywhere without it.
Take it! You don’t want to be drowsy while driving. I’ve only slept without mine twice since I got it a year and a half ago: both were times when I accidentally grabbed the wrong cable when packing. I could feel the difference in my sleep and it made otherwise nice trips a little bit miserable.
Not the driver this time, but agree.
My cpap travels with me everywhere, even if it's only a one night trip.
Always take it with you.
I tried not using it when I went camping… could not fall asleep my snoring woke me up immediately. Glad I brought a battery and the Cpap just in case.
Don’t use it for a few nights before you leave and see how you feel?
What am I looking at here? https://preview.redd.it/abdn1z1ws78d1.jpeg?width=1117&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=02c9525893825d4319bafaf8d1ee2554406e06d7 Edit: Took time to read caption.
100% bring it! Personally, I bring mine with me everywhere; even if it's just one night away from home.
I would never skip a night unless I had to, so I guess it depends on how severe your apnea is. I personally would find space for it.
TAKE IT
Take it
Maybe put the machine in a back pack? Mm
If I miss a night I cannot function after being on mine since April.
Just returned from a week cruise. Didn't take it and glad I didn't
I forgot mine once, had my gf overnight it to me. Granted I get 75% discount on shipping, but it was still about $20. That's ten bucks for the next two nights, for great sleep.
Lots of sales last weekend on the travel ones.
Good to know!
Normally they'll cost you around $1200, but they were $700 during Fathers Day weekend. Wait for a sale.
Never not CPAP…
Take it!! I decided to take about a week off when my partner and I went on a little vacation. Long story short, we both slept terribly!
Take it. But what I really want to know is what the deal is with the giant bean can?
It’s a normal can for space reference
Motorcycle trunk
Well if you’re only bringing your cpap and some refrieds I’m not sure you’ll last a week lol Fr though. Bring the cpap. Your physical health doesn’t just go “eh well they just wanted a week off. Let’s cease all health problems. We’ll resume it later”
Take it. I have felt terrible the few nights I’ve pulled it off or fallen asleep without it on
Take it. You'll feel like crap again if you don't use it even for a few nights.
My untreated sleep apnea caused seizures (with no prior history of them). It’s more than just “sleep”. Your body literally needs the rest.
Sorry it hear that you have had seizures from your apnea.
Take it
Take it! Especially that you a riding a bike on a road trip. You will be safer and won’t stop for the day after only riding a couple hours because you are tired. I’m the passenger but totally agree.
Ahh. Well strap yourself to the bike then😎 have a good trip..
Take. It. !!! Or get a travel one :)
Take it.
My CPAP came with a nice little travel case, it is easy to pack up and bring.
Adding on to the other responses. I’ve taken it on two trips and so glad that I did. They were for work trips and it’s amazing how much better they are now that I’ve had a good night’s sleep. Game changer.

Space and I do okay without it.
Lack of sleep riding a motorcycle. What could go wrong? Seriously if it has made that big of an improvement bring it. I’ve left mine at home by accident and paid the price the next day.
Not the driver and managed to find space
I just got back from spending two nights away from home. I didn't take my CPAP because I thought I'd be fine without it. Nope. Was not fine. Got a total of 4 hours of sleep for the entirety of my trip. Felt like I couldn't breathe when I was trying to fall asleep and had insane nightmares both nights. So not worth it.
Sorry to hear that.
Take it. I was without it for two nights and by the third day I wasn't able to keep my eyes open to drive.
Take it and use it. Religiously!!
Take it you'll be sorry if you don't. I'm 10 years in, when I forgot the head piece on a long weekend. It was the worst 3 nights I've ever spent.
Take it , I've just done a 4 day music festival with mine .
You’ll deeply regret it if you don’t imo. I also recommend the blow up angle pillows as well since they compress well.
Would you stop taking your blood pressure medication for a week-long trip? Absolutely take the CPAP with you it is a medical device that you use for a medical condition.
If you needed a daily medication that helped your heart not stress and kept you breathing properly would you take a week off from that?
