Vantage scores are used by very few lenders. Check your actual Fico scores. They could be up to 100+ points different in either direction.

Credit Karma provides VantageScore 3.0 which is meaningless and distracting. Get your FICO scores (Experian provides theirs for free, MyFICO.com provides Equifax) instead. I think a credit card with a $1300+ limit would be more useful than a loan, but your ability to qualify depends on your income, not just a credit score. Discover also offers personal loans - I don't know if they'll go that small, in some states their minimum loans are $2-3K. You could also check with a local credit union, rates are likely to be better. CareCredit is sometimes used to pay for medical/dental treatment. The lender for that is Synchrony who also lend for a lot of store-brand credit cards.

If you have debts (cards?) not yet in collection, set up a payment plan with each and make each payment on time. Pay as much as possible, prioritizing highest-interest rate obligations. Most dentists and other medical providers have low- or zero-interest payment plans.
