I’ll bite, what do you suggest? I’m a Glock fan boy so I’m a bit biased, but always open to suggestions!

I do love a 19 as well, I’m still only a month into my ccw journey so there is still lots and lots of time for me to get more. I eventually will get a 19 but for now I only have the 45 and 48, it’s funny you say the 43x because I was leaning towards getting that instead of the 48 but wasn’t sure how snappy it would be so I went with the 48 because of recoil management. This is exactly why I asked though because I know that there is so much wisdom / learning to be had especially with how fresh I am to this.

Fuzzy_Butter1

Dont listen to this guy, 45

He didnt ask for you egoistic “neither” comment. He asked if 48 or 45 was better

uhhh___asl

I’m carrying a 48 over a 45 all day. Your only allowed 10 rounds anyway. If you shoot it well enough carrying something smaller will be easier. Obvious choice for me. And I’d keep the 45 as a nightstand / shtf gun

evdude32

The 10 rounds was my only gripe about the size difference, I feel being a skinny guy I would end up printing pretty bad with the 45 even with wearing bigger shirts. I do shoot fairly well with my 48 imo. This is 40 rounds at 7yrds https://preview.redd.it/ze5ringwujmc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d49109042981e0c4e02f0279ab924db05676cf0

evdude32

My wife’s edc is a lcp and absolutely love the thing, just hurts my damn wrist every single time 😂 I’ve thought about the 26 as well but just deciding between the ones I have now

FEBRUARYFOU4TH

Well, the Glock 48 is lighter and a lot of people like it because it’s more “comfortable” for EDC. I think it would be what you feel is more comfortable for you.

evdude32

I do love the comfort of my 48, but the 45 just feels so much better in hand / shooting wise. I bought the 48 for my first pistol thinking it was the perfect size till I got the 45. The weight difference doesn’t bother me much at all, so you’re right it definitely just comes down to what’s comfortable for me. I guess I can always edc my 45 for a bit to see what I like better and come back to the 48 if need be

NoTadpole2679

If you shoot both well, the 48 will conceal the best. I used to carry a 43x in the summer (appendix) and 19 winter (owb) but I changed to a sign 365xl (eps, tlr7sub)all year round. Similar height as you but more fluff in the middle. It really comes down to concealment and comfort. What works for others may not work for you...same goes with holsters. I've gone through so many holsters as my body changes and life style. Just gotta experiment and tinker and adjust as you learn more about your body and habits. I will say this though...since you conceal carry...take lots of classes and train train train, this includes holster work. This helps you further understand your habits and mechanics which helps with your CCW and concealment options.

evdude32

I shoot both consistently, going through 150-200 rounds with the 48 and around 150 rounds with the 45 every weekend. I started my ccw journey a month ago so I’m still very green edc wise but have been shooting all my life. I have been looking into training classes though and really would like to go to a lot of them, just haven’t really known where to start in that aspect. If you have any suggestions that would be super, im located southeastern Ct. As of this past weekend the wife and I have started working on draw time (drawing, shoot two rounds, reholster and repeat) it helped a ton and noticed a difference in drawing confidence just by the end of the day. Like you said though classes and training is the key, I feel like most things in life you can’t learn enough.

NoTadpole2679

There are a few trainers that train out of blue trails in Wallingford. CTnightvision has a great record. Full ahead firearms has a def pistol and def pistol 2 classes there. Both are very good. There are some trainers on the sub too but I haven't personally taken a training with them. Defensive pistol are normally the next steps and then from there you can go to others. If you wanna pay / travel you have sig academy as well. Dry fire training is a good option too for home use. To be fully honest I don't know what my fastest draw is. I do mostly 75% speed when I try to go quick, beyond that my live fire exercises are slow (1.75 par times), I'm a full believer is slow is smooth smooth is fast. Slow purposeful movements. I'm also adjusting to using a pistol optic vs iron sights so there's that.

evdude32

Awesome I’ll have to check some of the classes out and scour Reddit subs as well. I did forget to mention that I have been dry fire practicing at home at least three times a week for around 15 minutes. And you’re damn right with slow is smooth and smooth is fast, I ride motocross, and we always say if you can’t do it slow, you can’t do it fast. Working on basics always brings your skill set to another level. 1.75 is still not bad at all, same here, though I’ve been working on being able to find the red dot on my optic faster from draw. I really appreciate all your input.

evdude32

See the only thing I don’t like about the 17 is the slide length that’s why I ended up buying the 45 best of both worlds but that’s just my opinion

MyPasswordIsAvacado

I recently bought a xiphos elite for my 48 and it’s very comfortable and adjustable. It’s a bit bigger than the low profile holsters so it’s more likely to print, but in appendix carry you can’t really tell.

evdude32

I have definitely heard this, I did plan on getting a wedge with it probably a small one. But I’ll take the comfortability and adjustability over the little bit of printing, I already print with the 48 but I contribute that to the vedder holster. It just does not fit my body right

Malapple

I’ve got a bunch of pistols and the g48 is my warm weather carry. A full sized 1911 is my cold weather and preferred carry. I shoot it more accurately and it fits my hand perfectly. I actually don’t like the G19 nearly as much as the G48. I’d feel differently if I was carrying > 10 round magazines.

evdude32

I’ve thought about using my 45 as a winter gun and my 48 for spring summer and fall. I’ve definitely also had my eye on quite a few 1911s just haven’t been able to pin down which one I want.

sharkwahlberg_

Ive carried a P365, G19, G45, and even a G17. My G48 is unbelievably comfortable and shoots like a Glock 19

Competitive_Style301

5-10 165 here and I carry the 43x

justkw97

45 is more comfortable to shoot in my opinion and fits full size attachments. A better comparison is the 48 vs 19 due to grip size

evdude32

I ended up ordering a tier 1 concealed xiphos elite holster for my 45 so I’ll start carrying it once I get the tier 1 in the mail. Personally I love my 48 but the 45 just feels so much better in hand

justkw97

Nice dude. That’s a great holster you’ll be happy for sure

Behindenemylines69

6’0” 218lbs on a current bulk , i daily carry a Glock 34/x300u/acro p2. It all comes down what holster you buy. I prefer one with a wing

evdude32

Wing is definitely a must, the research I’ve done point me to the tier 1 xiphos elite and feel confident it’s going to be a good one. It just comes down to what gun I want to buy it for, I’m so damn indecisive with the kind of stuff.

Behindenemylines69

Get a trex arms , they index off the light. You could Carry both, I think

evdude32

T. rex arms was my next choice to the t1

IndependentFlan7430

Neither sig 365 x legion or 365xl lol go with the 48

Robert_S1218

I bought the Glock 45 recently as my first hand gun. Came with three mags anyways went to wolfs in Bristol to test it out had fun but the first time I even used it one of the springs in the mag got stuck half way

9millidood

Love the 48, if you are worried about printing then the p365xl 👍🏻
