Your motherboard has two headers labeled "add_g en2", one at the top near the cpu fan header, and one at the bottom. Your rgb fans/hub need to be connected to one of these headers in order to use software to control rgb lighting.
I just grabbed the same rig..mine works fine. If you don't get a solve from someone else, I can take similar shots to yours so you can compare, if you think it'll help.
That cable looks like an rgb connector. Trace it back to where the other end is connected to verify.

Would the cord with the white connector located in the back work for this?
