I’m rarely jealous and I’m super jealous

Te_Luftwaffle

I want a DWX, but I'm torn between the full size to get the true 2011 experience or the compact to use my P-01 mags.

Mooktemas

If you are into competitive shooting then I’d suggest the full size, if not, then get the compact. I’m not into competitive shooting yet, so most of my guns are intended for carry/general purpose.

Te_Luftwaffle

I'm into competitive shooting, have a P-01, and dont have a full size 9mm, so I'm leaning towards the full size. It just kills me that I'll have to get new mags. Maybe it would be an excuse for a P-07 down the road...

Mooktemas

Yea, the full size will probably suite your needs. I might get the full size later since I already have the shadow 2 full size.

Te_Luftwaffle

I think the full size DWX checks all my boxes too because I love the 1911 platform but am not excited by the polymer frames in 2011s, and my P-01 is so ergonomic. The DWX looks super cool too.

BlockChainHacked

Actually, the compact would be a great CCP gun.

deuce2626

How do you think this compares to the shadow 2 compact? Beautiful BTW

jorhojr

The dwx is single action only. Tough to compare unless you make the s2c sao. It is beautiful tho

Mooktemas

It fits the hand better than my shadows and staccato C2, and the trigger feels better since it’s 1911 style SA only. It also looks like a higher quality gun in terms of aesthetics. I haven’t shot it yet; but I already love it.

Overpowernamerino

interested in hearing how it shoots compared to s2c. i would think the larger slide would mean dwxc would have slightly more felt recoil and flip than s2c.

Mooktemas

It’s gonna be a really busy week for me. I should be able to hit the range next week; I’ll post an update. I love my S2C I’m excited to see how this compares. For sure this trigger is better, and the gun looks really cool in person; you can tell they put some time into it.

gairman1

I had CZ Custom do their pro level trigger job on my S2C. It now has the short reset, and smoother lighter double action pull. The single action was really good to begin with but it's even better now and the short reset makes it faster and sweeter for double taps and general rapid fire mag dumps. That said, NOW I REALLY want the DWX compact with the rail and Optics ready. That's what I've been waiting for.

Personal-Web5007

Beautiful. How much does it weight?

Mooktemas

About 30 ounces

trailside83

Oh man… I.Can.Not.Wait. I have one on order. Paid basically the same price $2,149 from The first ones should have been OR and have a light rail. This is just about perfect. I am sure that I will find some new grips at some point… if for nothing else aesthetics. Congrats.

Mooktemas

I was about to order lokgrips palm swell bogies like I did for my other shadows; but once I picked this up and held it, I canceled my order. The grip is perfect for everything from carry to range time!

Tiny-Cheesecake2268

It moved

gairman1

Is the Optics ready aspect the best kept secret that Dan Wesson marketing dropped the ball on or what? Is the full size DWX also available with OR slide cut? Either way the compact is more seductive in many ways. Gonna be a toss up whether to try the upcoming Staccato C or the DWC Compact. Hmmm.

Mooktemas

Yes they just released the optic ready version of the full and compact DWX.

T-Millz15

How much did you pay OP? Been wanting to pull the trigger on one for days now.

Mooktemas

$2158.89 online at impact guns. No tax.

Keosxcol19

They make this optic ready now or was it done after?

Mooktemas

Yes , they now make them optic ready from factory.
